We bought an old house and had a lot of work done - scraped off popcorn…read moreceiling, repiped so there were lots of holes in the ceilings and walls, raised a sunken floor, removed tile flooring and carpeting everywhere. I was looking for a company to patch the walls and finish the ceilings. After getting quotes from multiple companies, not only was Cesar's the most reasonable, his reaction to the amount of work was very positive. Some companies didn't want to take the job because it was too big. I've included some before/after photos of just a few of the areas he worked on, but he basically patched/finished every room in the house. He also built a wall to create a room and built a wall to help convert a wetbar into a pantry. His work is amazing, and afterwards the house started feeling like a home. Cesar is studying to be a general contractor, so he also keeps an eye out for other issues that aren't just dry-wall related and will mention it. For example, he mentioned that the deck built to raise the sunken floor was not completely flat, and that the contractor would have to use a physical level to verify rather than rely on laser level (the contractor verified this to be true and came back to fix it). He also pointed out that with steady use and traffic, some screws were poking out of the transitions my floor company installed. Due to his honesty I ended up hiring Cesar for multiple other jobs other than drywall - he replaced an old pocket door and hardware, fixing the wall after he cut into it and pointing out old water damage in that location. He replaced and painted all the doors, door casings, and baseboards, changed a door to swing outwards instead of in. He reinstalled all the sliding mirror closet doors that were removed because of the abatement. He painted the walls, ceilings, and stair rails. He built and installed IKEA closets behind the sliding mirror doors. Finally, he built the pantry shelves. This man takes pride in his craft. After working with so many other contractors that will do the bare minimum, Cesar goes the extra mile to add the extra touch that makes his projects look great, built-in, and finished. I trust this man completely and wouldn't hesitate to hire him for future jobs.

He also gave good advice when it came to installing a new shower valve. Since there was no way to access where the valve was without cutting the tile, the waterproofing would have been compromised. So according to him, it would be best to either redo the shower or we would have to use a bigger plate than the one that came with our shower valve to cover the big hole in the front in order to make space to work on the valve. Even though in the end we didn't touch the shower, it was mainly because of Ruslan's detailed explanation of what the work would entail.

The painters are all long term employees curated over 30 years and it shows! The crew was 3-5 people and they were very well organized, friendly, and most of all, hard working! The crew lead, Javier, was like a master overseeing his apprentices while working harder than everyone. Chris came on site several times over the week to check on things as well. I was amazed by all the prep work the crew did and well they cleaned up at the end of each day! Chris says the prep work is the most important part painting and it pays to do it right. Seeing the high ratings, we decided to hired Chris and his team from Exterior Specialists and are extremely pleased with the results. TL;DR: - Chris and his team are both efficient/ultra fast and skilled at their jobs (finished in a week, half the estimated time, and produced very high quality work) - Great work ethic from his team: on time, flexible, and clean (everything was organized and put away at the end of each day), despite scorching hot weather - Able to repair eaves (whether it be refurbishing or replacing) to be brand new - Chooses highest quality paint and won't get any paint on surfaces you don't want it on (the ground, lights, other decor) - Chris has great taste when it comes to choosing a color scheme for your home More Details: Firstly, Chris has great artistic taste in terms of what colors to choose to best fit your home. Our vision for the project was to refurbish our home to become more modern, which meant choosing a different exterior paint color. Unable to decide which colors to choose, we asked Chris what colors he would recommend. Not only was he able to immediately recommend different colors, but the color scheme he chose for us fitted our home perfectly and was exactly what we had in mind. Chris and his team's work is of the highest quality. Many of our home's eaves had been damaged by termites and needed replacing; many of the wooden boards were not only very high up and hard to reach, but also very large. Yet, he said it was no problems and his carpenters were able to make our eaves look brand new. They even went beyond replacing the badly damaged boards and helped sand and fill in the rest of our eaves! The paint was also of the same level of quality. Chris will help you choose the most premium paint that both looks nice and is more grime resistant than other paints. His painting team is highly skilled: there are no paint bubbles or flakes, no messy streaks or flecks to be seen, and they'll make sure any lights or decorations on the exterior walls are removed or completely covered. The greatest merit of Chris and his team, however, is their work ethic. We were in the middle of a heat dome when they started work, meaning temperatures were in the high 90s to 100s all day. Despite the unpleasant weather, Chris's team would arrive on time every day and work with no complaints. The workspace was always kept clean and organized at the end of each day; upon finishing, they made sure the surrounding area was extra clean. The most surprising thing is, the team was able to finish the project in a week, a whole week faster than the original 2 week estimate! It is amazing how quickly yet masterfully they were able to complete the work in these summer conditions, and we thank them for all their hard work (not to mention that they were able to start work a day or two after Chris's appraisal). His team is also very flexible. We initially weren't planning on repainting our garage since it was newer, but after seeing how it looked with the new colors, we decided we wanted to repaint it as well. Even though they were wrapping up when we asked them, they were able to immediately purchase the needed paint and still finish on the same day! We cannot more highly recommend Exterior Specialists to work on your house: you won't be disappointed!

Luis did a great job on a tricky exterior stucco repair on a rooftop patio. The recent heavy rain…read morein LA at the beginning of the year revealed a bad leak at an exterior wall corner that led to deterioration of the substrate to the point where water was entering the house. The exterior wall and substrate needed to be rebuilt correctly and sealed properly so the leak wouldn't reoccur. Luis was clear about the scope and communicated well throughout. He handled the prep the right way (paper/lath, corner and bottom section repair, sealing/flashing details, etc.) and then applied the stucco in stages. The finish came out clean and professional. What I appreciated most: Luis is detail-oriented and cared about getting the final look right. He didn't just paint the new wall -- he also painted a pre-existing, adjoining wall so the color match would be seamless. The blend came out excellent and the whole area now looks intentional, not like a patch. Fair pricing, solid workmanship, great attention to detail and follow-through. I'd hire Luis again and highly recommend him for stucco work.
