We came in after the room had been cleaned and found the floors covered with humidity, the maid turned the ac off. I used a towel to wipe off the condensation, and it turned black, see photo. Dirty floors. Breakfast was included on our package. It was the same each day: -eggs -bacon -sausage -potatoes -pancakes Plus. The normal cereal, one type of bread, and one kind of so-so muffin. Nothing to write home about. But it was good, just not "resort" quality. We did see the restaurant manager checking on food, and greeting people. The coffee was good, with real half n half offered. In the evening there was a self serve s'mores table with chocolate, Graham crackers, and marshmallows. Simply take the goodies outside to one of the many fire pits. Nice. One evening there was line dancing lessons. The bar has live entertainment.

We waited about 25 minutes to be sat for lunch at the restaurant in the hotel and they were so understaffed it took a while just to get waters. I got the steak tacos for lunch though and those were literally to die for I've been dreaming of them since. The pools were overrun by teenagers not being watched by their parents because all the parents were in the bar line or just not paying attention, felt bad for the lifeguards who kept having to literally yell at them and blow their whistles while they continued to not listen. At around 11/11:30PM I ended up in the hallway confronting a group of teenage girls who were literally screaming their heads off for whatever reason, I was trying to get my toddlers to bed and they wouldn't sleep because the girls in the adjoining room were just such a nuisance. However after telling them if they didn't keep it down I was calling security and their parents (who no surprise were at the bar), they kept it quiet the rest of the night. So overall we had a good time, room was nice and comfy, pool area overall was great aside from insane teens and drunk parents. Probably won't be back again anytime soon though.

From 12 o'clock: Stringy, dry braised beef 'short ribs', very dry rice pilaf with a spoon of the beef sauce to moisten it up a little, flavorless, unseasoned butternut squash ravioli in browned butter with pepitas, exceedingly dry, unseasoned salmon with no sauce, gummy, pasty chicken part with a gluey, tasteless sauce and very tasty glazed carrots. The salt shaker did a lot of work on this meal. The crême brulée was nice. The room's ambiance was cold and sterile with no discernable decor. The podium on the riser was visible scratched, nicked and dinged. There was one bartender for 150+ guests and they were apparently short staffed. P.S. If you're planning an event there, beware. The food, service, and ambiance there sucks (in my personal, and formerly professional opinion).

I know this hotel has been undergoing changes and renovation so I will keep my eye on the reviews to see if anything improves. The good- the food. Lunch, dinner and breakfast were all buffet were to my surprise was pretty good. I had limited interactions with the staff so cannot comment there. I will say we had a fire alarm go off (I get it), and we were told although the firefighters couldn't find the source, they (the hotel) would keep an extra eye on things and be diligent in our wing. Fifteen minutes later- the alarm in my room started chriping (assumed it was the battery). Called the front desk from the room phone 3 times over 15 minutes- no answer. Called the main number of the hotel from my cell phone and the front desk picked up. They sent maintenance, who stood on the vanity bench from the bathroom to reach the ceiling and change it. In contrast, one of the other room (I was a chaperone for a large group)- their maintenance person put a plastic bag and duct tape over the fire alarm. The bed was comfortable. While our shower was clean, two of the other rooms had bugs in the shower. One room had yellow water from the faucet. At this point it was very late so we had the kids shower in other rooms. Our shower had the overspray on the wall tiles from when they repainted the bathtub. Floors are worn and dust and dirt under the bed. No screens on the sliding door. Two bottles of cheap shampoo and one bar of soap were given - Luckily I brought my own. Now the electrical outlets- none of them could charge a cell phone other than the ones in the bathroom. Multiple chaperones reported the same. When unplugged in the charger, it literally fell out of the wall. And the outlet next to the bed- the switch plate was broken and the outlet was ready to fall out all together. Can't comment on the pool but the kids seemed to enjoy it. Everything else is just... worn and tired and dated and if redone it was not redone well. I would not call this a "resort". Conference center it was.

If you want to bring your vehicle, you have to book the slower ferry. COST We paid $45 per person per trip, plus $2 tax (only $2?!) for a total of $182 plus $90 for prepaid off-site parking for 5 days. BOOKING It was easy to book the tickets over the phone. You can do it online as well. You get an email confirmation with information on where to go. PARKING & SHUTTLE On-site parking at the port is $35/day. You're paying for the convenience of disembarking, climbing into your vehicle, and leaving. Off-site parking is $18/day and not always staffed and you have to wait for a free shuttle (less than a 10-minute ride) that has a few stops and for which you're requested to Venmo tip or provide cash tip. The shuttle runs every 10 to 15 minutes. I don't recommend prepaying the parking because when you get there, there are huge signs saying if you don't pay at the machine, you'll get ticketed and towed. They didn't provide a parking pass when we initially booked or collected the car make/model/year so there was no way to prove that we had paid when we got to the off-site lot. We had prepaid $90 for parking and then on-site paid $90 at the kiosk but after a couple calls and emails, they understood what occurred and refunded us for one of the two charges. CHECK-IN When you get to the port, you have to get to get in line to get physical boarding passes---digital passes are not an option---so plan to arrive at the port at least 30 minutes before your departure time. BOARDING Boarding occurred about 10-15 minutes before departure. The lines get long. If you have a big party and insist on sitting together, arrive early to get adjacent seats. They're efficient and leave on time. BOAT The boat could use some cleaning of the windows, as the joy of sailing is to be able to see out clearly and not heavy streaks on the windows. You could also go outside to take pictures and get a better look. The seats were not comfortable but you're not on there for very long. It got crowded in late June so I can imagine it being crowded even more in July and August. Arrive early!

The lady over the phone was rude and didn't really wish to refund the money for what we paid but never used. Not the best experience . At the end she threw some $$ as a refund and didn't give a crap about the fact that it wasn't our fault as passengers either (for not getting the captain view we paid and weather issue).

We booked the "beach front" 1 bed 1 sofa bed room. In the pictures online it looked like our room had a door for the bedroom for privacy. NOPE! It was 100% open and the main bed was directly in the mini kitchen area. So that meant no privacy from our kids. There's no toaster or a microwave but there's a stove that can boil water in seconds. Since there's no rugs and no small area rugs, the floor gets incredibly sandy. I would recommend bringing a broom or swiffer.

We are on day 2 of our 5-night stay and already regret our decision to book here. We booked an ocean front king bunk suite for two adults and one child. Horrible, rude service from the time we checked in. We were greeted by a crusty-looking man at the front desk who immediately asked for our credit card and if he could run it for the remaining balance of our stay, which I thought was odd since most hotels usually wait until checkout to charge your card. We were not offered help with our bags upon check in. When I asked for a luggage cart the crusty man looked confused and told us that it would "take a while" and "probably wouldn't work anyway because the rooms are so small" and basically just to do it ourselves. After we dragged all of our bags from the car to the building, we had to carry them up two flights of stairs because there were no elevators. Once inside, the room was TINY, and had a gross humid feeling. It's obvious that they just put some lipstick on what was once a dumpy roadside motel and called it a day. So far the view and beach access are the only good things about this resort. There is not enough room to fit three suitcases and two adults + one small child comfortably without tripping over each other. The floors feel dirty and sandy and not clean to walk on with bare feet. Tub is dirty and paint is chipping. Went downstairs for coffee on our first morning (there is no free coffee btw) and paid TWELVE DOLLARS for two mediocre cups of coffee. The workers seem very unfriendly and almost hostile. Reading the reviews from a few years ago vs. now sounds like two different hotels, so it definitely seems like things took a turn recently. I am not high maintenance and was not expecting it to be The Four Seasons, but at this price point I would expect at least friendly service and a few basic amenities (like free coffee/breakfast or bottled water in the rooms?) I could go on but I've wasted enough time on this place. It's 4th of July week so there's no chance of finding another hotel with availability now. Will most definitely not be returning here.

There will be fun activities for the kids and food and drinks. If you go this weekend although it's snowing you will also get a gift card to your choice of restaurant. Ok so we make the appointment. Before letting me go asks me a few questions regarding address and one red flag income must be high! everything else emails seem legit. The lady on the phone acknowledges the snow that weekend and the 50 min drive but she lets it be known it's important I don't miss this or prize can be taken away. They describe it as a tour of the property with some info and food activities for kid. Drive was bad and dangerous we arrive and notice we are not the only ones there are about 30 tables full of ppl speaking to sales or waiting. We the "prize winners" get put in a private room. Closed in with sales lady. Hot chocolate is brought for the kids and some crayons and paper. Already I feel duped as one of my kids is 10 and doesn't much care for coloring. Sales lady starts of strong do you know what you signed up for? I say I signed up for a free vacation I was told I won. She makes a face and says it's not a free vacation you need to go through a 40 min explanation maybe longer and after you finish you get the vacation. I said I feel duped and this was all very deceptive. To be brought on the premise of you won a free vacation bring your kids along it will be fun. After the pitch we tell her not interested she says we will be blacklisted. Hands us the "prize" and mentions we will have to do this again before redeeming

The location is beautiful, and there is so much to do in the area and beyond (and I'm not kidding). The room we had was perfect, enough to fit everyone. We needed a blow-up bed, which the staff cared for without issue. Setting it up took up some space, but thankfully, it is nothing to complain about. The bed we stayed in was comfy. The important thing was that the room was well-cleaned and organized, which we were thrilled about. The facility provides a lot of that, including an indoor restaurant called the Loft Restaurant and Bar and an outdoor one called the Loft Shack in the middle of the parking lot. They even host events, such as outdoor concerts. The website provides more info on that. There is even an indoor building that offers sports such as tennis and basketball and even an arcade room. The Cove provides an indoor and outdoor swimming pool. Overall, we were very impressed with the Cove, with many memories to take in and cherish. Without a doubt, I would stay here again.

It's cold in New England so we seek shelter and why not shelter with a pool and hot tub??!!! 1. Easy check-in process- The front desk staff were extremely nice (even though we did watch a set of mouthy kids causing trouble and the staff handled it very well.) 2. Clean- I have never had a cleanliness issue with the Cove. I can share the small living room tables are pretty beat up now but I did see posted proposed updates. 3. Water- Water for everyone! General pool, little kid wading pool and a hot tub (16+) 4. Rec Center- We took for the 4 year old for the arcade. We spent $20 and we were there for about an hour (but I have to admit my favorite game was out of order- the coin pushing off the edge game) The older kids kept coming and going from the rec center playing wallyball and games. 5. Large closet- The large closet plays well into our hand. We put an air mattress on the floor and he had his own little 'room'! It's large without a door and right next to the bed in the loft. Win! My only gripes: The kiddie pooled smelt of cat pee and sweat (I know little kids are gross) and the fitted sheets did not fit the bed, like no elasticity left. Shoutout to the Manager Vinton who set up our room block securing us rooms together and overlooking the pool again! Thanks Vinton! We will be back again!
