First, I used to work in the beauty/spa industry and as such, am a bit more critical than an average person but I try to be as fair as possible. I've gone here off and on for the past 7 years. I have had haircuts, waxing, nail services and massages. They seem to have a pretty high turnover rate and as such, the results are a mixed bag. Sometimes I seem to get good (and even great) service and sometimes it's not so good. I have had employees there on two different occasions make somewhat unprofessional comments to me (that I would expect from a stranger or casual acquaintance - not someone I'm paying for a service). I actually was just considering booking a service with them and went to their "new" website. I was quite surprised by it as it seems very "scam"-like and a lot of weird advertising and selling themselves (and it doesn't even list their prices). It does not seem like a website for a spa and it actually turned me off from even scheduling an appointment with them. I was so impressed with Profilo during my recent visit. I recently moved from Philadelphia and and was thrilled to find a place that rivaled my salon/spa in Philly. Alfredo gave me a magnificent cut and spent 15 minutes beforehand talking to me about me hair wants/needs. I was also impressed by the spa's open policy that you are free and encouraged to try out different stylists rather than just stick with one person. I'll be back for all my hair needs as well as to take advantage of the massages and other spa services. read more

I've been a client at Profilo for almost 2 years. The last time I went I was not happy with either my hair cut or color. I spent OVER $200.00 for the service. I have now found a new salon and pay 1/2 the price for a much better cut and color. The front desk gals are a little rude and made me feel rushed. read more

I'm writing this review because I gave them a chance and it turned out awful, and then I let them fix my hair AGAIN and it was still an inch out from the roots. The girl who did my hair completely destroyed it. It's dry, bleached almost white and sooo brittle when it's wet now. She left the lighteners in way too long and now my hair looks like a skunk when it's up in a pony tail because she made it so only certain sections were bleach blonde when I specifically asked for little blonde strips. I honestly HATE my hair now and I would not recommend going to Profilo. I will not return. I still can't get over the fact that she completely destroyed my natural, healthy hair and I can't get it back. The people there were nice and they gave me a little gift bag for it being my first visit that's the only reason it got 2 stars. read more

I have been a client at Profilo's for over 10 years. I originally went there because my favorite hair stylist started there and continued with someone new after she moved out of state. It's pretty pricey and I don't really have the money for what I get done there, but I have never left there without being extremely happy about their work. I've had the best dye-jobs, best eyebrow waxes, best haircuts all done there. The staff is great and I have never felt particularly rushed there. It's a beautiful salon and rather classy. They'll take your coat and offer you a drink as soon as your in the door. read more

These five stars are for Natalia... I've gone to Profiliio maybe ten times. I never book months or weeks in advance usually the day of or day before, I'm pretty impulsive with my hair, I love changing the color. As a result of my spontaneous visits, I've experienced a mix of mediocre to FABULOUS service. Generally, I don't remember the names of mediocre stylists, but when a good one comes along they hold a special place in your hair-heart. NATALIA is amazing!! She is professional and very knowledgable in her craft. She does color like a complicated chemistry project, the way she speaks about your hair, reminds you that she might actually be a genius and you are in good hands! Natalia's speciality is that she gives an amazing cut. She will work with you till the store closes and no one is left (has happened more than once, I have a lot of hair...) I don't know what she does, but she gives cuts that are amazing and full of movement. very cool stuff. yay for you Natalia! read more

I don't normally go out of my way to write reviews, but I just had a really nice first time visit to Profilio, and wanted to take a minute to share the feedback. There is a really friendly, buzzy atmosphere in the salon - all of the stylists were chatting with their clients and the clients all seemed quite comfortable and happy. When I booked the appointment, I specifically asked for someone who can cut well, I have very fine hair so it needs a very precise cut. I was booked with Michelle - she was lovely, very friendly, took the time upfront to do a thorough consultation. She did a partial foil and cut for me. I am very picky about the cut as mentioned, but I was very pleased with the result. Also, when checking out, they provided a nice little 'new client gift bag' with some product samples and discount cards for future services in both the salon and the spa. Very nice touch, and good first experience. Am giving 4 stars rather than 5 because I want to see if my next experience matches this one before going to 5. read more

Called this morning hoping to get in for a last minute cut. They were totally accommodating, and I was beyond pleased with the atmosphere and service. Christina cut my hair and did a great job--I left loving my hair. Price for a wash-cut-blowdry was $35 (I almost fell over, such a great value--I usually pay at least $55 in Cambridge). One star is being generous! I've given this salon a few chances and the skill of the hairdressers are far from acceptable. I've seen two different girls. Though the girls themselves were nice. One I really liked as a person. She may have not liked me as much. She turned my hair into a horible "blonde" mess. Another hairdresser did try to help but couldn't make it any better. The owner was no more than 12 ft away and was acting oblivious that any issue was occuring. It was uncomfortably clear to everyone in the area that my hair was not looking right. I was hoping he was going to take control and help these poor scrambling girls, ..... help me! That bothered me just as much as my hair being ruined. The owner wasn't even surprised or even bothered to see what the problem was. Unfortunately there are very few salons outside of Boston that are capable of producing quality results. Mishaps happen. I want to feel when/if it happens to me someone involved in the business cares. Good luck! read more

I have been going to Profilo for years to have my hair cut by Natalia and never leave disappointed. Appointments always run on time. Check in staff pleasant and goes out of their way to provide you comfortable seating, water or specialty coffee drinks. Natalia is a master using a razor as well as scissors to help bring out the natural body and curl of my hair. I recently brought my 15 year old daughter who wanted a brand new drastic style. Natalia listened to what she wanted but also made recommendations how to change it a bit from the picture she brought in to suit her hair and face shape best. I waited anxiously thinking she would leave either with tears of regret or tears of joy given the drastic change. She was beyond thrilled, which doesn't come easy for the typical teen girl. Got a gift card so I was obliged to go back. Booked a basic facial. As soon as I got in there, the esthetician started pushing a $10 upgrade. She was OK with me sticking to the basic. Then after I was done & fully relaxed & wonderful, she had a "sit down" with me to go over all the products. Tried to sell me on over $50 worth of stuff as well as booking a series of facials. Mediocre. The interior is fine, very clean and the decor works. The front desk staff was ok. However, my hair stylist did not listen to me when I said what I wanted and basically tried to give me a generic haircut... which did not work at all for my kind of hair. Disappointed. read more

I got my first brazilian wax at profilo and it was excellent-- very professional and comfortable (as comfortable as such a thing can be!) Sylvia did my wax and she tried very hard to make sure I was doing ok and explained everything step by step. I definitely recommend getting any kind of waxing done at profilo! read more

Great pedicures, great schedule. A bit pricey, espeically for hair services. They charged a full haircut price just to trim bangs.

I've been going to Profilo for 4 years and love it. They have a great program called "rising stars" which is basically stylists in training, and you can get regular services at a drastic discount. Highlights and a cut are only $60 under this program, and they look fantastic. If you live west of Natick, it's great to be able to get a nice haircut and highlights without having to drive into Boston. I also have gotten bikini waxes here, which are fine, too. read more
