I recently moved to Newberg from Portland and I was in dire need for a pedi. I found Pro Nails on yelp and since it already had a good rating, I thought I would give it a shot. When I walked in, I was pleasently greeted and asked to sign in and pick a color from their wide array of polishes. The young man (I didn't catch his name) led me to my chair and suggested how I should sit, for my safety. Throughout the entire visit, he was very sweet and concerned, asking if he was applying the right amount of pressure or asking if items were too hot. Very considerate. They also offered water and tried to make me as comfortable as possible. To top it all off, a deluxe pedi (about 1 hour), was only $30. I added on nail art and a file kit which made my total only $36. This was amazing! In Portland, the average deluxe pedi is roughly $50. I would highly recommend Pro Nails. As a tip, try to go in the evening since he stated he already did 10 pedicures today, that way, you won't have to wait. read more

Great service, people and atmosphere. I have been working in Newberg since January and have tried a couple other places in town. For a manicure and pedicure, Pro Nails, by far has done the best job. I recently had my nails done at Pro nails for an upcoming trip I was going on. I went with the dip because she told me it was stronger and would last better than shellac. I also had a pedicure done at the same time. I left happy, they looked great. I left for my trip 3 days later and the day I got on the cruise ship two of my finger nails had chipped and my pedicure looked horrible. I called when I returned. They said they had a 2 week policy and it was 2 days after that, but to come in and they would look at them. They said they would do nothing about the pedicure they do not guarantee regular polish at all. Then said they would fix my nails. I wanted them to take them all off and redo. He said they wouldn't do that but they would fix. They have 2 1/2 weeks grow out. I didn't want to waste my time and have them fix them when they needed to be removed and redone anyhow. He said I would have to pay for that. He was very rude and insinuated that he worked harder for his money than I worked for mine. I left there unhappy and nothing resolved. I was a returning customer and paid $60 plus tip for a dip manicure and pedicure to last less than a week. I will not be back. Don't waste your time going here. Elegant nails is way better, nicer and cleaner. read more

Not overally impressed about my shellac manicure, white tips are uneven and blotchy. Was given the manicure while getting my pedi, not the most comfortable experience for an $80 price tag. Pedicure looks ok, I did quite enjoy the sugar scrub and mask, probably the only highlight of the whole experience. read more

I have been a customer of Pro-Nails for many years. Kimmy bought the business in 2013 and upgraded the salon and the services to earn a five-star rating. The only thing I didn't like was a creepy, vindictive male employee, but thankfully he is gone. Now it is a welcome, comfortable business that I am delighted to patronize. I am from California, visiting family and friends in the Tualatin area and wanted to treat my friend to a pedicure. A place close by was suggested but when I read reviews about it I decided to check other reviews. I decided to go with Pro Nails in Newberg and made an appt. for Sat.6/17. Its a small place that's easy to find, has a friendly/accommodating staff and wonderful salon chairs. Sony "like the tv" was GREAT and my friend felt the same. I plan on having a pedicure there every time I visit the area. Their leg scrubs and massage are something I've never experienced in CA. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would...First off, I have to say that I dont usually do reviews, but thought it was very important for others to be forwarned of how poorly this business is run. My 16 year old daughter came home upset about the poor job that Kimmy, a nail tech, at Pro Nails, had done on her nails. I called and spoke with a pleasant gentlemen at Pro Nails, who said to come in the next day and they would fix her nails at no cost. Thinking this would be an easy, no stress fix, we went to the salon the next day where we were met by Kimmy. She immediatley, and without our permission or forwarning, started taking pictures of my daughter and I. When I asked why she was doing that, she mumbled something under her breath but didnt answer the question. Kimmy then attempted to take my daughter in the back room to speak to her with out me present. I explained to Kimmy that she was only 16 and anything that she needed to say to her she could say with me present. I may have understood her request if my daughter or myself had been rude or disrespectful in any way, but that was not the case. I simply had asked what there policy was for rectifying a poor nail job (that my daughter had spent her hard earned money on). Truthfully, the acrylic job looked rushed and it also looked as though this was the first time Kimmy had done a set of acrylic nails. Reluctantly Kimmy fixed my daughters nails, but not with out consequence to my daughter. During the process she nicked her several times, drawing blood and then told her not to come in and complain anymore...I couldnt believe how terrible this situation was handled. After all of this, I questioned Kimmy once again about the pictures she took of us and what the purpose was. She pretended as though she couldn't speak English, even though she had been speaking English to both my daughter and I earlier. This place is completley unproffesional and does a terrible job at rectifying their obvious mistakes. If you dont want to get ripped off or treated poorly stay far away from this business!!! read more

First off, the nail tech (there is only one apparently) treated my daughter's friends who came in with us beyond rudely. We all went together for getting nails done. My daughter she immediately wanted to upsell (not blaming for that it's a business) but she honed straight in on the coach handbag and Michael Kors boots. After this she ignored the other girls while getting their nails done. The French manicures had black spots and bubbles in them, then when pointed out they denied it was their work. The girl who asked for coffin shaped nails was told no because the tech thought they were ugly. Then she got angry when asked to fix uneven nails. Not slightly uneven but over 1/8 inch difference. All three girls had nicks but the one that needed fixed ended up with a pretty good cut on the finger to be fixed. The black spots they refused to fix or refund so both my daughter and her friend had to go elsewhere the next day as they have restrictions on nails for work (French manicure only, plain no decorations) my nails looked eh passable but the shellac peeled off in a week. read more

DO NOT go here. Absolutely the worst manicure and service I've ever received. First, I had to wait 20+ minutes to get my mani (I was about 5 minutes early). The acrylics she applied were far too thick (about 3x thicker than a typical acrylic) and didn't dry for a couple hours. I asked for medium-length, almond shaped nails. I got very short, crookedly pointed nails that were not flattering, uneven lengths, and different shapes. Another customer walked in--obviously a regular customer--and the nail tech talked to her more than she ever did to me. Feeling rushed, I said I was satisfied, paid my money, and left. I think because a regular was there, she rushed so quickly that my nails turned out terribly in order to get to someone else. Later, I just got to the point that I didn't like them. The color was wrong (totally my fault), and the acrylics were so thick that they didn't dry for about three hours, so i got a bunch of deep dents in the acrylic. I called the next day and asked for a refund--they didn't offer refunds but the boy who answered the phone told me they would give me a full new set. I walked in and started talking to Kimmy--the lady who did my nails. I calmly explained that they were too thick, all different lengths, shaped differently on each nail, and that I didn't like the color. I took responsibility for the color, but the lady told me that my nails were "shaped differently"--it still didn't explain why some of the nail points were pointing different directions. Literally different directions. She told me they were dry now which made no sense. She interrupted me so many times and never let me get a full sentence out. She was so rude to me and only offered to change the color but not fix the dents in the way-too-thick acrylics. I admit, i totally lost my temper and raised my voice, but she was being so unhelpful and rude, and i could barely make out what she was staying. She escorted me out the door very rudely. Trust me when i say she was mean and unreasonable. I've had multiple sets of acrylics and this was the worst and most unprofessional I've received. I was not the first to raise my voice; all I wanted was a good manicure. Don't go here. The owner is mean and her acrylics are terrible. Lovely Nails down the road is MUCH better and actually gives proper, thin acrylics that are durable. This place is awful. EDIT: in response to the owner's comment. I was never offered assistance picking out a nail color. I lost my temper (i admit and own up to that--not my smartest move but) only because I was being interrupted and ignored and no clear response was given--I stayed calm until Kimmy was not calm. I apologize for raising my voice and i could not see who else was in the store. I asked for almond shaped nails and didn't get those--the length was right when she cut them but they were filed and shaped so far down they were far too short and pointed (almond shaped = tapered oval, not pointed), and the acrylic she applied was so thick they didn't dry down for hours. I was willing to accept her offer for a different color but asked if she could fix the dents left in my (very thick) nail and she turned me down. I asked if she could give me a new set, and then a refund, and she turned me out. She refused to believe that she gave me a bad manicure. Oh, and don't worry about calling the police. I love this salon. Kimmy is excellent at her work and I can't be happier to have her right here in Newberg! I needed an acrylic fill and Shellac polish. My nails look amazing, she was very gentle and took her time shaping my nails the way I like them. Kimmy is sweet and we had a lovely time chatting. I came in the other day and got a full set, plus a wax, and a deluxe pedi. Although the salon itself is very beautiful and the massage chairs are very comfortable, The lady does not know how to do nails correctly, My full set came off within hours of leaving the salon, and when I got my pedi her idea of a massage was "beating my legs", then when she brought over the Paraffin wax, she brought the warmer over and asked for me to stick my feet inside, one at a time, then when it was done she took off the bag and placed all the used wax back into the warmer (GROSS) and illegal. So at this point I was wishing I had never came to this place, but I proceeded with my asked services in hopes things would get better, She took me back to the wax room, (never washed her hands or ware any gloves) then went to proceed with giving me a wax. At that point I said NO WAY, paid her what I owed (face wax excluded) and walked out the door. So just to for warn you all. This place may look inviting on the outside but the inside is a bit questionable. I will never come back to this place ever again. read more

I don't understand how this place has any positive ratings. I'm going to be brutally honest with my experience because I would not want anyone one else to have the same experience as I. I went in to pro nails to get a full set, I explained what I wanted and asked a few questions. As my nails were getting done I notice that the tips are lifting off my nails creating gaps between my nail and the applied tip. I brought it to her attention but she did nothing but say it was because of my nails. When I got home in better lighting I notice that the gaps on most of the nails had gotten bigger, parts of the nail surface had differences in thicknesses from too much acrylic to no acrylic, the shape of the nails were not square, the lengths were different, and the powder used on my "French tip" were 2 different colors within the same nail (I had white tips). I expressed my concerns and after a while of going back and forth she told me to come back and she would give me my money back, and take off the nails so that I could get them done a different salon. I agreed and went back. When I went back she refused to take off all the nails, and only gave me back part of the money. When I asked her why she only gave me part of the money promised she told me that it was because she took some nails off. Well I was really upset, she left me with a 3 nails total. Kimmy was not only rude, but she did not keep her word. Worst experience ever the total time lost was over 2 hours, money lost $ 20.00. I work full time and I'm a part time student, getting my nails done once a month is a treat, and I feel completely cheated! I never give bad reviews because we all have our off days but my experience there was completely awful! Never in my 15 years of getting my nails done have I had such a terrible experience at a nail salon. The only reason this review has a 1 star is because I't does not let you leave a review otherwise. Another thing that she was doing was going back and forth between me and someone getting a pedicure without washing her hands, Completely unsanitary!!! read more
