They no longer have any light pink for powder gel. I picked a color and it was completely different than the one I had chosen. They told me colors change and that they have no powder gel that is in the realm of light pink. I wish they said that before. I feel that's a basic and popular color to have requested yet they could not provide so I had to leave without the manicure I came in for. I kept 3 stars because they tried to look. read more

I have avoided getting my nails done for a couple years because I always hate it but this was one of the first pleasant nail experiences I had. I got a dip powder extension and Amy was very meticulous and neat. The salon was busy but still fairly relaxing they did their best to accommodate everyone who came in in a timely manner. I had my wedding nails done here, and they do a good job with nails. However, they have NO system for tracking appointments - you make them online, but they don't seem to actually look at the schedule and accept walk ins that conflict - and they do not honor appointments when you arrive. Multiple times I have shown up on time for an appointment only to be told they don't have time today, someone is out sick, or that I need to wait an hour or come back later. Today I had an appointment to have my nails done for my honeymoon, but they cannot take me for hours and I don't have time to wait so now I will not be able to have my nails done at all. I will not be returning as I cannot rely on their service and they have no respect for my time. read more

Update: They fixed my nails and only charged me for the tips but not the gel manicure when I came in wanting both. The owner Amy was accommodating and understanding and made my nails look beautiful again. And told me I could come back in for up to 2 weeks if they needed to be fixed again. Called this morning for an appointment today. Nice staff, 3 binders of colors to choose from, but mostly solid and glitter, plus cat eye, a few designs, and maybe chrome? There are other options for nail inspiration in various areas of the salon. Pema did my nails- she was sweet and took her time. Thorough nail cleaning, which I appreciate, and I was in and out in maybe 1.5 hours. I paid $60 in cash for gel x removal on 6 nails and a cat eye gel manicure- cat eye is an extra $10. Quick shoulder massage during manicure was a nice touch. It did peel off easily which is a bummer, but it looked good, even though it wasn't the most long lasting. read more

The space is bright, clean, and offers an awesome selection of colors by Essie and Zoya. Would not recommend. Found this place on Groupon and called to make an appointment. I told the lady I found them through Groupon, they told me to call back later because they were busy. I called back later and spoke to the same lady, told her I wanted to make a mani pedi appointment and they told me they had availability the next day in the afternoon. She asked what I was getting and I told her it was the Groupon deal for deep cleaning mani pedi, she then changed her tone and said that she could not book my appt and that I'd have to call back. I like to discover new places through Groupon because I know that new businesses use Groupon as a platform for exposure and it is a way for the customers to take a risk and try out new places. This place seems relatively new but clearly do not want Groupon customers, which comes off as discriminatory. I would have really liked to try this place out because there is a lack of nail salons in LIC and am in search of one- and this was right across the bridge. Not sure why they choose to advertise their business on it when they refuse the service, but perhaps they should consider removing their ad from Groupon because it sure doesn't leave a good impression. read more

2 stars because they were nice and attentive. I decided to go and splurge on myself searching for that one place to get mani and pedi done. I began with a pedicure and upgraded to a 20 minute leg massage package. The pedicure was decent looked good and initially I was happy until I came home and noticed that the edge still had blue gel polish I now have pink a small speck yes none the less unacceptable. Finally we get to the massage and the timer goes on while still doing the final touches on the pedicure ( no big deal) one or two minutes) then the massage begins and I was asked hard or soft I requested in between and I swear all the person was doing was rubbing up and down. Now it gets better while I am in the middle of a massage someone comes over to begin my manicure then walks away and comes back again. Everyone knows the purpose of a massage is to relax that didn't happen. I then moved on to get Gel-x picked a color and it seemed like a good job although having seen this done on my daughter this place moved quick in less than an hour I am on my way with a brand new set of nails. When asked how long they would last I was told two weeks guess what three days later and one of the nails fell off and another was lifting. I knew it was rushed but was hopeful that it would last trusting the reviews. When I called to explain the situation the person answering the phone didn't speak English and I requested to speak to the person that did my nails she answered and appeared to not understand what the issue was and all of a sudden limited English. I found this place via Groupon and ended up paying for the French manicure service more expensive than calling directly to the salon. It's fine to me if I paid the price equally, but paying more makes me feel like being scammed by the salon. On top of that, there was a Latin, long hair female technician gave me glaring eyes with the unpleasant attitude several times once I told her that I bought a voucher via Groupon and asked about the differences of the price. What was wrong with her? Although I had to pay more expensive than usual, I tipped my technician 20% anyway. She was nice and try her best for the service. Then, another technician came to me and suggested me not to buy the service through Groupon next time, but call directly in to get the usual price. read more

It does take a long time (says on the website 45 min but takes closer to 90 between soak off and application), but she really takes the time to make sure it's good. Mine last about 3-4 weeks depending on my care which I feel is pretty typical! I usually pay $120 for them including tip which is pricey but nothing compared to the other places that do Gel-X in the city (went to one place that cost $200 for a single color). I went to Pro Pro for an eyebrow waxing and mani-pedi this week. I've been getting eyebrow waxings for years and never had a problem. The process was more painful then usual. When I got home both eyelids were burnt and very red and I was in pain. This never happened before. The next day my eyes were still red, sensitive and swollen. I went to Pro Pro and showed them my eyes. I spoke with both the manger (Todd) and the owner (David) and neither apologized or took any responsibility for what happened. They wanted to give me a $10 gift certificate just to get me to go away. Be forewarned use Pro Pro at your own risk. read more

My experience there was quite unpleasant. I had a Groupon for a no-chip gel manicure with "complimentary $5 value nail art." I paid full-price for a pedicure because they only take one Groupon per day. The salon looked nice and clean. The woman was friendly at first but her pedicure was just ok, I wasn't really happy with the shape and finish. I've had better. When my gel manicure was done, I asked about the nail art. That's when she blatantly expressed how annoyed she was. "Why didn't you tell me that before I finished?!" But I had shown my Groupon in the very beginning and they knew what I was getting. Yet she and the manager were both blaming me for not bringing it up before or during the gel manicure. And I was charged extra $ for it. When she took out silver and gold polish for the nail art, I told her I preferred white and it made her visibly irritated too. After all, the gel manicure and nail art both were mediocre, and chipped off within 5 days. I still tipped her well for her work but I will never go back there. They need better skilled workers with professionalism and people skills. The manager shouldn't focus too much on $$$ to the point that is so apparent she wants to charge you more for everything. I traded my gel pedicure Groupon for another nail salon's. One more thing, their Groupon price is not that great with very few discount. Considering my bus fare, I could've gone to any of my neighborhood salons and received much better service and quality work. read more
