I've been buying Proper Cloth non-iron business shirts for about 8 or 9 years. They're really not that much more expensive than somewhere like Banana Republic, and they fit like a glove every time. They've also held up very well, including maintaining their non-iron quality. Every time I try to get a deal and buy cheaper shirts somewhere else, they don't hold up as well and I end up having to replace them much sooner. I use almost a dozen of the on-line custom tailor companies, but I do most of my business with Proper Cloth because it's the most professional, consistent, and offers the best customer service, and the products are delivered in a very nice very professional box. I buy about 15 to 20 shirts (or pants) from Proper Cloth in a given year. I do wish the web site designers would fix some of the minor issues, but its still one of the better ones in the category. Proper Cloth has a lot of dull business colors and patterns, and I need them, and buy them, but other on-line tailors have a much wider selection of vivid causal colors and patterns. I wish Proper Cloth would have a much wider variety of casual colors and patterns. Many of the fabrics are comfortable, and it was made per my instructions. Online ordering experience is fairly simple and offers the opportunity to customize practically every dimension of the shirt. Large selection of fabric. Great experience overall. I highly recommend. The first shirt was off a bit but I did the consult they offer for a remake. The remake fit incredibly well and I had a second shirt made using the measurements from my consult that I now have saved. That shirt also was a perfect fit. I have an athletic build with dwindling dad bod in my midsection. The shirt fits perfectly and is very sliming by getting rid of the excess fabric that comes from off the shelf clothes. As someone who does not have a standard-sized body, I've been thrilled to have found Proper Cloth. I order most clothes online because I live in Japan and there's almost nothing available in stores for someone my height, but ordering online is a bit of a lottery on fit and most often means that anything that is long enough for me will be too baggy. And even on the rare occasions where I can find brands & sizes that fit for pants or shirts, I often don't like the limited available style or fabric choices. I've ordered three items from PC and all fit wonderfully and appear to be well-made (too early in owning them to report on long-term durability). The range of fabric and style choices available is astounding compared to a couple of other custom-sizing sites I've used, where you're basically only choosing between long or short-sleeved t-shirts and a few color choices. There are far more options available on the PC website than even a standard-sized person could find on a visit to a large shopping mall or district. The PC clothes are expensive compared to off-the-rack but reasonable compared to visiting a bespoke tailor's shop (and most of those focus only on business suits and shirts). It's easily worth it for those who have trouble finding mass-produced clothes that fit, and given the vast fabric and style choices, I would probably use the site some even if I were standard-sized. If you'd asked me in 1999 how we'd all be buying clothes in the 2020's I would have predicted it would be something like the PC experience of being able to tailor to one's own body and tastes. It's disappointing that the clothing industry is mostly not at that point and also produces a huge amount of waste in clothes that work their way from production in the developing world to shipping to retailers in the developed world to discounters to landfills. Proper Cloth solves these problems. I hope they are very successful and spawn competitors! read more

Excellent customer service and great options for clothing. Proper Cloth has completely changed my definition of fit and changed the way I dress. My only complaints over the years have been: (1) fabrics being discontinued (please bring back Sutton Wrinkle-Resistant Sky Blue Imperial Twill PCF1892!); (2) the occasional fabric that fades or shrinks more than expected; and (3) some confusion about how to create new shirts based on past orders using the website. Overall, though, Proper Cloth is the best tailored clothing service I've worked with, and I'll continue to refer and come back. read more
