    Chicken Strips

Proposition Chicken - in Local Kitchens in Lafayette. The menu is limited compared to their full locations, but it's still good. They have 3 different types of chicken styles - Fried - classic fried, super delicious. Flipped - rotisserie style chicken Fake - crispy tofu with bbq sauce You can choose either a sandwich, entree, or salad with the above style of chicken, or chicken tenders (fried). We placed an order to go and got the following - Fried Chicken Sandwich - $11. The fried chicken on the sandwich was really good. There was great flavor to it. The sandwich had spicy slaw and mayo inside, and personally, it was too much mayo for me. The husband really liked it though, but mentioned that the slaw was one-note, a bit too drowned by the mayo. Flipped Chicken Entree - $13. LOL, can probably buy a whole rotisserie chicken for much cheaper elsewhere, but this chicken was really good. It came with a sweet buttermilk biscuit that was delicious. It was so rich. It also came with a cucumber tomato salad something that was like herbs in oil for dipping or pouring over the chicken or something. Chicken Strips - $9. Three delicious pieces of fried chicken strips with some carrot sticks, celery, and dipping sauce. The sauce reminded us of a buffalo ranch, but a bit on the thin side. The kids wouldn't eat the sauce, so the husband was dipping the fried chicken sandwich in it to give it more flavor, and I used it to dip some of my chicken in there too. Yum! The packaging was really good. Each box was labeled clearly, so much appreciated there.

Small gift from Yelp for Yelp Elite Week at restaurant.

We had serious issues with the Local Kitchen app/website. It would not accept my phone number. After 30 minutes of trying, I find out from Michele at the localfoodgroup.com that their website doesn't accept orders from VoIP carriers! I had to call my best friend to order my food from his cellphone! Proposition Chicken: Please find an easier way for people to order your food. I don't have this problem with Door Dash, Uber Eats or any other food app. I went and picked up my three orders. I ordered two fried chicken entrees and one rotisserie chicken entree and it totaled 46.45. Since it's Yelp Elite Week, I received 20 dollars off and a small gift (see pic). The fried chicken was ridiculously crunchy. It was the crunchiest fried chicken I ever had yet was very light. The cucumber tomato salad was a good size and the biscuit was like eating cake. It came with a spicy ranch sauce that made the drier parts of the fried chicken more moist and flavorful. Of all three pieces (thigh, breast and leg), the breast was dry inside but the rest moist. Flavor was good. I was able to eat all of it despite being a light eater. We haven't tried their rotisserie chicken and will have that tomorrow for lunch. I would love to come back regularly if their ordering app changes to allow VoIP numbers to order food. Otherwise, I can't order food through their website. Thank you Yelp for the small gift and allowing us to discover Proposition Chicken!

Wow!!, Another supreme YE event. Interesting business model these Local Kitchens have. They are hosting various restaurants around the Bay Area with their own chefs cooking the local restaurants recipes to the same quality standards and ingredients that you would find n the traditional restaurants The restaurants benefit by getting exposure to clients they would not have access to based on geographies and a small cut of the profit. Local Kitchens get customer data and a small cut of profit as well. In other words you could open a restaurant without having any physical location and staff with just recipes that you've curated and have the chefs at Local Kitchens preparing. Crazy. Anyway, I ordered the fried chicken. My wife had the chicken salad. Both were prepared exquisitely and emerged with military precision. The chicken came with a really nice spicy chipotle sauce for dipping, a very fresh tomato salad and a cornbread muffin. The chicken was the star of the show. Crispy, light golden brown with a really nice batter coating. I added honey on mine from my pantry which topped it off perfectly with just the right amount of sweetness. The manager even threw in an "It's It" ice cream as a special treat. Virtual restaurants have arrived.

Came to this location thinking it was a standalone shop, but surprised to find out there were other restaurants at this hub. Lots of cuisines to pick from. The chicken here is well flavored and the portions are HUGE so the value is here. The chicken itself was juicy, however the batter itself was almost over the top. The most fried batter I have ever encountered with fried chicken. The pieces are big but the batter itself accounted for about 1/3 of the dish - if you like eating pure fried batter then this is your place. The side cucumber salad mix was a nice refreshing compliment. Also got a side of fries, it was ok as it wasn't really seasoned but that can be easily changed.

    Dry and very old chicken.

Review update: Andrew reached out and was quick to resolve the issue. Even though I'm still not happy with my order, Andrew did take care of us and we will definitely give this place another try. The service is great! First tried this place 3 days ago, ordered fried chicken salad, fried chicken sandwich and fried chicken. Place was amazing and thought I found my new favorite fried check restaurant. Can't say I received the same service today. Ordered (2) fried chicken salads and sad to say, it was terrible. If I was close, I would return it. Chicken was very dry and old. Will give them another shot but very disappointed with our meal today.

I tried this place after trying a couple other Local Kitchens restaurants, they were quite disappointing. I had pretty low expectations for this place after my previous experiences, and when I opened the takeout boxes, it didn't look appealing. However, looks can be deceiving. The fried chicken entree was really crispy and not dry at all, the biscuit was good as well. The fried chicken sandwich was a bit dry, but it was still good and pretty filling. Food was ready on time and staff was on top of it.

Decided to give proposition chicken and local kitchens another try. Proposition chicken is inside the local kitchen, which is a collection of different take out restaurants. It has a nice setup where an electronic board shows the name and how long the wait is for pick up. The website made it super easy for ordering food from multiple places located at local kitchens. So when you can't make a decision, this makes it easy since there's multiple cuisine options to choose from. I'm glad there's also a parking lot which makes it easy to come in and pick up. Okay, now onto the food. I wanted to give the chicken another chance. The chicken this time was super crispy and delicious. I would definitely come back for the fried chicken salad but need to give the other menu items another try.

Classic fried chicken sandwich, nothin' fancy.

Decided to try this after it was recommended by a coworker. I've only just recently started incorporating chicken back into my diet after being a vegetarian for several years, so I'm definitely not a chicken connoisseur by any means. I ordered the *real* fried chicken sandwich. That being said, I love that Proposition Chicken has vegetarian options. To me the sandwich was delicious! Great breading to chicken ratio, and the chicken was fully cooked (believe me, I checked before biting into it). It was not dry. I didn't taste a lot of seasoning in the breading but the salt level was perfect. I ordered fries as well, and slathered the yummy mayonnaise from the fries onto the sandwich. That definitely amped things up. I have no complaints on the fries. The one thing I think could have been better about this sandwich was the bread. I liken the roll to the same kind of cheap roll I could buy at a grocery store. I think fresh-baked and different bread options would be really cool - let's see some sourdough, whole wheat, French roll, sweet roll, I don't know. For me the bread is really important and I think it was sort of lacking here. I can't really speak to the service since we ordered this through DoorDash. My only comment is it took over an hour to receive our food - our poor Dasher texted us from the restaurant apologizing that he was still waiting at the restaurant for our food (obviously not his fault). Long wait times really don't bother me as long as everything else is satisfactory, so although I was really hungry when the food came, everything was there and correct so I can't really hate on the Prop. Chicken staff. I am sure they have been overwhelmed with take-out orders during this time. I would order from here again. And that's coming from a former vegetarian! Ahh!

    Chicken sandwich with cold slaw.
    Mashi M.

Was so excited to try this new sandwich. Great reviews certainly draw us here but unfortunately one bite in all the excitement left as quickly as it came. The chicken was hard and you the one you quickly microwave to thaw and fried. The only tasty thing from this is the bread but again I didn't pay $12 dollars to enjoy bread only. Ver very disappointing cold slaw and super dry overly fried chicken. $11-12 sandwich fell flat . I would try something else on their menu to give the business another chance in case it was kitchens hiccup that day.

    Fake sandwich
    Marisol I.

Not what I expected, still very delicious. Potato chips not bad, however the "Fake Sandwich " was so flavorful and crispy. Very quick to order & receive food, super friendly atmosphere.

Proof that they were still open for DoorDash delivery, despite canceling an order placed two days in advance, and ducking DoorDash's calls.

I decided to give Local Kitchens a second chance - this time picking up the food - as I like the idea of of the SF restaurants together, in a closer location. It's easy to place an order online or at the location, and there's a video board providing status updates on everyone's orders. My family ordered the Fried Chicken Entree and Hand-Cut Fries. I wouldn't change the fried chicken, as my family was happy with it. The chicken had a fairly thick crust, was nice & crispy, and the meat was juicy. For those that like their fried chicken well seasoned, I ground some pepper and added a little salt, and it was seasoned perfectly, for me. Optionally, doctor it up with hot sauce or chili pepper, to taste. Obviously the seasoning or chef could change, so taste before you season. The fries were well seasoned, but I'd like them fried a little more crispy. Overall the food was very good, and hopefully they've fixed any DoorDash issues. Pickup is easy, so if you're in the area, it's the best option. We would definitely order from here, again. Recommended!

When looking for a restaurant to celebrate graduation, I had the following criteria in mind: (1)…read moreincredible food; (2) fancy yet relaxed ambiance; (3) located in the East Bay. As a huge fan of French cuisine, I'd been following RÊVE for years and decided to book a table for the graduation dinner. I made a reservation about three months in advance just to be safe, since the restaurant only has about eight indoor tables. The restaurant was tucked away in a nondescript strip mall, but upon entering through the side gate, I felt like I was stepping into a Parisian neighborhood bistro. Our friendly waitress walked us through the menu and seasonal specials and even pointed out the can't-miss dishes. Thank goodness we followed her advice - the frites were among the best I've ever tasted! We debated ordering another cone of frites but decided to pace ourselves because we also ordered the gougères, RÊVE salad, and escargot to share. Additionally, we received complimentary fresh baguette and butter. For my main dish, I decided to try the quenelle, which can be described as a soft dumpling made from seafood purée that resembles a velvety soufflé. Every bite had a rich seafood flavor that, even now, I can't stop thinking about. Even though we were quite full after dinner, we were tempted by the dessert menu and decided to split the chocolate mousse and French opera cake. Both desserts were exquisite - they were small portions but packed a lot of richness without being overly sweet. Our dinner was made extra special by the restaurant staff, who remembered that we were celebrating a graduation and signed a card for us. From the team going above and beyond to the excellent meal, this was one of the best meals I've had this year. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.
