If you are guy and dislike having to deal with yappy trendy young female stylists who charge you $60 to pretend like they have had countless years of experience, but all seem to be under the age of 25, I have great news for you. Aidan Brogan I found him a couple years back randomly and I cant think of anyone else who I can trust with my thick, wavy, crazy hair. (I had him cut my hair before my wedding... to rave reviews) The guy sits you down and discusses exactly what you want and then in the end will tell you his methodology and how he suggests things like styling, the way it will grow out. On top of this he is a very sharp and knowledgeable guy who is fun to talk to about his world travels, current events etc. I work in San Mateo now, but even if it was San Jo.. I would be coming to SF to get cut here. Bottom line you are getting someone who takes pride in their trade and is in it for customer satisfaction. p.s. The hot towel and massage thing at the end was akward at first, as I was never had it done by a barber. However, just like another reviewer said, it erases everything that is going on at the office. Terrible Experience and Lack of Hygiene at This Barbershop This was, without a doubt, the worst experience I've ever had at a barbershop. I had an appointment scheduled for 3:30 PM, but when I arrived, I was kept waiting for over 30 minutes. The staff seemed more interested in chatting unnecessarily with another customer than attending to their appointments. When it was finally my turn, things only got worse. As the barber was about to put the protective cover on me, he dropped it on the dusty floor. To my disbelief, he simply picked it up from the ground and tried to put it on me again! I had to ask him to change it because it had clearly been on the dirty floor. Instead of apologizing or acknowledging the mistake, he rudely and dismissively grabbed another cover and practically threw it on me in the most careless way. At this point, I'd had enough. I told him that this was not how you treat a customer, let alone handle basic hygiene and public health standards. The entire experience was unprofessional, rude, and completely unsanitary. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Armando is the man! I have been going to Pro-Style for over 15 years, since I first moved to San Francisco. I have never walked out of there disappointed. Armando has been my barber since the beginning. He is very professional and takes his job seriously. Always listens to the customer and takes direction. There is a good "barber-shop" feel to the place. Nothing fancy, which I like. You can participate in the conversation with the barbers and customers or just listen in. There is also a shoe shine guy there, if you need to get your shoes buffed up along with your haircut before a big meeting. Just happened to be in the "City" visiting from Sacramento and needed a haircut. I happened to be walking by Pro-Style on my way to my hotel just a block or two down. I called and scheduled an appointment with Nigel and he accomedated me right away. Hands down, this is the best haircut I have ever had !!! I have been going here for a little over 6 years. Conveniently located in 3 EC this is a man's barber shop that is perfect for the quick haircut preceding any special event or weekend. Armando is reliable, professional and most importantly a great barber. It's gotten to the point where I don't even have to tell Amando how I want my hair cut. I just sit down, relax and watch whatever cool movie they have playing. If you call ahead of time you can even cut down any wait time. Highly recommended. read more

As you can imagine, children are nearly impossible when it comes to cutting their hair! Despite that, Armando has done an amazing job EVERY time! He engages the children in lighthearted conversation making them comfortable, and at times, will even put a kids movie on for the children to watch! I have had my hair cut by Armando for over 10 years. I used to spend a lot more and came to the realization that I could get the same high quality cut for less at a regular men's barber shop, which is what this is. The barbers here are easygoing and you can chat or watch the television while having your hair cut.
