Everything! I've been coming here since I was a kid. Literally nothing has changed and that's a good thing. I love the little music jukeboxes that they have. It's so nostalgic. The square pizza is my favorite. It doesn't even need anything extra because it's just perfect the way it is. I like that they burn the top of the cheese. That's my favorite part. If you've ever binge watched "The Office" you know that they portrait the Scranton Pizza situation to be in a category all by itself. And if you're like me and actually tried the local Pizza here then you know that's definitely the case. Maroni's is an excellent example of this point in which I'm trying to make. With their unique one-of-a kind style Yellow Cheddar Cheese Square Pizza it's pretty undeniably obvious that "we're not in Jerzey anymore", Lol.    While I do have an open mind, I can honestly say that at first glance I thought this was probably gonna be the worst slice I ever put in my mouth, but it actually made me literally eat my words. Holy Smokes, this Pizza is Freakin Delicious!! Whoever invented this is an Outright Pizza Genius!! With it's light Saucy Tomato Flavor and it's Yellow Tangy Cheese with the Crispy Charred Edges it kinda reminds me of a Grilled Cheese Sandwich that's been dipped in Tomato Soup. I have absolutely loved the pizza here since i was a little girl but recently on multiple occurrences of ordering I have waited 45 minutes to an entire hour later after they told me the food would be ready. Tonight I called at 5:00 and I was told 1 hour to an hour and a half I arrived at 6:30 and I am still standing in here at 7:00pm waiting on an order. The pizza is amazing but the wait is awful. The absolute best pizza outside of New York. Reminds me of the homemade pizzas mom made when we were growing up. Same type of thickness in a crust yet thin enough to fold and hold while the mozzarella cheese strings down for that extra little bit of cheese we always want to eat from the other slices. This pizza didn't look as good as it actually tasted. I asked for extra sauce and couldn't see it but could definitely taste that and the unique cheesiness. The service was also great they called me in less time quoted to pick up the pie. The prices are very reasonable too. The only reason why they lose a star is because pepperoni was accidentally placed on two slices and that could've been a horrible day had we not noticed it prior to eating. read more

Pizza House is a totally right part of the name for Maroni's as this is indeed a house in the middle of a neighborhood like they have next door neighbors I found this whole location to be quite interesting as this is just something you don't always see. So on with the pizza! Of the options I went with a Square with pepperoni and onions my favorite it was ready at the promised time which was perfect as I was just passing through here. We took our pizza to a park and ate it the pizza was interesting as well but yummy all to it's own as the cheese was something like I've never had before it was like a liquid cheese mixed with mozzarella but still good in it's own unique way! The pepperoni was yummy and had a decent amount of them all over the square pie making for almost some in every bite. The only short fall here was the crust as it wasn't the best I've had but that interesting cheese sauce made up for it as I dunno I just kinda was like totally into it! read more

We were looking for a local pizza place (we aren't from Scranton) after doing the local Buddy Walk on a Sunday afternoon. When we walked in, the place was empty but the staff behind the counter was very busy at work, so we figured they did a pretty good take out business. We sat in the very chilly, very outdated dining room. I'm guessing they don't get many people who dine-in. The menu is very small, they offer pizza (square and round) and some subs. We ordered a round with sausage and pepperoni and a second round with half plain and half onion and sausage. It was brought out in a timely manner and was very hot. The cheese was very soupy and we had to let it cool a bit so the entire top didn't slip off when taking a piece. We didn't care for it at all. It just wasn't for us. The cheese is an American cheese mixed with sauce and like I said, it had a very soupy consistency. They did have a steady stream of folks coming in for take out so obviously it's for some people! read more

Great local pizza joint serving old forge style pizza. Was our first intro to this style and we loved it! Sauce was outstanding, little sweet which we like. Got one 1/2 blend cheese 1/2 moz. 1 kid loved the blend, other loved the moz. We enjoyed both but actually preferred the moz. Use real moz, not the fake plastic kind. Very cheesy, couldnt stop eating it! Crust is also very light and crisp on the bottom, not nearly as heavy as regular thick crust. Also ordered a pepperoni, sausage and mushroom with blend which was our fav! Sausage is homemade and prob the BEST sausage we've ever had on a pizza! Pepperonis were also thick and really good. Quality ingredients, great service, pies came out in 25 mins from call in. Bonus they have RC cola!! Def recommend! read more

Really great pizza -- square or round, a true local cult classic BUT these NEW, limited hours ARE RIDICULOUS!!! Close at 7:30? They are Crazy! Is it not known how many people are still at work??? Not for nothing, but I do recall later hours - - placing an order at 9:30 and picking it up 15 minutes later. Cash is still cash for two more hours. And as an aside for anyone complaining about the cold interior, think about working next to those huge ovens. As for the walls, they are decorated with history and family and community. Seriously, I am sure 7:30 close lost a portion of patronage; I really hope this is reconsidered. Suppose these hours affect the rush? read more

We had a horrible experience picking up pizza here. We were told that we had to wait an hour and 45 minutes so we arrived at the time our pizza was supposed to be ready. We were told "just a few minutes." We then waited over 30 minutes for our pizza and saw multiple people come and pick up pizza who had arrived after us and ordered around a similar time. We will never order from this pizza place during Lent again. After 50 years of going to this place and growing up around the corner, we were disgusted with our treatment tonight. Maroni's is truly a one-of-a-kind pizza. I love the spicy sauce they use, that oh so unique cheese blend that is creamy, gooey, and with some browning on top. The sausage and pepperoni they use is top-notch when it comes to pizza toppings. You really can't go wrong.. I usually order mine well done, and a lighter on the sauce.
