Long post, but please read. Do not go here!!!!!! If I could give 0 stars I would, or negative stars! My best friend heard about this place from a Facebook page and said the 'Nail Daddy' always does a good job. So we went to check it out. Went in there, things were chaotic, with only 2 people working, and was asked to come back in an hour, when more staff would be there. Fine. No problem. This was about 1:30. We came back but 2:30 and was then asked to sit down, they will be with us shortly. Almost an hour later, a male employee brought my best friend into a room, then finally 20 min later, I was brought into a different room for a pedi. To say this place was unprofessional, doesn't even cover it. The room wasn't even completed, there was no molding on the bottom of the walls, just unpainted drywall and holes in the walls. All of the employees found it acceptable to vape in front of customers and you could tell they were probably all family or really close friends. Then the lady did my pedicure, and then she told me I had horrible calluses and would need extra treatment, I agreed, but shortly after, my right foot began to hurt and she pointed at a sore and claimed I already had a sore. I DID NOT. She rubbed them so hard, I now have an open sore on my heel and it's very painful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Then, the male employee did my manicure, and he was very nice and seemed confident in the design choice I made.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I feel like an amateur could do about the same job, when this man claimed to have been doing nails for 6 years. if I could rate 0 I would. The woman I had was very rough. She grabbed my arm so hard and twisted my hands and made me feel so uncomfortable. She hurt me multiple times and my nails turned out horrible. I moved down to Louisville during the pandemic and this place, being in Indiana, opened up before Kentucky salons in 2020. I have been going here ever since. At the time, I knew that their prices were low because it is a small salon that is offering exactly what you pay for and I was completely okay with that fact. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I developed a great client relationship with Sandy and typically only booked with her.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had previously lived in Chicago and was used to being able to show my tech an inspirational photo that they would very closely mimic. I quickly learned that outside of Anne, whom is always fully booked or constantly unavailable, no one here can offer modern designs or styles. Again, at the time their pricing reflected this lack of skill. The vibe is very relaxed, everyone here seems to be related or close friends and I've grown to love the atmosphere despite its outdated and "cheap" atmosphere. I am not one to venture out for beauty services because it just makes me anxious and this place was good enough and extremely affordable. Until recently. Their price point is still under a typical salon, but is now not worth the results they are able to deliver. I have never left here with my tips fully matching in length. I also Always leave with at least a nail tip or two that I have to file myself to get it straight because there's always a slant from them being cut incorrectly. I've also tried asking for a basic design a few times (a single small black heart on one nail once...) and what I ended up with is always the same -- not at all what I expected. They just dipped a tiny paint brush with only a few strands left in it and done that extremely old school feathery pin stripe type design. I hate being confrontational and I just smiled and paid for them anyway. I just knew to never expect anything more than a full color, as even asking for ombré is being what any of the techs could achieve. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Recently I popped in because I broke a nail and had an event to attend the very next day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It was the first time in years I didn't have a set time to have Sandy do my nails and had to go to a different tech I've never had do my nails. The woman had a pixie haircut and was the first chair on the right side of the salon. This is where my relationship with this business ended. Since they don't do designs I picked out a solid pink color and sat for my fill. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This woman seemed very annoyed with how I held my hands out the entire time, she kept adjusting me and would force my fingers up or down way more than anyone who's ever done my nails.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I've been getting acrylic nail fills and full sets since I was 13 years old, so it was a little jarring but I figured she's human and maybe having a bad day. She filed down my nails to remove the existing gel polish and the tops of a couple of my nails felt like she was going to drill right through. The heat made me pull my hand away a few times from the unexpected pain. Again, she was annoyed by this. Moving onto my cuticles, she had six of my fingers bleeding. We get through most of the fill process and it's time to file my crooked acrylic coffin shaped nails. She filed into the sides of three of my fingers and they also began to bleed. The top coat of my nails literally had my own blood visibly hardened on two of my fingers. I just wanted to be done. My fingers were throbbing. I paid and left a 20% tip because again, I hate confrontation and understood that I was coming into a dingy local nail salon full of techs stuck in the 1990s. Once I got home... I went to wash my hands. I actually wasn't asked to wash my hands during the entire nail process so it was my first hand washing after having this set done. It was absolutely excruciating. My fingers were all stinging and throbbing. The next day I attempted to do dishes and had to stop from the pain. I developed scabs on four fingers and the ones that had open cuts from being filed into the skin were unbearable. Just existing was painful. This lasted a good four days before I was finally able to shower and do dishes without intense pain. I cannot stress enough how much pain my fingers experienced. It was so painful and the first time in over 20 years of consistently getting my nails done having anything like this happen. My husband told me he would not allow me to go back and offered to go with me to a new local place to ease my anxiety, just because he saw how much pain I was in for ugly nails. Overall, this place just isn't it. I feel awful because the people here really are very sweet. But their work is just awful, and my last experience there is something I wouldn't wish on anyone ever. Love the whole crew there! Linda is good at pedis and eyebrows! Every time I've had my nails done they've come out great! Definitely recommend this place! Also, the man that everyone has been complaining about in their reviews is a great person. Just because you want to have full blown conversations to a nail tech while they are performing a service, does not mean they are unfriendly. Not everyone is comfortable with speaking to people they do not know, being in the service industry or not. Funny thing is he is actually more of an entertainer than a nail tech. He's always performing karaoke for the clients when I'm there, which includes disco lights! And no I'm not related. I've been going here for years, never had a bad experience. read more

Let me start by saying I've worked in the service industry for years; I know people can be difficult, so I always try to give staff the benefit of the doubt whenever I try somewhere new. Main point: I very rarely leave negative reviews unless they're earned. This place, however, earned it. To start, the place is messy, dusty, and old. The carpet was grungy, and even the nail polish on the rack was old (I'll explain further, later). It smelled musty, and not like cleaning supply at all. No ethyl alcohol, or sanitizer, or anything, which makes me think it just isn't being used. They would go on to use a blue tablet when I got my feet soaked, luckily, but it isn't quite enough to sell me on the sanitation. I should have known walking in that if they didn't put any attention to the decor, that the experience would continue on in a lackadaisical manner. However, like the inexperienced youth that I am, I was optimistic. When the man finally grunted for me to choose the color for my pedicure, I noticed the color options were incredibly limited, and that many of them looked old. The salon was busy, so I waited about 45 minutes before I could start. I was more than understanding, however, because I hadn't made an appointment. The man who did my toes did not speak, smile, or even make eye contact with me once through the entire pedicure. In fact, he had earbuds in to avoid any sort of socialization whatsoever. Not that I expected to be best friends with the guy, but my God, I pay to be here, and if you acknowledge me I'll tip well, so...please try? I'm a customer! It was totally unacceptable. Not to mention, when he began to paint my nails, the color I'd chosen was apparently so old he needed to apply thinner. Of course, this isn't illegal, but it's a red flag that everything is outdated and not well maintained. A professional salon would not have had to do this at all. Then, the icing on the cake? He applied no base coat to my toes. I was in shock, foreseeing my inevitable future with yellowed nail beds. He just tried his best to apply old, thick polish to my toes and get me out as quickly as possible. My passive aggressive nature made sure I never complained. It just willed him into the trap to keep screwing up if his standards were so low, which they were. And now, here we are, folks. (Worth mention, he finally smiled slightly when I paid. Thanks, I guess. You earned another star.) My nails dried completely, looked decent, and when I got home they had smudged because the polish was still so old. I walk into the building and there was no wait. I had an issue with my previous nail because half of my real nail had broken off. It was an open wound and the man continued to touch if to see if it hurt. I felt uncomfortable. I drove 30 miles to come here for my prom nails. The woman who did my nails would not fix what I wanted her to. She would get angry when I asked her to make a correction. My nails are not the same length and the French tips are all different lengths. I asked for almond and they are pointy and lopsided. I asked for black color to match my dress, and half are still see through. I'm very disappointed because I wanted these to be great for pictures. I'm never stepping foot into this building again. Also the location by a smoke shop?? No thank you. My friends nails also turned out terrible. One made my friend bleed and the other would just walk away and stand and look outside the window instead of doing her nails. Bad bad bad. read more

End price was $10 more than original, and nothing was added. This is where I use to go all the time to get my nails done, I haven't been in years, but My husband got my daughter and I a gift certificate for here so I could take her to get her first set of nails. All we asked for was 2 full sets, I wanted basic white tips with pink clean top coat and my daughter wanted purple tips with pink clear top coat. I was told $25 each. We set an appt. And still had to wait 15 minutes for them to start hers, then mine was 15 minutes after that at the other end of the salon. The man was just standing in The corner the whole time. I told him the shape I wanted and the colors. He said "later" then before he applied top coat he told me i needed to pay, I said i didn't get the pink clear top coat. He said I had to pay first, mind you, no one else 0aod u til they were leaving once he started applying top coat it wasn't pink clear so I lethim continue and when he tried to put the UV light on I said this isn't pink clear. He acted like I hadn't said it t times before. He removed the clear and applied the correct but whe he jerked the UV light off, he smudged my thumb, so I had to ask him to fix it. I walked over to see my daughter who had no idea what to do and hers was smudged, so I had to ask for them to fix hers. We finished around 5 and by 9 that night my white tips were turning yellow tinted and the edges were already pulling away like my nails were a month old. Never going back. read more
