We were warmly greeted by the host who was very friendly and welcoming. Likewise with each employee we encountered. Drinks were delivered quickly and food came on a timely manner as well. Located across the street from another of my favorite restaurants in Lafayette, Social Bird. It was Easter and we had 10 people and a stroller. We sat outside on the right side by the handicap access. It couldn't have been a more perfect spot. The staff pulled in 2 umbrellas without asking which was so thoughtful! I shared the NASHVILLE CHOPPED CHICKEN and DUCK BANH Mi which was a garlic aioli, pickled carrot & daikon,cilantro, mint, jalapeno, cucumber,banh mi glaze, torpedo roll. Like an Asian Gyro. Just the right size. I also had the WILDBERRY MOJITO Ron Corina, berry cordial, mint, lime. So refreshing and it gave me a gentle giggle. I enjoyed the Nashville chopped salad. The chicken was good. This is a nice spot for lunch with seating outside or inside. I bet it's hot outside in the summer as I think they need more umbrellas. Service was friendly and prompt. It's a good variety of food offerings and a good selection of beers too. I had the duck banh mi and it was very good! Generous amount of protein and plenty of pickled veg and I'd get it again for sure. If you like banh mi sandwiches, how can you resist when you see it on the menu? The accompanying fries were hot and just crispy enough without being too crunchy. Trying to find parking is the only drawback, but you can't blame it on the restaurant. Easily made a reservation on Open Table for Sunday brunch at 11 and there was a good number of spots available. Even a walk in seemed to have been able to snag a spot, however if you plan to come later around lunch time I noticed the place was filling up and some people did have to wait a little! Came for a birthday brunch with two coworkers and we were very happy with the food and service! Our server Steve was really great at describing the menu and the highlights and other people came by a few times to check on us too. I would say the service is what made me round up to a 5 instead of a 4 start review. Their brunch menu isn't huge but combined with their regular menu there is such a large selection of foods you can order that it is almost a little overwhelming. But if you're not in the mood for heavier burgers and sandwiches, there are also other options for you too! My lavender haze drink (mocktail) was okay but honestly wanted more lavender flavor to balance out the sourness of the lemon soda. However, the star of the meal was probably the burrata! It sat on a nice little round of butternut squash and arugula, drizzled with balsamic vinegar and just went so perfectly with the toasted bread that we had to order more bread to keep the goodness going! We also got the ahi poke wonton nachos and while this concept sounded really good, I would say the ahi tuna itself sort of missed the mark because the fish was a little stringy and not as fresh as I would have liked. I think it would have delivered better if the fish were more fresh and also...I didn't see any mention of cilantro in the description but I definitely tasted it (and I am an avid hater of cilantro--sorry, not sorry! so I'm just warning my fellow cilantro haters haha). I did like the wontons for texture and this could have been a good dish but just wasn't my personal favorite. The salmon salad was excellent though with lots of goodness embedded to find--apples, pears, pomegranate, butternut squash, candied pecans amongst green goodness and a well seared salmon. Very light and refreshing and a good portion! We also got the chicken and waffles (Not the smaller bites!) which was beautifully stacked amongst berries and a deliciously fried chicken. I think there could have been more chicken for the amount of waffles but it was yummy nonetheless! Had brunch here with a friend and our 2 dogs. Great patio area for us and the dogs to chill. I order the nashville chicken salad and it was a great salad. We shared the french toast topped with bananas was yummy too. The service though was top notch. They always checked in with us and bought us plates and boxes when requested. The salad was filling however, lacking flavor, and personally I could've used more of the vinaigrette dressing and a heartier piece of salmon. Service was on point with topping of waters for the table and taking order in a timely manner. Visited during weekday lunch, the tvs were playing sports updates and there was music playing as well. She ended up ordering the burger and I ordered the Philly cheese steak with the kale salad. The meat in the cheesesteak was flavorless and tough, kinda tasted like it was boiled. We came in with a party of seven to celebrate my fiancé's birthday, and from start to finish, this restaurant in Lafayette exceeded our expectations. We arrived around 1 PM on a Tuesday and were seated right away with absolutely no wait time, which was a great start. I kicked off my meal with the Tokyo Drift cocktail, and it was the perfect choice: refreshing, flavorful, and not too heavy. For appetizers, we ordered the onion blossom and the cauliflower. Both were cooked perfectly with a light, crispy fry, and the dipping sauces paired incredibly well. For my main dish, I went with the crab sandwich with avocado and a side of fries. The sandwich was packed with generous amounts of crab meat, and the toasted bread added the ideal subtle crunch to every bite. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meals, and the staff went above and beyond by bringing out a complimentary pudding for my fiancé's birthday. Had this place bookmarked for years and finally got around to trying it. Knew about it because one of our favorite pizza spots, Pizza Antica, is right next door. Met up with my two cousins for a little family time. My youngest cousin wanted the full rundown on our family history, so we gave her the uncut version nothing like breaking down family stories over happy hour : ) Speaking of happy hour, it runs from 2:30-5:30, with $1 off draft beers and $10 margaritas. The vibe was chill, but man, it gets LOUD in there. Indoor and outdoor seating options, and the staff was solid. We ordered off the happy hour menu. The nachos were good, no complaints. The fried onion blossom was really good, definitely worth ordering. The sweet potato fries were solid, crispy, and had just the right amount of seasoning. The Nashville hot sliders were tasty, but not that real Tennessee hot. Everyone's got their own spin, though, so I'll give them that. Still solid. Had a couple of Fieldwork Rotating Sours at 4.8%, which was a change of pace from my usual high percentage IPAs (6-9%). We visit Batch & Brine on a semi-regular basis and do enjoy it, but new issues seem to surface with each successive experience. Our most recent visit was particularly frustrating as there were disappointments in every key area. Food is tasty but always very heavy on carbs. I had the Pastrami Hash for brunch which was nearly all potatoes. Out of the few pastrami chunks , many were very heavily charred to the point of being incinerated. I really should have gotten a photo. The restaurant is lovely inside and out, but the inside is very unpleasantly noisy during popular hours. We prefer outside in nice weather, but these tables are claimed quickly. Service is usually exceptional, but was atrocious on our last visit. Again, this isn't the norm and I really don't know what was up with our waiter. He introduced himself once to take drink orders and then disappeared for the longest time. Someone else finally delivered 2 of our 3 drinks and we had to ask again for the 3rd. Our waiter never returned to take our food order (although I spotted him several times around the restaurant) and we finally flagged down someone else to take our food order after another 20 minutes or so had passed. We waited yet again after eating, and then our original waiter inexplicably showed up at the very end after someone else had handled our bill and the brunch crowd had long since cleared -- no apology, just goodbye. We like Batch & Brine enough that I'm sure we'll be back -- but it's quickly becoming a less common choice for us. read more

I waited a couple of months to go to this cute restaurant in downtown Lafayette. I've been wanting to go especially since they started doing a brunch. I finally got my family out for a brunch date on a beautifully rainy day. We came at 10:00am when they opened and it wasn't packed yet. They sat us quickly in a lovely booth that was plenty spacious for us four. I asked our server if the whole menu was available or only the brunch side and she said everything was available! That was a nice surprise, but I had to try the brunch menu since we were there for those hours. I got the southern Benedict, my sweetie got the salmon Benedict, my dad ordered the chicken fried ribeye, and mom got the Chile verde and eggs. The fried chicken was delicious and paired with that hollandaise is magic. I love that the hollandaise is well balanced with enough lemon and buttery notes. I loved that it was on a biscuit that was buttery and flakey. The potatoes were sort of bland. They had a good crunch but not enough flavor. My mom's child verde and eggs was delicious. That hatch chili is incredible! Sadly my mom's eggs had a hair in it. Luckily when we told the waitress she was very kind and it was handled with care. The entree was taken off the bill and they offered to get her something else. I was pleasantly surprised at how they handled everything and made ya feel very welcomed. I was on a quest to try what a newspaper article had said were the best chicken wings in the Bay Area. Batch & Brine was on the list. Unlike other places on the list, this is a sit-down restaurant with a full menu. The wings are an appetizer option. I had to limit my intake so I had just that. You get 8 wing pieces, half drums and half flats, with a cup of sauce and a few celery sticks. I didn't try the sauce because I like my wings dry and because the flavoring, labeled as Memphis bbq, though not strong was quite tasty. The wings are presumably cooked to order; the meat was a little but not overly dry. This was a pretty good wing offering. I found myself abandoned by my server for a while; when she finally returned she spoke of some crisis that had delayed her. read more

First off, this has nothing to do with food or anything. We have eaten here many times, we are complicated group as we have many with celiac disease and this place is absolutely wonderful with allergies. I hate to give it a one star but our experience last night was absolutely horrible and I hope no one has to go through what we did. I had made the reservation on open table over a week ago to make sure we had a place to eat at on Mother's Day. However, we were running late, I called three times with no one answering the phone to tell them we were running late. Our reservation was at 5:30, I get an email at 5:35 saying our reservation was cancelled and when we got there at 5:50pm, they gave our table away earlier. Per Open Table, it says they are to hold the reservation for 20-25 minutes and that was not done. They tried "fitting us in" but with small children, it was not feasible to wait the 45 minutes they quoted us. We ended up going up the street to Uncle Yu's who could take us right away. The first host was absolutely rude and treated us like we weren't welcomed. When I came to tell them to take our names off their waiting list, a different host was up there, asked why and what had happened and I complained to her and she had apologized, but nothing could be done. I am not sure if we will return yet or not do to the rudeness and the up and down looking from the first host made us incredibly uncomfortable. read more

These choices ranged from the Nashville hot chopped chicken salad, to French toast, and huevos rancheros. Batch & Brine really does have something for everyone on their extensive menu. At the conclusion of the meal our friendly server offered my daughter chocolate pudding or ice cream for her birthday (this was her introduction to birthday treats at restaurants...things will never be the same). Went here for the RNB Brunch last month and had a great time! It was a nice vibe, no one acting crazy, everyone vibing. Service was a bit slow and we were really hungry, but the server was cool. Managers did check in to see how things were. Music selection was good and it was super funny seeing the locals looking over at the restaurant. Probably never heard anything like it before, we were taking over that area! For the food: I had the crab Benedict. Initially, it tasted cold but then after a few bites, it could tell it was warm. The potatoes were excellent! I wish I had a whole bowl of them! My cousins had the chicken & waffles and the chicken was juicy yet crunchy.
