Update- I was contacted by the owner of the company because of my previous review. After discussing the situation with him he has sent me a refund for the money in question. He also apologized for the situation and lack of follow up from his office. Overall I'm very satisfied with the resolution and I am happy to change my review based on this. Had a quote for removing debris from the attic ( shingles and stuff from the roof replacement) and installing insulation. Only a few pieces of debris were actually removed per the workers at my house but they told their office they removed 10 bags of trash. Huh really? I never saw anything removed and I there the whole time and was watching them. Following up with the office you never get the same person to talk to, they don't return phone calls, and obviously they won't refund your money even if they don't do the work. Terrible customer service from the office staff. Waited almost 3 weeks just to get my rebate documents so I could apply for the DWP rebate. So I guess the insulation was installed ok but still have a bad taste from being screwed out of $250 for nothing. If you just need insulation they probably do a good job, but you should be cautious if you need any other services. Plus they set my attic fan on and never reset it, guy had to come out the next day to turn it off because it was running 24/7 wasting more of my money. The one word I can use to describe Progressive Windows is "professional". From the initial quote through the ordering process and actual instillation they were helpful every step of the way. We were looking to replace 9 windows and 2 sliding glass doors in our home. I got three quotes, and Progressive fell in the middle, not the cheapest and not the most expensive. What really liked was that I was able to go to their store and actually see the different windows available. This is a big investment, so it is very nice to actually see what you are buying. The actual install was top notch. The entire job was completed in two days and everything was perfect and left cleanly. We love our new windows and doors and can't recommend Progressive enough. read more

Scott is great! He did a great job measure our windows, gave us professional suggestion on sound reduction which was our major concern, answered our questions and solved our concern in a prompt way. He is very professional, persistent, patient and very helpful! We screened couple of vendors, some are not answering us any more after a few questions, some are just handwriting quot and spec which makes us nervous. With Progressive, every detail are written in contract. Scott, other sales persons we met and workers are nice and professional. It's the only window company who could show us the measurement of sound reduction in Valley. The installation project went very well. They reminded us before they came and covered everything when installing. We like our new windows and door! Noise has been dramatically reduced. read more

BE AWARE, terrible customer service! Once the contract is signed takes them weeks to get back to you. If something is written regarding your contract, make sure it's specific... because it's changed in the following years with the explanation of "well, what does that really mean?" The sales person wrote on my contract "life time screen and glass replacement". So, I called to have my screen door re-screened. Took them a week to even call back, then I was told they can't find my file... The outcome was me talking to the owner who said, "You can bring your screen in her and we will honor it, we went to the house last time as a courtesy". We recently contracted Progressive to insulate our old home with proper insulation. This process required Progressive to mostly place holes in our exterior stucco and to place holes into some of the interior drywall. Although the process is quite noisy and dusty, Progressive's team made sure to reduce the amount of debris whenever possible. Unfortunately, there was a issue with some of the insulation getting into our intake vents. It appears that my home is a bit old and therefore my intakes did not have proper enclosures. Progressive not only identified the issue quickly, they arranged for a team to come out to my house immediately and completely solve the problem. In addition, the owner personally spoke to me a number times to ensure that everything was in working order. Now that's customer service! Our insulation experience with Progressive has been exceptional and our home is now like a thermos. Progressive Insulation and Windows deserves a high rating on a job well done. read more

Summary: Poor quality installation due to inattentive and lazy staff; field supervisor is unprepared to do a complete job; office staff are uncaring and unresponsive. I recommend looking elsewhere. Inattentive and Lazy Staff: I contracted Progressive for insulation and sealing of spots where air may leak between my attic and living space. I didn't watch the installers' every move, but could tell they had cut the power to the upstairs AC. When they 'finished,' I asked the installers to please reconnect the power: it turns out they cut it accidentally. When my resetting the breakers didn't fix it, I then asked the installers to please go back into the attic to check if they bumped a switch. They declined and didn't seem to care that they knocked out AC to my house (with 2 young kids and 1 elderly parent) during a heat wave. My attic has 3 access points to be sealed and insulated with batts. The installers--despite my pointing out all 3--blew insulation over one of the points and didn't seal it. In practice, this means that opening this access point would cause a huge mess. I didn't see they made this mistake until after they left; a typical customer would have likely missed this oversight altogether. Had the installers just done this step correctly, I likely would have been able to fix the AC myself. Uncaring and Unresponsive Office Staff: My first call with Anthony in the office was at 4pm, asking him to please send someone out ASAP. His initial call back indicated he did little to nothing to try. After some back-and-forth, just before 5pm (closing time), he said Gary Stout (the GM) was going to follow up with a call that night. Since Gary Stout DIDN'T EVER call me back, I had no way of getting in touch with Anthony until the next morning. Replying to my 7pm VM the next morning, Anthony explained that Gary was supposed to have called me back, thus laying the blame with his GM. Poor Quality: After 2 days w/o AC, an HVAC pro came to fix it. The fix was really as simple as flipping a switch blown over with insulation, which is what I suspected and asked the installers to check when they refused to try to fix the problem they caused in the first place. After he fixed the problem, the HVAC pro said, "They [from Progressive] really need to clean this up," then explaining that Progressive had done a sloppy job installing insulation by blowing it over the other access point and over the pieces of plywood that span the joists. These comments reflect his expert experience and unbiased opinion, and indicate that Progressive did a poor quality job. It's not often that a customer has the opportunity to have a professional immediately judge the work on their home like this. I imagine that most customers would just assume it was done correctly, because they have no experience or basis for independently judging that work. Unprepared Field Supervisor: 3 days after the initial job, a "field supervisor" had to come out to fix the 3rd access point, but he didn't bring the appropriate material to seal it. I asked him to please check his truck to confirm, but as far as I could tell, he did not. This 'supervisor' thus wasted more of my time and still didn't get it done correctly. As a customer, that situation feels like Progressive Insulation does sloppy work at multiple levels of their organization. Not Valuing Customers: I was disappointed that Progressive offered no prospective discount on the bill to reflect the inconvenience of the whole experience, so gave them the opportunity to do so. They only offered a $100 credit and to send someone out to finish the sealing (which I declined, to not waste another 2 hrs waiting for them to show up). To me, $100 is inadequate for either the extra time I had to wait around for people to fix the job or for two days of my family's discomfort due to no AC; this small of a discount shows me Progressive does not value customers. Customers are not Experts: Most of us are not experts at niche services like insulation. We depend on ethics and professional pride when we choose the companies we do business with. Unfortunately, my experience is that the staff at Progressive Insulation do not have pride in their work, but will pass off low-quality and incomplete product to their customers. As a customer, I do not feel Progressive Insulation values me or my business. read more

After having several insulation contractors look at my house and bid blowing cellulose into my attic, I decided to go with Progressive. They were fair and delivered what they promised. When it was pointed out to the salesperson that the square footage was actually less then he had calculated, he immediately reduced his measurements. BEWARE: This is a common trick in this industry. They measure the exterior of your house and give you your square footage based on the outside dimensions not accounting for areas of your attic they can't access. To his credit, the sales rep immediately recognized the error and corrected it. The workers who installed the insulation were extremely hard working and diligent. They took time to answer all of our questions and address our concerns. Good work at a reasonable price. BTW, we love the result: the house is much more temperate and so much quieter. read more

When I drove to their office to get some straight answers another buffoon would only speak to us grudgingly because "we were working with another salesman". I used Progressive 11 years ago for my home and still love my windows and the high quality installation they did. I have referred them to most of my neighbors who also had positive experiences. I recently used them again to replace all of the windows on my rentals and on my daughter's house. They were all difficult but Laura Barnes did an amazing job for us. We had to modify the window sizes to bring them up to code and pull permits, all of which she handled for us. My daughter's condo was three stories up and they made it look easy. We are all happy with the finished product and all of my tenants called to say how courteous and good the technicians were. This company does not disappoint. About 5 years ago I had all the windows and sliding door installed in my house by Progressive. They did a great job, left everything clean. Just recently the sliding door lock failed. They came out and replace the lock. Frank, the service man, said the screen was tearing and should be replaced. He replaced it right then. All under warranty, no charge. They are terrific. I stopped in to Progressive a while ago, left my details as well as a comprehensive list of windows for a quote. Gave this info to the GM and followed up via email afterward. Despite all that effort, no one ever got back to me. I wound up going with a different company. Not that it should matter, but I'm replacing an entire house full of windows (3,300 SF house on 3 levels) with fiberglass Milgards, as well as 4 sliding patio doors. After months of research and estimates, Progressive won me over with there quality product, professional manners, and quality labor guarantee. They lived up to it all. There's a reason the Better Business Bureau gives them AAA rating. George took care of our sale and Ole our installation. Top notch professional guys. All windows were installed perfectly in just over half a day and you never would've known they were there. Not only are we in love with our new double pane aluminum Milgard windows, but our neighbors all want them too! If Progessive's cost is a $100 more than competitors, it's worth ever cent. The other guys will cost you somewhere else: poor seal quality, wrong measurements, long messy installations, shotty workers or back end hidden cost (one company said we'd need a $1000 lift for a 3rd floor window, another said $500 scaffolding-all bogus!!). I needed R30 blown-in insulation installed for an approx. 800sf remodel we recently completed. I had a number of contractors out for an estimate, and Progressive was by far the best price. I contacted Kyle to confirm that I wanted to move forward, and he scheduled my install in less than a week at an agreed upon date. The installers arrived on time and were courteous and professional. They completed the install quickly and efficiently, and cleaned up after themselves before they left. In all, it was a positive experience. I would contact Progressive again if I needed another insulation job. read more

I really want to like this company. However, they are late on the scheduled inspection date. OK, who doesn't miss an appointment, right? The price and detailed work quote was reasonable, so we decided to use them and scheduled the project two weeks ago on a Sat. The Friday before that scheduled date, they called me saying that one of the worker was injured and our work has to be rescheduled. OK, no one want that to happen. I feel bad for the worker and the company. Let's reschedule. The project is scheduled for today. And from the time I scheduled it and the time I called and confirmed the date, I was given a SPECIFIC time: 7:30 Sat. morning. Of course, they are late again. And their excuse is we are talking about a window, not specific time. While I'm sorry for misunderstanding, but let me repeat, every time I call for scheduling, I was given a SPECIFIC time! No one wants to get up early on Sat. morning but I did, and I'm happy that they are late. I said that I want discount for every single minute they are late, which I know it's absurd, all I want is an genuine apology that they should not told me a specific time and they are sorry. But no one, including the owner,want to acknowledge that I was given a specific time and not a window, which is very upsetting for me. And the owner did not appreciate me causing him trouble on his wife's birthday morning. Sorry, then you do need to have your scheduling department straightened out, and learn how to deescalate. I do want to add, a supervisor came later and acknowledged there were mis-communications inside their company and apologized. this is all I need, a genuine apology. If the owner did that, I would not have posted my comments above. the workers are very diligent and I'm happy about their work! they should have 5 stars. read more

I can't say enough about this company. They have old fashion ethics and Laura really knows her stuff. Laura was nothing short of Amazing and her help didn't stop after the sale was closed. We didn't have to do anything for our Ygreen Financing or the rebates she got all the balls running. We are expected to get back over $4000 in energy saving rebate. She listened to all our concerns, put up with our craziness and was honest about what we needed and what we didn't. The price was very comparable to other companies we looked at and we didn't feel pushed. Now about the work done. We had our entire house insulated and all the Windows replaced. I didn't know what to expect but I was amazed! Both Crews came in made sure the house was well protected to limit clean up they. The work was clean, the crew was very nice and respectful. The level of service that the installation team performed was great. They made sure to cover everything with plastic and they cleaned up after themselves at the end of every day. They used a swifter wet mop to clean the floors before leaving, the floors were cleaner after they left than when they arrived. These guys replaced all the windows in my condo in late 2009. Fast, professional, flawless installation. Even with the torrential rains/wind this year, everything is still sealed (no leaks) and I have yet to have an issue with my new windows. Its not often you find a company that is flexible, considerate and provides their customers a great product. Our home needed new insulation and Progressive Insulation and Windows were very kind to change our installation date and complete the work on time. The gentleman that did the installation of our new insulation were polite, courteous and thorough. Not only did they lay down plastic everywhere from the front door to the attic access but they taped it down so that it would not move. Our attic is very small and tight. I know this because I have been in the attic my self and it's tight. I heard the men crawling all the way to the edges of my attic to make sure they covered it all. Then, when they were finished in the attic, they vacuumed my HVAC closet where some of the insulation fell. I am very happy with this company and will recommend them to my family and friends. A couple of years ago we had all the windows and doors replaced by Progressive. They did a great job. Just recently one of the screens was torn and they came out quickly and replaced the screen and also replaced the rollers at the same. I contacted Progressive to get an estimate for insulation and windows. After speaking with the front desk, I was transferred to an estimator. Ken answered the phone. He answered all my questions and suggested that it would be best for him to come out to our home for an in home estimate. We set up the appointment for a few days later that week. When Ken arrived at our home, he was well prepared. He had brochures, information and photographs to show both the installation process of the windows and insulation. The other window reps that came out failed to explain the installation process or show pictures of how things would look when the project was complete. Ken also explained that a permit was required for retrofit windows and that the EPA had a new law that came into affect in 2010 regarding lead dust. Once the presentation was finished, Ken took all the necessary measurements that he needed for our bid and said that he would send us all the pricing by the next day. The other sales guys took 3+ days to send a bid, but we got our bid the very next day like promised. The price wasn't the cheapest, but it was fair. We went with Progressive because they seemed like a great family company and we trusted them. They have an A rating from Angies list and the BBB. After waiting 4 weeks for our windows, we had them installed and everything went great. Our place looks so much better now and the windows are beautiful. The insulation was also installed in our attic and we qualified for a rebate which we are very happy about. Thanks again to everyone at Progressive for a job well done. read more

I had two people from this company tell me insulation would work for soundproofing and after spending over $1200 for just1 room it did nothing! When I spoke with a manager he said they NEVER tell customers that insulation will soundproof but I am still out the money!!! read more

We first had Progressive insulate our attic and were so impressed with their professionalism and quality workmanship that we had them subsequently replace all our windows with 14 new vinyl CertainTeed double-hung ones. Next (summer 2009) we had them install a custom greenhouse window in our kitchen. Today (a Saturday in mid-December 2010), after four consecutive days of heavy rain in Santa Monica we noticed that the top frame of the greenhouse window was leaking. We called and spoke with Mike the manager; he told us that -- as we expected -- Monday would be the earliest they could get someone out to look at it. But not even 15 minutes later he called back and said that he had checked and one of their crews was doing an installation about a 1/2 hour away, would be finished in 1 hour, and would we be home to have them come by. They did as advertised. Jorge and his assistant took an hour (in the rain!) to remove the frame and put a new waterproof bead seal on. It has continued to rain for a few hours since and there is not a drop in sight. These guys are great. If you need any insulation or window work, contact Progressive. Pregressive was professional, fast and very reasonable with their quote. I had my attic and walls done. Our house stays 8 degrees cooler without the air running. Before our air conditioner would turn on immediately after it turned off and stay on for long periods of time. Now the house cools immediately and the house stays cool for long periods of time.
