Now that I have become a regular here I do feel the need to update my review. I come here about once a week so the staff definitely knows me and it's friendly. There are a variety of places to sit including by the window, at the bar, at the front tables or in the back. I am pretty sure you can also sit outside when it is warm but I have never actually sat there. Their menu has a great variety and I always take advantage of their specials because they are super fresh and interesting. I tend to always go for the kale salad because it is my absolute favorite but I have been trying to mix it up. My boyfriend can't say no to the macaroni and cheese it is so creamy and delicious with a variety of cheeses. One time when the waiter forgot to bring me my dessert he gave it to me on the house which I think was really sweet of him. I tend to avoid on weekends because I imagine it would get really crowded because it is so good. I love their wine, and they have wine on tap. I really have no complaints about the spot and probably go there too often! read more

This place is fantastic! Happy hour til 8 Monday to Friday, and Sunday to Wednesday, burger and a beer for 14$. And the food has been awesome, tried the burger, bison burger and the steak sandwich. All have been excellent. read more

I came here for Mother's Day brunch and it was terrific. I also came back for dinner on a Friday night with the same pleasurable outcome. Good menu selection and portions that are reasonably priced. Had the Eggs Benedict that was very good (subbed bacon for smoked salmon and added avocado), the pretzel appetizer, and the chicken pot pie. The pot pie was good, but it did need a little bit of table salt which I added and it was fine. Drinks are well priced too, and not skimpy! The place is clean, spacious, and they have a nice outdoor area as well. Staff is very friendly, our guy Ricky was great both times we were there. This is a great neighborhood place that is unpretentious and has a nice vibe. I will be returning to this place often. read more

THE GOOD:Great, friendly bar staff... one of those bars I enjoy relaxing at alone for dinner and a glass of vino. Mac & cheese is heavenly, and the duck egg-rolls (which were a special I believe) were amazing. THE BAD: I ordered the bison burger last night which was quite disappointing. Ordered it rare to medium rare and it was so well done and dry, it was like eating the charcoal itself. I'm forever on the hunt for places that feel cozy and unfussy, and make good food. This is one of those places. They've got a solid tap beer menu with rotating seasonal options, a super delicious, juicy, totally un-hockeypucklike burger (that, Hallelujah!, actually came out medium-rare as requested - a rarity imo), and a sweet brunch, from what I've heard. It feels cozy in the winter because of the dark wood and warm lighting, and is a nice spot in summer because of the back patio. One of the best! I love this place! My boyfriend and I keep coming back. I find the food prices are quite reasonable, portions are nice and we've never been disappointed with our choices. Nice selection of beers even though they don't have Guinness! LOL Some nice wines in the bottle and I hear they are getting some really nice wine on tap! One reviewer thought the place was overpriced, unimaginative and massively yuppified. I didn't get that feeling at all. They don't serve your typical "bar" food and the specials ARE imaginative and not overpriced. Whenever my boyfriend and I have been there, on a weeknight or weekend, there seem to be all ages, including a few toddlers with their parents (the stroller crowd) sitting at tables in the back area. Our experiences have always been the best. Bartenders and servers are pleasant, always seem to be in a happy mood and smiling. This bar made us feel comfortable the minute we walked in! Love it! Came here with co-workers for after work drinks/apps. We order the bacon mac n cheese eggrolls, buffalo wings, meat/cheese board, the pretzel and several other things. Everything was amazing. and the drinks were all great. I had their signature thing called the Bramble. All of the food was GREAT and priced well. When we walked in it was much brighter and modern than I had expected it to be. I got the chicken tender appetizer and it was a mountain of delicious. Prospect drew me in because of its spacious back patio, and it didn't disappoint. The hubs and I had a serene brunch here slightly before noon on a Saturday. There was only one other party sitting outside, and they were quiet, so we were totally relaxed. For $14, you can get any of the entrees, plus a bloody mary or mimosa and coffee or tea. I had eggs benedict (minus the ham), which came with a side of fried potatoes and a generous amount of blueberries and sliced strawberries. The portion size was just right, although I couldn't resist stealing some of the hubs' french toast after I was done, therefore I was stuffed. The hollandaise could've used a little more zest and the eggs were just a tad too runny, but otherwise everything was very good. The side of potatoes was really tasty and the texture was just crispy enough. I also enjoyed my stolen bites of challah french toast. They used good orange juice for the mimosas, too. Our server was friendly and punctual with the water & coffee refills. I would definitely recommend it for a low-key, budget-friendly brunch. It also looked like they had a good drink list at reasonable prices, so I would definitely go back for drinks or perhaps try dinner there sometime. read more

I am visiting from out of town and this place and food was mediocre. When we arrived we stood there waiting to be seated. Then we were told to sit wherever. We probably waited another 10 minutes until we saw our waitress. She was not very engaging. She took our order and never brought me my drink. I had to ask a second time. Then when our food did come she disappeared and never even asked us if everything was okay or if we needed anything else. After we were done eating I had to ask for the check. She brought it but never came back again. I had to go find her to pay. Maybe she just didn't want to be there. I won't go back and I won't recommend this place. I'm sure there is much better somewhere in Park Slope. read more

Skimped on the food: lox plate had little of said lox and the club sandwich had an un ripe tomato and sad piece of salad. Coupled with a terrible server who couldn't bother to ask if we wanted refills on anything. Its sad as its a great space that is already in decline. read more

This is for sure one of my go to brunch spots!!! I love that there are more than just a few tables inside which means you very rarely have to wait to get seated! I love brunch and saw that this place was not packed with an hour wait, so we decided to give it a try. Now I know why it was so easy to get a table. The food was bland! I got french toast and it was so boring. How do you screw up French toast?! Then, I requested eggs on the side with goat cheese, and was told the chef refuses to accomodate special requests. Terrible! Who do they think they are?! My husband had the bison burger that was average at best. Despite the awesome patio area, we will not be going back. read more

I love having this place in the neighborhood. The food won't blow you away, but it's good, they keep a decent rotation of seasonal beers, plus 6-7 solid mainstays, the staff is friendly and they have a nice long happy hour until 8 M-F. Another thing I like about Prospect is how spacious it is; it's rarely crowded and has a nice outdoor space for the warmer months.
