What a lovely restaurant .... We sat at the bar last night and greeted and served by lovely and friendly bartenders . Let me tell you they know how to make cocktails and how to host customers. Owner was a nice gentleman and he visited us and asked us how was everything. Delicious food very representable dishes yummy dessert

On May 25th, 2025, I hosted my sisters Bridal Shower at Prominence. To say it was incredible is an understatement. The atmosphere, food, service and drinks were just amazing. I had the sangria and OMG was it FABULOUS. The chicken francaise was moist, the penne Ala vodka was the best on the mtn top and the family style appetizers were delicious. We had rice balls, eggplant rollitini, a smoked meats and cheese platter and meatballs. We definitely did not leave hungry. Thank you to the Prominence crew for making my sisters special day as perfect as ever.

Another amazing meal! Called while we were en route and was able to get a reservation! Our waiter was fabulous, splitting an adult size salmon entree for our children. I had the mussels in white wine sauce and it was delicious! He could sense that my kids were tired and he made sure we were in and out in an hour. The owner Don stopped by the table to see how we liked our meal. Wonderful restaurant and cannot wait to come back!

Good service, very friendly staff. The food from eggplant rollatini, caesar salads, calamari and complimentary zucchini straws were excellent. The portions for the pasta dishes were so generous! This was excellent Italian food and I'm from NYC! They were kind enough to let us bring a cake in for a birthday we were celebrating. Highly recommended!

Great addition to the mountain. The veal chop parm is the real deal. Highly recommend. Frequented the location twice and must say the food is high level. Also had the tomahawk steak , along with mussels fra diavolo appetizer. Both were very good. Service was attentive as well.

What an awesome first experience in this newcomer to Windham! Such a beautiful, simple, rustic design- and a beautiful large bar with stone accent walls. Bartender Lindsay was so helpful, friendly and efficient. Works like a little rocket ship! The owner, Don, stopped by to introduce himself- what a lovely personal touch! The food was great- in particular the cauliflower appetizer! I will go back just for that! Totally addictive! Can't wait to go back try more menu items!

Service throughout the meal was painfully slow. There were only two waitresses working the entire restaurant, including an outdoor patio area. They were doing their absolute best, but it was just too much for two people. One of the waitresses didn't seem too familiar with the table identification system. Whenever a dish came out from the kitchen, she'd ask several different tables if the dish was what they ordered, seemingly having no idea which food belonged to which party. This was pretty bizarre and inefficient. They apparently forgot about our order. We ordered nachos as an appetizer, but they didn't come out until after our entrees arrived so we didn't end up keeping them. They did provide complimentary chips and black bean dip, so we at least had something to munch on during the long wait. We saw several tables that received no service at all, and folks had to get up to ask for their check and pay, because the waitresses were just too busy to stop by the tables. For an entree, I had the veggie tacos. The veggies included squash, zucchini, and onions. An order came with three tacos, as well as red and green salsa, black bean dip, and rice. The rice was mushy and the black bean dip wasn't super flavorful. The tacos were okay, but made better by a dousing of habanero hot sauce. My husband also got a horchata beverage and enjoyed it. I felt bad for the waitresses, as there was only so much they could do. In addition to serving, they bussed the tables, prepared the drinks, and served as hostesses. The food could've been better, but the service really tanked the experience.

We ordered a variety of dishes from the menu, and while most things were enjoyable, the star of the meal--the 42 oz porterhouse--left us a bit underwhelmed. It had decent flavor, but it was served cold, which took away from the overall experience. We also asked for it to be sliced, but it came out only partially cut, which felt a bit odd and made it harder to share. While it's not on par with high-end steakhouses in Manhattan or Long Island, for what it is, Lily holds its own as a decent local spot. I'd definitely consider returning to give it another shot--there's potential here with a few tweaks.

Our meal here was a bit disappointing. Their menu is different from what was posted online. We came wanting to try the brussel sprouts. Online, they were described as crispy, but turned out to be roasted with pancetta. I was also eager to try the soft pretzel. Online, it mentioned it came with a three cheese sauce, but at the restaurant it was served with beer cheese, which I can't eat. The name of the restaurant literally has "cocktails" in it, but they were out of nearly all of their fall cocktails. That being said, we tried to redeem the experience. Our waitress was friendly and kindly let us know that the sulphur in the tap water might be irritating, so we ordered bottled. The house salad was nice and fresh, and I loved the tanginess of the lemon vinaigrette. The mac and cheese was a generous portion size. It was a bit bland and could've used a sharper cheese, but it was very creamy with a nice baked top layer. The broccoli side was tasty and well seasoned with garlic. The onion rings were very crispy and also a good portion. My husband had the New York steak and enjoyed how buttery it was. However, they initially forgot to bring him a steak knife and it was hard to flag down a waitress to get one. Overall, we left full, but our expectations were not quite met.

Whether you're coming off a long day at Hunter Mountain or just passing through Windham, this spot perfectly balances a rustic, family-friendly atmosphere with a menu that doesn't cut corners. The Butcher Steaks: This isn't just a "chicken joint." They take their beef seriously, offering fresh-cut, flame-grilled steaks like the 24oz Ribeye and NY Strip. They even age their own steaks in-house when available, resulting in a tender, seasoned-to-perfection cut that rivals high-end steakhouses but at much friendlier "mountain prices." The Signature Fried Chicken: This is the restaurant's namesake for a reason. The chicken is consistently hot, crispy, and juicy. Pro tip: Get the combo that comes with their special honey sauce and "cornbread cake." Dipping the savory, salty skin into that honey is a game-changer. BBQ Ribs: If you're looking for "fall-off-the-bone," you found it. Their ribs are slow-cooked and slathered in a rich, tangy sauce that requires a stack of napkins and zero regrets. Save room--or just admit you're having a second dinner--for the homemade desserts. Their dessert bar and soft-serve ice cream are staples, but the real magic happens in the summer (or around the outdoor firepits) with their S'mores kits. It's the perfect way to cap off a mountain day. With a massive backyard featuring a firepit, live music on the weekends, and a "come as you are" dress code, it's easily the best spot for big groups. The service is fast, the portions are massive, and the "old-school country" energy makes you feel like a local the moment you walk in.

We discovered this place thanks to a lovely bookseller at Briars & Brambles. This was the perfect comfort meal for my birthday. Clean self seated tables and order at the counter. The service was fantastic. The owner/chef came by to check in with us. Everything came out super fast. Reasonably priced, especially compared to the area. Very casual relaxed vibe. The star was the sugar shack mac and cheese (recommended to us). It was maple syrup, brown sugar crumble and bacon with mac and cheese. Definitely unique and well balanced. It's quite sweet and savory but super unique. The chicken tenders were some of the most flavorful fresh ones I've ever had. Like you think chicken tenders are basic but this was incredible. Also thanks to the staff for letting us do a side of hush puppies (it was only part of the Friday fish special). The shrimp basket and fries was a large portion and delicious. Love that you can get unlimited sauces for the food at $.31 cents a sauce. Alcohol is served and reasonably priced. Loved the non alcoholic fresh drinks. The smashed burgers and salads were tempting. You order at the counter in this bustling little space and grab a table if you can. We ordered the vegetarian chopped cheese which has a strange seasoning on the soy curls; the chicken tenders were a hit; the baked mac and cheese was gobbled up; the fries were near perfect; but the veggie burger was blah. I make smashed veggie burgers at home, it's not hard to flatten the patty and add some seasoned salt. But this burger had two bland patties, a slice of tomato, and some wilted lettuce. Very sad. So although there were many happy meat-eating customers, they could definitely improve upon some of their vegetarian entrees.

Damon Baehrel, which is named after the chef himself, is probably considered the most exclusive restaurant in the world. It is literally a one-man show, as Chef Baehrel is the one who cooks, serves, and hosts a 5-6+ hour-dining experience for his guests at his beautiful home on his 12-acre property in upstate NY. As most know, this restaurant is booked solid until the year 2026, and they have not been taking any reservations/adding parties onto their waiting list since last year/'14 (this is for an indefinite period of time) - you bet your tootin' bootin' that I felt so victorious for bypassing others on the list by 11+ years!!! (Just note that it really doesn't matter 'who' you are, 'who' you know, and/or if you come equipped with a list of multiple referrals.) Known for his 'Native Harvest Cuisine,' every single item on his menu (besides the seafood that is brought fresh from Nova Scotia from his private supplier) is made/created/raised on the premise - when I mean every item, I mean EVERY item, from the flours, pressed oils, vinegars, breads, to the curing his own meats and aging his own cheeses! This restaurant is the epitome and the prime definition of what 'farm-to-table' should really be! We were welcomed warmly from Chef Baehrel, and I was super excited that we were his only guests for the evening - YES, IT WAS JUST THE 3 OF US, THE HUBS, ME, AND THE CHEF!!! (I think I literally sobbed right on the spot). Our super private dining experience was about 5.5+ hours, but actually flew right on by and was like a total dream - we were given a multi-course menu (about 24-26+ items, including some handful of extras since the Chef was just super excited in having us(!!!)), that featured seasonal, organic plants/fruits/vegetables/trees from his property, in addition to a lovely educational overview of each of the ingredients used for the dish. I just couldn't believe at some of the ingredients that he had used, and how each of them had a distinct flavor (and were all actually edible/okay for human consumption!) - it was amazing to listen to the experimentation, the time spent, the punctuality of harvesting such items throughout the year, and the multiple aging/preserving/curing process that he does. I had a lovely wine pairing with the multi-course dinner (delicious champagne, reds, whites, and dessert wines), while the hubs had homemade juice pairings made from the luscious fruits/tree saps (super delicious and refreshing!). The love, the passion, and the excitement from the chef was just purely an eye-opener, and this literally was the BEST DINING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!! BELIEVE THE HYPE (of the very few limited ones there are) - Chef Baehrel will change your life and exceed any and all expectations that you may/will have!!! You have to go there to experience it personally, as there are no words to describe such a unique experience - the overwhelming appreciation that you obtain in tasting the raw essence of the ingredients that are found around you was truly truly truly remarkable - Chef Baehrel is a GENIUS! Just note that there is no photography/video/recording equipment/note-taking allowed inside the restaurant, so PLEASE be respectful to the Chef (and, shame on those 'bloggers' who disregard/circumvent around this request/policy!). I cannot wait to go back! :D +BEST DINING EXPERIENCE EVER!!! +Chef Damon Baehrel :D +Native Harvest Cuisine :D +5.5+ dining experience :D +no photography/video/recording equipment allowed inside the restaurant - please be respectful!

I put in my…read morereservation request in August 2012 and fully expected a 5-year minimum wait but to my delight I was able to snag a "special seating" on a Sunday at 4pm. It helps to be flexible with your dates and within driving distance. 20 courses (!), 4.5 hours. 5 hour round trip drive. 1 car rental. Completely worth it. Damon Baehrel is the ultimate host, completely charming and engaging. My wife and I were the only guests and it was awesome! Not awkward at all. What I loved about the meal, besides his "Native Harvest" dishes, was that by the end of it you can start to understand his botany heavy food lexicon, as certain themes started to emerge. Stevia and clover as thickening agents, all sap everything, powders galore, nut flours, fermentation trickery, homemade cheese. Homemade everything! (except some salt and the seafood/wine). Hearing his insanely detailed and clever course preparations makes you feel guilty about eating all of these small bites in less than 30 seconds. Damon paces the meal perfectly, always happy to chat and answer your questions at length. He takes great satisfaction in his cooking and sharing his techniques. This meal is about learning the process as much as it is about eating, and both are better for it. There were some items that sounded cooler than they tasted, but overall each dish was solid. The highlights for me were the teal duck and the duck egg "creme brulee". I guess I like duck. If you are fortunate enough to get a reservation here come with an open mind and don't expect a rich fancy-pants food experience or you will be disappointed. PS - Leaving a one-star review for a restaurant you have never eaten at just because you can't get a reservation is pathetic.
