Seven Moving

Seven Moving

I've moved many times over the years, and I can honestly say this was the best moving experience…read moreI've ever had. Seven Moving was outstanding from start to finish. The team was incredibly professional, reliable, efficient, and respectful throughout the entire process. A special thank you to John, Eric, Yerdos, and Zhamshid. They were an amazing crew. They worked hard, handled everything with great care, and were impressively clean and organized the whole time. They made what is usually a stressful day feel smooth and easy. It's rare to find a team that is not only hardworking but also kind, trustworthy, and pleasant to have around. I highly recommend Seven Moving to anyone looking for top-quality movers. Truly the best team I've worked with.

I was especially grateful they didn't spam my inbox or blow up my phone after I requested a quote online - they absolutely respected my communication preference of no phonecalls please. I was also relieved they didn't make me fill out a complete, room-by-room inventory of what I needed moved. They charged a very reasonable flat hourly fee based on how many movers I requested (I went with three, which worked well). I was a little nervous that they didn't take a deposit - were they really going to show up?? but not only did they show up (and on time), they worked so quickly you wouldn't have guessed they were getting paid hourly. 10/10, would recommend and will rebook next time I have to move (hopefully not soon).

Octopus Moving - Experienced movers carefully delivering and arranging belongings in your new home

Octopus Moving

We were moving my dad into housing, and many of the movers I contacted were costly. This was hard…read moreas he is on a fixed income. I contacted Octopus and got a very reasonable estimate. They showed up on time and completed the move quickly and efficiently. They even took a gigantic couch out of a narrow door. They dealt with an elevator as well as my especially chatty dad. Highly recommend them! Another thing I appreciated was that it was just the right amount of contact after I requested the estimate. I got a phone call and a text afterwards (I was told I was getting a text). Really appreciated not being flooded with texts and emails! Thank you again.

Great job from start to finish! I contacted Octopus because…read moreI needed to move several large items, including my grandmother's antique dining set, from a nearby storage facility to my apartment. Unlike my experience with many of their competitors, Octopus promptly answered my call and provided a very reasonable quote. The service was scheduled for a few days later and the movers arrived promptly, loaded the truck and delivered/unpacked everything within the two hour window (1 hour 57 minutes!) I was targeting. They even reassembled the table for me. Both movers were polite and efficient. From what I understand, the company is based in Massachusetts and has recently branched out to the Providence/Newport area. I hope that they will be successful here. Highly recommend giving them a try!

The Two Brothers Moving Company - Residential Moving. In different places in Boston Massachusetts

Required an 80% up front deposit. Google Gemini told us this was a fraud red flag. To quote them:…read more"Looking at the screenshots you provided, there are several significant red flags. While the company (Two Brothers Moving) has a valid USDOT number, the specific terms of this quote are highly irregular for the industry. Here is a breakdown of why you should be extremely cautious: 1. The Deposit and Payment Schedule This is the biggest red flag. The quote lists a $7,097.60 deposit and states that 80% of the total is due 24 hours prior to the move. Industry Standard: As mentioned before, reputable movers rarely ask for more than 10-20% upfront. The Risk: By paying nearly $7,100 before they even park the truck at your door, you lose all leverage. If they don't show up, or if they show up and demand more money (a common tactic), you have already handed over the vast majority of the funds. 2. The Price Point The quote is to move a 1-bedroom apartment from Connecticut to Virginia. Context: While long-distance moves are expensive, nearly $9,000 for a 1-bedroom apartment is significantly higher than average market rates. For a move of roughly 350 miles, a 1-bedroom usually ranges between **$2,500 and $5,000**, depending on the level of service. The "Per Diem": They are charging you $450 for "Overnight lodging per mover." Most major carriers bake these costs into the line-haul rate rather than line-iteming hotel stays for the crew. 3. Discrepancy in "Project Type" The quote explicitly labels this as a "Local Move" in the Project Information section. Why this matters: Moving from CT, to VA, is an Interstate Move, not a local one. Labeling it as "local" can sometimes be a way to bypass certain federal consumer protection regulations that apply specifically to interstate household goods movers. 4. The Platform The URL app.supermove.co is a legitimate software platform used by many moving companies to manage bookings. However, just because a company uses professional software doesn't mean their specific business practices or pricing are fair. Summary & Recommendation I would not sign this or pay that deposit. An 80% pre-payment for an 1-bedroom move is predatory. Even if the company is "real," these terms are designed to protect them entirely while leaving you with zero protection if things go wrong."

We surmise, not insured. No written quotes, only verbal. Be sure and communicate clearly; we had a miscommunication that almost derailed our move day. I thought we were doing a good thing giving our biz to a local, small moving company but now regret it post move.
