We recently moved to a rental home in La Jolla. The grout in the tile floors was extremely dirty -- so much so that my wife decided to check Yelp for someone who could help. GroutPro came up with glowing reviews so my wife called Charlie who came out and gave us an estimate. The price was reasonable and we set an appointment. Today Charlie came out and worked for HOURS -- scrubbing our tile floors and grout until everything was way cleaner than we could have imagined possible. The grout is now bright white -- just like new. Amazing job! GroutPro gets 5 stars from us for sure! read more

Don't waste your time, Charlie is very unprofessional. I reached out to Charlie and scheduled an appointment with him. 30 minutes past our appointment, I reached out to him to confirm if he was still coming and he admitted he had forgotten and he was already home and unwilling to come. I had to follow up with him several times to reschedule; yes, he put the onus on the customer and didn't hold any professional accountability even though he was the one that missed the appointment. I question why I even tried so hard... but when he finally got here, he provided a quote and left. I followed up with him because I had questions about the grout color and the scope of the project. He had told me he was available for this job on 2/20. I texted him and called him, leaving him a voicemail, prior to 2/20. Never again heard from him. I was never rude to him or anything; this guy has zero accountability and zero professionalism. Don't waste your time. There are plenty of other Grout restoration companies and they are very responsive and professional. Update: In response to Charles's comment below trying to justify his actions and put the blame on me. I told him my wife is usually still sleeping at that time and the project was in the master bathroom. I guess he didn't like that. I didn't suggest any grout; I asked him about epoxy grout because I heard mixed reviews. I didn't try to push for that or anything, was just seeking his opinion. And then I tried to negotiate, but I wasn't pushy for that and I was willing to accept his price if he would have called me back. I was trying to actually add scope to include my bathroom counters too but Charles never responded. It's ironic that he mentions respect because he never respected my time. And objectively, it is unprofessional to schedule an appointment with someone and then forget and then put the onus on them to reschedule. So if you're willing to change your wife's schedule, book multiple appointments, not ask any clarifying questions, and accept whatever quote he gives you, then you might enjoy his work. Otherwise find someone else. read more

Charles did a super pro job on our shower grout cleanup and seal. The grout was quite receded in many places and very discolored and he got every single line restored and sealed up. It looks new now. He was on time to the minute and explained how to care for things going forward. Highly recommended. read more

Charlie performed re-grout work for us on a 30-year old shower. He was very straightforward and honest in his estimate, showed up exactly on time on the scheduled day of work, and the results look great for a very reasonable job price. The job included removing a whole bunch of badly applied silicone sealant which had been applied by the homeowner as a "quick fix" (sorry about that!). We had Charlie come and work on our master bathroom. It was a mess and we believed that a complete remodel may have been our only good option. Found Grout Pro here on Yelp. Thankful i did. From beginning to end it was a great experience. Charlie came, for estimate..explained procedure, answered questions. Price was reasonable. Scheduled an appt. Easy to reach via txt..with questions etc. Follows through on what he said he'll do!!! Came as expected. Surprised me at the detail of work, no cutting corners. My experience with GroutPro could not have been better or easier. Charlie is professional, friendly and does excellent work. The white grout in my Master Bath had seen better days. I thought it would cost a fortune to call in a pro, so I tried every DIY recommendation I could find, i.e. vinegar & baking soda, products from Home Depot, etc etc and I just kept making it worse. The grout ranged from white to yellowish to rusty brown in places, SO gross. Now it is a beautiful snowy white, and I am thrilled! It's like having a brand new shower. Charlie also cleaned the floor grout (returned it to white after years of it being dingy gray) and redid the moldy caulk around the tub in my kids' bath--no more yucky black corners and patches. The prices was fair and well worth every penny. I recommend GroutPro without reservation. read more

I had a good feeling about GroutPro from the outset. Charlie was quick to respond to my request for a quote and showed up within 2 days. He was very down to earth and assured me he could have my tile looking new again. I felt like I had a trusted friend in the grout biz. Although he was very busy with other jobs, he was able to squeeze me in before the holidays. He cleaned, replaced the old grout and sealed the tile surrounding my tub as well as my tiled floors in our master bathroom. We are so pleased with the outcome. Charlie came out while we were quarantined and could not meet him at our condo. He gave us a very fair bid by phone to clean the grout on the entryway and bathroom as well as the bathtub area. Four hours later, he sent the before and after pictures and it went from yellowed and discolored grout to brand new looking. Our shower is 26 years old and had been treated by a former owner which left the tile floor black in many areas resembling mildew, as well as retaining water underneath the floor which added to the problem. It was disgusting and embarrassing. Now it looks brand new. Amazing. We had another bathroom done, kids/teenagers shower...ugh, and also brand new looking. Charlie is the consummate professional. He provided an estimate for restoring my tile grout in the kitchen (gray tile and grout) and bathrooms (white tile and grout). He also recommended re-caulking around the toilet because the white caulk was discolored. He explained his process, answered questions, provided a more-than-reasonable price (payment by cash or check), and set up an appointment. He is in high demand, so the appointment was five weeks out (and he is well worth waiting for!) He showed up on-time. He cleaned the floors first. Then, he re-tinted the grout (he is a master at mixing colors to come up with the right color - and did several mixes and samples on the grout for me to choose from). Finally, he sealed the grout. He is a craftsman and has incredible attention-to-detail. The result is that all the floors look brand new! read more

Fabulous job . Charlie came out to see what work needed to be done . Gave us a estimate explaining exactly what he would do . He did a wonderful job making my tiled bathrooms look new again and my marble and granite countertops sparkled when he was done . Best of all he told me what the problem was with how I was cleaning everything and how not to repeat doing what I was doing to prevent the same build up. I am so happy I found Charlie/Grout Pro on Yelp! The grout on my tile in the hallway, living room and dining room is 24 years old and had never been cleaned other than regular housekeeping. To make it worse, it has prominent grout lines so the dirt shows in spots that were well traveled or not covered by furniture or rugs. So the color of the grout was inconsistent. Charlie came and did his magic and now after 2 days, the tile and grout looks amazing. It is so clean and the color is consistent throughout. Charlie was prompt, personable, and professional. I was prepared to suffer and deal with this ugly shower shower we received when we purchased the home. We were actually pricing redoing the shower tile. BLLEEEEP! Way too much! Then I found GroutPro. Amazing job cleaning and restoring the grout in the kitchen. Made 25 year old tile look new! He also did a fantastic job in the shower, I am no longer embarrassed by dirty gross grout. The color match was essentially 1:1 and while the grout install made it more finicky - requiring multiple visits, I was satisfied with the outcome. Groutsmith's technicians are very professional, clean up after themselves and pride themselves on good work. It was not the cheapest option, but I think it was money well spent and in general I can rest easy because they stand by their work and if it isn't up to par - they'll rectify it to the best of their ability. I evaluated other companies and I'm glad I went with Groutsmith for my groutwork. Once I have other groutwork - I'll be calling back The Groutsmith.

Long version is that both tubs were ruined by living in this house 21 years which made them dingy, my mother in law's assisted chair set up which scratched up the bottoms, and our teenagers dying their hair which set black and blue color permanently into the scratches. One tub was acrylic and the other was metal, (determined by me testing a magnet). They both looked really bad and dingy and I was pretty concerned that the metal one was bound to start rusting out with continued use. The tubs looked like they hadn't been cleaned in years even after a deep cleaning. There was no shine. I was embarrassed to have guests use the restrooms, as there's absolutely nothing you can do to hide a bathtub. So I read a lot of reviews and got a few quotes. OBR had a good price to begin with plus they offered a 10% cash discount. I also liked the idea that they were so confident about the finish not yellowing. I have a few re coated tubs in a rental property that have held up over the past 25 years but they have yellowed over time and are ugly. I'm going to invest in having OBR redo those tubs in the near future. I only needed to do the insides. The outsides still looked shiney and new. Serge recommend that I let him remove the drain kit so the white coating did not get on that metal and that gave me the opportunity to run over and buy new drain kits (for about $25 ea) and that was the finishing touch. Both tubs now look BRAND NEW and have a very glossy, almost wet, looking finish. I am thrilled with the end result and feel I most definitely made the best choice in hiring these guys. I wasnt too concerned about the potential smell but if you are, the process is indeed odorless. Serge told me it might take around 6 hours but it actually took about 4.5 hours for him to do both tubs. I had left him home while I was out and had to come back sooner than expected since he finished early, and he was very gracious waiting for me to return. The coating only takes 1 day to cure. A+ experience all the way around.

I'm sure this cut some costs with remove/setup, but based on some research this is ideal as the weather can get down below 40 degrees where I live. We went with GVK due to this, the fact he took the time to answer all questions thoroughly and honestly, and they were able to install the next business day; got a quote on Friday afternoon and scheduled me for Monday to install the new system. The price was also very competitive with the other options. We did have a delay in starting as they had a mix-up on install dates and had to postpone one day. However, George called and apologized and offered a discount for the mistake and to charge our current system to help keep the house cool until they came out the next day, which I think reflects how he runs a customer focused business. When he did come out that day I had more questions about the setup and based on our discussion we changed the coil for more flexibility in moving the unit in the attic one day. It was pretty clear that George runs a solid business; he double checked they left no trash after leaving, his workers made sure to set up mats everywhere they worked inside, they let us know when they would be using louder tools (as we have a baby), and they stayed until the unit was fully installed which meant they stayed pretty late. I couldn't recommend them enough. George is really easy to work with, does a great job on the customer side and also steps in to do the work himself which is all reflected in the impressive reviews he has.

Charlie just sealed and restored the tile floors and sealed the grout in our hallway, bathroom and kitchen areas. In addition, he made a precarious tile cut to even off an edge for carpeting. I can't say enough good things about Charlie. He is dependable, reasonable and is great at what he does. He took the time to go over cleaning methods. The unevenness wasn't visible to the eye but really noticeable by catching one's shoe or toes on the raised edges. They also worked with me to get my other bath white mosaic floor back to white. The installer had left "haze" on it, then stripped the haze and discolored the white grout in areas so it didn't all match. Koszo are the best at these issues and any other for stone and grout installations. WE will be using them from now on! PS I am very picky as I am in the design business.

I Yelped and found Del Mar Tile and Stone and checked out photos and crossreferenced everything. He had stellar reviews everywhere. John the owner came out within a day or two (on a Sunday!) to look at the project and gave me a quote the next day. The project involved tiling on the fireplace surround and also into a cutout for our TV and the vent for the fireplace above. The quote was fair for the amount of work involved and I thought, hey if he's already there maybe get him to re-do tile in one of our bathrooms (a much smaller project)? I texted him a video and measurements of the space prior to him working on the space and he was able to quote the bathroom without coming back! Super cool. The quality of work is amazing. I am a detail-oriented, visual person and with the beautiful black marble with white veining that we chose (with a fluted pattern!) I wanted to be particular with what tiles we should use and which we should not. He was more than accommodating and we have a beautiful, beautiful fireplace now and a gorgeous bathroom. Not everybody could do this job. It was technical as a fireplace surround. The tile contractor had to use the right mortar and he had to level it out just right. As we homeowners know, rarely is your house completely true and flat and square everywhere and the tile had to be done to accommodate all of the imperfections in our visually perfect house. The corners and leveling had to be perfect. He had to carve into drywall to make the corner of the fireplace square. It was crazy and it would have taken me decades of experience to do this myself (enter John). The cutouts for the fireplace and the TV surround had to be perfect. The bathroom turned out flawless as well. John is an awesome person and was so kind and courteous to our pets (he told my dog Thatcher she was beautiful) and was respectful of other contractors we were having at the house at the same time. His son Hunter and his other employee Carlos who worked with him were conscientious, clean, and all three were just all around good people. Please see photos! They do not do the fireplace justice!
