This shop isn't reaching any rating to me except its location is to close where i live. I took my bike to this shop and told the repair was a derailer due to it being bent. So he look at the bike commented on a few things then told me it was the chain. He was the expert so he proceeded and I left only to return with the same issue. He tinkered with the bike again and I still had a my issue unresolved. This place ripped me off for a repair I neither needed and he said was the problem. I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone who needs to trust him to know what your bike needs to be repaired and put in back running. My bike was taken to another shop in the neighborhood and got my bike repaired like I asked. read more

Stopped by looking for quality used bikes and we found this shop. It's a great small business to support. They had about 5 used bikes today (I bought one), the owner Pete finds them and fixes them up. There were also many new bikes for all needs. I've gone to other mainstream bike shops and have always felt uninvited. As a beginner I know I have a lot of stupid questions and to be honest at these mainstream locations people make it pretty apparent that they don't want to waste their time on me. I get the vibe, money talks but personally I want to buy from a shop I can invest time in. Today I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Pete at Pro Tour Cycles. Pete took the time to give me a full rundown of how to even think about buying a bike. The amount of knowledge he has is incredible and it is only matched by how polite he is. I didn't buy a bike today but I full well intend to visit back and purchase my first ever bike from Pete. If you were to consider buying a bike I would HIGHLY recommend this location. My wife and I bought our daughter a 'big girl bicycle' for her 7th birthday. The night before the big day, we tried to put it together ourselves but the results were less than ideal. The next morning, the bicycle was a big hit the only problem was the brakes were too tight and the handlebars were too loose -- it was pretty much unrideable in its current state. We needed some emergency repairs, ASAP! We took it to Pro Tour Cycles and they couldn't have been more helpful. Even though they had a bunch of repairs on the schedule, they took the time to work on our daughter's bike. They fixed all our mistakes and by the end of the day we had a very happy little girl learning to ride without training wheels for the first time. Highest possible recommendation! read more

Worst customer service. I arrived for my bike repair/ maintenance while the one man in the shop was behind the counter fixing a bike. I said hello, and he barely acknowledged me. I waited 5 -10 minutes without so much as "i'll be with u in a minute". It was like he didn't see me, as if i was invisible. I took my bike someplace else. Don't waste your time. Pete was very helpful. I had flat tires on my sons bike which I bought from a big box store. He replaced the tire and also adjusted the nuts and brakes for free. Though he had moved locations a few times, Pete at Pro Tour Cycles is the only guy I trust with my bikes. Pete not only taught me about my old beat up commuter bike, he got it up and running better than it ever has. Trued up wheels, fresh tires and tubes, fixed brakes, repaired spokes and derailleur, the works. He brought this thing back from the trash heap. Reviews were 99.9% 5 star, so despite other bike shops in the area, I went here. Reviews said the owner is friendly, helpful and many said customers are treated like family. Unfortunately, he was not friendly, seemed annoyed and very bothered to have a customer wanting to purchase a bike, and ask questions about availability and bike types. Maybe he was just having a bad day, or upset that he was out of bikes to sell. I was able to get a bike elsewhere and it needed work, and I tried him again. Same difference. He took the time to put down my bicycle multiple times because it's not the brand he sells, and is not high end. He took the time to inform me it was damaged and would make noise forever because it's "cheap." I hope it's just that I just had the misfortune of getting him on the 3 days he was not feeling friendly, courteous, or respectful. read more

I had a great experience dealing with the owner, Pete. He is hands on and listens to what ever problem you say you're having with your bike. I purchased a bike from his shop 5 yrs ago and he had no problem stopping what he was doing and helping me on the spot. Bet of all he fixed my bike like new.
