We received a proposal for disconnecting the plumbing under our sink and then reinstalling existing…read morefaucets and installing new drain lines for $535 (included labor and parts). We changed the work to just do the reinstallation and new installation work and was told he would charge labor and material but did not give an estimate. The bill came to $497, almost as much as the original proposal which required two visits and more work - who would have thought that would be the case? - $281 (included travel time at the same rate as labor) for labor and $216 for parts. It appears from online searches that the parts are up to two times what the price is in a plumbing supply store. We have never used a plumber before as I always did my own work and this bill was sticker shock! Guess we should have insisted on a new estimate, definitely will if we need a different plumber in the future. No issues with the quality, Roy did the work and he did a great job.

Several other electrical companies charged over $100 just to come out and do an estimate before even doing any work - I found this to be ridiculous and decided to go with "James Morrow Electrician and Handyman." I can tell you right away that I made a solid decision as that Jim did a great job from the gecko! He was very responsive, professional and explained everything he is going to do over the phone so that I felt comfortable with choosing him as a professional. When he arrived, he was very respectful to the property. He did not mind me watching him install the electrical outlets in my home and explain how the whole system works. Jim did a fantastic job of eliminating one of my existing electrical outlets and moving it up. He also installed a new GFI outlet in my bathroom so that I can hook up my beloved Japan-style bidet toilet. Overall Jim is very knowledgeable and experienced in his electrical work, as well as very meticulous in little details. Kline's repaired our sewer four years ago. At the time I was happy with the service because, let's…read moreface it, the sewer now worked. In May our sewer collapsed again. This time I used Cocalico plumbing because I had used them recently. When the sewer was excavated this time, it was found that Kline's had used the old terra cotta pipes that were there instead of replacing them with PVC. The terra cotta joints were coming apart and where they connected the PVC to the old terra cotta, a corner of it had broken off. I called Klines and talked to James Frizzell, the plumbing manager and sent him several pictures of the damage. He said the work only carries a one year warranty (one year warranty on sewer pipes?) but that I should get back in touch after this work was finished and he would "work with me". After the work was finished I called and emailed him hoping to get some kind of compensation for their poor work. He's answer was they wouldn't do anything about it since the one year warranty had run out and that the Borough had signed off on the work when they did it four years ago. While this is true, knowing they did a poor job and that I was now having to have their work re-done at an expensive cost to me, I was hoping he would "work with me" and give me some type of refund. As a result I will never use Kline's again and will encourage anyone to go with a company that will stand behind their work.

The Olde Mill House Shoppes is two different buildings - the old stone house and an old barn - that have a wide selection of stuff that women love to shop like rugs, furniture, lighting, home decor, kitchen gadgets, pantry items, women's clothing and accessories. They also have a floral department that I think makes wreaths. My favorite part of the shoppes was the old stone house. Aside from admiring the lovely architecture I enjoyed looked at kitchen gadgets, kitchen decor, pantry items like bread mixes and such. I loved the creek of the floors too. It was a very charming experience. A lot of the furniture was definitely in the Shaker and colonial styles. The lighting section was amazing. Lots of early American inspired design lighting. I wasn't in the market for lighting so I moved on to other things. The rug section was fun to peruse. I saw they sold one of my favorite brands - Dash and Albert. They also had a lot of braided rugs. Regarding the clothing section in the refurbished barn, it wasn't really my style but it seemed like there were some regular customer in there having an absolute ball shopping for some new outfits. It kind of reminded me of the fun, comfy and colorful styles you might find at Chico's. Aside from the above, there was plenty more to look at like some linens, wall art, candles, etc. Overall, this was a fun place to explore and a great place to stop in while in Lancaster County.
