With the change in ownership, this produce store is no longer something special. Many fruit and vegetables are no longer as fresh and the seasonal selection seems much more limited. This store was originally recommended to me by a chef, and I've been going here for years. Unfortunately, with the reduced quality and selection, I won't be shopping here in the future. read more

I love this place ! The selection of fruits and veg is sensational far better than most produce markets . They have beautiful organic veg choices and an array of hard to find / gourmet veg...like cardons ! Warm helpful staff who enjoy what they do, and do it with love and respect for the product. There is a nice deli section too, a barrel of delicious pick your own pickles, nuts, dried fruits ...guac, salsas...lovely treats, ingredients to shelf caliber for the home cook. I haven't been here for while and was very disappointed today. Quality of vegetables is 0 nothing is fresh I was very surprised till I realized is has change ownership. I will appreciate if we had quality and some organic opinions. Organic section is very very limited and like I said very poor quality of the veggies. Prices are cheaper than your local grocery store, so that's a plus! There was a strange smell throughout the entire store that was kind of off-putting but I am sure that it was just maybe some spoiled fruit that the staff had yet to remove. I had been going to this store for over 30 years. Even with the VP RALPHS "fresh fare" & Sprouts opening up down the street, I always made 3 or more extra stops each week for the best produce in town. The change in ownership has ruined this wonderful store. Produce is rotten or overripe. I have not been satisfied with anything I have purchased here since the new owners moved in. I've shopped here for a few years now and I like this place! Their produce is good quality and the people who work here are friendly. Soooo much better than useless generic groceries stores (i.e. Ralph's, Vons, etc) and cheaper. They've got fresh squeezed orange juice and a huge selection of nuts and seeds...I love their roasted pumpkin seeds (pepitas). They have good avocadoes and various fresh herbs as well. You can also find things like kale, swiss chard, rutabagas, and other unusual veggies. I'm not giving this place 5 stars because 1) the grocery part of the store is way overpriced...$5.29 for a small jar of mayo! and 2) they close too early...6:15pm during the week. Had not been to Produce World for several years as I had been working full-time and did not want to go to multiple markets for food buying. Just started going back to this little market a few weeks ago and have been so happy to see it is still there. Found those lovely "Envy" apples that only were available at Trader Joes (but without the bruises as little kids hadn't been playing with them like they do at TJ's). Marvelous fresh strawberries, great tangerines, unbruised avocados, and free samples of lots of stuff plus friendly, helpful staff make a visit to this little market a pleasure. read more

came here just for the fresh squeezed juices. its a small little grocer that carries fresh produce, nuts, and limited refrigerated and boxed items. i walked in, saw the HUGE juicer machine, walked right to it and picked out what i came for. Fresh Combo Juice (carrots, apples, beets, cabbage, spinach, parsley, celery and cucumbers). Pricing is as follows: 1/2 Pint $1.19 Pint $1.99 Quart $3.99 They didnt have any quarts left so i just bought a couple pints and a quart of just the carrot juice. The juice was delicious! Produce World is where my mom would take me to when I was a wee child to get fresh produce, nuts, and Jordan almonds. I love this store! If you can't make it to a Farmer's Market and don't feel like dealing with the chaos that is King's Market, hit up Produce World. This is totally a hole in the wall place. When you walk in you expect it to look ghetto only to find that everything is clean and fresh. I go here specifically for the veggies and fruits. They are of the highest quality and WAY cheaper than Vons or Albertsons. Also, they sell jugs of juice that they juice themselves made out of 100% juice. Its super healthy and really cheap, i recommend you try it. Last thing I love there is the nuts, they have it all. I buy roasted fancy nuts for 5 bucks while Vons sells the same exact nuts for $12 bucks! For high quality produce and nuts, go there. read more

I came because I had a group so figured it was worth a try. The reviews looked ok but after coming, it's ok. I'm not sure if it's when I came but the produce did not look fresh at all! The avocados were all pretty ripped already which I guess works well if you need some right away. I wanted a jalapeno but they were all wrinkled & pruned. The prices by itself was also a bit pricey. It was just ok. Maybe if you lived close you may want to go there but I'll stick with my Sprouts. The 1 thing I did like was the Jelly Belly choices. I don't see it often anymore so I was able to spend a lot of money on that. :) Not that I needed it but helped me reach my amount. I wanted hummus but didn't find any of that. They have a few staple items but be prepared to pay more. It's just soso. read more

1st: they juice fresh apple, carrot, orange and veggie juice. the veggie juice is actually delicious and its a great alternative to juicing your own veggies. lets be real, who has time to juice their own veggies? its such a long process, but its so good for your health & nutrition. so for $2 you can get more than your daily veggies in a couple swigs of FRESH juice. 2nd: "managers special" type section in the back of veggies that need to be used that day or the next for only $.99 for a huge bundle. perfect for cooking that day, soups etc. 3rd: samples! everyone goes to costco for samples of preservative filled microwavable food. i go to produce world for fresh fruit, salsa and guacamole samples! 4th: produce is cheap!! duh. only reason i took a star away, cuz the other items they have for sale are priced a little higher. read more

This produce market has been at this locale for over 20 years.. and It wasn't until last month that I ventured inside to see what was good and what wasn't. needless to say, I was very impressed by the variety of produce they carry. everything is fresh and nice looking. I especially like their oranges. they are nice and plump and juicy. You can get some nice Orange color looking fruits at a grocery store but when you open them they are dry and have very little flesh. Not in this store. all the produce is very clean and in good condition. they also carry one of the largest variety of nuts and seeds I have seen outside of mother's market. their chile-lime peanutes are to die for!! these are the real thing!!! I have not found any that get close to how tasty these ones are!! For anyone that likes AltaDena Milk, this place carries all their products. I was very surprised to find That AltaDena actually makes Ice Cream!! I never knew such thing. The prices are very reasonable and affordable. Check this place out. I recommend it. read more

I've only been here once but it was enough to be...not impressed. Plus, it's a bit out of the way for me. Yes I do drive all the way to Orange to shop for my produce at Produce World because of the large variety of fruits and veggies!! The market is clean and always stocked full of great produce!!! I came back on a Sunday when they weren't closing and experienced all the wonderful produce, fruits, fresh salsas, etc that I didn't get to see the first time. I bought a basket full of vegetables, fruits and the homemade salsa is delicious. The prices are a little bit higher, but the quality and freshness is so much better. The staff is extremely friendly and there's a great selection to choose from. They offer produce that it not available in Ralphs/Stater Bros/Albertsons. I will definitely come back and recommend.
