I am always a little worried about the waiting around time with kids, but they have an awesome set up for kids - snacks, tv, and kid-specific area to lounge around in. The doctors make it really fun and enjoyable for the kids. They all look forward to going to the optometrist! Dr. Connie Tsai was great, the exam was very thorough and to my surprise, it was a state of the art facility with gadgets I had never seen before. I always hated the eye puff test but they had this nifty device that made it quick and painless. I recently went to Project Eyecare for both myself and my 2 year old daughter's eye exam.  The front desk receptionist, Jessica, was very welcoming and helpful.  She even interacted with my daughter which I think helped ease any anxieties over her very first eye exam.  I went on a weekday morning, so there was no wait.  After the usual round of preliminary tests performed by Jessica, Dr. Cano handled the rest of our exams.  His interactions with my daughter were very warm and patient (since 2 year olds certainly don't always follows directions).  I brought some snacks with me to keep her happy, but didn't bring enough (daddy fail).  Dr. Cano offered a snack bag of pretzel goldfish which did the trick!  He clearly explained to me how her eyesight was doing.  He then examined my eyes, explaining everything very clearly, and also answering any questions I had.   Lastly, Jessica helped pick out some new frames for me.  Based on my insurance coverage, they were able to tell me exactly what my out of pocket costs would be.  I just received the new glasses this week and they are great!  Overall very impressed with the professional service at this office, and would also recommend for kids! read more

I came in for an eye exam and had the best optometry experience with the whole Project Eyecare staff. Dr. Cano was very helpful in making sure we found my exact prescription and answered any questions along the way. Usually I feel a bit unsure when going through the "1 or 2, 2 or 3..." portion of the eye exam, but with Dr. Cano the whole experience was comfortable and much more reassuring. By the time I came out of the examination room, Dr. Cano and Jessica had selected several frames that they thought would best fit me based on my previous style. After some time, the three of us picked out the perfect frame and have been happy with them ever since. Dr. Cano and I also talked through the idea of getting contacts for the first time in 6 years, since my first experience was not the most enjoyable. We decided on getting one-a-day lenses for the comfort and convenience that I had issues with the first time around. With that being said, Dr. Cano and Dr. Tsai were very informative on explaining the differences between contact lenses and glasses, especially with the fact that I have to deal with astigmatism. We went through several trial pairs every few weeks so I could find the best fit and clarity. From there I felt very confident in the brand of contacts we decided to go with. Project Eyecare is my new go to from here on out! I only wear glasses and so does my family but we haven't found a place to go to for a long time. The staff here is amazing and you can tell the entire store was designed with the clients in mind. They are super kid friendly as well which is a huge plus. OMG! The first thing I thought when I walked into this practice was "Is this really an eye glass store?" It's trendy, clean, and really inviting inside. I loved browsing for glasses and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Dr. Cano and Dr. Tsai are both really gentle and compassionate doctors. They were great with my kids and made them feel at ease. Dr. Cano mentioned that my daughter may need vision therapy in the future since her eye tends to wander out at times. I checked out Project Eyecare as I was needing a new pair of glasses. I ended up getting so much more! 1) ambiance - the interior of Project Eyecare is really set up to not only please your eye (heh), but was obviously a well thought out design that highlights the different eyeglass lines that they carry. It's also a double hitter in that it's also an inviting space. 2) selection of glasses - Great collection of frames! But I especially appreciate the inclusion of plastic frames with nose pads (I often struggle with plastic frames sitting too closely to my face, the nose pads really help), which are difficult to find. 3) customer service - Jessica is super helpful and friendly, and helped me choose my frames. She also ran my pretests efficiently (and painlessly!). 4) exam - I saw Dr. Cano, who I found out is also a pediatric optometrist. (They have a very kid friendly office and eye exams!) I most appreciated that in addition to doing just the eye exam, he also asked me a lot of questions about my work, the ways in which I use my eyes, and etc., so that he can make the best possible recommendation for my eyewear and also demonstrating a relational care for his patient. I ended up switching to daily contacts after using bi-weekly contacts for over 10 years and it has been one of the best decisions I've made for my eyes. (And then... I also got glasses, like I originally planned. Which I also love.) I would absolutely continue to recommend this practice! read more

I worked with both Dr. Cano and Dr. Tsai for my eye appointment. First of all, I received the most detailed and thorough eye examination of my entire life. I didn't feel rushed in and out the door like other places I've been to. Instead, they took their time to educate me on my eyes, told me how to take better care of them, and answered all my questions. I could tell they really care about their patients. I was impressed that they even checked my blood pressure since it can affect my eye health. Seriously, which other optometry place will bother to do that? And if you're afraid of the dreaded air puff machine (medieval torture device?), you will hardly notice anything with their exam since they use a different method that is much more gentle. During my exam, I was also surprised to learn from Dr. Cano that my old prescription was over-correcting my vision by a substantial amount. It turns out my prescriptions have been like that for years. When they showed me the eye charts using a weaker prescription, I could actually read the same letters with practically the same comfort and clarity as my old prescription! I felt better about my eyes knowing that I got a prescription that was more appropriate to my actual vision. For frames, if you have a lower or flatter nose bridge like me, you may have noticed that your glasses may easily slip down your face which can be really annoying. The great thing about Project Eyecare is they have specialty frames to handle this which can sit higher on your nose, so the glasses always stay put. It was amazing how comfortable and secure those frames felt! And as an added benefit, they are modern and stylish as well. If you're having trouble deciding between frames, they even take the time to snap pictures of you wearing each one, so you can easily compare how they look. So if you're shopping around for an optometry place or had bad experiences elsewhere, I would highly recommend Project Eyecare for their awesome service and care. You won't regret it! read more

Jessica and Dr. Tsai helpfully suggested a number of options and were super patient through my indecisiveness. The first time I saw Dr. Cano was after I had injured my eye trying to take out a contact lens that I thought was stuck in my eye. My right eye had a blood spot and I called Dr. Cano's office and see if I could be seen the same day. Fortunately, the office had an opening and saved me a trip to the urgent care. Dr Cano was very thorough in checking out my eyes to make sure no contact lens or any fragments were stuck and he also made sure my injury was just superficial and not serious. He even taught me how to flush out the contact lens with the contact lens solution if this ever happen again. I have since then returned to his office for my annual eye exam. I love their selection of frames and I picked a wood-colored frame which I thought was very unique. I also love their contemporary office decor! read more

With that said, this is probably the nicest optometry office I've ever been to and is making me look forward to my regular check ups now. I came under the care of Dr. Connie Tsai one year ago after having searched for a trusted optometrist for a few years. I had had the same optometrist since I was 8 years old but after moving to Southern California just bounced around, never finding a home. She won me over by the comprehensive history and physical exam she performed, patiently taking her time in really getting to know my overall health and then the health of my eyes. I have quite a history, and she didn't miss one detail. She fitted me with different types of contact lenses and we ultimately found the ones that were the most comfortable for me. I followed her to Project Eyecare, most recently in search of sunglasses. She again was incredibly patient in helping me find the perfect pair, since I have such a thin face (I have worn children's sizes before!). Honestly, I was skeptical I was going to find a pair - in fact, I owned my previous sunglasses for over 9 years because I never found new ones in the size and style I liked. I was amazed by the number of choices they offered even in such a specific size, and walked out SO happy that I was able to replace my well-loved sunglasses with a newer, much better quality (and better looking!) one. The staff is also so kind and personable. They even offered my 2 year old snacks, water and a page of stickers while we waited! This is definitely my best optometry experience so far. First of all, project eye care is hands down the prettiest optometrist I've ever been to! Super professional and modern and clean! There's Netflix for the kids and a snack bar to keep them occupied while parents get their eyes checked too. As for my check up, I would say it was the most thorough one I ever had. The one I went to before it shut down would finish checking me in 10 min. But Dr. Cano actually took a long time to make sure everything was thoroughly checked and discussed different options for me, which I really appreciated since I have really bad eyes. We decided for me to switch to dailies instead of my old contacts. However, what followed was what really impressed me with their service. Dr cano gave me a weeks worth of trial ones to test out dailies since I never had them before. However, they didn't fit me too well so he gave me a different set of trial ones. My left eye just couldn't get used to the dailies and would always be blurry. After discussing it with Dr Cano, he suggested a different type of contacts instead. I really appreciated how he actually took the time to make sure the contacts fitted me well before having me buy a bunch. Also, I had some over focusing problems and my old optometrist told me to sign up for their vision therapy program that costed thousands of dollars. After getting a second opinion from dr Cano, he suggested I wait since it could be hormone shifts from pregnancy. Turns out he was right and saved me a bunch of money. They're definitely super honest people who want to make sure you're getting the best care and the care you actually need. Will be coming back again and will be taking my whole family here! read more

I've been going to this office for about half a year now, and they have provided nothing but outstanding work. I've been in twice this past month and it was extremely easy to make an appointment, I didn't have to wait long to be seen and the staff is superb! I came for a LASIK consultation, and will continue to go in for my post-treatment checks, as well as my annuals. Both Dr. Tsai and Dr. Cano are extremely kind and I highly recommend Them! I went to Project Eyecare in order to get what was my first ever eye exam. The last time I even tested my vision was back in Jr. High and I found that I had 20/20 vision so I never felt the need to get checked out. But as I get older I decided that I should start taking advantage of my vision insurance and take a look. The staff at Project Eyecare were very understanding that all the aspects of the exam were new to me. They made it a very quick and easy process. Through the exam and the questions they asked me I found that I still have 20/20 eyesight but because I work in front of a computer all day I could use some blue light glasses to help my eyes stay healthy. It was an absolute pleasure finding my eye glasses at this store. I had brought over a prescription from my original optometrist and asked if I was able to find a pair of eyeglasses with them. In the time of COVID, it was very difficult to find an place where I could just drop in and browse. Luckily for me, I contacted Project Eyecare and they had an availability to come in. When I got there, the eye glasses I described that I liked over the phone were already sitting out for me to try. I felt guilty that I was trying on so many of them because each one needed to be washed afterwards, but the Lady working with me was nothing, but excited and dedicated to helping me find the right pair.
