It was a special day and one that we will certainly remember thanks to Prospect Gourmand. Everything we ordered was insanely delicious! Like, surprisingly so. I ordered the goat cheese omelet (my fav is from Blu Jam, so they definitely had competition) and a cocktail. Let me just say, it easily matched up with Blu Jam, and my meal and experience as a whole with Prospect Gourmand definitely gives them the edge. It was DIVINE. Oh my god, the hash brown hockey puck. This should be the standard for hash browns from now on. Think McDonald's hash brown, fresh out of the fryer, but with a softer, thicker, creamier potato layer inside. Very much to die for and went really well alongside the omelet. Even the little side salad was super fresh and tasty. Can't remember what my sister ordered, as this was a couple months ago now, but I know that my mom ordered the Croque Madame and it was so good that I ended up jumping on the leftovers. I also want to give a huge shoutout to the owner, she's absolutely hysterical and so much fun. Accidentally stopped in during a weekday lunch and very glad I did! I parked way to far from a coffee shop I was planning to work in and saw Prospect Gourmand through their glass walls and decided to ask if they'd be alright if I worked here (and ate) for a little bit. Since it wasn't too busy, they were very kind enough to say yes and give me wifi access so I tucked myself into the corner. Staff from start to finish was really friendly and attentive. Andrew, my server was really great! During lunch they have a $25 special which comes with an iced coffee, choice of soup and salad, and one entree. A really great deal! The soup was a tortilla vegano soup and very tasty. The salad had fresh arugula, almonds, and goat cheese - very light and fresh! Came here with my girlfriend for Valentine's day, and we have only good things to say. You can choose from a great selection of small bites to share, or go for larger entrees if you're really hungry. We opted for the first option and got the NY strip steak, catch of the day, oysters and their vegan tortilla soup. All of them were delicious. Drinks were great, we ordered multiple rounds. Our server Chancey was very sweet, took time with us and walked us through each item we ordered. We were FINALLY able to come back today, which wasn't a day too soon because my girlfriend has been dreaming about that tortilla soup. And I love that the flowers and decorations from Valentine's have remained up, made for a very romantic lunch. So happy to have found this spot. I wanted to love this place so much. It is truly a family run establishment as other people have mentioned. I feel like I am in somebody's living room. I thought the service was amazing and had a nice chat with one of the owners. Unfortunately, it seems like the food is not equal to the service. We ordered 2 prix fixe tasting menus and added the crispy Brussels sprouts. Because they are a must order wherever found. I would give those brussels sprouts a three out of five. I found them a bit on the oily greasy side. My dining companion thought they were good and had no complaints. We both ordered different starters. She had the salmon tartar, and I had the sweet potato taquitos. The salmon was nice and seemed fresh liked the sauce. The sweet potato taquitos were more like a dessert than an appetizer. The addition of the marshmallow was too much and put it way too much towards the sweet side and there was absolutely no acid or spice in the dish. Also, it was a bit hard to eat honestly. For our mains, my dining companion had the pasta which was quite simple just a tomato sauce, noodles and broccolini, which she liked. I ordered the duck breast. I had asked for this medium rare, and I expected a duck breast with the layer of fat on it. Just you know, prepared as you normally have it. It was on top of a curry carrot purée. The purée tasted medicinal like it just had a ton of turmeric in it like a literal metric ton. In my opinion inedible. The duck breast was very very odd. It was two duck breast slices, no fat layer and cooked way beyond redemption. I would say well done as there was almost no pink at all in the duck breast. I did not enjoy the dish and it made me a bit sad. We took our desserts to go and ate them at home and they were excellent. I have to say love the desserts, chocolate ganache cake and a cheesecake. If the duck breast had been properly prepared, and that carrot purée didn't exist, I would've given this place a four out of five easily. With one cocktail this ran us about $190 with the tip. My expectation when you order a duck breast is that it comes out done as you ordered it, and I don't know who would order it any other way, other than medium rare. I did eat most of it because I was hungry and also I felt really bad honestly and didn't want to say anything. I ended up actually saying something obviously and I didn't even want to write this review because I was very disappointed and I want this restaurant to be a success. I love their decor and I love their eclectic menu.. but that duck breast is not something that should've been sent out of the kitchen. The kitchen wasn't even that busy there was maybe two other tables when we ordered. Definitely I want to give this place another chance and so will go again another time. read more

The server had her dog following her around the tables as she got orders and we thought maybe this isn't the place but we were in a hurry and it was the closest to the theatre.
