I have waited to write this review Bc I wanted to come here several times and write something solid, more concrete. I've been here 6x since opening and this place is pretty consistent with one idea, taking care of the customers. I never have to wait longer then a minute to get my drinks. The drinks themselves are phenomenal. Always balanced just right. Great beers on tab, huge wine selection, plus even larger whiskey, scotch, tequila, you name it, they have it. The owner himself is an excellent mixologist. I have found this place to be a regular spot. The games in the back was what this place needed, it got a huge facelift and finally is the bar it should've been. Excellent location and even though plenty of restaurants around it. No joke, their food is solid too. The pull pork is tender and juicy, the meatballs are huge and flavorful, and the best thing on the menu is their wings. Their wings are awesome. I'll rank them in the top 3 of Little Rock for wings. Come check this place out, you'll love the atmosphere and their patio. You will have a great time. read more

The staff is very friendly and the drinks are poured well. I've never had any complaints at this friendly neighborhood bar.

Service was acceptable until I got my email stating if I actually paid 57% tip from a $24 dollar tab and a $14 tip for a total of $38 this obviously is a tip boost from the bartender or just a mistake but still having trouble getting my $10 over the tip back. read more

I had a terrible experience at Proof last night. The staff was incredibly rude to our small group of friends who gathered there for a birthday celebration. As they were getting ready to close, a staff member walked through the bar yelling that everyone had eight minutes to get out. We paid our tabs, tipped well, and moved our conversation to the vacant sidewalk outside, as did another small group of patrons. When the staff took garbage out, they made comments about loitering, then slammed the door in our face when we asked if we could quickly use the restroom. Would not recommend if you are looking for a chill and respectable experience. We were not a rowdy or needy group. The arrogance and blatant disregard for basic kindness by the staff was appalling. read more

first time ever going and the guy behind the bar - - the cubby guy not the slim tall guy -the slim tall guy was doing everything while the chubby one stood there - the chubby bar guy kicked a man out that served our country bc he had a service dog inside. I was talking and he started to lean in my conversation and I told him excuse me bc it was very off putting and then he yelled for me to leave and said I wasn't welcome. you can't kick women out just bc they dont want to talk to you and it was very unkind to kick the man who served our country out for no reason as well. read more

They just redid their patio! Great escape and potential for a comfy hillcrest spot. However, they aren't there just yet. The inside is dark and has a sticky air about it and the outside, while seemingly redone, has room for improvement. The service has never been great. A few houseplants, lights, ambiance and small town kindness could do this place just right. read more

this places SUCKS. who closes at 1 am on a Saturday ? oh wait proof does. do not recommend going to this place at all. we tried to walk in before 12:30 and were told no in the rudest way possible. would never go here, if your in town visiting not worth the attitude you will be served with. the attitude was disrespectful and flat out mean. did not think I would have been treated that way in the south. read more

I want to rate the dude who works the Saturday night afternoon evening shift 0 stars but I haveto give at least one...went there on a Saturday night, skinny kid with dark hair and glasses. Worst bartender ever. Showed me that the wine I ordered came out of a can and then turned around and charged me 12 dollars for it. Talked about his co-worker after she left as well as customers after they left. He was bad mouthing people who spent a lot of money in there to other customers. This kid was Judgemental and arrogant and since there was no menu, probably made up the amount that he charged me for the wine. The management might want to count their money after he works and check their books. Just sayin. read more

The best feature are the two doors from which to flee. Sweatpants clad bartender yelling at customers to leave the bar unless you are ordering a drink but they won't take your order. This is a beer bar at best with much better options pretty much anywhere. The martinis are room temp vodka in plastic cups which is kinda like a birthday cake with no candles or cake. No basic cocktail shakers are present but if they are, who cares? No one knows how to use them anyway, so problem solved. The bartender was witnessed almost striking a patron in the head while madly dashing and grabbing bar stools for no discernible reason. A truly tragic establishment that fails on so many basic levels. The number of exits is great! Use them. read more

06/30/21 BEWARE- illegal activity occurs in this place. I went to bathroom after the female bartender and found a corner of a baggy with some type of illegal substance inside laying open on the toilet back. Spoke to who I assumed was the manager or owner and he appeared to be high as well as bartender. He apologized and I was promised it would be taken care of. The table we sat among was sticky and crowded. Drinks, whenever we could get one, where entirely to strong and poorly mixed. I decided to return the following evening because I couldn't believe how terrible the service was and found it to be even worse ( bartender must have ran out of drugs). Avoid this hole-in-the-wall at all cost. Jeepers!!! read more

Everything was fine until it was near closing time. The owner came around at 1245am yelling "get the fuck out of my bar". He kept yelling obscenities at everyone, forcing people out without any forewarning. The bartenders were apologizing for him, saying "yea, this happens sometimes". It was completely inappropriate and an awful way to treat patrons, even if he was having a bad day. I hope he has a better marketing strategy for the future. read more

Been to this bar before and had a good time so decided to go here Saturday night with friends. The owner decided to call "last call" at 12:30 am on a Saturday night and then around 15 minutes later go on a tyraid through the bar telling all his paying customers to get the fuck out of his bar. I repeat "I am the owner, and you need to get the fuck out." We were not even allowed to finish our drinks and were told "cops were outside so get the fuck out." I am no business major, but I have never heard of these business practices. Hopefully, you go on a night when the owner doesn't tell a packed bar to get the fuck out. Best of luck! read more

To begin this I will say we live in the neighborhood, and will frequently walk when weather is good. We would come here w/ the previous ownership and is was adequate, but just wasn't that great. When the new ownership arrived earlier this year it has been our go to neighborhood bar and especially happy hour, probably one of the best in town. I mean during warm weather months just try their Vagabond, usually 8-9$ and worth it, but only 5$ during that magical two hours of 4-6. Also, the old fashioned is solid as well. Although the drink menu is small, it is well done, and I'm sure that Gene and crew could make most any requests. Aside from cocktails, the beer selection is large and always rotating with just enough local brews included. I love drinking to say the least, but I in no way knew Gene before he bought the place, but he has become a bartender friend as my wife and I frequent the place, and we love the atmosphere that him and the staff has created, don't even know his last name, so we aren't doing this review because he's family or friend, just our new favorite neighbor. In ending, I would say there is also food!. Yes, its limited but done right, for the most part. Great pimiento cheese, simple w/ spice and some of the best in town (and I make my own and grew up on my grandmothers, and this is still great without being too over the top, and my wife likes it more than my numerous creations, that says a lot since she's from Dallas and doesn't even like the shit). I also love the wings, and once hand the meat/cheese board which was good, nothing great or poor about it but a good option for such a small, cozy bar. Still a great bar! Gene is always on point with his drink recommendations and the only time I have seen any issues is when a patron becomes unruly and is asked to leave. If you conduct yourself like an adult you will be treated like an adult. read more
