I came here on the recommendation of a friend. I was fortunate that she had a manicurist she really likes and trusts, so that's the same person I requested, Merlin, who did a wonderful job with my daughter's nails for Homecoming. My daughter got a dip powder manicure with tips. The service was expertly done and looked great for three weeks. Merlin was also personable and friendly, and my daughter enjoyed her time there. She was there another time with her godmother, and the person who did her nails rushed, ignored her complaints, and did not do a good job. She hated the way her nails looked, and I ended up taking her back in less than two weeks to have them redone. I also get dip powder manicures and have not been disappointed. When Merlin is not available, I request Zin. He is friendly and polite, and he is very careful to ensure that I am happy with the outcome. He is very patient and does not make me feel rushed even though he is quite efficient. Others have complained about the cash tip policy, but I appreciate putting the tip directly in the hands of the person who provided the service. I'm glad to know they receive 100% of what I want them to have. Overall, I like the salon. I'm just careful to request staff I know will deliver the results I like--and I make sure they and their managers know how much I appreciate them. read more

The water was cold and when I asked the made it "warmer" (no noticeable difference). Not much in terms of treatments like hot towels, massage lotion. I've visited this salon in the past an have been pleased their service. However my visit on September 11th was extremely disappointing . The problem was the technician who performed my service, which was a simple manicure. She was not able to adequately communicate with me, which after a while I found frustrating. For instance, instead of telling me she wanted me to move my hand, she would just push my hand. The service was also sub par. She put lotion on the back of my hands and then told me to go wash my hands after which she put the hot towels on my hands and wiped down my arms. She then started preparing to polish my nails. She asked if I wanted to pay and I said yes. The price she quoted was different than the price that was on Prive's website. When I questioned the amount, she was not able to explain why it was different. She left and returned with another woman who I assumed was the manager. She said they changed their prices within the past year I advised her the price was different than what is listed on the website. She then tells me the technician told her I did not want to pay. At that point I was pissed! I advised that was not the case, I was questioning the amount and unfortunately the technician was not able to communicate with me. I also advised that I was not satisfied with my service. For instance I did not get a hand massage. The mgr said something to the technician and responded that she said she had done a massage. I informed the manager that was not the case and I think I would know if I received a hand massage. When she polished my nails they were thick and clumpy and when I told her that was not going to work she goes and gets the manager, again. The mgr tells me there was a problem with the polish I chose. She then goes and chooses another brand and brings it back to me. At this point I just want out. The technician applies the polish to my nails and looks at me like she's done - I asked her if she's going to put a topcoat on. After she applies the topcoat she gets up and leaves me sitting at the table, I assume I'm sitting there waiting for my nails to dry. She returns a few minutes later and points to the front and says go to the dryer. She does not take me to the dryer and when I get there the dryers are not on and I have to ask one of the ladies at the front desk to turn it on. A manicure is supposed to be a relaxing experience this was far from it. My main complaints are; #1, I am not looking for a chatty Cathy but I do want the person performing a service to verbally tell me what they need me to do. #2, I want to receive the service I'm paying for. #3, the technician telling the manager I did not want to pay which was not true. #4, the website not accurately reflecting your prices. If you are a service provider - provide quality service. Customers should not have to make sure the technicians are completing the services correctly nor seek out help using your equipment. read more

We probably waited longer than our manis took, but I love the forearm and hand massage followed by hot towels. I used to love it here. It used to be nice and the staff was friendly and helpful. Today I had a rushed, but decent, pedicure. It seemed somewhat dirty, as nail clippings and pedicure shavings remained on the floor for more than 30 min after several pedicures had been finished. The man who did my pedicure could not have been ruder. It completely ruined the experience. He was obnoxious, rushed and then walked around pacing afterwards waiting for the next victim. They stated they do not have online gift cards and turned my money down stating I'd have to know when she would be in the shop and then call. I've been a regular customer here for several months. My nail tech is very nice and she does an excellent job! However management and it's customer service has a lot to be desired. Casey in particular. She addressed me as if I were her subordinate along with a scowl look on her face. I was almost 5 mins late for my appointment but I informed my nail tech that I was in route to her. Casey was fully aware of that, yet she assigned my nail tech to someone else. The problem I have with that is I always arrive to my appointment on time and have to wait up to 15 mins for my service to start with no complaints. Prive' charges higher prices than other nail salons and is quite a distance from where I live. That said, I have been a loyal client and continued to patronize the business regardless of the inconvenience. I had to wait an hour to receive service from another nail tech. He too was awesome! Nevertheless, upon completion of my services, I approached the front desk to pay my bill. Casey, with the same mean look on her face, did not great me but in an unprofessional tone, stated my total. I asked her to place the debit machine in my reach and she demanded I give her my card. Again, I asked her for the machine and she wouldn't place it in my reach. I stretched my arm across the desk to tap it myself. She gave me the receipt to sign. When I returned it she snatched it and looked away. After about 30 seconds, I asked for a copy of my receipt. She printed it out, handed it to me and said nothing to me at all. Casey, as management, should have apologized for the inconvenience and thanked me for patronizing her business. Don't waste your money. I came in for a pedicure and the first thing they tell me is "if you want callouses scraped you have to buy the premium pedicure..ok, then I chose a cold and I was told the silver capped bottles are $5 extra(but there was no signage at the nail polish wall) so now I'm in the water and I'm told it's $5 extra for the same brand polish but with a silver cap; but at other salons it's not extra. Moving on to the quality of the pedicure...the technician barely cleaned around the corners of the nail(especially big toe). She didn't cut much off and I kept asking her to cut more off and I wanted the nail files straight across and she kept rounding the nails and giving me an irritated look and finally, she cut my nails crooked! Some are angular, some have rounded edges and some are straight across. She did a HORRIBLE JOB and had the nerve to give me the looks when I pointed out a problem. Let's not even mention that I paid extra for the callous scraping and she did an bad job of it and when I pointed out some areas that need work she ignored me. I had a pedicure on August 15. I have been to this salon several times and the results can be hit or miss. You are assigned a nail tech and often times they are rough and the process can be painful. I'm writing about this because my last pedicure resulted in my being cut. A deep cut that bled on and off for a couple of days. I was very concerned about infection, so I put anti bacterial cream on for over a week. I was charged full price even though I was injured. The nail tech seemed afraid to have the injury acknowledged. It is very convenient because no appointment is necessary, but having to take chances with nail techs with unknown skills is off putting to me. read more

Maybe I just had a bad nail technician, but she could NOT paint my nails properly. I mean, it was splotchy and she either didn't notice or she didn't care. My guess is that she didn't care. I ended up asking them to just erase the polish off. I had a regular manic ($17), which isn't expensive, but I clearly didn't get my moneys worth. To be fair, the receptionist said he would re-paint my nails if I wished, but at that point I was just like, "nah, I wanna get outta here." DEFINITELY do not recommend. My first time here and I told them that. Receptionist seemed annoyed with her job, but when you speak with her about something else, she was nice. My friend comes here often to get a quick mani, and tells me how she used to ask the employees what colors are hot and trendy for the season and they always scoffed her off. So pick your own color and don't bother asking because either they are not up to date in their industry or they just don't care to offer their knowledge. My manicurist was friendly and nice. He did a good job on my nails but looking over what was described as my service in the pamphlet that I paid for, *I never received the massage*. Communication seems to be lacking here as I was told I was next, then the receptionist put another patron in front of me, essentially cutting me and put that person with *my* manicurist that was coming up for me as I was standing at the desk! Wow I should have read the reviews before coming here. Lesson learned. I frequently go to The Cuyahoga Falls and Fairlawn location and love. This place if affiliated with the Anthony Vince group is nothing like. I received a shellac manicure. She was not pleasant and I felt incredibly rushed. Then I left salon and in better light could see that the color I chose did not cover evenly with the two coats. I went back in within 15 minutes and showed the receptionist. She looked highly irritated. Then went to get the nail technician who said twice "I showed you color before I put in the machine". Which she had but didn't give a second to really see. I have been to the Chagrin location 3 times now and the 3rd time will be my last visit. Each visit is worse than the previous visit. It seems each time there are mostly new and inexperienced staff. I have been a regular at Prive for a while but today I will never go back! The technician had no respect for his customer. He started out by answering texts while doing my nails. Then he proceeded to pull out his wallet in front of me and started taking pictures of a credit card front and back! I could see that he already took a picture of a drivers license b4 that !! Then he propped up his phone next to him and his phone began to ring twice. He left me and disappeared while he could answer his phone! I was there today. They don't spray counter tops between customers. When I said something I noticed he did while I was paying. I watched as pedicure chairs, vibrator controls were not wiped down between customers even though spray bottles available. They do use individual plastic on foot baths. They do offer hand sanitizer if that's enough for you. They had only one nail Brush where I've been to other salons that have enough to rotate and sanitize between customers. Unsure clippers are cleaned between customers. This is a high risk business and I've seen it done better. read more

I came in few weeks ago to just to remove my gel polish and to get a simple manicure and just put a clear coat on, with regular nail polish. When I arrived, the lady up front said it will only be 30 min wait. I was waiting over an hour. Then I asked how much longer will it take, and the girl who was answering phones up front just took me to a table and started wrapping my nails in foil to take off gel. Once she wrapped them, she disappeared for a WHILE. Then another customer walked in, and she started on her nails as well ! For about 10 min she was helping the other customer, and she came back to me and started taking off foil and and taking off the rest of gel polish. She DID NOT wash her hands before coming back to me. She literally just come right over, after helping the other customer during COVID. Are you kidding me? Then, not even finishing taking off my gel or foil, she went to answer the phone because it kept ringing. She came back with the phone in her hands, and kept answering of while taking off my gel. She then just walked away again, and didn't come back for a while. At this point I was there for almost 2 hrs. I began removing the gel by my self. She came back, and began doing the manicure, she did a horrible job, so I clearly asked to AT LEAST remove my cuticles. Which didn't do even after I asked. Anyway, I was there close to 3 hrs. The manicure was horrible, and by the time she started on clear coat, I was there for way to long. I just got up after the horrible manicure and asked her to check me out. I went home and just did my own nails. This was the worst experience of my life. So much potential in this nail Solon, if the owner actually cared to make the service there more decent. I have gone to Prive for 10 years - Anthony Vince before Prive opened and then Prive after. While the service can be hit or miss, I have always stuck with them because they do a great job. I went this past Saturday for a dip manicure, and the young woman did a great job. However, I broke my nail on Sunday and came back this morning to get it fixed. I was happy to pay for it, and assumed that it would be an easy thing to do. I didn't remember the color because I asked the woman to pick a nice white for me, and she was not working. I was first placed with a woman who just shaved off the old gel, and put on a completely different color white. When I asked if we could find another white that looked a little bit closer, an older gentleman came over and started getting angry with me for not remembering the color. I asked if I could go look for the color that was closer, and while I did, they both left to help other people without saying anything. Then, another gentleman came out to help me. He told me he refused to help because they work off commission and he wouldn't fix something he didn't do. I offered to pay extra, and he refused and just walked away. I was standing there with my nails unfinished, and everyone refused to help me. The woman at the check in stand was very sweet and patient, but unfortunately wasn't familiar with the policies and wasn't able to get anyone to assist. I and my daughter went to Prive on Sunday 8/15/21 for a Pedicure. We signed in at 1:30pm and was told there would be a one hour wait, well at 3:40pm, we were still waiting for service however, I did call ahead during the week to make a reservation for Sunday, and was told no reservations are taken on Sundays, walk-ins only. Sad to say, while I was waiting, I learned that was not true... People were coming in and being seen ahead of me and I heard the Lead Tech, at the Service Desk, say "they had appointments." I waited over two hours for service and was told I would need to wait an additional 15 minutes before I could be serviced. I then ask her remove my name and my daughter's name from her sign-in list. She apologized for the long wait and told me again to make an appointment, I reminded her that I tried schedule and appointment however, for ME, I couldn't get a Sunday appointment like others that walked in two hours after me. I go to this spa every other week with my daughter. So I am a regular customer. On December 30th I went by myself because I wanted to get my nails done for the new year and my 40th birthday which was the following week. I was in the shop the week before with my daughter so I already had my New Year/Birthday color picked out. I get dip on my nails and matching regular polish on my toes. The nail technician started removing my prior dip and noticed that the regular polish that match the dip was not available. While I was trying to pick out another color the nail technician was very impatient as if the color change was my fault. I decided on a replacement color and asked a few times to make sure that the dip was available. He kept saying that it was. As he started to polish my toes I said to him, this color does not look like the same color that I picked. Are you sure this is the right color? He kept stating that it was. Once he finished polishing my toes he started my nails and I said again, this does not look like the same color. He kept stating that it was. Once he finish I showed him my nails and toes together and said, this color isn't even close to being the same. I was very upset because I changed my original color selection for this same reason (because the nail polish and dip to match was not available). He lied to the manager and said that he told me that the color was not the same and wasn't available. I was so disappointed in the way that management handled my issue because they tried to charge me for my toe polish (note: I did not receive a pedicure, just a polish change). I told them that I was not paying for something that I did not request so they offered to remove the polish so that I would not have to pay for it. I chose that option. He is rude, and I have witnessed him yelling at customers. He was getting very nasty with me when I asked him about how long of a wait it would be. And the person who stated the prices change constantly is telling the truth, they charge whatever they feel. I was a frequent customer until a horrible experience a few months back. A woman named Hannah was doing my gel mani with a mask over her face. She was literally ordering me around and it was hard to hear seeing as she had a mask over her face. I asked "what?" and she literally screamed at me. I don't expect red carpet treatment, but basic civility would be nice. Also, I suspect she gave me nail fungus. I have since treated it and it is now gone thank goodness, but the thought of returning gives me a pit in my stomach. Now I'm looking forward to trying Zen Nails at Pinecrest!
