We parked in the area around noon on a Sunday to find something to eat and this was the first restaurant we came upon. It ended up being a delicious brunch, we sat outside to enjoy the nice weather and got coffees and breakfast food. The servers were very cheerful and accommodating, I would definitely recommend coming here for brunch!

The service was impeccable, the food was really delicious and everything was just perfect. The ambiance was pretty cool too. I knew walking and I would love this place, but when I saw the food, I was super impressed.

Macaroni salad - bit too tangy for my liking. Potato salad would pair better with the brisket.

Was scheduled to come back in the next few days but I don't think I'll return. Brisket was good in texture but everything was a bit too salty for my taste. The yellow accompanying sauce doesn't seem to pair as well as a straight gravy or barbecue sauce would. The macaroni salad should just be potato salad. The liver and pâté on waffles was interesting. Wouldn't repeat. Portions also seem small for the price. One toilet wasn't flushing so there was a lineup for bathrooms. Also really noisy on a Friday night making it hard for conversation. Bit disappointed that our server knew about my friend's birthday from my Open Table reservation but didn't do anything other than a greeting with that information. He was good about checking on ingredients for her allergies though.

I came here a while ago and I had a great experience. Their restaurant is beautiful inside and their patio is awesome (perfect for the summer). They have a great menu with different options, so it can help everyone with their needs. If you are struggle with their menu, their waitresses are really helpful and they can give some tips. Their cocktails are fantastic and my favourite food was their Arctic Char, which it is a gnocchi squash tomatoes and butter sauce. It was so yummy. I wish they have more options for meals but I think their focus on shareable meals. It does make sense though, great idea to socialize more with friends through the food. Great place and I do recommend to make reservations!

Very cute café, no air conditioning, though, so it was a little warm. The service was spotty, attentive at times, and slow at other times. Food was picturesque. Turkish eggs were delicious, and the spinach and mushroom eggs benedict were so good. Potatoes were good, salad was bland. The lavender lemonade tasted like plain lemonade, no lemonade. The food took longer than expected to come out. Some paid street parking available.

Wow! Delicious! The 1/4 chicken was on the specials menu and we were both so thankful! Our server Tara and Manager Emmitt were so friendly and accommodating! The vibe is upscale but approachable. If we lived in town, this would be in our regular rotation.

Walked by here very often and always wanted to try. We were seated outside on the patio for brunch. The restaurant itself is very aesthetic and service was very prompt given how busy the restaurant was on a long weekend at 11am. Ordered the rigatoni alla carbonara and was disappointed. The sauce was overly salty, and barely coated the noodles. The noodles tasted al dente, and the egg was cooked perfectly, however I only tasted salt from the sauce.

Had dinner here our first night in Vancouver. They were super busy and we didn't have a reservation (it was only 5:00 and already they were on a wait) but they got us in pretty quickly. We ordered the gnocchi and steak frite. The gnocchi surprised me- it was very differently shaped in large coin-size rounds rather than pillows. It was very good! The steak was perfectly done with a tasty chimichurri sauce. Tables are pretty close to each other so not the best place for intimate conversation but overall it has a nice vibe.

Went here after work for happy hour/late lunch. We were warmly greeted by hostess as soon as we walked in. The great service continued with our amazing waitress. The were so accommodating to us by making a cocktail not in season and off menu. All the food we had was great but I recommend getting the tuna crudo and happy hour burger the most. The burger was well priced and tasted good.

Had a terrific and flavorful client dinner here. I got the brisket with cabbage coleslaw and it was so flavorful and soft to chew. I highly recommend. Easy five in flavors and quality of what the kitchen prepared. We got many appetizers. The tuna was very flavorful as well as the Brussel sprouts. Most dishes had terrific sauces that added all the savory/sweet flavor. The chicken wings I'd skip. Nothing special and they are more like fried chicken than chicken wings. Desserts were great like the chocolate puddin'. The butter tart was just ok, but a little small for the price. I recommend the puddin'. Excellent professional service. We sat upstairs with a fun rooster-filled wall. Check it out before you go.

our third stop of the evening was homer street cafe and bar on a friday night around 6:30 pm. the place was buzzing and really loud, full of energy. homer street cafe is part of the same restaurant group as tableau and maxine's. i had always thought of it as the small spot on the corner of homer and smithe, but i was surprised by how spacious it actually is. the restaurant has high ceilings, large windows, and white walls with elegant molding that create an open, airy feel. industrial-style pendant lights give off a warm glow, and wooden accents add some coziness. it blends modern and classic design elements, feeling like something you'd find in soho or greenwich village. outside, they've got a charming patio with red umbrellas, picnic tables, and plenty of greenery. it feels like a european courtyard, both lively and relaxed. i ordered the watermelon spritz for $16, made with campari, fresh watermelon juice, sparkling wine, and soda. honestly, the drink wasn't very sweet at all--it leaned more on the bitter side. we weren't too hungry but decided to share the hscb burger for $22. the burger was cooked medium rare, topped with melted cheddar, bacon, special sauce, shredded lettuce, pickles, and came with crispy golden fries. while it was decent, i've had better burgers elsewhere. it was still a nice spot to kick off the weekend, and i'd love to come back for brunch next time.

Stopped by Homer St for happy hour. We were seated outside, as the weather was beautiful. We asked the person who seated us for recommendations and they gave us great, detailed recommendations. It was also Negroni night when we stopped by! We got oysters and garlic squid and both were fantastic. Would definitely go back!

Absolutely delicious!…read more Decided to give this place a try because of the variety they offered. Our party of 3 came on a weeknight and were seated immediately. Service was great even when they kept apologizing for being so busy. We each had a toro nigiri for $4 CAD a piece. Yum! The stars were the omurice, unagi stone bowl, and karaage. They were each perfect, we could not stop eating! We also had: tuna maki, salmon lover rolls, assorted sashimi, and gyoza. They were all good. Great place to eat with friends!

The raw fish options seem to be limited to salmon and tuna. which is fine, despite this, all the rolls we got were pretty delicious and well thought out. Super close to the hockey arena, so lots of folks seem to stop by before the game. All in all, it was pretty good. I will probably seek out a more traditional spot next time with more raw fish options though.

I made reservations about 4 months in advance. Upon arrival, one of the hostesses opened the door for us, and asked us to wait in a very ornate waiting area. We only waited a couple of minutes before another hostess seated us at the main seating area. The space is very dark, and only lit with candles while the rest of the diners trickled in. During that time they take drink orders, which is limited to sake, wine, beer and a few non-alcoholic drinks. Of note, they don't provide a drink menu, so we were a little surprised by the cost - the yuzu sake and the plum wine were $30 each. My non-alcoholic drink was $12, but a fair size. The theatrical portion started a few minutes later than the official start time - closer to 6pm. The shades lifted, the lights turned on, and the chefs introduced themselves. And from that moment on, they immediately went to work preparing our meal. They operate like clockwork to show the ingredients whole to the diners, and then preparing them, and serving them. Soon as the one dish was completed by all the diners, the next round came shortly after. Over 20+ dishes, there was very little wait time in between each. Each time a dish was served, a hostess was there to describe the dish and provided tips on how best to eat it. The food was overall was very good. I thought a few items were very average, most of them were very good, and a select few were truly outstanding. Most of the ingredients are imported from Japan, so I would imagine that it's part of the reason it's so expensive. This is definitely a splurge meal. I think half the diners at our sitting was celebrating a birthday. On the most part, the food is very good, watching the chefs at work is part of the entertainment, and the service is excellent. It's not some place I could afford to go to often, but glad to do it at least this one time.

Okeya Kyujiro is a Michelin one-star theatrical omakase restaurant, and when they say theatrical, they mean it! From the moment you're welcomed by smiling ushers in kimono to the closing tea ceremony, every movement feels intentional, precise, and elevated. The ambiance is serene and anticipatory. At the start, guests sit in silence as a black screen conceals the chefs. You see their shadows moving behind it. A bell rings, the screen lifts, and the performance begins. Dinner is a 25+ course experience priced at $325 per person. It's undeniably a splurge, but for a milestone celebration, it feels justified. The menu is seafood-forward, with many ingredients flown in from Japan. Each ingredient is presented before preparation, then carefully assembled and served directly from chef to guest. Courses arrive one by one, never rushed. The service team moves seamlessly in the background, refilling water and attending to drinks (available as an add-on) without disrupting the flow. The finale is a matcha ceremony, whisked in front of you with the same quiet precision that defines the evening. When the final sip is taken, the bell chimes once more, the chefs and staff bow, and the screens close. It was a beautifully choreographed dining experience, perfect for marking a special moment, and one I'd gladly return to for the next celebration.

The moment I bit into it, it was bursting with juice! The meat was incredibly thick but not dry at all, and the outer skin was crispy like snowflakes. The first bite was amazing; I've never had such a delicious pork cutlet in Shanghai. Curry Pork Cutlet Rosu Curry $29.5 My friend ordered the curry pork cutlet today, and it was surprisingly excellent! The curry flavor was incredibly rich and full-bodied. Wrapped in the crispy pork cutlet and eaten with rice, it was pure carb bliss! Freshly Ground Sesame Powder I have to praise their freshly ground sesame powder; the aroma of the sesame seeds you grinded yourself was a real highlight. * With lemon salt: Refreshing and original, a perfect way to cut through the richness! * With barbecue sauce: Mixed with sesame powder, the flavors develop layer by layer. Maybe I'm spoiled from years of uni nigiri from Sushi Bar Kilala (iykyk), but I was disappointed that the uni at Takenaka was small and often a background note rather than the star. Uni Colada cocktail: white rum, fino, montenegro, coconut, uni mango foam, chili - refreshing, tropical drink with a smooth foam top. It's a pricey cocktail because there's uni, but you don't taste much of it. The mango and chili are stronger. It's a nice drink, but not $17 nice. Uni and Beef Yuk-hoe: seared beef, green onion, quail egg, garlic chips, stem wasabi, uni, seaweed - delicious! However, I felt like the uni may as well not have been there. I had a piece on its own and it had a lovely buttery, melt-in-your-mouth texture. However, it was quite mellow (uni usually pops with briny, umami notes). Then I had the other piece with everything else and it got overshadowed by the beef. Uni California DIY hand roll: crab meat, uni sauce, roll-it-yourself seaweed wrap - it's smart to make this a DIY experience because the seaweed remains crisp. The mini soy sauce syringes on the side are cute too. I don't like using a lot of soy with my sushi, so it was great to control the amount. There didn't appear to be any uni sauce inside the hand roll...maybe it was used to marinate components? Even then, the flavours that come through are the sweetness of the crab and salty pop of fish roe (tobiko, I think). Truffle Egg DIY hand roll: truffle flavoured egg omelette, roll-it-yourself seaweed wrap - it's like all the luxury ingredients they highlight on their menu are less prevalent. The egg omelette was tasty, but I would never guess there was truffle incorporated. I want to reiterate that all the food was good and I enjoyed it! I just don't feel like I can rate higher when the uni didn't shine.
