    1992 Jeep Wrangler YJ

Jimmy was incredibly communicative through the entire process, which was fantastic since I was flying in from out of town to purchase a vehicle I had not seen in person. He was very honest and upfront about the quality of the vehicle I was buying, friendly and accommodating. I would recommend Jimmy to anyone looking to purchase and Jeep or any other used vehicle in San Diego. Also his staff were very friendly - I wanted to test drive the YJ that I bought but it was raining, and they still let me test drive it in the rain. 10/10 service, thank you Jimmy for being such a professional.

Jimmy is the best in the business in San Diego! I purchased a mint 1991 Jeep Cherokee XJ from him back in May 2023. Jimmy made the purchasing process super straight forward and easy. He was very amenable to having the Jeep inspected by an independent shop and was very fair on the price. You can also tell he is in it for the love of the cars and not just for profit. And as a bonus he has an amazing collection of cars to look at in addition to all the Jeeps. Jimmy left such a good impression that my fiancé and I are now looking at buying another Jeep, for her, from Jimmy.

My father and I were working with Jimmy. Jimmy was extremely attentive, sincere and out pressure, and went above and beyond. Jimmy did a lot of legwork to ensure we got the exact vehicle that we wanted. My father and I were both new on Jeep. We were both very pleased with the entire experience and thank jimmy for his efforts in getting us the vehicle we wanted. I highly recommend jimmy is a salesman.

Having done business with J's Motors a year ago I can honestly say I remain very much satisfied with my purchase. After negotiating the price on a mint 2001 2dr Cherokee Sport I had opportunity to fly down to El Cajon Ca and commence the transaction. Jimmy was very professional and fair throughout the entire process and from start to finish handled all my questions concerns. I'd highly recommend doing business with Jimmy!

I bought a Lot Of vehicles in my time but I never met a man like Jimmy let you feel good about yourself when you're buying a vehicle off him and he stands behind it it was a pleasure and I will recommend this dealership

I purchased a car from Jimmy (owner of Panda Garage) this past weekend and it was by far the best experience I have ever had buying a car.

My initial experience was very disappointing, and I shared those concerns in my original review. However, after that, the dealership's leadership took the time to listen, take accountability, and work toward a resolution. That meant a lot to me. A special thank you to Sales Manager Dan Lewis for reaching out personally, making things right, and working with the General Manager to order me a brand-new 2026 Lexus TX 500h at a fair price. I truly appreciate the effort, transparency, and commitment to earning back my trust. Thank you to Melissa, my sales consultant, for being incredibly patient, keeping me updated throughout the ordering process, and always communicating with me about the vehicle's arrival. Your responsiveness made the waiting process much easier. Thank you also to Allen for being friendly, welcoming, and taking the time to answer all of my questions whenever I called. Lastly, a huge thank you to Finance Manager Mikheal Mikhael. The finance process was one of the best I've experienced. He never rushed me, never pressured me into purchasing warranties I didn't need, and was honest, transparent, and patient while answering every question I had. That level of professionalism is something I truly value. Although my first experience wasn't what I expected, I believe it's equally important to recognize a dealership that takes responsibility and has a team that genuinely cares about its customers. Thank you to everyone who helped turn a frustrating situation into a positive one. I'm happy with my new Lexus and appreciate all the hard work that went into making this happen.

At least I hope readers make an intelligent decision when dealing with this dealership. I rarely rate. It takes disrespect as well as total inconsideration for me to be writing here. I just experienced the classic cut-throat sales practice and was excluded from actually purchasing a vehicle I was committed to. Apparently this shop runs lotteries if there is more demand than supply. Guess what. They tell you this "lottery" practice exists when? They share this "last minute" or the "day of" and have an executive management choice to run lotteries at their beckon will knowing they were never transparent about such lottery. Classic "a-ha!" And this runs up the chain to top management. It is a matter of "sell as quickly as possible." It just happens you have to be present at their preferred time for you to participate in this lottery. If you are working or parenting you shall !stop! your life to be at Lexus San Diego sharp otherwise you lose the "chance" to be on some concocted lottery. Obviously I could not stop "life" and make myself present in 54 minutes. You read that right. I had 54 minutes from notification to drive (on a Friday afternoon of all days) to be part of some lottery. Who knows if the lottery is even fairly drawn. Thank goodness for the new California CARS Act. They also disclose "last minute" they will add dealer packages even if you, the potential buyer, has informed them that is a deal breaker. If you want to be "strung along" and unpleasantly surprised please..please buy from here. You will contribute and encourage them doing this to others perpetually. If you have dignity and wish to be treated respectfully look somewhere else. I am a professional and deal with professionals. My experience was, to date, the poorest with a "luxury" dealership. Car buying should be a positive experience for both buyer and seller. We are already experiencing awkward times this 2026. We do NOT NEED THIS. Good luck Update: Despite the reply below Lexus San Diego did not contact me after May 16.

KM is now under their ownership and this dealership brings with it all aspects of shady and terrible practices. I'll try my best to condense this but its a lot to cover. DO NOT take your vehicle to be serviced here DO NOT work with their slimy salespeople DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT consider one of their "certified" pre-owned vehicles SERVICE:After over a decade of being a VW customer at this location (see former glowing review), I can tell you this is not the same dealership and I was pretty blindsided in discovering this. I've tried to shop around for other mechanics but having a German diesel vehicle has pretty much priced me locked in for services and I liked having all work history at a location. So I did a major service again. 2 Months later, a major fuel-related issue happened while entering the freeway....twice. Given the proximity to the service, it was understandable for me to think 'maybe the tech did something wrong, and quickly brought it in for diagnosis. Without barely looking at it, I was told to replace the in-fuel (low pressure) fuel pump. I was also told the 'good news' there was no metal debris present. I was told this fixes it 90% of the time. Then 30 mins later I was texted again, didn't fix it, we now have to replace the high pressure fuel pump "and see." I stopped all work on it and was now out $850. We carefully drove the car home where it's sat in the garage as I weighed my options. Well guess what? A very kind, diesel expert mechanic was able to come for a house call second opinion. He spent about 5 mins unscrewing the cap of the fuel filter (one of the items I just replaced) and there are metal shards. The car is done. The entire fuel system is lost. And the VW tech stated no metal was found and to just go ahead and replace the HPFP (a job they list as about $5k). Their expert best tech either didn't check a very basic thing, or straight up lied to get me to pay for a replacement that would have failed from a compromised system. VW corporate: This is a very big deal. I am hoping you are paying attention. This is a soon to be BBB claim. SALES: On the day I was told my car needed the HPFP replaced (before learning about the metal in the system) , I considered the option of getting a certified pre-owned electric car that had just come in. It was truly a casual inquiry. The salesman was friendly and down to earth, and shared that if we wanted to put down a deposit, no one else could consider the car (which seemed to be a rare inventory). It still needed to be serviced and cleaned, so I went ahead and did that just to secure a first look. Again, this was a casual inquiry and the friendly guy said "no pressure, if you change your mind you get the deposit back." This returned lease started to rub me the wrong way. In only 2 years it had 42,000 miles on it and it was returned extremely dirty. Carfax showed it was never brought in for service nor recalls corrected. I expressed my concerns and the sales guy just saw dollar signs of a deposit on the car and thought I committed. I wanted to see how it was cleaned up. They rushed everything with that guy seeing it as a done deal. We came in and immediately I saw coffee stains still on the armrest. Couldn't even clean it. The display screen was massively delayed on touch, the compartments abused. When we returned to the lot, the child lock was turned on for the back seat and wouldn't unlock. The guy laughed it off and said something about it being quirky. Was he this oblivious? Smiling, he asked if I was paying cash or wanted to finance. I told him I was not buying this car. Suddenly his demeanor completely changed and he decided to try some gender biased guilt trip on me... "Did I do something wrong? My manager is telling me he thinks I did something wrong." What kind of awful sales tactic is this? I felt like I was on a 2nd tinder date with someone who had no awareness. "Why did you come back then?" He demanded. Um... to get my $1,000 deposit back? Then the uncomfortable trying to sweat us out with waiting and returning with more terrible offers for a defective used car. It probably took 30 minutes to finally get my card refunded. I contacted the service manager about my experience (again, this was before finding out there is metal all over the fuel system) and their new young service manager has zero customer service skills or empathy. He ignored emails and blew me off after initiating another call. I filled out the service survey (they try to guilt you into giving them 5 stars for everything regardless of your experience) and said I wanted to be contacted in follow-up, and nothing. I contacted VW CARE with a thoughtfully written email and was replied to with a no subject canned response blowing me off. VW: You have clearly learned nothing from Dieselgate.

The truck was priced better than any comparable truck in San Diego, and we literally left Mossy Ford to go buy it. When we arrived, we expected the advertised special to be ready for us to see. Instead, it was buried in the back of the lot. Our salesperson, Josh, was first-class throughout the entire process. He was professional, helpful, and genuinely wanted to earn our business. After the test drive, we went inside to write up what should have been a slam-dunk deal. Josh's manager, Mike, was leaving, so the deal was handed over to another sales manager, whose name I believe was Stephen. That is where everything fell apart. Josh returned with numbers that were approximately $20,000 higher than the advertised online price. The proposal appeared to include every possible add-on and inflated charge they could fit into the deal. It felt like the sales manager was attempting to take advantage of my son because he is a younger buyer. That approach might work on an inexperienced customer, but I have been in sales for 35 years. I asked to speak with the manager and questioned whether he was new or even familiar with the dealership's advertised pricing. He then asked me what the online price was. It is his responsibility to know the dealership's advertised specials before presenting a customer with numbers that are $20,000 higher. I genuinely feel bad for Josh because he did everything right and lost what should have been an easy sale because of the way his management handled the deal. We left Kearny Mesa Ford, returned to Mossy Ford, and purchased a truck from them instead. I had purchased a vehicle from Kearny Mesa Ford a couple of years ago, but after this experience, I will not be returning. Mossy Ford earned our business and will be our dealership going forward.

Your shop had my car for several days and repaired the leak which was covered under my extended warranty. When I reviewed the September 2025 invoice, it reflected a charge of $40 for a tire rotation and I paid for a tire rotation, but the invoices stated that it was not done and I confirmed when I inspected the vehicle when I got home that it was not done. After a couple of calls, I was told that I would have to travel back to your shop with my credit card in hand for them to issue a credit. Fast forward to June 2026, I again brought the vehicle in for an oil change/tire rotation. I received a text from Laelanee telling me I was overdue for a coolant flush ($332) and brake flush ($322) and to let her know how to proceed. I responded to her letting her know that these services were already performed at your location (it has not been serviced anywhere else). She responded back that she found the brake flush, but not the coolant flush. Her response was "no worries, we'll just complete the oil change and usual inspection." My question is I paid for these services, were they performed or not? I received the inspection report for this visit stating that I needed the Cabin filter and Engine air filter replaced. Also, the transmission was leaking. I spoke with Laelanee stating that this was in your shop in September for several days and now it is leaking again? She stated that it is the same part leaking again, but that it would be covered under the warranty since it had not been a year. I told Laelanee to hold off on performing the filter replacement until we got a handle on the major issue the transmission. What started out to be a couple of hours' visit to your shop for an oil change turned into a week long visit to repair what you were supposed to repair in September. I received a voicemail on Friday stating that the vehicle's transmission leak had been completed and did I want the filters changed. I responded by text to complete the filter changes, and I would be in Saturday morning to pick up. I never saw nor was verbally presented with a price quote for the filter work. I arrived on Saturday morning to pick up my car and pay for the oil change and filters and was a bit surprised at the $384.19 invoice. I understand the pricing on parts, but when I reviewed the labor for replacing the cabin filter ($100 when the engine filter was only $40). It took me less than two minutes to remove both covers in the glove box and replace them. Is this the correct labor charge for that task? Finally, I have trusted your shop with our vehicle repairs on this vehicle and our previous Infinitis, but being told work needed to be completed that has already been completed or work that you charged me for but not completed leaves me not being able to trust your shop and feel that this experience leaves me with no alternative but to find a new repair shop. I would like to hear back from you regarding whether the previous services (Brake flush, coolant flush, and transmission flush) were actually performed and is this the correct labor cost $100 for the cabin filter.

Luckily, my service advisor overhead how upset I was and eventually helped to clean the vehicle. The condition in which my vehicle was returned was unacceptable and extremely unprofessional. Other customers walking by were visibly shocked and even commented on how disgusting the car looked. I have attached photos documenting the condition of the vehicle at pickup.
