This bar in downtown El Monte. The space itself is really nice. They have a great patio that you can host parties at, which they allowed us to do without a fee, but unfortunately it rained so we took it indoor. Food is catered from outside vendor. They are great. One of my friends helped set up this event. The people themselves the bartender the waitress are very nice. We tipped them well during the event. The disappointing part is the management. We initially were told the drinks were seven dollars and then there was no fee, but somehow things are trying to get added onto our final bill and I had to argue a little bit. Unreasonable and absolutely unprofessional and for that reason, I probably will never book another event here again. It's unfortunate that their communication sucks.

This place is very active! The location is great and has accessible parking. Great place to watch a game or meet up with friends. The overall service was very slow and looked like they were short staffed when I went. I've never seen a line for the bar get soo long. On the bright side one of the sweet girls was kind enough to take our drink order at the table during the rush. On a slower night I'll be back to try the food & catch up with friends.

Michelle was fantastic! She was friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service throughout our visit. She made sure everything was taken care of and always had a positive attitude. Great bartender/server who helped make the experience enjoyable. Thank you, Michelle!

What's up: Here to celebrate a coworker. I've been here once before but didn't get to explore since it was busy. This time around, we got to experience more things. Parking: Parking is available up front as well as in the rear parking lot. It's shared with the nearby businesses but we didn't have any issues finding parking. Environment: The place was busy when we arrived. The bar/order counter is located to the right of the entrance. There are plenty of high tables spread throughout the place. To the back, they have the restrooms on the right and to the left, there's the entrance to the rear patio area. They have several entertainment choices that include pool table, virtual golf, and roller ball (which is like mini bowling). You can also change up the music with the jukebox. What was ordered: - Old Fashioned Yay/Nay/Meh: Yay. Overall, this was a pretty fun place to hang out and grab a drink. It's spacious and has a comfortable vibe. Plus, parking is easy. Credit cards are accepted.

Came for a celebration on a Friday night. I ordered a Mother Earth Pilsner and they didn't have it. Ordered the beachwood hef and the don't have it, then ordered the Oktoberfest....they also didn't have it. Ended up ordering the Kolsch and the blood orange... why have digital menu displays and not update them ... The bartenders told me to check the taps to see what beers they actually have.

Came in Sunday before President's Day. Website says they close at 10pm. Got there around 730ish. Place was decently filled for a holiday weekend. Music was a vibe. We put in an order for drinks & food right away. Got a spicy ranch water and coronaita; both were well made and refreshing. Also ordered the asada fries and al pastor taco grandes. Fries were decent - crispy and a solid amount of asada, enough for about 3 people. The real star was the al pastor tacos. They were drool worthy. I would go back just for these. Around 8pm one of the waiters came around for final call for food & drinks. We were surprised since it says they were opened until 10. He kinda mumbled something about maybe it's just final call for food and that he'd double check, but that they were definitely closing early. We noticing they close the main door around that time too. A couple of girls walk up and the staff begrudgingly unlocked the door and let them in. Then they start turning off the tv screens. All fine actions if it was actually their closing time. Anyways around 8:30pm the waiter comes by again and confirms they are closing at 9 and if we'd like another around. We order the same drinks to make it easy. Big mistake unfortunately. Second round was bad, felt like they were rushed out. I didn't even finish half of mine by the time we left. I asked for the check and during that interaction the bartender asked about our drinks. I was honest and felt horrible when it turned out that he was the one that made them. Whoops. He was sweet, explained it got busy and ended up comping the second batch. He offered to remake them but we declined as they were closing early. It would have been a good visit if it hadn't felt like we were being rushed out before we were actually were supposed to. But I get it, when you want to go home you wanna go home. Unfortunately for us though, cause we would have definitely picked another spot in that case. Might go back to give it one more chance.

I left this place with mixed feelings. Went in to try it out on Sunday night, Yelp hours showed they closed at 10pm. We sat down around 7:30pm and ordered two drinks and two appetizers, were shortly after informed that it was last call. We couldn't get a solid answer from the person serving us as to what time they were closing. There were about 20 other people inside. So we ordered another round quickly, but were extremely disappointed in the quality of the drinks. Same drinks as first round, completely different taste. The bartender tasted it and said it tasted fine to him, but was kind and offered to make us another round. We declined so the staff could go home. The inside is huge, lots of seating available, open air windows and multiple rooms branching off from the main room. A long bar with seating is available. Pool tables. Clean restrooms. I would like to say the place is cool and maybe it was just a one off, odd night. The food was good and everyone was friendly.

I remember being entranced by the red boat exterior whenever we passed by. Sometime after 2007, the Galley moved around the corner on Rosemead Blvd just south of snow-topped sister Clearman's North Woods Inn. A driveway to the parking lot and a small, very cute fire station separate the two. The signature boat is still out front, but is decorative only; the Galley is now a huge space behind it and is pretty much a family-friendly sports bar. There are massive TV screens, plus some smaller ones, and much sports photos and memorabilia throughout. And there are a number of classic model boats, including the Titanic! The tchotchkes are of course mostly LA-centric and professional; I didn't see any collegiate items, although they surely show big college games in season. I remember The Galley service being cafeteria-style, and the two "tracks" you'd move your tray along are still present, but now only accessible to staff. Diners place their order with a person or at a kiosk, and you are given a number to place on your table, fast-casual style. There is a full bar with bartender and barstools. There are also cocktail menus on all the tables, but I don't know if you order these at the bar or if someone comes around to take you order. The food menu is classic and broad, with apps, salads, burgers, sandwiches, chicken and seafood options. We came for DineLA lunch, just as we did at North Woods Inn a few days ago. There were 3 options for lunch and 2 for dinner, all serving 2 people, plus 3 Family options that serve 4. We chose the Galley Combo for lunch and ordered it to go. It included 2 sandwiches (4 choices--grilled or crispy chicken, beef dip, Philly cheese steak), fries to share and 2 sodas. We also tried their beer-battered zucchini sticks and onion rings. We both got the beef dip sammy with everything (cheese, peppers). It was nice, as was the dipping jus. The wedge fries portion was pretty large, easily shareable. The sodas are refillable if you dine on-site. The zucchini sticks were identical to those at North Woods, but a smaller portion, lesser price and no dipping sauce. The onion rings were okay, not very crispy but the batter was light. Niggle: we were charged $.50 each for the ranch and blue cheese dipping sauces! Overall a nice meal. I'd dine on-site next time for the free soda refills, ketchup, mustard and malt vinegar. There are many items I'd like to try.

I got only 1 bite of chili on my burger, and my salad was wet iceberg lettuce with a little bit of dressing. My husband had the fired chicken dinner. The chicken was crisp but had no flavor; needed seasoning badly. I ordered from the kiosk. It actually asked if I wanted to leave a tip! But I realized that someone would be bringing out our food (so tip for them). Also ordered 2 beers from the bar. Again, I left a tip, because the bartenders were very nice. But next time, I'm leaving a very minimal tip when I order food. I wonder why they even have food runners. They should just call a number when your food is ready. The atmosphere is great, though.

The problem is that nobody mentioned this when we walked in. If they had been upfront about it at the door or before we ordered, we would have turned around and gone somewhere else. It felt dishonest to wait until the bill arrived to explain the minimum. Businesses should clearly communicate policies like that before customers are seated or place an order, not after.
