We first had Progressive insulate our attic and were so impressed with their professionalism and quality workmanship that we had them subsequently replace all our windows with 14 new vinyl CertainTeed double-hung ones. Next (summer 2009) we had them install a custom greenhouse window in our kitchen. Today (a Saturday in mid-December 2010), after four consecutive days of heavy rain in Santa Monica we noticed that the top frame of the greenhouse window was leaking. We called and spoke with Mike the manager; he told us that -- as we expected -- Monday would be the earliest they could get someone out to look at it. But not even 15 minutes later he called back and said that he had checked and one of their crews was doing an installation about a 1/2 hour away, would be finished in 1 hour, and would we be home to have them come by. They did as advertised. Jorge and his assistant took an hour (in the rain!) to remove the frame and put a new waterproof bead seal on. It has continued to rain for a few hours since and there is not a drop in sight. These guys are great. If you need any insulation or window work, contact Progressive. Shopping for windows turned out to be anything but fun. Once we struggled past the initial sticker shock, finding someone knowledgeable, patient, and creative enough to guide us through the myriad choices/options/brands was a challenge. Until we discovered Progressive. Everything from style to available rebates to merits of one manufacturer over another was thoroughly discussed without any pressure whatsoever. We have two young children, so they even designed an installation schedule around our needs. Everyone we dealt with was kind, knowledgeable and thoroughly professional. When we had one (minor) communication issue regarding replacing insulation in the attic - the owner of the company came out instantly and smoothed things out. Pregressive was professional, fast and very reasonable with their quote. I had my attic and walls done. Our house stays 8 degrees cooler without the air running. Before our air conditioner would turn on immediately after it turned off and stay on for long periods of time. Now the house cools immediately and the house stays cool for long periods of time. One of the best upgrades we have done to our house was replacing the old aluminum windows with new dual pane vinyl windows. Not only has our place been more quite than before, the temperature has been more consistent without having to run the a/c or heater as much. As for Progressive, they were fabulous. We got quotes from several other companies, but liked Progressive the most. Plus, my in-laws used Progressive about 5 years ago and were really happy with their work. The rep that came out was very friendly, professional, and helpful. It took about six week to get the windows in, since all of their windows are custom ordered. But we knew that ahead of time, so it was not a big deal. Once the windows were in, they called us to schedule the installation on a saturday. The guys that came out were equally as friendly as the rep and did a great job installing some pretty difficult arched windows on the second floor. Everything was cleaned and finished perfectly at the end. One additional benefit of using Progressive is that they use a decorative wood molding on the inside of the windows, where most places us a flat (ugly) vinyl molding. Now we have new windows that looks great and operate MUCH better than our old windows. read more

These guys are great. I called Dwayne (Referred by a contractor friend) who came over the same day to give me an estimate. I requested my attic have all old blown in insulation removed and replaced with clean new batt insulation. Dwayne provided me a quote in 10 minutes which was significantly cheaper than another local company my friends recently used. He told me he could start the work the next day, however couldn't complete the balance for another week or two. The next morning the crew showed up right on time and began the work. They completed the entire job in one day. There must have been 8 guys working together to get it done. They were neat and clean. Considering how much garbage came out of my attic, they left almost zero debris behind. They created a clean hallway for themselves with plastic so the dust wouldn't escape into the house. The entire job took two full days of hard work by Pedro and his crew. They were polite and professional. I had 17 Marvin Infinity doors and windows installed in my home by Progressive Windows and Doors this week. I am so happy with Joe and his entire crew. My windows and doors are in and I love them. They are beautiful. The work was done to perfection. I am having a lot of work done to my house at this time and as a result, many sets of men have been working here for the last couple of months. I have never seen such a professional, skillful, respectful and pleasant crew. Each and every one of these men has a work ethic like I have never seen. They arrive on time. They are quiet and non intrusive. They cover and protect every inch of my property thoroughly every day before beginning work. They take away all their supplies every evening when they leave. Joe has everything so organized. This team works like clockwork! Every member of this team knows what their plan is for the day. Each one comes prepared, knows just what to do each day and gets right to work. They work the entire day with no breaks, visiting or wasting time, except for their short lunch break. Every evening when they leave, they clean up everything so well that you would never know I had had workers in my house that day. Joe was personally so helpful to me. He told me each day what they accomplished and what they were going to do the next day. He let me know exactly how long it would take, where they would be working, and that is exactly what happened for all 5 days. He answered all my questions and explained everything to me thoroughly. . Upon leaving on his last day, he showed me how to work all my windows, doors and screens. He asked me if he had put everything back to my satisfaction and if there was anything else he could do for me. He was so kind and eager to please me. It was actually a pleasant experience having all 17 of my windows and doors replaced! This kind of work ethic is unheard of these days. I couldn't be more happy with the patience and great work that the salesman and installers performed on the window install for my home. I wanted to replace all the windows in the home I just purchased, which was way too much money, but I had to know. After several quotes, I felt much more comfortable with the Progressive salesman, Sam. He never bugged me after the free quote, but I bugged him on several occasions. I wanted to verify and triple check things and work numbers so it was doable for me. I am going to need to have them come out three separate times, since I can't afford it all at one time. They already came out once, things went perfect. I felt so happy, that I quickly booked them for the beginning of the year for the next set of windows and a yet to be determined third time to finish up the final set of windows. Very disappointed in this company. Have seven windows in a townhome that I want to upgrade to dual pane windows, so I contact Progressive and schedule to have a quote done. Couple of days later I meet Sam and he does his thing, with the quote to follow the next day via email (business card and personal email given). Now, 5 days later, no quote or contact from this company. Apparently my business is of no value to them, so I am now looking elsewhere. Original review (1 star, 1/20/2016) Have requested weatherization for the house in Porter Ranch due to Aliso Canyon gas leak. SoCal has transferred my info to Progressive Insulation. I was contacted by them one week after initial request. Was told that since we are tenants we need the homeowner permission on a special form. Nobody has told us in advance of course so I have not had anything ready but I knew I will get it guaranteed within a day. Even though I told him this he refused to book an appointment (how they handle this with homeowners then?). Anyway I got and sent the completed signed form back to the contractor the very next day but I have not got any response back, ever, despite multiple attempts to reach them for scheduling the services. All my messages were ignored altogether. Had to go back to SoCal, tell the situation and ask for another contractor. Have to wait now till it gets through to yet (hopefully) another contractor. Progressive Insulation sucks at customer service. How hard could that be to respond to me at all? He asked for the forms and got them the way we agreed, very quick too. Could have get them from me at the appointment time, couldn't they? I'm very upset, living in the gas leak area, with a child and pets, unable to move out for certain reasons, having to deal with contractors like Progressive Insulation... -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update - March 6, 2016 (4 stars) About 2-3 weeks after that I got contacted by them again, got an appointment scheduled. Two guys came in, put thin cheap sticky foam strips around my entrance door, garage door, and attic cover. Said - this is best they can do. Well, SoCal Gas promised differently, a lot more thorough service. Also my entrance door had wide gaps almost all around. All they did is attached those thin strips which did not really change much, you could see gaps are still open. After the Aliso Canyon gas leak was stopped, their president had contacted me, explained their side and apologized for miscommunication. He asked me about my concerns about their work quality, and we scheduled a visit for them to look at it. I explained why I expected better work to be done (SoCal Gas promises), showed him the original document on that. He took a look at the work quality. Said that the gas company actually have given them contradictive information, and soon after our service was done they actually was told by the gas company to "walk away" from doors like our entrance door. Means - do nothing at all. But he was willing to make things right now, even though the gas leak is over and SoCal Gas won't pay them for that. Since we have fixed our entrance door ourselves already all they could do is to close gaps around windows (yes, the house is old, and we do not owe it; it wasn't maintained that well by the landlord). So, they have fixed that the other day. Summary - I appreciate the Progressive insulation company willingness to make things right and stand behind their work. Given the circumstances I guess it was indeed best they could do. At least I do not have negative feelings toward them anymore :) read more

I worked with Chris from the Santa Fe location to get the estimates and Krystal to schedule the date to remove all of the old insulation; vacuum out the entire attic and install new R30 insulation at my mom's home. The crew showed up and created what looked like a computer clean room with plastic from the front door to the attic crawl space on all walls and the floor. They worked for hours removing the old insulation and vacuuming, involving me in each step to make sure I was happy with the completed step. Then the new insulation was installed to perfection with the final product looking beautiful. (As beautiful as a newly insulated attic can look.) The clean-up was also exemplary and they finished on time. I would recommend this company and team to anyone who is looking to do what I just did. read more

What started out as needing to replace a sliding glass door, ended up including 4 adjacent windows due to concerns about the aesthetic. We had no idea they'd be so beautiful - so much so that we got rid of the valences & blinds - sooo glad we did them all at the same time! The experience with Progressive far exceeded our expectations start to finish. Estimator (Kyle) was extremely professional / no hard sell. The head installer (George) explained every aspect in detail throughout the process - aesthetic as well as functional. It seemed strange that it would take 10 hours, but observing the meticulous procedure it all made sense. Clean, respectful, conscientious of all the surrounding furnishings, and reasonably priced for such a quality product! Minor point: they have several different phone numbers for the various facets (sales, installation, billing, etc.) - would be a bit easier with 1 central # / contact...but don't let that deter you - they are absolutely a 1st class company!! read more

We replaced all the windows in our house - 32 of them - different sizes & styles. Kevin was our representative & did a marvelous job of giving ideas to simplify & enhance the look of the windows. All the windows were received when the project start date was set. The crew arrived on time. We suggested they unload in our garage, which they did & they continued to use the garage throughout the project. At the end of each day, the crew swept & vacuumed the work area to ensure the cleanest possible area. We had been told the project would require 10 days. They finished on time. Each day, the crew arrived & each member went about his task - removing windows, preparing the area, etc. At the end of each day, the replacement window was in place. At no time did we feel exposed to the elements. At the end of the project, all the windows were cleaned, the areas where the crews had worked were swept & vacuumed.
