I felt very comfortable with him and therefore trust was established. We discussed the 1 star review his business received on Yelp. He explained that his dad had passed away that day and was unable to respond right away. He was so gracious when explaining. Protech Garage Doors Hello Yelp Viewers, I called Protech Garage Doors on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. I was impressed that the owner (Mike) answered the phone immediately. Mike was very pleasant and knowledgeable. My garage door was fully operational. However, as an elderly woman I don't like unnecessary noise. So, I explained the situation to Mike. He assured me that as a family-owned operation they were in the business to service their clients to achieve full satisfaction. My appointment was scheduled for Thursday, September 5, 2024 between the hours of 10 am - 12:00 noon. The brother of the owner (Mark) arrived on time with his friendly helper (Leo). They were professional and very honest. They listened to the noise I had described. Mark explained that I could get the noise fixed but it would reappear probably within 3-6 months. Mark suggested that I replace the unit for years of quiet service. My original garage door and mechanism was 25 years old. Mark explained to me that my garage door is in great condition but the two springs would probably need to be replaced in about two years. He suggested that I wait until then to replaced. I now have a new garage door opener, mounted wall door opener and two remote controls. Mark was kind enough to download a program (My Q) whereby I can access (open and close) my garage door from any location. I LOVE my NEW quiet garage door opener. The price was very reasonable especially knowing that I will get another 25 years or more of worry-free use. The team of Mark and Leo were very friendly, courteous and clean. But, the main reason for my full satisfaction is that they did not try take advantage of me by trying to sell me or replace any components I did not need. Trust me - if you need to have your garage door replaced or serviced do not call those major companies - they are in the business to make money by selling. The spring on my garage door broke this morning. Protech answered my call immediately and scheduled a technician to come to my house the same day. Amazing!! I worked with Moe who was extremely nice, professional, and responsive. I had a broken panel on my door along with needing new torsion springs for both doors. Everything mentioned was repaired in a timely manner and Moe performed general maintenance tightening the garage door opener chains, greasing the doors and getting both running like new. I had problems finding expert help with my Garage door. One guy came out and replaced hinges and after he did my garage door made horrible cracking sounds . They said I need a new garage door that's all they can do.Well didn't make that sound before the fix. Talked to Mike from Protech Garage doors LLC (714) 515-0313 and he sent out Mark in just a few days and he added some hinges realigned and balanced the door. No noise!! He said in a couple years will need to replace which I figured that but still working well so bide me a little time . I needed both my garage doors repaired. I called Protech and spoke to Mike. Keep in mind I had a few other estimates sitting on deck. I told Mike, "If you can beat the other estimates than the job was his." I read soooooo many positive reviews I couldn't help but call. I'm glad I did. Not only did he repair my large unbalanced door, (lubed it up) he also repaired both cables on my smaller door, even though only 1 was busted. He stated, I'd rather repair it now just in case it snaps in the future." WHAT??!! Who does that. He also checked out both my remotes to make sure they operated correctly and were programmed. When I garage door broke on Father's Day morning, my wife put out requests for quotes for all the nearby garage door folks on Yelp. Mike was the first to respond and was able to come within the hour. He quickly identified that the springs were broken and that one probably had broken a while back but our garage door opener was powerful enough that it could still handle it. He was very professional and courteous and explained everything he did. He even threw in a reinforcement beam for a part of the door that I had previous backed into by accident (just in case). I basically called at 1 pm on a Saturday and they had someone out by 5pm exactly in the time window they gave me. Moe, my tech, did an excellent job of explaining my options. Quick, efficient and professional service and install. I kind of wanted the next gen Liftmaster - the black and silver one. But he had the red and white one, and it's tried and tested, so went ahead with that one to get it done. Hard to say what the next gen versions might have problems with. He mentioned springs should be replaced soon (I know they're at least 17 years old, as was the GDO), and add a strut because of my stupidity (he didn't say that), but because I backed up slightly into the door a few years ago. And a reasonable price to do it, so will figure out when to do that next. read more
