I'm in need of an aquatic AFO for aquatic pool therapy. I made many calls to Orthotics in the Los Angles County area (and Florida), but Alex of Kolman Prosthetics & Orthotics was the only call that I made offered more than a "No" response. Even though we determined that he could not provide the device that I am seeking, he educated me about my current AFO; the alternatives for what I'm seeking and removed my frustration that I had. Unfortunately, he is not accessible to me through my HMO, but based on our interaction regarding what I'm seeking, I would recommend Kolman. (My personal experience) in 1996 with Alex was back when I was a troubled kid looking to change my ways after first getting arrested. I was walking on the street passing by the parking lot of kolmans, for some reason I decided to stop in the office asking Alex if I can sweep his parking lot for a couple $$$, he made me go home and get a signed permission letter from my mother and said if she is ok with it I can sweep his parking lot every friday and that I have to be there every Friday. Little did I realize the impact this helpful hand would make me the hard working man I am today at 37 years old. I never forgot this and had to reach out to him and leave this review. I am now a computer software programmer for two Aerospace companies in brea, California. Words can't express my gratitude. Current 2023-(My father in-law) went to Alex in need of a prosthetic leg recently, he has mentioned to me the great service he has received from the knowledge and care he was provided and how satisfied he is. I am now referring another friend to Alex who just recently went through the same situation as a diabetic my father in-law went through. Alex did a great job making my orthotics. This the third pair I've had, and the first ones I've had made by Alex, and Alex's are the best. They support the main arch, relieving calf pain; as well as the metatarsal arch, relieving toe pressure. read more

I found Alex from Yelp and decided to give him a try. I had foot surgery in 2005 and the post instructions were custom orthotics along with quality shoes to prevent complications .As nurse, I'm on my feet more than 12hours a day and the being of my feet is essential along with many other assets. My old orthotics were worn out.I've worn the same orthotic measurements for than 5 years. I called and made an appointment with Alex. He was able to measure my feet during my initial visit( consultation) and explained the cause of my back and foot pain. Like many foot surgery patients, my feet are sensitive and I felt comfortable with him examining my feet. The customer service is remarkable. My custom orthotics were ready in a few days. He was able to fit me in his schedule for post fitting and tailored the orthotics with plenty of support. The orthotics were made better than my old ones. Alex made the Orthotics specific for me weird feet. For example, one of foot has a lower arch than the other. I wish I would of came to him earlier. My aches are about 80% better and my feet feel soo much better. I'm sure my boyfriend is happy that he doesn't have to massage my ugly feet after work anymore. Alex was so helpful with my situation. He called the insurance and very clearly clarified the cost. He was also very responsive to what I needed for my shoe inserts and made adjustments accordingly. My wife had gone through numerous pairs of orthotics over the years. None were made with such care and level of detail as the ones we purchased here. We had a prescription from Kaiser and then paid through our FLEX account. They were made in a few days after the initial fitting appointment. Very happy and you shouldn't go anywhere else. Regardless that we live in Whittier I would have traveled from out of state just to get here. My wife has had problems with bone spurs for years and now after about 6 months, the shoot pains are practically gone. Knowing my wife if now almost pain free is priceless to me. read more

I searched on Yelp and found Kolman Prosthetic and Orthotics. I read their reviews and decided to call. From the beginning to the end, the customer service was great. I would recommend anyone that is in need of a prosthetic to come here. Alex is an awesome guy and he will treat you with care, patience, and respect. He is very knowledgeable about what he does and strives to give you a product that you will be happy with. I was born with a few ribs missing. I couldn't wear certain clothing because it was noticeable and it made me self conscious. I've always thought about getting a prosthetic to fill the void and give my body symmetry. I came in to see Alex with a simple sketch that I drew up. He took a look at it and easily understood what I needed. He drew the sketch again with a few modifications, which became clear to me what I was getting. He made the molding on a Thursday and I came back the following week for fitting. The week after that it was ready for me. The best part about this whole experience has been Alex attitude. He always has a smile and makes you feel welcomed. He will sit with you and answer any and all your questions. To be honest I felt like I was taking up his time. I never felt rushed or like he was in a hurry. He is very easy to talk to. He stands by his work and any issues I have with my prosthetic I can always come back and he will take care of me. That's comforting. I am happy with my prosthetic. The best in the business I found this Kolman Prosthetics & Orthotics and Mr. Alex on Yelp and decided to visit his office based on the ratings on Yelp. This is serious matter and I wanted to make sure all the ratings are genuine. I needed prosthetic toes on both of my feet that I lost due to frostbites in cold winter back in 1983. Mr. Alex was very professional from the first time I met him in his office in Whittier. He explained to me how it's going to be done and the steps I need to take to have it covered by my insurance. I thought I needed to pay out of my own pocket, but he helped me getting the paperwork done from day 1 so the cost could be covered. He prepared the paperwork for my doctor to sign and once I handed the paper to him after I'd obtained my doctor's signature he took care of the rest. His work on my prosthetic toes was very meticulous, precise, and considerate making sure they fit my toes comfortably without any issue. He gladly made the changes I asked for on the spot. When it was all done, I was just another happy customer from his professional work and craftsmanship. I've been using my old, worn prosthetic toes for more than a decade since I didn't want to spend any money on it as long as I could use them even with its terrible condition.
