I called Progressive cleaning for the first time about two weeks ago. I'd just had some of my rooms repainted and there was dust and sand all over. Not only that, the place was a mess prior to the painting. Their team of two showed up on time and got right to it. I had to get to work, so I showed them how to lock the door (its a smartlock) and I headed out for work. When I returned later that afternoon, I was so pleased! They had locked up just as I had asked; and the kitchen, the bathrooms and the floors looked especially great, there was also a light fresh scent throughout. They literally got all the little spaces and dusty areas, and the price was on par with the local competitors. I have been a Progressive Cleaning Customer for a couple of years now. Despite already being very clean and a total "neat freak", I still get cleanings because of how meticulous they are. The cleaning teams are alway on time and friendly. When they leave, everything is SPOTLESS and scrubbed to perfection. They pay particular attention to places that I often forget about (windows, mirrors, lightswitches, wallboards), and leave the bathroom and kitchen ***sparkling***. Quality of cleaning and friendliness of staff is 4.5. In terms of timely arrival it is negative 5. And they don't mean what they say. Email communication is very efficient however with extremely conflicted information. And so you know the arrival window is actually 4 hours finally I was told after multiple early and late arrivals out of the arrival window. And now they said it's on the website. With multiple email exchange, each time I was told something different. I was told that the arrival window could be one hour, two hours, three hours and at last four hours. And that the automated reminder email with different arrival time I could ignore but use it as confirmation, and just needed to pay attention to the 2 hour arrival window I am with. But then the last email I was told the reminder was the best estimation of arrival which could be hours different. Literally every email says different things! Also they won't notify you when you were told they would if the staff come late or early. Bottom line is if you just want to do a one time cleaning it is probably fine and they can put you on the schedule with very short Notice. but if you want recurrent cleaning visits you will have to tolerate their 4 hour arrival window which they don't tell you until you experience it. Actually I had once had a more than a 4 hour arrival window, but I didn't wait and reschedule it. The reason why they get so many good ratings is they try to give you discounts if you write a review here. But they only offer the discount right after the first visit. Because I think you would figure out how much you know things aren't good with the company after two times and you won't want to write any good review anymore. I ended up having to switch to a different company. After waiting for 2 hours for them to show up during the window they had told me I called them. One of their staff had an emergency and they had to cancel on me. While I understand things happen I would have expected a call from the office letting me know. I tried to be flexible but in the end they said it would be another hour for them to show up. I told them I couldn't do it and I needed it done for a move out. They couldn't work if my schedule to make up for their staff shortage and only offered me a 10% discount. What company can be completely thrown off by one person being out? What happens if someone is sick like in this case? This was my first time trying to use this company and I do not intend on trying again. read more

I stopped using my old cleaning lady due to scheduling conflicts. She came to my home for the estimate and we agreed to $100 every other week or $150 monthly. My home is kept very clean, I don't always have time to do deep cleaning. I was excited to hire this company based on reviews but I was taken back by the quote I was given. I live in a townhouse that is less than 2000 square feet and my estimate was over $300! I personally feel estimates should be evaluated by the home and how dirty it is. Usually my wife keeps our house spotless clean, but recently we got a little of dogs and with the combination of our kids playing with them, you can only imagine how hard it is to constantly be cleaning. So one day my wife and I decided to call a cleaning service and she found Progressive cleaning. I was very impressed with the job they did on my home. They cleaned in places I would have never even thought to clean, like the corners of my window frame, they made that corner spotless. They seemed all the spots we had neglected cleaning, under furniture and the top of the kitchen cabinet. They even left a certain detergent smell that was just the very definition of clean. I called Progressive and a few other local cleaning companies to clean out a condo which I rent. As for the services rendered - the cleaning is mediocre, my condo is very low maintenance and I can't argue that it's clean, not spotless, but get the job done clean. My issue is that it should not have taken 3 maids 2 1/2 hours to clean. I've had the condo cleaned before and I had a ballpark as to how long it would take and the price I wanted to pay. When I called and spoke with Evelyn, I was satisfied with her estimates as they were on the money. We negotiated for either 2 maids for 3 hours or 3 maids for 2 hours, a total of $192 with 15% off due to a promotion. The maids arrived within the negotiated window and began cleaning. I'm not a rude person - however I should have been when I noticed that one of the maids seemed to just be standing around. Quite likely, I should have said something, but I passed thinking that she was asking questions or what-not. I left for about an hour and half and returned to find that the same maid was still standing around while the other 2 cleaned. Around 2 1/2 hours after they arrived, they packed up their bags and said I owed $240. I told her we negotiated a price of $192 and she said that the rate is hourly, with 3 maids it's $96/hour. The proposal has a line item for an hourly rate. I felt screwed at this point since she was right, even though I had a proposed cost. I thought I negotiated a firm fixed price, not a time and materials proposal... I mentioned the 15% off deal - which the maid asking for the money acted like she didn't know anything about. I pulled up my email and then calculated out 15%, paying her only $204. - which was still $60 more than I wanted to pay. My lesson learned is that I should have stayed on top of them and cracked the whip, I should have negotiated that fixed price contract, or I should have gone with another company. read more

Completely disappointed with this company. My caveat:- I have only used a cleaning service once before and it was a person recommended by my realtor. She was awesome and my only comparison. Maybe I had unrealistic expectations. I contacted the company providing them my information. Move-out cleaning needed with specifics down to the square footage. I received a call back right away, with requests for more details then an estimate. I was given a price and told the job would take approximately 1.5hrs with three people or 2hrs for two people. Two ladies showed up the next day and on time. My first suspicion was when they went in they asked me where my vacuum and trash bags were. I said, that the place was vacant and I disclosed this to the lady that scheduled the cleaning the prior day so none of that would be there. (She had a vacuum with her??) Well, 3hrs later I was a little confused what was taking so long. The condo was completely empty so there was no dusting furniture or vacuuming around stuff. I called the company and I got a "well what we gave was just that, an estimate" I asked if maybe there was something wrong or something giving them difficultly. She called back and said, I had no vacuum but they should be done soon. I was charged for 4hrs of service, more than double what than the estimate provided and when I went in to inspect it, there were several things not done. The bathroom tub had stains, the light bulbs were still dusty and many of the kitchen cabinets were not cleaned. When I pointed them out they told me it would be additional per hour charges. By then I was totally frustrated and just asked them to leave. It felt like bait and switch.
