Vietnamese cafe that specializes in Central Vietnam cuisine (guessing based on menu) and has an elevated beer selection. I've heard about this place and been wanting to come here for a while. I am a huge fan of Vietnamese food and craft beer so this place sounded perfect. The vibe here was pretty vibrant when I went. You can tell this place is pretty popular. It was easy to get a table though because he was during a weeknight. The people here are very friendly. I haven't had in a while so I was craving the bun bo hue. It was well made and delicious. I got one of their beers on tap to wash it down. I really enjoyed my meal here. Definitely a place I'd love to go back to again and again, especially if I'm in the area.
I normally order the BBH and nem nuong rolls. BBH is okay, broth is a bit on the oily and bland side, it comes with one kind of meat (beef shank?). Nem Nuong rolls were the main dish that we always come here for. It never misses, always super crispy and comes with four big rolls. Service is always good. Seats us quickly, always refills our drinks, and brings us anything we need. Ambience isn't too busy whenever I go but I love the aesthetic of the restaurant. It's nice, open, and clean. Definitely recommend coming here and trying their nem nuong rolls. It seems to be a crowd favorite!
sat down around 4 pm and got our order taken quickly. After ordering, we waited quite a bit for our food. Our nem cuon rolls came out first, and we waited a little longer for our bun bo hue. usually pretty patient but it felt like 15 minutes before we got our bowl of noodles. on top of that, it wasn't hot. it was lukewarm which was pretty unsatisfying to eat. I would probably just stick to grabbing rolls from here to eat as a snack to go instead of dining in for noodles next time. Service was great though but beware on hot days because it gets pretty hot!
Summer roll is a solid place. The food never disappoints. Service is quick. And it's dog friendly. My go to order is the regular shrimp and meat summer roll. My son loves the banh xeo here which has mushrooms and squid. My daughter loves the pork chop rice dish. We tried the banh meo on this trip and it's pretty solid. Not my fav dish but it tastes like what it's suppose to. It's a plaza with ample parking and an underground structure.
Early Father's Day dinner for 4 at Summer Rolls was perfect! Everything tasted so good and the service was impeccable. We ordered a little bit of everything; nem nuong spring rolls (the best!), bun bo hue, fried shrimp rolls, banh beo, bánh xèo (crunchy, tasty and filled with delicious toppings) and alcoholic beverages for the adults (Brother Thelonious Belgian style ale, ube coconut ale, Pupil IPA). All the veggies were fresh and dipping sauces flavorful. The venue is open, spacious and inviting. Will definitely come back again!
I went to lunch with our friends and we accidentally decided to go to Summer Roll because the Dive Bar seafood restaurant was not open until noon and we did not want to wait that long. It turned out to be a good decision. Ambience: 4 out of 5 stars. Nicely decorated. It has a large patio. Food: 5 out of 5 stars. We ordered the spring roll of course since that's what the place is famous for. We ordered one order of pork rolls and one order of beef rolls. Both are very delicious. But the dipping sauce has changed. I remember the original summer roll had a thick sauce, seems to contain some rice or some starch but this time we the dipping sauce is liquid, not starchy. Even though it is still quite tasty, I prefer the original one because the rolls can absorb more sauce. We also ordered Banh Beo, which consists of many small plates with steam rice on the bottom and shrimp and bread crumbs on the top and a Vermicelli dish. All very tasty and refreshing. Not too heavy. Pricing & Value. 4 out of 5 stars. Acceptable price for the food. Overall a good deal Services: 5 out of 5 stars. They constantly refill out glasses to make sure that we are not running out of water. The waitress brought over not only the takeout container but also two fresh sauces in individual containers for our rolls. That's good service. They also did not rush us out even though we stayed for 2 hours for chitchat.
This plaza is always busy so parking can be hard. They have spots underground as well so if you aren't successful on the floor level there is that option as well. At the restaurant, you have the choice of inside or outside seating. I've always loved coming here for their Nem spring rolls. The orange sauce it comes with always pairs perfectly! Go up to the register when you are ready to pay.
This place is such a solid spot for Vietnamese food and rolls! If I lived by this place, I would be eating here everyday and getting foo catered from here for almost every party! I had the: Nem Cuon- This had charbroiled pork nem with shrimp. These rolls and portions for the price are insane. If you had an order of just the rolls, you would be full already because they're absolutely ginormous. The pork was nicely grilled and sweet, the crispy roll in between was key to the texture of the roll overall. The orange sauce that came with the roll was both sweet and savory. It was so good I wanted to dip it with everything. I can't stop thinking about how good the rolls were! Banh Xeo - Outside layer was oh so crispy. The fillings were absolutely loaded with shrimp and cuttle fish and other various ingredients. Loved this as well. Banh xeo eaten with the lettuce and herbs and sprouts was truly refreshing.
These rolls are actually so yummy and fresh, and they're a really good price too! I can't believe you get 4 massive rolls for $15! I tried the chicken shrimp roll, and I love how the shrimp is deep fried. It adds a nice crunch to it, and the veggies add a nice freshness as well. The chicken is also well marinated.
I feel like you could never go wrong with grabbing Summer Rolls. It's always an easy option, where the food isn't too heavy and still satisfies. I ordered the vermicelli with the pork and the spring rolls. My favorite is the sauce that comes with the spring rolls. They don't skimp on the meat either. I feel like they loaded my bowl and spring rolls up with huge pieces of nem (pork). Service was excellent. Our server was attentive and they came by refilling waters and checking in. The restaurant has a decent amount of seating but can get packed during peak dining hours. The parking lot there is always so packed and so parking can be a struggle. Would recommend though!!
I brought my friend here for a light, yet healthy lunch. We were greeted and seated within a few seconds of walking in. Once we sat down, the waiter brought us 2 glasses of ice water and asked us if we know what we would like to order. We both ordered the charbroiled pork nem vermicelli and I had to try their ube coconut ale. It's my hidden way to get her to eat a salad...lol. Ube coconut ale was very delicious, not too sweet. The restaurant in a very busy plaza with a variety of different restaurants. Having Summer Rolls here adds Vietnamese cuisine to the plaza. Since there's a Japanese hotpot, Korean bbq, creole seafood, Chinese boba and dessert shops in the same plaza. I'll definitely be coming back.
Came here on a Sunday afternoon (around 1:15pm) and it was busy, we got sat closer to 2pm. Food at Summer Rolls is always solid but service was lacking. Ambiance is okay, feels a bit hectic & bathroom is a mess with it being used partially as storage.
Summer Rolls was on my try list for a very long time and I was pretty amazed by the quality of food when I first tried it. My wife recommended me this spot and we we're able to try it on a busy brunch date. Upon arriving, we we're seated inside, there's plenty of outdoor seating and there are many people who come here for take out as well. Combined with the outdoor seating, there's plenty of seating for duos, or big groups. Restaurant itself is pretty clean and with the holiday decorations it was a very chill vibe overall. Staff here is very quick, we placed our orders as soon as we seated, water refills were quick and often and after we ordered, the food came out fairly quickly and all at the same time. Very impressed. We were interested in plenty of items but we narrowed it down to three specifics to try on this occassion. -- Nem Nuong Cuon Voi Cha Ram Tom (Pork Summer Rolls with Shrimp Egg Rolls) (4 PIECES) -- A staple classic dish, can't go wrong with this as this is one of their signature menu items. As classic presentation as it gets, and with the amazing presentation comes with that crunchy savory feeling. 4 huge pieces and comes with a sweet and sour sauce. Super delicious and very addicting. 10/10 -- Bun Nem Chua, Cha Ram Tom (Vermicelli with Charboiled Sour Pork Patties & Shrimp Egg Rolls) -- Honestly, very much a shareable dish. Portions are massive and very much like a mixed of all ingredients. Presentation is seamless, like a home cooked meal. The dish came with vermicelli, sour pork, carrot slices, lettuce, two egg rolls, and minced with some green onions. All I can is wow. The vermicelli can be a bit bunched together but after mixing it around with the fish sauce provided, the flavoring is very much there. It's a good mix of savory, salty, sweet, and sour. My wife and I both enjoyed this dish very much. 10/10 -- Com Tam Bo Nuong Xa (Rice Plate with Lemongrass Beef) -- Complimenting the Vermicelli dish was this amazing lemongrass beef dish. Plated with lemongrass beef, cucumbers, rice, shredded pork, and and slice of baked egg loaf. This is hands down one of the most tasty dishes I've ever tried. Like the vermicelli dish, this dish also comes with fish sauce which compliments the dish extremely well when mixed. Beef wasn't tough at all and very easy to eat. The baked egg loaf is the star of this dish in my opinion, not very salty and very flavorful. It was my first time trying an egg this style and I'm very impressed. 10/10 Overall, I'm very impressed with Summer Rolls, plenty of tasty dishes, friendly and quick staff, and just a very chill vibe all around. Absolutely enjoyed every dish, very excited to visit again to try other dishes. Very addicting feeling and highly recommend visiting.

We were craving for Vietnamese food, recommended by my daughter. Came in and seated right away. It wasn't busy. The server was really nice. Their menu was very simple but the dishes were served in a different manner compared to a regular Vietnamese menu. Started with Fried shrimp rolls . It was so good with the sweet and sour dip made it perfect. The beef spring rolls were good size servings. It has this crunchiness inside. Super fresh. The pork bahn mi sandwich was amazing. One of our favorites in SGV! Parking is probably the worst thing ever here. No one can park and they just jam the plaza. Theres underground parking which usually has some parking availability. The restaurant can get busy but we usually get seated right away (2 people). There's seating indoors and outdoors and theres a breeze outside too which helps w the summer heat even at lunch. We tried a little bit of everything and this place makes me appreciate the versatility of Vietnamese cuisine. Today I got the lemongrass chicken vermicelli bowl and my partner the banh mi. The bbq meats are very tasty and they use fresh veggies that give it the crunch factor. The portions are huge so I usually only eat about half. They also have good banh xeo, bun bo hue, nem rolls, and much more. We are usually creatures of comfort but have branched out to try new things here!! Another thing is they have a good selection of draft beers. I usually can't find Japan's Hitachino beers ON DRAFT so it's my go-to here. read more

After getting recommended this place from a friend, I decided to give it a try. Needless to say, it was incredible. Super authentic and modern Vietnamese restaurant. I had the Nam spring rolls because I heard that's what they were known for. It was so flavorful and packed with flavor. It comes with this orange delicious sauce. I also ordered the nem nuong and nem bo nuong appetizer skewers. They are similar meat that's in the spring rolls but on a wooden skewer. It also comes with the sauce. I was so impressed with this place because it's the first good Vietnamese restaurant I've had in the area. I will definitely come back and try their other items. read more
I had two dishes here and for this area, I think they do it the best. I had the nem cuon and bun nem bo nuong, and they were solid. The standout for me was the noodle dish, bun nem nuong. The meat was really flavorful, and everything came together well. It is a perfect refreshing dish, especially on a warm day. This place also serves alcohol. Not a huge selection, but a nice option to have. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, which is great depending on the weather. Parking can be a bit tough since it is in a plaza that gets packed. There is underground parking as well, but even that can be a challenge at times. Overall, a really solid spot that I would come back to. read more

Finally tried their nem nuong Summer rolls, with a thick piece of pork sausage but eggroll wrap was not crispy and veggies were not as crispy and crunchy as I wanted it to be. So bigger is not always better, especially at $14. 4 rolls for $14. Comes with either the orange sauce or fish sauce. No peanut sauce :-( I purchased take out and ate in the car since we had our boba drinks from Tea Station. Next time, I'll give it another chance to dine in and also try their other options. read more
I was in the area and saw that Summer Rolls had a second location. I was super interested in trying it given that it's in a really nice shopping center. That was my biggest mistake. I came in and ordered the Lemongrass Chicken Summer Rolls and they looked so good on the outside. They were such a pain to eat due to the chicken being super dry. I nearly choked once while eating it. The taste was good, the shrimp + veggies tasted good, but the chicken was insanely dry/not very fresh. I was also ignored by the waitress for a water refill and waited for a while before she came. The waitress didn't bring me the check so I ended up going to the register to pay. The cashier asked me if I had a good experience and I honestly told him the truth. He said they would try better next time but I will not be returning to this location. I was extremely disappointed in how this was handled. I'm giving two stars solely because the restaurant and bathrooms were super clean. NOTE: I visited the Rosemead location and was super impressed I don't know why they dropped the ball at this location. read more
I was craving spring rolls one day when my friend kept raving about this spot, so I decided to give it a try -- and I instantly became a fan! I ordered the nem cuon (pork & shrimp) and it was SO good. I loved the added crispy texture inside, it gave it the perfect crunch. The rolls were huge too! They come in 4 pieces, and my fiancé and I ended up taking the other two to-go because we were already getting full. I've also tried their bun bo hue and pork vermicelli bowl, and both were delicious with very generous portions. I honestly couldn't even finish everything. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating, and everything was really clean and well-kept. Service was quick and amazing as well. Definitely a spot I'll keep coming back to! read more
A few dear long-time friends of mine and I were here at Summer Rolls in Temple City to celebrate us. I haven't been to their Rosemead location, but I have been to their San Gabriel location. Thought we give this location a try. It was my friend and his wife's treat... thank you so much you two! It's a little bit smaller than the San Gabriel location. However, this place has outside patio seating along with inside seating plus it has a draft beer wall system behind the counter. What I found interesting was the restrooms, they are right near the front entrance when you walk in. Well, if you need to go quick, restrooms are conveniently located upon entry. Now to the food and service. There were 4 of us. We ordered 6 items... one plate per person and two plates for sharing. I had the Bun Ga Xa... it was amazing! Lemongrass flavored chicken was so good... I could taste the lemongrass and chicken was moist. Its portion was big... more than expected. Well done! Nem Cuon and Banh Xeo were tasty, too. Everyone else enjoyed their plates as well. Staff and service was excellent. Tony was very hospitable and nice. We don't know if he was the owner or manager. Thank you Tony! Plenty of parking in the plaza, but keep in mind there are tons of restaurants nearby, so parking can definitely get a little hectic during busy hours. Still, it's worth it every time. Even though they have a newer spot, we keep coming back to this location because we genuinely love it here. The indoor and outdoor vibes are great, we're always seated immediately, and the service is consistently fast. We always order our two usual favorites: Nem Cuon (charbroiled pork with shrimp egg rolls) -- $14 This is hands down our go-to dish. The sauce on the side is absolutely delicious, and we rate it a solid 9/10. Honestly, this beats Brodard in Westminster any day. #20 Vermicelli with Lemongrass Beef -- $16 Another favorite, rated 8/10. They offer a wide variety of authentic Vietnamese cuisine and drinks (hot/cold). Interior atmosphere was relaxing and layout was spacious. I perused their menu; I got a Charbroiled Chicken Vermicelli and Vietnamese Iced Coffee. Both were great. Staff were nice. Service was spot on. Prices were fair. The restaurant itself is such a vibe- outside seating options with pretty lights. The star of the show- the nem nuong rolls- are delicious. It is absolutely packed with the items making it the ultimate snack that is actually a meal. I am impressed with the crunchy shrimp filled stick on the inside it's so much more savory and meaty than brodards. BUT I will say I don't like the sauce as much brodards since it leans slightly sweet and doesn't have those chunks of meat. BUT they include a lovely side of chili which gives it a perfect kick. And since we are comparing, the rice paper outside of summer rolls is a bit thicker and gummy, which is not my personal preference but still good. The meat itself is thick, tender, and smokey and in good ratio to the rau. I'd absolutely come back and I'm curious to try other items too! Summer Rolls is my favorite place for Nem Nuong Spring rolls. They have another location near by which is in Rosemead, that's the OG location. The temple city location is the more modern design and they offer beer on tap. I usually get my regulars which are the Nem Nuong Spring rolls and Banh Beo to share. The Nem Nuong spring rolls comes in 4 pieces and is filled with veggies, nem nuong and the fried wonton wrapper. I already get full from eating 2 so it's pretty filling. The Banh beo is a good appetizer to share. It's soft and kind of spongey dip in the fish sauce. Summer rolls has indoor and out door seating, sometimes when they are busy, both are full. Since it's in a popular and busy plaza, weekend parking are usually hard to find but they have underground parking. read more

I was able to get the Beef Spring Rolls to go and the Roll was tasty and filing with their sauce. The plaza's parking gets crowded during peak hours. There's indoor and a patio area. Service is quick and fast. I often call ahead for take out orders. I always get an order of pork spring rolls. I love their sauce that goes with it. The charbroiled sliced pork rice plate is good. Big portion and I always have leftovers. I tried the banh xeo for the first time. It was really big, lots of bean sprouts. It came off a bit oily. I feel like the food is always solid here. read more
This was my first time here at the recommendation of a good friend of mine. The first server got our drink order wrong but the food was delicious and hit the spot. The servers came to check up on us and refilled our drinks frequently. Their menu has a good amount of items to choose from and is not overwhelming. Summer Rolls has been around for a minute but it has been a while since I have eaten here. Located in Temple City in the same plaza as Meet Fresh, this place is a chill spot to hang out and grab a bite with some alcohol! They sell some Vietnamese food options and tasty spring rolls. There are also meat plates and salad-style food. Almost everything seems to be paired with a side of fish sauce to enjoy your food with. I really enjoyed the chicken spring roll it has a nice texture to it all mixed together with vegetables and chicken. Service here is super friendly and they were always asking if we needed anything else! read more
