Sure, everyone was nice and the qait wasn't long, even with several people ahead of me, but all they did was give me a prescription and make me pay way more than I should have. I got no information on the pills I was prescribed or what to do after I was done taking them. Not even what I couldn't do while taking them. I got blood work done and gave them a urine sample to be testes and after two weeks, still haven't received a phone call with my results. I won't be returning. read more

Wow steer clear of this place. One too many bad experiences. Came in once and was treated for a sinus infection 5 months prior. when I came in and the doctor asked what was wrong I started to list symptoms he responded with, " it's 8:30 what do you want me to do". He also said that I have a sinus infection based on my X-rays from 5 months prior. second visit was for a sprained ankle. oh and BEWARE they charge triple the price of a store for off brand ace wrap. and they won't tell you until your ready to check out. read more

So as a 30-plus year " veteran " of working in the medical field, not to mention starting my career in a facility very much like this one I'll give them credit for facility cleanliness, appropriate behavior at the front desk, speed of registration and checking out/discharge. Even intake was fairly efficient. BUT the factors bringing it down from 4 or 5 stars are potentially complete deal-breakers: 1) on intake, the staff did not introduce themselves (simple courtesy, let alone professionalism), nor did she tell me my vitals except my fever which was part of why I was there. She did take my self-reported weight (my scale's accurate), which others don't- more on that another time. 2) The doctor came in after what seemed like a longer than necessary wait, (but this can't really be judged unless one works in the particular facility.) Then as he examined me, he hadn't washed his hands, hadn't put on gloves; he touched my nostrils with a bare finger. 3) As he left the room, he didn't wash his hands or sanitize them. But he'd just told me I had the flu!!! The staff who came in to discharge me a few minutes later had no idea she was touching a flu contaminated door handle....yuck! 4) I asked for a note for work, which he asked about for what days, and upon reading the aftercare notes on flu, he should've suggested I stay off work for 3 days longer-it's right there in their instructions... They really want to let somebody back into a hospital work environment possibly contagious with flu??? I'll still give them three stars though, partly I'm generous, partly the above "dings" are frequently encountered elsewhere. Bottom line, be interested in your health care, know your vitals, and insist your doctor clean their hands upon entering and leaving your treatment area. read more

This place is horrible!!! I just spent 4 1/2 hours there and walked out because they forgot about me. The Dr. literally was having his "tea time" and the nurse didn't want to disrupt him. Compete disregard for their patients especially when they are experiencing excruciating pain. I will NEVER go back and would NEVER recommend anyone to go there. read more

Incompetent front desk and unethical billing department. I visited this facility over a year ago and I am still dealing with the aftermath. I have double insurance and ended up receiving a bill from Sendas 6 months after services for the full amount because the billing department failed to follow through with submitting my claim to my insurance company. I ended up paying the bill in full after being threatened to be taken to collections and am in the process of being refunded from my insurance company for the entire bill. If the staff would have done their job correctly in the first place, or at least followed up in a timely matter, my issues could have been avoided. The women I have dealt with in the billing department have been nothing but mean, unhelpful and very rude. I will never return to this urgent care. I advise anyone to drive the extra 2 miles to the next urgent care so you do not have to deal with this type of service. read more

I took my 89 year old dad in for xrays for broken rib. They were SO very patient and kind with him. It was quick and they were all very nice and very efficient! We saw Dr. Tate and he even took a few extra minutes to chat with my dad about his service in the military! Thank you all at Proximity!!! read more

This is my urgent care of choice. I use it for my whole family, and recommend it to friends. If you have an urgent matter that is non-life threatening they will treat you generally in less than an hour. I have waited longer to be brought back though when they were busy in the winter. One time when I was coughing hard and felt particularly bad and did not feel like sitting up in a chair, and I asked them to call me while I laid down in my seat in my car out front and they did. I feel like they definitely listen to concerns and are willing to give requested treatment. The location is in the NW and the parking is very good. There are convenient restrooms inside. It would be nice if they had a water dispenser and more comfortable chairs. They are a very tiny facility that has 2 TVs to watch. At times it can get very noisy and that is stressful when you are sick or anxious about your child. read more

I was extremely disappointed on the follow up. I was sent over for an MRI for my ankle after the x-ray came up normal. That was on Friday. I was told they would contact me after they received the results. Monday came and went - no call. I called them on Tuesday morning and was told they would relay my message to the doctor. No response for two hours. I called again and was shifted to voice message- left msg. No response after an additional hour I contacted Quest which had done the MRI and asked about them - they could not review with me but told me they had sent them over on Monday. I called again, now around 4:30 - finally after pushing, I got a nurse who acknowledged they had the results. The doctor would call me back- told them I would come in the next morning. Did I add that my ankle had been hurting since Friday. I came in and waited. They collected another $30 which I can't understand since I not wanted to know the results?. And when they got to a room, the doctor had no clue as to why I was there. The MRI revealed a torn ligament and I would have to see an orthopedic physician. The second doctor seemed inexperienced and although friendly not much help. Overall I was disappointed-- most likely would not recommend to family and friends. Jeff Peterson read more

No urgency or respect for people's time. Front desk girl took 45 min to get file ready to be put in line. When you ask a question the staff says oh I am not sure. They are all young and incompetent. They need more training and knowledge on everything so they are sure about what they say. It is close to my house, but I will drive for more respectful care with competent staff. read more

After my girlfriend had a visit on a Friday to have an ulcer checked out and a kidney stone, Chavez said he would get back to her on Saturday with results. Saturday came... No calls. We call Sunday, and we were told he was out for the day. Monday comes... We call, secretary says she'll have Chavez call us back. No calls back. Tuesday comes... First time to this urgent care. Took my 6 year old daughter. She had a bad flu. Just wanted to be on the safe side. Also, had to bring my 4 year old son. Luckily, my kids are behaved and patient. We waited over 2 hours in the waiting room and 30 min. In the actual doctors office/room. I am not sure what the issue was. I felt bad for my kids having to be there, for so long. Especially, my sick daughter, who wanted to be home in her bed. Maybe short staffed? Luckily, the doctor and staff were nice. I am not sure, if I will go back here. Had to use there services yesterday. Once registered and put in an exam room, was seen pretty quickly. Was seen by a young doctor, he didn't look older than 18. I believe his name was Dr. Nuyen. Very intelligent and caring doctor. He told me he was an ER doctor working there part-time. He was very quick and efficient, but did not seem hurried. he took time to listen to my complaints, explained the cause and what he wanted to do carefully so I could understand. His nursing staff was also very polite and caring. I would come back again if I needed any medical attention. Thank you Sendas Northwest Urgent Care for the help. read more

this is a good place to go if you don't wanna wait at the ER, but i just wish they had cared a bit more about me. everyone was nice and stuff but i was presenting with a pretty gnarly rash/allergic reaction to something undetermined, and whilst they did give me a shot of benadryl and then a shot of some steroid after telling me they were also going to prescribe both (my rash is Really Bad, and at this point it's really serious and could turn into something really danerous) they proceeded to just tell me to take benadryl with no dosaging information and i had to go back and ask how often i should take it because when i was walking out i realized they didnt give me any instructions. i should've asked how much to take as well but that shouldn't be my responsibility to remember to ask. didn't prescribe the steroid which probably would've really benefitted me. my reaction got worse over the day so i went to the Real Doctor today where they ran blood tests and gave me a different antihistamine and were very concerned about me. again, this place is fine and they probably thought i was gonna be okay, but i wish they had cared more :/ read more

The office staff and medical assistant were wonderful. My issue was with Dr. Rocky Chavez. He talked down to me in such condescension that I was appalled. I was already feeling like a hypochondriac going in for something minor but I had my concerns. I would rather wait and see someone with basic manners than this Dr who rushed and talked to me and scolded me like I was an uneducated, stupid idiot. I will never go back. read more

Very unhappy with the unethical billing practices of this office and the care given in my case. I had to pay $120.00 before even seeing anyone. After two weeks I still have the same problem that I went there for. I asked directly if there would be any additional fees and was told no. Then I receive a bill in the mail for $52.00! They are not willing to resolve the problem. I do not recommend anyone going to this place of business for anything. read more

My son went to get seen for flu symptoms. He had what Dr Chu said was pneumonia. He took great care of him and had to go back for the next couple of days to get antibiotic shots. However on the third day he saw Dr Huevo who told him he was over treated and should return to work on the following day and did nothing for him. By Tuesday my son was admitted to Mercy hospital with a bad case of pneumonia, sepsis and aspergellis. He was admitted to the ICU unit. I tried several times to reach Sendas to ask who the director of the clinic so that I could write a letter of concern, the receptionist was helpful but no one ever returned my calls. I could have lost my son because of Dr Huevos' inferior care. We'll never return to that urgent care. Inmates are given better health care! read more

I have read many reviews and am very disappointed in so many people that do not understand this is a first come first serve urgent care. naturally I would hope if it were someone having a severe heart attack, severe injury and the like all would understand that would put them another person down the line. Have worked medical office for 28 yrs. am retired now nut you never know what is coming i. The door next. naturally when you are sick you really do not feel up to a wait but that is how it is. Many people abuse urgent are facilities as they do not want to wait at their own Dr's office, maybe would rather go on Sat. or Sun. As more convenient for them... Allergy alerts I always marked in RED on every page including the front jacket of record. Immunizations I always color coded and also kept front of jacket. Diagnosis such as diabetes I also color coded. You can NEVER be to careful when you have someone's life in your hands so be helpful patients and ask !!! And Speak Up!!!!! A Dr. Cannot guess what you might know about yourself. I have been to NW Urgent care and always wait if I need to, I am only me..there are many more people in this world and as well as we have it here we have nothing to complain about compared to the rest of the world. Took my husband there. He was having muscle spasms in his back and was in alot of pain. They advertise the average wait time is less than one hour. We waited for over 2 hours. They gave him 2 injections for pain and told him they wanted to x-ray his back. He had not fallen or been in a car accident, and had a CT scan done of his back just a few months ago. He told the nurse he did not want an x-ray and she asked him why not? He explained the above to her. She left the exam room, and sent an x-ray tech in to do an x-ray any way. My husband again explained to the tech why he didn't want an x-ray done. Wyhen he was through and ready to check out, he paid his co-pay. with his ATM card. The woman up front gave him a receipt to sign. He tried 3 different pens, but could not find a pen that would write. Finally, he asked the woman up front if he could borrow her pen. She refused to let him use her pen, stating "All those pens are brand new, and they will write." At that point she grabbed the unsigned receipt. My husband asked her if she was having a bad day, and she just glared at him, saying nothing. He then told her she was rude, and he walked out. If you need urgent care make sure you know if they take your insurance or not! They have no compassion for you as a human, but are more concerned with your money than your health! I took my son in today cause he could not drive, (he's 29) anyway he was in bad shape, couldn't talk or anything, he works for ATT and this is the first time he has used his insurance (healthnet) so i went in to fill out the paperwork, upon completing it i was informed that they do not take his insurance and that they did not know of anybody in Bakersfield who did! So we paid the $150.00 so the Dr. can consult with him! It took 40 minutes to do paperwork to have the honor of paying them but took less than 3 for the Dr. To tell him to go to emergency, my gripe is they knew all along that Mercy Southwest took his insurance, (where they sent us) and could have saved alot of wasted time if they would have said, we dont take that insurance but mercy hospital does! BUT NO!they had to fleece us for $150.00 first! SHAME ON YOU NORTHWEST URGENT CARE!! read more

Ok so I very seldom do reviews on anything but my experience with Northwest Urgent care was bad enough that I thought I should. Last month I had a motorcycle accident in which I hurt my shoulder bad enough that I felt I should get it checked out, I went to Sendas Northwest Urgent care and once they got me in the back did the normal workup bp, checked ears. ect. Once I saw the Dr. to look at my shoulder he did not have me remove my shirt or even attempt to look at my shoulder, he sent me back to get an xray, came back in about 30 min later and told me the xray didn't show anything gave me some weak pain meds and told me to take it easy for a few weeks and if it still hurt to come back at that time. no referral for further testing nothing. I told him I knew something was wrong this wasn't just a bruise (that didn't change anything). I got into my regular dr 2 days later (as soon as was available) they ordered a MRI as well as another x ray which revealed a piece broken off of my Shoulder blade and torn tendons that required surgery to repair! good thing I didn't wait two weeks. The urgent care called me 3 days after I was there to tell me there was in fact a fracture that they hadn't seen, ( I already knew at this point) When I went back to the urgent care to get a copy of the report and x ray for my insurance I noticed that they had written that I had the beginning of an ear infection that they noticed during the initial workup, they didn't tell me anything about it at all when I was there and didn't prescribe anything for it either (my Dr. noticed it when I went there and took care of it). read more
