Before I even stepped foot on the lot, he had already sent me the CARFAX report and answered every question I had. When I arrived, Tony took the time to walk me through the vehicle again, making sure I had every opportunity to inspect it inside and out, under the hood, and underneath the van. He encouraged me to take it for a thorough test drive and never made me feel rushed or pressured. Every question I asked was answered honestly and professionally. I explained my payment situation and what I needed for my business, and Tony and his team worked hard to find a solution that fit. Their professionalism, transparency, and customer service exceeded every expectation I had. As the owner of Another Plumber, I rely on dependable vehicles to serve my customers, and I couldn't be happier with this experience. I'll absolutely be purchasing my next work vehicle from Tony and his team. Without a doubt, this was the best vehicle-buying experience I've ever had. In my opinion, they provide the best customer service in all of San Diego. Highly recommended!

Basically my dash board lit up like a Christmas tree. It was time to find a new reliable car that was within my budget. Full disclosure, a friend of mine gifted me Z's services, however now having been through this experience, I do not foresee ever getting a car without Z. I was hesitant about it at first--it seemed too good to be true. But after speaking with Z, he immediately put us at ease. He is genuine and he really cares about his clients and making sure it's the right fit for them. He helped us identify what we wanted right down to the color and trim. He even introduced us to some options we never would have imagined for ourselves and it turned out to be the perfect match for us. Z even went as far as walking us through the financing options and weighing whether it would be better for us to purchase or lease. He spelled out the numbers and guided us to make the decision that was truly in our best interest. And then he even held our hand through filling out all of the forms. Things we would have been apprehensive about at a dealership, he simplified and allayed all of our fears. And as if that weren't enough, not only did we never step foot in a dealership--he had the documents delivered to us electronically and the car delivered to our home - same day!!! Once we identified exactly what we wanted, he negotiated a price we never thought we could have had and had it delivered to our door. It was unbelievable. I've shopped for and purchased cars before and the process was miserable and I always walked away wondering if I could have done better. This without a doubt was the best process ever. Not only do I have no doubt we got an unbelievable deal, but also, we got more options than we ever could have hoped for. We are so thrilled and grateful every time we drive. And there's more! Z even helped me get quotes to sell my old car and guided me to get the best rate. I was blown away by how much I got for my old vehicle. It was way more than I had imagined and was higher than the KBB listed value! Even after I've had my car, Z made it clear to call him first if there are ever any issues. I did and again, it was like magic--he had a solution and it was way better than had I not called. Z is a true gem. I wish there were more people with so much heart, passion, and caring as him. The world is definitely a better place with Z in it! If you have any doubt, don't even think about it--enlist Z's help in finding, buying, or leasing your next car--SO worth it!

Easily justifying Z's upfront fees. Z was accomodating, as i suspect I was not his easiest client (but I like to be detailed). In the end, Z got me into the vehicle I wanted, at the trim level I wanted, and got a deal that was unprecedented. The dealership told me they made no profit on the deal and were only willing to sell the vehicle to me, so they could "make their #'s for the month. Alot of other variables came into play, but we'll keep this short. Shall we say, Z and I came to an agreement that this was a "unicorn" deal, rare in Z's business. If you're looking for an auto broker, Z is your guy. He has my full endorsement and i wish him and his business all the best.

The truck was priced better than any comparable truck in San Diego, and we literally left Mossy Ford to go buy it. When we arrived, we expected the advertised special to be ready for us to see. Instead, it was buried in the back of the lot. Our salesperson, Josh, was first-class throughout the entire process. He was professional, helpful, and genuinely wanted to earn our business. After the test drive, we went inside to write up what should have been a slam-dunk deal. Josh's manager, Mike, was leaving, so the deal was handed over to another sales manager, whose name I believe was Stephen. That is where everything fell apart. Josh returned with numbers that were approximately $20,000 higher than the advertised online price. The proposal appeared to include every possible add-on and inflated charge they could fit into the deal. It felt like the sales manager was attempting to take advantage of my son because he is a younger buyer. That approach might work on an inexperienced customer, but I have been in sales for 35 years. I asked to speak with the manager and questioned whether he was new or even familiar with the dealership's advertised pricing. He then asked me what the online price was. It is his responsibility to know the dealership's advertised specials before presenting a customer with numbers that are $20,000 higher. I genuinely feel bad for Josh because he did everything right and lost what should have been an easy sale because of the way his management handled the deal. We left Kearny Mesa Ford, returned to Mossy Ford, and purchased a truck from them instead. I had purchased a vehicle from Kearny Mesa Ford a couple of years ago, but after this experience, I will not be returning. Mossy Ford earned our business and will be our dealership going forward.

KM is now under their ownership and this dealership brings with it all aspects of shady and terrible practices. I'll try my best to condense this but its a lot to cover. DO NOT take your vehicle to be serviced here DO NOT work with their slimy salespeople DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT consider one of their "certified" pre-owned vehicles SERVICE:After over a decade of being a VW customer at this location (see former glowing review), I can tell you this is not the same dealership and I was pretty blindsided in discovering this. I've tried to shop around for other mechanics but having a German diesel vehicle has pretty much priced me locked in for services and I liked having all work history at a location. So I did a major service again. 2 Months later, a major fuel-related issue happened while entering the freeway....twice. Given the proximity to the service, it was understandable for me to think 'maybe the tech did something wrong, and quickly brought it in for diagnosis. Without barely looking at it, I was told to replace the in-fuel (low pressure) fuel pump. I was also told the 'good news' there was no metal debris present. I was told this fixes it 90% of the time. Then 30 mins later I was texted again, didn't fix it, we now have to replace the high pressure fuel pump "and see." I stopped all work on it and was now out $850. We carefully drove the car home where it's sat in the garage as I weighed my options. Well guess what? A very kind, diesel expert mechanic was able to come for a house call second opinion. He spent about 5 mins unscrewing the cap of the fuel filter (one of the items I just replaced) and there are metal shards. The car is done. The entire fuel system is lost. And the VW tech stated no metal was found and to just go ahead and replace the HPFP (a job they list as about $5k). Their expert best tech either didn't check a very basic thing, or straight up lied to get me to pay for a replacement that would have failed from a compromised system. VW corporate: This is a very big deal. I am hoping you are paying attention. This is a soon to be BBB claim. SALES: On the day I was told my car needed the HPFP replaced (before learning about the metal in the system) , I considered the option of getting a certified pre-owned electric car that had just come in. It was truly a casual inquiry. The salesman was friendly and down to earth, and shared that if we wanted to put down a deposit, no one else could consider the car (which seemed to be a rare inventory). It still needed to be serviced and cleaned, so I went ahead and did that just to secure a first look. Again, this was a casual inquiry and the friendly guy said "no pressure, if you change your mind you get the deposit back." This returned lease started to rub me the wrong way. In only 2 years it had 42,000 miles on it and it was returned extremely dirty. Carfax showed it was never brought in for service nor recalls corrected. I expressed my concerns and the sales guy just saw dollar signs of a deposit on the car and thought I committed. I wanted to see how it was cleaned up. They rushed everything with that guy seeing it as a done deal. We came in and immediately I saw coffee stains still on the armrest. Couldn't even clean it. The display screen was massively delayed on touch, the compartments abused. When we returned to the lot, the child lock was turned on for the back seat and wouldn't unlock. The guy laughed it off and said something about it being quirky. Was he this oblivious? Smiling, he asked if I was paying cash or wanted to finance. I told him I was not buying this car. Suddenly his demeanor completely changed and he decided to try some gender biased guilt trip on me... "Did I do something wrong? My manager is telling me he thinks I did something wrong." What kind of awful sales tactic is this? I felt like I was on a 2nd tinder date with someone who had no awareness. "Why did you come back then?" He demanded. Um... to get my $1,000 deposit back? Then the uncomfortable trying to sweat us out with waiting and returning with more terrible offers for a defective used car. It probably took 30 minutes to finally get my card refunded. I contacted the service manager about my experience (again, this was before finding out there is metal all over the fuel system) and their new young service manager has zero customer service skills or empathy. He ignored emails and blew me off after initiating another call. I filled out the service survey (they try to guilt you into giving them 5 stars for everything regardless of your experience) and said I wanted to be contacted in follow-up, and nothing. I contacted VW CARE with a thoughtfully written email and was replied to with a no subject canned response blowing me off. VW: You have clearly learned nothing from Dieselgate.

I brought my vehicle to Kearny Mesa Hyundai for service, and it took nearly 10 days just for a technician to assess the car. I was eventually told that the high-voltage battery needed to be replaced. When I was notified that my vehicle was ready for pickup, I arrived at the dealership and was shocked by the condition of my car. It was completely covered in bird droppings. I pointed this out to the employee who brought out the vehicle, and I was told that they do not have covered parking and do not wash customer vehicles. Luckily, my service advisor overhead how upset I was and eventually helped to clean the vehicle. The condition in which my vehicle was returned was unacceptable and extremely unprofessional. Other customers walking by were visibly shocked and even commented on how disgusting the car looked. I have attached photos documenting the condition of the vehicle at pickup. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend avoiding this service center.

When I finally reached someone, the employee was kind and told me to come in so they could check it out. A few days later, I showed up in person and the same thing happened -- bounced between parts and service, multiple employees who didn't seem trained or aware of how to help with a simple issue. Eventually, Michael helped me and assured me they would order the part ASAP. He gave me the price, said they could install it, and I confirmed the cost multiple times to avoid any surprises. I asked if I should pay now or get some kind of confirmation or estimated date, but they gave me nothing. Strange, but since they're the Acura dealership, I trusted them. They offered a free car wash while I waited -- and I regret accepting it. It took over an hour, even after I mentioned I was pressed for time and just needed the car checked. Once it was finally done, I had to keep asking for updates because it felt like they forgot about me. I left with no paperwork, no confirmation, nothing... but still hopeful they'd follow through. A month later, nothing. No call, no update, no part. After three weeks, I called to check in. The person who answered had no idea what I was talking about. It was like the order never existed. He said he would talk to Michael and get back to me. Of course, no one ever did. No call, no email, nothing. This place is unprofessional, disorganized, and clearly not on top of anything. I wish I hadn't wasted my time coming here or waiting for them. Now I have to start the entire process over somewhere else. Would not recommend this dealership at all.

So I thought to myself, "Why not try them out"? instead of going through the Costco buying service that I'd been contemplating using. I spoke with Grant Ruthenberg and told him the model I was interested in. He explained the he receives a fee from the dealership but he'd be working to get me the best price. He got back to me the very next day with what I was looking for. Ever the skeptic, I ran his proposal and the invoice through ChatGPT and asked if I'd gotten a reasonable deal. ChatGPT answered, "FINAL VERDICT: This is a fair, clean, and pretty good deal. You could spend weeks calling dealers and possibly not do better. You're not being overcharged. The numbers match reality. And the transparency is excellent." So who was I to argue? I told Grant to go ahead with the purchase and he told me the car could be delivered the next day. I was informed about the ETA of delivery and given a more precise ETA as they had more info (the car was coming from Riverside and I'm in Bonita). Grant had me sign the paperwork and explained what I was signing when questions arose. I gave him the check and then we went out, sat in the SUV and he explained all the new features.
