He walked me through two surgical options: being admitted to the hospital or having the procedure done right in his well equipped office under local anesthesia. I chose the office procedure, and I'm so glad I did! During our consultation, I asked if I could film some of the surgery. Dr. Fishman immediately gave me the OK, making sure I was comfortable watching it. The procedure itself went incredibly well. I was so impressed that he has an X-ray machine right in the room to precisely locate where the incision and bone cutting need to happen. The entire operating room and all of the equipment were absolutely pristine and sterile. It has been about 6 weeks since the procedure, and my toes are completely straight again. I still have many weeks for the bones to completely heal, but the pain is entirely gone, and I have an incredible video to remember the experience by!
