Came in for a gel removal and manicure. As usual, the nail technician used a Dremal tool to scuff the gel top coat prior to soaking with acetone. During the scuffing, one of my nail beds got really warm to the point it was uncomfortable and I told her to take it easy. Second nail gets uncomfortably warm - pointed this out again. Third nail gets burned to the point where I winced in pain. The manager sends that nail technician to another customer and proceeds to do a complete hack job at finishing the gel removal and "shaping" my nails. I paid the $6 for the gel removal then promptly walked to Planet Beauty next door to buy a series of files and a buffing block, and fixed what the salon failed at. Never coming back. read more

My friend and I went on Sunday as another friend liked this salon. We were seated within a couple of minutes. Pedicure was lackluster and so was the manicure. Polish was not evenly applied; there are spots where the nail is still visible. I've had worse but I see no reason to go back. read more

Worst nail salon in Ventura county. BY FAR!!! I've been getting acrylics now for the the fast 7 years and I try to always going to new places every once in awhile. To see what's out there. I walked in and it was PACKED so I figured that maybe it was pretty popular. The women at the front desk was extremely rude and told me she could do a fill when it was clear that there were too many people, extremely over booked. Leaving the front desk she sat me down and started PEELING off my nails one by one. And the worst part is, one of her coworkers passed her a metal tool when I wasn't looking that had clearly been used over and over again. I didn't realize she was using a dirty tool until the lady next to me told me. (its My fault i didnt say anything after I found out but still) After she was done torturing me anther man came over and started the acrylic process all over again. Stating that I "needed" it. I went along and waited for him to finish. I'll admit my acrylic nails with jel color looked pretty good and I did love it while it lasted. But a week later my ring finger nail broke off and what was beneath was horrifying. I had gotten a fungus infection beneath my nail and was eating at my nail. And now I currently have no nail on that finger. I've never experienced this before and its extremely embarrassing. I've gone to dozen of nail salons and this has never happened to me before. Some people are ok but I've had more bad manicures here than good ones. I come back because I go with friends when it's convenient. Today I went and the man kept telling my to relax and quit twisting my finger. He even bent it back after I told him that my finger was crooked. After he applied two coats of polish I could still see my nail bed at the cuticle so I asked him for another coat of polish and he was very huffy about it. My manicures here bubble after a few days or chip very quickly. Not worth the expense. read more

Pretty consistent work. They have a very professional atmosphere which I much appreciate. The staff always greets you and does their best to accommodate you when they're busy. It's an orderly fashion and they get you in and out without feeling rushed. I love their selection of gel colors..so many options from neutrals to super glittery colors. The manicurists always listen and make sure I like the shape of the nails, I would definitely recommend this salon just try to avoid the Sunday rush it's a popular shopping center so it gets packed. read more

Offered us water and cookies. We had the women techs work on us because I prefer women and they were all so sweet. The salon is clean! I like how they use the disinfectant salts for the water. He had to take of a new set I'd just gotten somewhere else, I didn't like them- they were too short and not well shaped. I'm only giving a four star because my friend and I went in together but didn't get to sit at the same table- but they were busy and I understand. Yet again though he did a fantastic job! This place is awful! I'm not sure why, but this place was PACKED when we got there at around 6pm. I came with my friend who recommended this place because her nail guy works here (which is funny because he actually ended up doing my feet and someone else did hers). It took awhile to get seated-maybe 10-15 min-which was fine. Once my friend and I sat down for our spa pedicures, one of the guys took my foot out of the foot bath and started filing my nails. Then he got up and walked around for about 20 minutes doing other people's nails. He just left my foot out and after about 10 minutes I finally put my foot back in. My friend said she wanted the "deluxe pedicure" which clearly states on the brochure that it includes gel polish. When she told them what she wanted, they said gel costs $18 extra and she wanted French so that would be another $5 extra. My friend argued with the nail guys and they finally brought this lady over (the owner/boss maybe?) and they would not honor the price on the brochure. She agreed to it anyway and I think it ended up costing her like $68 for a pedicure and then they charged us $1 each to use a debit card. My pedicure was sub par. I could have done a better job myself but it was nice to spend lots of time with my friend. We didn't get out of there until 7:45! read more

I've been here before to get acrylics and last time within at least 3 days after getting them done, I would have broken nails within the first week. I decided to give it another try with a mani and pedi. And talk about over priced! My pedicure was okay but my toenails weren't even filed into a nice square shape after trimming and on top of that some of my nails only had half polish on them making them look as if there was no nail. Onto my manicure, apparently cleaning up the cuticles is an extra charge! Isn't that included with a manicure?! The lady was like "I'll do them at no charge" gee thanks. Not even 5 days after I got them done my hair kept getting stuck and pulled. ALL of my nails we lifted (I had gotten dip powder). You could clearly see the difference in color once they were lifted. The woman who did my nails was friendly enough and I appreciate she didn't try to make small talk, but my nails are sloppy. I could've done better myself. The whole nail isn't even painted, the shape of my nails are noticeably crooked. I think it was because there was a wait starting to build up so she was trying to get me out quickly. I get it, but I was absolutely rushed out. She painted the last stroke of clear coat, threw my sandals on, handed me my purse and literally pointed me to the door. Had the worst experience ever at this salon! Im bummed to even be writting this review since I have been going to my nail tech Loan for a long time. I have even followed her here from her old salon. I've been loyal to this nail salon for a good five years and it's been great. But this time left me with a sour taste in my mouth. I was getting my nails finished up when one of the workers took a seat in the chair behind me. I was fine with it. Then, she watched TV and played music on her phone on full volume while I was still in the chair. It bothered me. I appreciate the long hours that the nail stylists work and agree they deserve a break. But, they deserve a nice, comfy break area in the back instead of having to take breaks on the floor next to customers. I thought it was very unprofessional and I would like the manager to please provide a better working environment in order to please both the customer and his/her workers. read more

Not going back. This place is like an assembly line. They rush you in and out so quickly and the quality is pretty poor. I called for a $22 (or so) pedicure. When I got there, they talked me into get the deluxe pedi for $32. I wasn't impressed at all. The man that I had ignored me the whole time and talked in a other language to the other pedicurist. I had to interrupt him to ask for Warmer water. After he was done, he walked away and left me there for 25 minutes. I kept asking the other workers there if I could leave yet and they ignored me. I finally had to move all his stuff and let myself out of the chair. I finally located my guy- he was already working on Someone else! He completely left me alone for 25 mins. I wasn't too thrilled. My polish started to chip 3 days later - and I was very careful about what shoes I wore and such so it would last longer. I saw the pedicurist using the same, dirty tools on other people that they used on me. I watched as the took the tools (that are required by the state board to be properly sanitized for hours) they just used on me and used them on the next person. They were very helpful. The whole process was simple and easy. We had an appointment and we're called pretty quickly. It was full so the wait was a tad longer than expected but they did such a good job. I had Brian and he really took the time and made sure I got what I wanted. I showed a photo to him and he made sure to double check with me on the shape and length. I accidentally had my nails lean too much to the side and the polish dropped that way. I have gone here a few times in the past year and a half, since it's close to my workplace and convenient for a lunchtime pedi. The pedis have been satisfactory. But I won't return because of a business practice issue. The last time I was there, the owner ran my debit card twice and failed to correct the duplicate billing. I noticed the extra charge on my monthly bank statement and had the bank handle it. I am pissed that the business didn't catch it and correct it on their own. read more

Professionail is extremely unprofessional. My daughter and I went in yesterday approx 3:15 pm for them to remove our acrylics and although busy I was attended to rather quickly. Chris was the person who assisted me with taking my acrylics off while my daughter had to wait. He started off by saying do I want a manicure and I replied no. Then Chris says, $10.00 and I said, all I want are my nails off. Chris says no, $10.00 to take off acrylics. I said that's fine. Chris began by using the electric nail filer to take off my nail polish. Then Chris began to cut every nail at the corner with nail clippers. Chris then took a nail tip from the box of nails and started to push it between my nail and the acrylic to separate the nails. When I noticed he had 9 nails to do so, I told him aren't you going to use solution. Chris said solution takes 30 mins and this is faster. Clearly, Chris was in a rush however he continued to take each acrylic off using this method, damaging my real nails in the process. Throughout this process, he would stop and pull out his cell phone and text whoever he was trying to get in contact with. Chris filed my nails with electric nail filer to the point that my pinky started burning and buffed them all to smoothness. At the end of the torcher, he put cuticle oil and asked me to go wash my hands. While washing my hands I noticed that not all the acrylics were off my nail, so at the end, all of his efforts went to waste. Chris was sloppy, unprofessional and rushing to get to the next customer. Thank god he didn't assist in removing my daughter's nails bc I would've not let that happen to her. I paid $20.00, $10 for my horrible nail removal that left my nails soft and ripped apart and for my daughter's nails removal. We ended up coming home and filing and buffing and removing the rest of the acrylics ourselves. No Tip and will not be returning. I will take my business back to Thousand Oaks where they know how to cater to clients and there needs. Stay away from this place and Chris if at all possible. read more

It's a nice salon and all but I got ripped off! I came in for an under arm wax and a nail color change and paid $28. If you look at their pricing the regular pedicure is $13 and it's really unethical for them to charge as they feel. The underarm wax was the quickest and so sloppy it was a total of 3 minutes and I had some hair left. Moral of the story, if you come here you might get ripped off. read more

I have been coming to this business for years and have never had such a upsetting experience. I wanted both a manicure and an upgraded spa treatment/pedicure. I believe the reason why we upgrade something like a spa treatment is to enjoy it, yes?. Well the older lady that was to do my nails, sat down next to me and proceeded to make any enjoying of my $35 spa treatment very enjoyable by arguing with me about what type of manicure I wanted in very poor english. When realized that what she was doing wasn't what I tried to explain and tried to stop her, she got very upset with me and started taking the tips off, even though I kept pulling away from her in order to re-explain what I initially wanted. She spoke in vietnamese to another technician, then got up and went to work on someone else who just walked in. Not only did I not get to enjoy ANY of my $35 spa treatment and was treated extremely rude, when they handed me the bill, and I paid it, they then realized that they under charged for the spa treatment and asked me to pay an additional $12!!! As I was walking out the owner who over heard all about my experience, who didn't offer me an kind of discount of ANY kind, said only these words.... "I'm sorry, about your experience, please come back.". I've been in business for 30+ years as a realtor, and if all I said was "Sorry" when one of my assistants or I screwed up, I'm sure I'd be losing a lot of "Referral" income that I never knew "I could have had".
