A beautiful spot in Stanley Park with a breathtaking view of the Lion Gate Bridge. You do have to pay for parking but the pass you buy can be used anywhere in Stanley Park (and is required everyone in the park too). There is also a nice gift shop and and tiny spot to pick up snacks like ice cream. Yes, it is swarming with tourists (like myself) but it was still really nice. read more

I'm honestly surprised by the quality of food for a cafe in a park. Years ago I went to the Fish House in Stanley Park and just didn't like it. This place, however, is pretty darn good! I had the special, Ribs with sweet potato fries and slaw. It hit the spot after a long day of sightseeing. There is a nice view of the bridge to go along with an excellent meal. Since most of my visits to Stanley Park are for walks around the seawall, I don't really eat there very often. I'd heard of Prospect Point and really wanted to go there, so when I had a visitor come to Vancouver for the first time, I suggested that our day-trip to Stanley Park include the hike up to the restaurant (which isn't too bad, but be ready for a bit of adventure if you're not driving!) for some lunch. The first impression of Prospect Point is the absolutely stunning setting. You can't beat the natural beauty of Stanley Park. We were lucky enough to have wildlife out and about when coming up. The restaurant utilizes a lot of wood textures and is really made to let in natural light. It's very roomy, with big tables and plenty of room. The views from the windows are incredible. That's kind of where things went a bit downhill though. The service started out bad and stayed bad. Our waitress wasn't even necessarily unfriendly - she was just outright not interested. She didn't want to see how we were or answer any questions. She seemed clearly bored from the moment she said hello to us, which isn't really acceptable in any restaurant, but at the cost of Prospect Point, definitely shouldn't happen. The food is very expensive. The teriyaki chicken burger I had was absolutely delicious, but not so unusual or outstanding that I couldn't have feasibly gotten a similar meal somewhere else. If you're going for the atmosphere and view, it's worth it. Not to mention you don't have a lot of options once you get into that part of the park. But if you're looking for an outstanding meal or all-around great experience, there are plenty of more deserving restaurants right downtown. read more

5 stars for view if seated by the windows. The staff was friendly. I had lunch and enjoyed the food. Some of the drinks listed on the menu were not available (apple and pear cider). The food was delicious and delivered promply. The seating is small wood tables and some chairs have arms and some are armless. There is plenty of room for a motorized scooter. read more

Beautiful views. Meh food. It sits in a beautiful wooded setting. The woody smell reminded me of camp. Sits very close to the lookout. We biked here from the Seawall for brunch on a late Saturday morning. The place was empty. There was one other family there. After the awkward exchange with the lady behind the counter who was clearly learning English, my husband ordered the meal with two eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast. He also ordered a coffee. I had the ham omelette meal. The ham was actually bacon. My husbands meal cost more than mine, but I ended up having the same exact meal...but more of it. My omelette was bigger than his two scrambled eggs. Just go with the cheaper omelette! I found the food to be acceptable for sustenance, we were hungry and we needed to eat. It filled that purpose. If I want great food, I likely won't be going back. We got quite hot while we were eating. I did notice someone setting up a fan as we were leaving. I honestly didn't even know they had wait service here...it was non-existent on our visit. We weren't sure if we were supposed to clear our own dishes or not. read more

This place has been on my bucket list since October 20 2016, actually earlier, however, considering the weather lately this has been on the back burner for some time. It's a tourist trap with a nice view. I came here with some out of town friends since they wanted to do something somewhat touristy but not adventurous in the lower mainland. Prices are super expensive being a tourist trap, however, on the flip side 'cause you're spending good coin the customer service is beyond amazing, therefore, you get what you pay for. I have driven past the Prospect Point Cafe countless times on my way through Stanley Park, so when I saw a Groupon offer for the place, I thought I'd give it a try. The primary clientele here is tourists, which sadly means that not much effort is put into service. Menu prices are outrageous. My two piece halibut and chips was actually pretty tasty, but did not come close to justifying the $21.99 price tag. Visit Prospect Point for the fabulous view (strangely enough not visible from the cafe), but go elsewhere for lunch. read more

The food is blah, the service is awful the view is stunning. The location is absolutely gorgeous. Sitting on the patio you have a view of Lion bridge. The atmosphere is amazing and it was the perfect weather for sitting outside. Our experience all around was great minus the following. We were seated right at our reservation time which was great. We were told that we were lucky we had a reservation as the wait is 45 minutes. There was no one else waiting and when we went out onto the patio there were at least 15+ tables open. Our server was nowhere to be found. The complaints about the staff are all throughout these reviews and unfortunately we had the same experience too. It was like pulling teeth to even get us water. We also had my service dog and unlike everywhere else I've been here she never got or even asked if our dog would like some water. I only say this because every other place in Vancouver has offered it without even asking. Our server finally came by the table and tried to leave with only our drink order even though we told her we were ready to order. I can't even say she was rude so much as completely uninterested. I was honestly surprised our food order even came out properly. Our food took about 35-40 minutes to come out. This was surprising considering there weren't that many people there. I had asked if the salmon was spicy and was told no... it was spicy. We had a 6 year old with us and asked if they had a kids hamburger. Our waitress told us they had a kid menu but they never brought it. When we were done eating once again our waitress could not be found. We asked 2 people for our check and no one brought it. I finally had to go inside and find our waitress to pay our bill. If the restaurant and views had not been so beautiful this place would have been a total bust for us. Ended up here last Friday evening by coincidence with two of my friends from overseas and tried the Park Platter with a Pitcher of Beer. This is huge, even for 3 biggys like us. We had visitors in town and saw this restaurant while visiting Stanley park. The restaurant looked very clean and presentable for a nice sit down lunch, so we decided to grab some food there. However there were many let downs during my lunch. I first asked if they had heated patio, and was told they did, but the waitress brought us to a section on the patio that did not have a heat lamp. They didn't have enough heat lamps to cover all the seats. The menu selection was okay - not a lot of choices but that's okay as they had the menu outside by the entrance so I was not upset about this. We ordered our food and had some more negative experience. First we saw there's wifi called pp_guest, but it asked us to login to Facebook. That's very personal. It also had alternate login with a code. I asked the waitress what the code was and was told they did not have wifi. When they gave us the cultinery, it was with paper napkins, not cloth napkins. For the nice settings and decors I was expecting cloth napkin. One of the plates was not clean. Food itself is not bad. The fries and onion rings were amazing. However the beef in my burger was a bit dry. During course of meal our waitress did not come back to check and ask how things were. She also was not friendly (just took our orders, no smiles). I think our experience would have been a lot better had waitress been better trained to get us a heated spot, answer wifi information correctly, and at least attempted to be more hospitable. I have to say the manager on duty was good though. When we are about done, he did came by and ask if we need a heat lamp and how everything was. Since I was almost done I just said we are okay. Overall descent food, poor service, nice ambient and decors, and would really benefit from better trained servers. read more

For those who have not visited Prospect Point Café yet, frankly speaking, this must be at your "to do list" if you are in Vancouver. Yes, location and view is a great selling point, but they are unbeaten in reflecting that into their menu presentation and food preparation. Service is casual but very intimate and friendly. We arrived at Prospect Point Cafe after a full day of activities at Stanley Park and knowing we had further plans in the evening, so we decided to split a light lunch. The food was very good. We split a chicken sandwich with a side salad. The chicken was moist and flavorful and was accented nicely by the berry spread underneath. The side salad was everything a salad should be. (Honestly, I have no idea how you do it in BC, but every salad we have had here has been amazing.) The service loses a point. Honestly, I'm not sure who our server was. We were greeted by one person, sat by another, delivered water by a third, had the order taken by the manager, checked on by a fourth, drinks delivered by a fifth, food delivered by the person whom I believe delivered the water, checked on by a sixth, asked for the check from the sixth, and paid the first person who greeted us. While I'm happy that everyone was aware enough to provide service, it was slow because no one was in charge of it. That being said, it is worth a stop in at the restaurant. A must stop destination if you are checking out the beautiful Stanley Park. The restaurant has a lovely view overlooking the lions gate bridge. My partner ordered the Salmon burger and could not stop raving about it for the rest of our trip. I ordered the seafood fettucini which hit the spot after a long walk through the park. The service was excellent, we were served by a young Australian gent named Naveed. I have travelled extensively and worked in the hospitality industry for a long time but I can honestly say Naveed represents the standards that all restaurants should have when it comes to service. 5 stars read more

The restaurant has a rugged build with fantastic views over the bridge and harbor. We had great service, but it wasn't very busy either.
