Came in to get acrylics. Lady rushed to do my nails. Didn't do the cuticles at all, paint was very sloppy, and one of the nails was VERY lopsided. I paid for designs (1 on each hand) just to have her tell me she doesn't have time (after I had been there for 1 hour with her). Asked me to come back the next day.... we set the appointment for 2 pm. I got a call from her the next day to come in half an hour earlier. I agreed and showed up at 1:30pm. When I got in, I pointed out the lopsided nail as well as the bad paint job and cuticles. She agreed and told me she would repaint them, as well as do cuticles and fix the lopsided nail. At 2:00 she had fixed the nail, done the cuticles and had started to paint the nails, when I noticed that she is starting to rush again. I asked her what the rush was, as she was still supposed to draw a design for me. GUESS WHAT SHE TELLS ME! She tells me she FREAKIN has a client at 2. MY TIME SLOT. Apparently she asked me to come in early to book my appointment time, just to have the SAME EXACT THING happen as the day before. *deep breath* I'm not mad. Anyways, after all this she asks me if I can come again the next day to do the design. YOU THOUGHT! I tell her "no, I have work". And "why should I have to come in 3 times just to get any nails finished?". Then I suggest to her to ask the client she booked into my spot to reschedule (I'm not serious about this BTW. I just wanted her to realize that she wasn't treating me and this other client the same). She says she can't (of course she can't *insert eye roll emoji here* I imagine this client is a regular, the way they were talking when I was leaving). Once she said that, I just asked her to just finish the color on my nails and do a quick design like some lines or a flower. She tells me she can't do flowers (even though I SAW HER do flowers on the client LITERALLY RIGHT BEFORE ME). At this point I was over it, so I just asked for my money back for the design, and told her I'm good with just plain color. She gladly refunded me the $4, which I used to tip her, but LET ME TELL YOU!: I WILL NOT be back to this nail salon. What a shame that it's so close to my house. I would have loved to be a regular, but not if that's the type of service I'm going to get. I will not pay to be treated as a second rate customer. PS the only reason I'm not giving them a 1 or 2 star review is because once she actually tried, my nails turned out pretty good. Although the thumb chipped after like 3 days, and I was too lazy to come get it fixed cuz it was not super noticeable. Meh. Overall I do not recommend coming here. Whatevs tho. I went on a Sunday and turns out that there is only one lady working. When i got there she was very nice... until i told her how i wanted my acrylics. I told her i wanted white acrylics... all white nails. She got mad at me asking why i wanted that color. i mean they are my nails lol. She cut my finger like 4 times and it started bleeding.. she didn't do anything about it. Then when she was done she charged me an extra $4. She said because my nails were too long. They were honestly super short. I think it was because i chose a white color. One of my nails got smudged and she wanted to charge me more because she said it was my fault but all i did was extend my arm so she could paint my nail. The nails acrylics are $26 but since they're so cheap you are going to get cheap quality. Next time i would rather pay a little extra for WAY BETTER quality and customer service. read more

My family and I have been going here for probably over ten years! And the only person we will go to is Julie. She is very thorough with everything make sure you have an appointment though because she can get very busy. I've done everything with her from acrylics, gel, mani, and always pedis. You can tell she has an ocd with her work she wants to make sure you are satisfied and if she feels that it doesn't look nice she will redo it (this means her custom flower designs which are the best). My favorite things to get from her are pedis. The nail polish last over a month they never chip off. And the way she cleans your feet is amazing she even massages your legs and feet not a lot of salons do this anymore. As far as gel and acrylics they both last about a little over a month as well and here they don't over charge you. A few days ago I got a gel manicure with a pedicure for only $37! That includes the flower design she did on my toes. I have gone to other places and people even to different states and I'm very picky with how my nails look. And it's nothing comparable to her work. Okay these ladies are very nice! I came the first time and got a pedicure and I could tell the lady came straight from Vietnam, which isn't bad. It's just different for us Americans which explains why a lot of people complain she cuts too much skin. In vietnam people PREFER you to cut a lot of skin off, if you don't they complain and say you did a sloppy job. So naturally she did cut me..just once though. I brought my mom back and she loved it! haha...don't worry I don't get it either. Anyways the next time I came back I made sure to say that I really didn't want a lot cut off so they did a great job and for the price it was good. Again it's not the most relaxing place, and it's not the most pampering place but for the price you leave with decent nails that wont' leave a hole in ur pocket! I come here for pedicures because I'm always in the area and want cheap, affordable pedicures. I have nothing bad to say about the regular pedicures. I'm going to back track real quick. A year ago, I got a French pedicure and didn't notice til the next day that my toenails had air bubbles. I stopped getting French pedicures here and just went in for regular pedicures....until today. Went back and got a French pedicure and noticed air bubbles. I asked my nail lady about it, and she was gracious enough to redo the toenails that had air bubbles...but they were still there...For this establishment being around for years, you would think they would perfect their techniques. If you're coming in for regular pedicures, I recommend. As far as French pedicures go, I wouldn't recommend unless you have the time to wait longer to get the air bubbles fixed. I'm way overdue for a review. I've been coming here for 5+ years. I can only speak for Lily's work as she has always been the one who did my nails. I LOVE it! She is great! I saw some people complaining about being turned down when there was nobody there. Well, that is because they are waiting for their appointments and therefore cannot start a new job. I come every three weeks for a mani-pedi. I have natural nails and lately I've been using the gel nail polish which has made my nails stronger and the color really lasts! Great prices, great services, but long wait. Even though I call to make an appointment, I ALWAYS end up waiting at least an additional 20 minutes before they can get to me. That is the only thing that prevents me from coming here. Its busy even on weekdays. I don't blame them because they do a great job and at the best prices in town. They are very thorough with the mani and pedis. I wouldn't get a spa pedicure because its not "luxurious enough" to warrant paying extra. Wendy/Stephanie does a great job with eyebrows. If you are looking for someone who does eyebrows very well at cheap prices, come here. Its $7 for eyebrow waxing, $10 for both eyebrow and upperlip. The problem is that she is the ONLY one who does it so you have to always wait till she can squeeze you in. Horrible. The old lady could not perform my ombré fill so I just settled for a repair on one of my nails- to be painted white. EXTREMELY shaky hands. Almost 1 hour for 1 nail. She did not get the shape (casket) or length right although she compared it? Got acrylic stuck to my finger and kept scratching my hand to get it off had to use a nail clipper to cut it off. She said she was done but only used white primer acrylic -__- I asked for it to be painted white! And to top it off, I had to put my hand in the LED light 6 times.. I have been here for manicure and pedicure couple of times. I would say the price for their services are reasonable.

One of the worst experiences I have ever had!!!! My mom has been here before and never had this happen. I took my mom there to get her nails done. We were a bit late. We arrived there and went up to the lady to get my mom's nails done. The lady said it was OK to come in a bit late so we hurried there. My mom sat down and the the lady kept going on about being late and not calling in earlier. WE DID call earlier. We wanted to make sure it was OK! We were late and it was a mistake on our part. The lady kept going on and on and became visibly frustrated. My mom wanted to reason with her even offering to pay for any over-time that might come from being there late. The lady stayed frustrated and kept scolding and yelling at my mom. This was unacceptable. On top of that, the lady grabbed some cotton balls and soaked it in acetone. Then she pressed it so hard into my mom's hand saying, "here, do you feel this? this is acetone!". What the heck? Who would do this to their own customers? If the lady wanted to reschedule or ask my mom to wait a bit, she could have calmly said something like that to her. Instead, she wanted to treat my mom with such disrespect and even abuse. If you want to get your nails done here, don't ever be late, else face the wrath of an angry lady yelling at you a shoving acetone into your hand or you might get this treatment anyway for all we know. read more

I came here today to get a pedicure after I had such a great experience last time but unfortunately, I did not receive the same experience. The nail polish colors on the shelves were old and some of the color had already separated into two colors. They also have very limited color selection which made it hard to pick a color. I was immediately taken in and I sat in the office chair that was uncomfortable this time around and soaked my feet in an electric bucket covered with a trash bag with warm water. The lady that was doing my nails seemed sweet but very quiet and barely talked. She gave me the most painful pedicure that I had experienced in my life. She was really digging at my cuticles and filing my nails super hard. It wasn't even relaxing at all, with the pain and the uncomfortable office chair. As I sat there trying to distract myself from the pain, I was observing how everyone else was doing their jobs and it makes me really wonder how sanitary this place is. It made me nervous and gave me anxiety to even think that this nail salon was unsanitary and that there was a high possibility that I might contract something. As she painted my nails, it was looking pretty horrible but miraculously, my nails turned out to be pretty good. But I could've just saved myself the pain and my $14 and just done it myself at home. I don't think I'll come back unless I specifically make an appointment with Lily (the first girl that gave me such a pleasant experience). I still do not like the interior. I made the mistake and came here multiple times within the past 5 years. The owner Wendy is really nice and remembers all her customers. Tracy is the acclaimed best... she's not, she's just really really happy-go-lucky nice. She's always smiling and reassuring that your nails will come out nice once it dries. NO! Don't listen to her lies! There are a bunch of girls who work here and cleanliness is not their top priority. I always get a half moon manicure, which combines two colors on one nail. Tracy did them horribly! I don't know if it's because she's old and she can't see what she's doing, but I could have done a better job! This place is notorious for being inexpensive, almost cheap per se, but they always ALWAYS always cut your cuticles too short and tell you what looks best on your nails, completely ignoring your needs and creativity. I've had pedicures, manicures, and acrylics done here, no go! Steer clear, you can find a better place within a 5 mile radius. I LOVE this place. Even though I live in Oakland, I still get my brows done with Wendy/Stephanie every time I come down to San Diego because she does a great job - nobody I've done it with up here comes close, so I don't trust anyone else. PLUS, it's a great deal. They can get busy, so I try to schedule my appointments for weekdays before 2, or I just call ahead to find out how busy they are and make my appointment based on that. Pretty much everyone in my family comes here now- my mom specifically trusts Tracy with her ingrowns because she's one of the few people my mom has ever met who can really get in there without hurting (a rare feat). One thing I will say too - they are a really sweet bunch when it comes to their clients. When my grandma was sick, she used to come here to pamper herself and all the girls were so sweet to her and perk up her spirits. 2.5 stars I have mixed feelings about this place.... I've been here twice for manicures. I got a brow wax too on my most recent visit. Appointments: called in same day for appointment, still waited for 20 minutes both times anyway. Oh well, I'm not in a hurry to go anywhere when I come here after work. Color selection is not my thing, but they do have 3 shelves of them. Polishes looks like they've been there for a while, since a lot of them are half/more than half used. I only choose from the OPI or China Glaze selection since I have never heard of the other brands they carry. On my most recent visit, Sandy worked on my nails. She was a sweet lady. Although there were definitely some times where I was nervous. I was wearing seche vite top coat on my existing manicure and it is TOUGH to remove (only way I can ensure polish stays on me). She took a filer and started FILING off my nail polish before using remover to take off the rest @_@ My nails were pretty scuffed up after that. Good thing is that she didn't cut any corners and actually spent a lot of time on me. Before I left she even came up to me and put on a bit of cuticle oil on me for the road. It was a lot of work for a very low price. Too bad the mani bubbled later that night, but I'm strangely I'm ok with that because I typically paint my own nails anyway--I just wanted someone else to clean up my cuticles, hangnails, etc. so I didn't have to do the work :P I don't see how other people reading this would accept that kind of polish job, hence the rating. Stephanie did my brow wax, and while I do think she's pretty good at it (as everyone else says), she made one of my brows shorter than the other -_- Not sure if I would come back after this past visit, but we'll see. Something about this place always has me coming back, maybe it's the affordable prices, maybe it's convince (since I live in Mira Mesa). A week before my birthday I decided to get a pedicure, I called the shop & informed the person on the other end I wanted to make an appointment with Jennifer. Unless the phone calls are forwards to a house & Jennifer lives there - Jennifer herself said, "I don't work today" In my mind I thought "Why are you at the shop?" Anyways, I made an appointment with Jennifer when she is available which is the next day Monday at 6pm. When I arrived to the shop I was greeted by 2 of the 3 workers. I sat down and was instructed to pick my color, I did. After Jennifer was done with her client I was told to have a seat. Water was perfect; they protect the plastic machine with a plastic bag (looks ghetto but works for them). Jennifer took her time & was very through. I originally picked a pink/orange OPI nail polish but when she looked at it she suggested another polish that would work with my skin, which was pink/pink. I actually liked it a lot better. She said, if you don't like it I can change it. When the polish was finished I sat in the drying area for 45 minutes (my choice). Then I watched her complete another persons pedicure. I like Jennifer's work ethic, she is nice, attentive, detail oriented & make sure the client is satisfied. PRO - ample parking - plenty of colors to choose from including OPI - Jennifer is the best - workers are attentive - $1 off if you have own nail products (file/foot scrub/buffer) - $14 for a regular pedicure - Jennifer will do her best to talk to you with her limited English but will converse with co workers in Vietnamese CON - they charge $1 if you use their credit machine - no spa pedicure but they do an excellent job with regular pedicures - do speak Vietnamese but not as much as other nail salons When I got home, I told my mom about my new pedicure person & she laughed. When I'm visiting my parents, I always try to stop by Pro Finish. You can't really beat a mani/pedi for a $20 price tag. I've had my nails done by maybe 2-3 different people there and every one of them have been extremely thorough. But my fave (and my mom's fave) is Holly. She is probably one of the sweetest women I've ever met. Today, even though some woman was screaming at her because she needed her nails done NOW since it was her birthday (jeez lady, cry my a river and wait like the rest of us), she shrugged it off, took her time, and did an amazing job. I've never experienced more than a 5 minute wait, even as a walk-in. The "salon" is quite demure - not the place that has all the bells and whistles of a spa you'd find in Beverly Hills. But whatevs, they get the job done (in an hour or so). They have a wide array of O.P.I. polish - though I usually bring my own in if I'm not getting French tips. Bottom line: If you need a quick, inexpensive mani/pedi, this is definitely the place to go. read more

Fast forward to two years later (yes two years without a pedicure... ahh the life of a broke college student), and I had Julie again! Surprisingly she remembered me and asked me if I had been there before. She was incredibly sweet throughout the whole process and gave me another great pedicure. I was curious about gel nails, but decided to just go big and got the gel manicure also! They've been on for a few days now with no signs of chipping, so I'm hoping they can last at least a few weeks like she said they would. I plan to go back more often now :) And although Jennifer seems to be the popular one, a small part of my heart lies with Julie so I will probably be making appointments with her! This place is very inexpensive and the ladies are very sweet. Im on vacation and was yelping for a place and saw the reviews about Jennifer being fantastic at profinish nails. I made an appointment with her for 315pm and my bf also got a Mani Pedi. She was on time for my appointment and another lady took my bf. They both did a quality job. Jennifer takes her time and the polish looks great from the way she applies it. I always prefer OPI nail polish. I was glad to see that even the base coat was opi. It's been a while since I got a pedicure. Jennifer really knows how to clean and trim cuticles. She is very careful and doesn't hurt you one bit. The only reason I give this place 4 stars is because they didn't have spa chairs. It was 21.00 for a mani and pedi. Great deal, can't complain. I've been to many fancy places, but sometimes all the fluff isn't worth the money when you walk out and aren't satisfied. I was totally satisfied and tipped Jennifer 8 dollars. I used to come here a lot for Wendy and her daughter.. it's been a while so I forgot her name. They have really really decent prices and Wendy is amazing with waxing your eyebrows! She is quite blunt though. She kept pushing for me to get my eyebrows waxed because they were uneven. I give into peer pressure easily and got them done, I loved them! But geeze woman, my eyebrows aren't that hideous. Her daughter usually always does my nails. She's really sweet and I love talking to her! She does a great job on my nails too. Never any air bubbles, always the right length and thickness. I thought they were wonderful until I got a pedi from I forgot who, but they nipped my toe and it hurt really bad. I hate that I always feel obligated to tip 20%. The lady did not deserve it. I understood that this place was not going to be the most pampering place but I thought it would be nice to get a decent paint job. Too bad I didn't get that either. I like the color I picked out but because the lady piled on 3 thick layers of paint (not including the base and top coat), there are tons of tiny air bubbles on each of my nails. Its really annoying me and I'm already thinking of redoing it myself even though its only been half an hour. The lady was also very heavy handed. It hurt when she pushed my cuticles back. She seemed nice enough, or tried to be considering some cultural/language barriers. She kept commenting on how I look Vietnamese even though her initial guess of my being Filipino was correct. I went there yesterday at the suggestion of a friend--and her nails always look great. Well, I got the bottom of the barrel treatment yesterday. I went in for a pink and white fill, but decided to go with a color fill for the "white". It took TWO HOURS for a fill. TWO HOURS! Something that should usually take 45 minutes to an hour...not to mention, I asked for a cuticle trim. Well, as I'm sitting here typing this to all you yelp-ers, my thumb is so sore I wince every time I hit the space bar, and my pinky has a nice all-around-cut on it. Awesome. The acrylic/gel on my thumb nails is all uneven, and the tips of my nails (squared edge) is still white. Awesome. I will probably end up going back to my tried-and-true salon this week and shamefully ask them to drill out the mistake that is my nails, and apologize for cheating on them. Now, my friend who goes to Pro Finish has Stephanie do her nails and has always done a great job. (I didn't know this until I called said friend after my WTF experience.) I spent a lovely 2 hours with Julie. Also, they don't have pedicure chairs. You sit in an office chair with your feet in one of those pedicure buckets...for about $2 more, you can go almost anywhere else and sit in a nice chair, with an actual tub to soak your feet in, instead of a basin lined with a trash bag. definitely go elsewhere. read more

I just went in today and I got a seat right away. I was brought to a woman named Julie and she was amazing. You could really tell she really cares that she gets your nails done right. I got an acrylic French tip with gel for only $30. Pretty good deal. She was really friendly too! Definitely will be going back. read more
