The atrium at the Cleveland Museum of Art
    Rory S.

This was my first time ordering food for lunch in the café at the Cleveland Museum of Art. Long ago, the set up was cafeteria style. Now, it's grand. The people next to us ordered flatbread pizzas that were made to order right in front of us in a pizza oven. Wow! My friend and I ordered salmon sandwiches, again made from scratch. Topped with tomato and tartar sauce, the dish was accompanied by our choice of a side--green salads for us. Our chef, Will, served us scrumptious results. We brought our trays to the atrium which affords sunshine and greenery. Loveliness for a lunchtime repast. Because we are museum members, we received a 10% discount.

Lovely bustling cafe located in the Cleveland Museum of Art. The line system was interesting as you had to go to a specific counter depending on the hot entree you wanted to order. We witnessed this cause some confusion at first I enjoyed the open kitchen area where you could watch your meal being prepared upon order. The amount of food options were vast, including pizza, burgers, sushi, salads, Mac & cheese, and special rice bowls made for the Murakami Exhibit. The cafe also had a specific dessert island with several delicious looking desserts to choose from. We paid around 35 dollars for two grilled chicken sandwiches, fries, and a chocolate chip cookie. The food was great. Fries were nicely seasoned and crispy. The cafe did have drink selection such as pop, wine, and beer; as well as free water. The wife open seating area in the museum atrium created a fun & busy vibe. We were very happy with our choice to see what the museum had in terms of food. Better quality than expected for a museum cafe.

What an elegant way to spend part of my birthday! This is a top shelf locale that pays attention to the fine details. Our group of four were pleased with everything from drinks to meals to view. Special bonuses you won't get elsewhere: -Art-themed cocktails inspired by works of art (Strawberry Thief, designed by William Morris, c 1936) -postcard that you can sit and write and the museum will post to anywhere in the world! This is a place where you won't be rushed through your meal. You will feel welcome to sit, chat, relax, enjoy. It is worth every penny.

I've been to both the restaurant and cafe and both were nice. The cafe has some grab-and-go things like sushi, sandwiches, juices, etc. They also have hot foods (like the lamb kafta I got and soups. They have a sushi station and a bakery section as well. The restaurant is definitely more upscale than the restaurant. The staff was very friendly here. I came for brunch a few times with friends. The food was delicious! The portions are a bit small but it's not super pricey so my friends and I split a few plates to share. We got the herb and ricotta frittata, crab cakes, and like a smores/chocolate waffle. We also shared a cocktail which was light and refreshing. All were super good! It's also just nice that it's inside the art museum so you have something to do before or after you eat!

Ummm, not sure what to say about this lil spot. The food is tasty and very elegantly served but certainly not worth the price... three crepes served with a berry compote and fresh whipped cream $15???? C'mon... smh Ham Benedict on a savory biscuit (not even flaky) $15?...chef.... very disappointing ... perhaps add a slice of melon or fresh fruit to make it worthwhile... For these prices, you should offer a side or glass of mimosa or... something...

Some places are so good, you think about not recognizing them publicly lest they get over crowded. So don't come on New Year's Eve, as that is out time slot annually! I think a trip to the Art Museum should always end with an artistic meal such as they serve here. With cocktails. The French 75 and Curry Chicken brought in 2020 a little early for me! Make reservations!

Spent a quiet Sunday brunch with 5 family members and everything was perfect. We had a table with a great view, excellent service, and very good food. The brunch menu is a bit limited but we all liked what we ate including trout on greens topped with a fried egg... and smoked salmon on a corn pancake. They offer a really interesting selection of mixed drinks... but we didn't try them.

Love this small upscale restaurant located in the CLEVELAND Museum of Art. It really is a hidden gem of sorts. Hours are a bit irregular so check to see hours before going. The staff are top notch and friendly. The drinks are unusual and worth trying--they change regularly. The food is some of the best you will enjoy in CLEVELAND. The menu changes according to exhibit and availability of fresh in season produce. It is not a big menu, but anything you try will be excellent. The Brussels sprouts appetizer is top notch as well as the curried chicken salad. I don't think you would be disappointed in anything you order. It is a bit pricey for what one would expect to pay in a museum food spot, but this is not your ordinary museum restaurant, it is extraordinary.

Calabrian Fried Chicken & Cornmeal Waffle

A simple, yet elegant menu full of flavor. Great for an intimate dining experience, all while right in the Art Museum. I've been to the CMA plenty of times before and had never seen this restaurant! It is tucked right to the left of the Cafe area, if you walk to the corner. We came to meet friends for their Saturday brunch menu. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the choices on here. There aren't a lot of options, for good reason. Each plate is carefully crafted, each ingredient thoughtfully selected so that you are left feeling satisfied. I got the Crab Cake Sandwich, which a friend of mine had suggested. The fennel apple slaw added a nice crunch and refreshing contrast to the heavier crab cake and pork belly slice. It came with delicious smashed potatoes, which were still crunchy on the outside but creamy on the inside. I couldn't resist and also got a side of the sage sausage, which went nicely with the meal. I was delightfully stuffed from everything (without feeling weighed down); I probably would not eat the top bun if I got it again. My friend ordered the amazing Calabrian Fried Chicken which came on top of a cornmeal waffle. This was honestly the FIRST thing that I saw on the menu and would have gotten it if my friend had not suggested the crab cake. The fried chicken was not greasy, as you usually get with a "chicken and waffles" plate, and the housemade relish also paired well with the rest of the ingredients. I didn't think it was very spicy, so I would have liked it a little spicier BUT I have a high spice tolerance and we didn't want to ask for hot sauce to change the flavor of the overall dish. I'm getting this the next time I come for the the brunch menu. The Provenance restaurant is geared towards more of a smaller, intimate kind of dining experience, in my opinion. The staff here was wonderful and very attentive. I was hesitant about the prices for everything on the menu, but I would come back for a special occasion or just to treat myself once in a while. It may also be a bit pricier because of its location within the CMA. But hey, the CMA is free admission, so I'd love to show my support by paying a little more at their in-house restaurant.

Eight years worth of Fairmount moments later, this review is well overdue. AMBIANCE: The ambiance allows you to slow down and enjoy your company. The restaurant is dim lit, has fireplaces, and loungey atmosphere. It somehow feels warm and I heard a lot of people refer to it as a second home (people are always so friendly here!). There is ample space - three bars, main dining space, and huge outdoor oasis bar. Nestled in Cedar Fairmount neighborhood, you'll also be able to enjoy historic neighborhood. There are seating arrangements if you're craving company or want to enjoy your date. Seating options include couches by the fireplace, tables, and high tops. Fairmount is delightful during every season. During the summer you can enjoy the bar and patio. In the winter you can dine at the igloos. I prefer all seasons here. FOOD/DRINKS: The menu at Fairmount is impressive and has exciting seasonal/weekly additions. You'll never get bored. The cocktails here are refined, very boozy, and very well crafted. The food is seriously delicious, and consistent every single time. I've been impressed with every dish. The dishes and drinks frequently follow the seasons. During my latest visit I enjoyed Butter Pecan Warm Cider with bourbon ($12, so bold and boozy, tastes like fall). I also ordered Fig Trouble Little China ($15, a more rich version of Old Fashioned, so delicious). I also tasted Short Rib & Risotto for the very first time ($28, such a delicious dish, every bite was just amazing). My favorites? Ah, so hard! I'll go with the Fairmount Burger! It's angus beef burger with bacon-fig chutney. It's so delicious! I can't even be serious about meat at the other burger places, this is easily the best burger in the city. My seasonal favorite? Kevin McCallister seasonal drink that resembles coquito or eggnog. The drink is topped with rice paper that includes the design of Kevin from Home Alone. It's such a fun tradition! I look forward to this drink all year and always tell the world about it! SERVICE: The service is excellent. I haven't been anywhere where service is right on point every single time. Everyone is nice - the owner, hosts, and waitstaff. You truly feel seen and like the most important guest. I've visited previously while on dates and frequently dine here solo, always had the most pleasant service. EVENTS: Many people book events here for their non-profits or companies. As far as individual events, Fairmount hosts a fun NYE party every year! PARKING: Onsite parking lot is available at the back of the building. You can enter through the front doors on Cedar or right through the parking lot door. There are numerous reasons why I love the Fairmount. I consider it to be the best dining experience in the Cedar Fairmount neighborhood of Cleveland Heights. I also love how the owner Jake is very engaged in the community and is incredibly friendly with the surrounding business owners. I'll choose this place again and again for calming ambiance, crafted cocktails, and delicious food. To many more years of Fairmount and at Fairmount!
