Unfortunately, I've had multiple poor experiences here, so I can't recommend Luna Nails in Sherwood. Most recently, I went in for a gel manicure. During the polish removal process, the technician used electric heavy metal tools and aggressively filed through natural nails. It was painful throughout. My nails were long, strong, and even, but they were badly damaged--left with deep grooves that were visible even through polish. Within a week, the polish chipped on several nails and one nail broke into the nail bed, so I returned for a polish change. I clearly explained my concerns to both the technician and the manager and specifically asked that the acetone soak-off method be used instead of metal tools. Despite this, the same aggressive filing was done again. Within two days, several of my natural nails broke off completely. This has never happened to me in decades of regularly getting my nails done. I normally go to a different salon and only came here recently for convenience. In the past, I've also had pedicures here that were very poor quality--rushed, with minimal attention to callus removal or cuticle care, and overly thick polish application. Given the lack of care and damage to my natural nails, this was extremely disappointing. I strongly suggest going elsewhere. read more

I came in for a pedicure knowing that people have liked coming here for nail services. Sat down and waited about 10 minutes with my feet soaking until someone came and started on my pedicure. Usually when getting a pedicure they clean your nails and heels and you get the hot wax and massage and the last thing they do is polish. Not here. Polish first and then everything else which seems a little backwards. The massage was very lack luster and so was the mint scrub, it was put on only the lower half of the front of my legs and a hot towel on top and done. The massage chairs don't work well at all, you have to push yourself back into them. They seem very old. Not sure I will be back, I've had better salon services elsewhere in town. read more

I went here yesterday and decided I would treat myself to the deluxe pedi which was 75. When it came time to pay, they said it was 90, no explanation. I also got a shellac mani and they uncharged me 10 for that because they said they used the extra hard gel...what??? They didn't spend time on my cuticles for the mani or pedi, so they look just okay. I've tried them 3 times now and it's been about the same. I am done going here. read more

My sister and I have visited Luna a few times now. As a whole we love them. Great pedicure services, I mostly come to relax and nail paint. My sister gets detailed acrylics. I recommend learn who the nail techs are because while they have some amazing artists ( shoutout to kayla!) there are some nail techs who should not be doing fingernails. They were super busy with prom season but the owner took the time to soak my old acrylics off and Kayla finished the paint job. The owners are super sweet unfortunately my sister got a tech that should stay in the pedicure station. Red flag from the start, popped her acrylics off no soak. Dont come here, one of the girls shaved my finger and toe nails so thin they started to break and split after the gel grew out a bit. It's taken almost 3 months for them to fully heal after this and my finger nails are still in pain, worst experience ever. OMG Best experience EVER!! And probably the best nails I've ever, EVER, had! The place was beautiful, clean and they were all super nice and patient! I called and asked them about average pricing and she asked me when I would like to come in and, although it was 5:45pm and they close at 7:30, they received me. It is a little pricier than what I'm used to. But TOTALLY worth it. The nail tech (Kayla) was the best! She took her time, and made sure that everything was perfect. She stayed almost an hour after closing to finish my nails; because her priority was to make them perfect! the results are always great here but the prices are inconsistent. Today I paid $65 for a dip manicure with tips and it took two hours which is wild. My nail tech also made my finger bleed from excessive filing( accidents happen). I was here 3 weeks ago and got the same exact service and paid $50 and it took maybe an hour. When I questioned the price the owner kept adding on additional charges that I didn't have to pay the previous times. All for charging for extra services if that's your business model but when it's inconsistent per visit that's not okay. Especially when the visit is over two hours and a nail tech draws blood. She "kindly" gave me $3 off which is honestly just laughable and still charged me for a nail kit. Used to love this place but probably won't come back. read more

I have been to Luna Nails so many times since they've opened. The service is usually pretty good and nail techs are friendly. I like the atmosphere. The last two times I have been I have been really put off by the continuous badgering to upgrade to a more expensive service. The owner, asked me four times which pedicure service that I wanted. Every time I responded she would ignore me and say that I should do the next service up. I listened to her try to upsell three other customers into getting gel instead of regular polish. When it was time to check out she kept repeating to me, "You're going to pay cash, right?" When I let her know I would be paying with card but tipping with cash she seemed disappointed and slightly upset. I enjoy coming here but I will probably start trying other places because the badgering just kind of dampened the experience. read more

Worst pedicure I've ever had. First she took the nail buffer and starts vigorously rubbing my toe with it, with the sharp edge right on my skin - she completely tore off the skin beneath my nail. Then she starts throwing powder on top of it to stop the bleeding, then puts my bleeding foot back into the water tub (which by the way has no liner) which is a complete safety issue. Then she goes to trim my cuticles and makes my pinky toe start bleeding, so she throws more powder on it. Then finally paints my toes, but only lets me sit there for a couple of minutes until she throws my sandals on, puts toilet paper in between my toes and sends me out the door. Now I have bloody scabs on my toes, toilet paper in between my toes and all of the polish is already smudging and rubbing off everywhere since they weren't dry. Toes...as the medium lvl got no massage or callous removal at all...gel and dip and they didn't even touch Mt cuticals...cuticles... no massage of any kind. she said doing the dip it would last 2-3 weeks...this is less than a week an already a chip... I love having my fingers and toes look like I take pride in them. I'm very picky with the quality of the service I receive. I have been to other nail salons that the technician is always looking around at the long line of clients waiting. This means that you suffer from the lack of their attention to you. I have been nipped and have several nails or toes bleeding. A big no thanks. This isn't the case with Luna Nails and Spa. Luna makes sure that you get the attention that you need. I have gone here since they opened and have continued to give more chances. Today I went in and had a terrible experience. I was upsold to dip by both workers, after asking for gel several times she told me they had the same color in dip and I finally said sure. She buffed off my cuticles which caused 2 of them to bleed, she dropped the paint brush on the floor and immediately continued putting it on my nail (super unsanitary), and the dip manicure has a bunch of jagged marks from the buffer slipping while she was holding it.
