I referred my dad to this dental office because I personally had a good experience here. I truly regret that decision. My dad went in for extractions and dentures. The surgery itself and the surgeon did a great job, but everything else was absolutely horrible. First, they forgot to fit him for his healing dentures and had to rush it at the last minute. Second, they constantly gave him the runaround when scheduling his surgery because nobody seemed to know what was going on, which is literally their job. The process should have been simple and stress-free for the patient, and it was the complete opposite. The worst part was the healing dentures themselves. They were horribly made and did not align at all. When he smiled, the top dentures shifted to the side and the front teeth did not line up with the bottom teeth. It caused him jaw pain and discomfort. When he went back to explain his concerns, he was told that they were "only temporary" and that he would have to pay extra to get them fixed, even though it was clearly their mistake. We later took him to another dentist, who told us how bad the dentures were and recommended that we report this to the dental board. That is something we are seriously considering so this does not happen to someone else. Starting the denture process is already difficult and emotional enough. This office made that experience ten times worse. I would not recommend this place to anyone, especially for something as serious as dentures. read more

We only went to this office because of Dr Jim (FYI: he has his own office by South Forth Apache!) My father initially chose this dental office due to its convenient location. He was assigned to Dr. Hernandez's team and agreed to a payment plan of $150+ per month for one year, with his dental insurance also applied toward a new set of dentures. Throughout the process, he had several visits before and after the denture fitting. Unfortunately, after receiving the dentures, he experienced significant mouth sores due to an improper fit. When he returned to the office to address the issue, he was informed that he would need to pay an additional fee for adjustments or polishing to make them fit properly. This experience was very upsetting for him, and he ultimately decided not to return. To make matters worse, we later found out that his dental insurance only covers dentures once every five years, which added to our frustration. I visited this office for an emergency visit. Everything was going great until Natalie Cany, the dentist, commented on my skin color, my race. At first it didn't bother me so much but the events that occurred afterward were unethical and unprofessional. When I was leaving the office, no one was there to check me out, give instructions for at home care, or to say thank you for coming to our office or anything. I had to wait around to make sure that I could leave. It was determined that I had severe infection, which was causing the pain. The pain was being managed by otc medication at the time. The dentist wanted to pull two teeth. I asked if she could prescribe antibiotics first and she reluctantly agreed, saying that the infection is so severe that antibiotics wouldn't do anything. I still preferred to take antibiotics. I left the office thinking that I was going to be able to go to the pharmacy to up my medication. When I called the pharmacy, I was told by the automated system that I didn't have a prescription in their pharmacy so I opted to speak with a live representative. I was told again that they have not received an order from the doctor. For about 45 minutes, I was calling the pharmacy but they hadn't received the prescription. I finally called the dentist office and it was confirmed that my prescription had been sent. Called the pharmacy again and the same thing, they said that they had received my prescription. So I called back to the dentist and was assured that my prescription was sent at 4:55 PM. After about an hour an a half of trying to track down my medication, I decided to go home and try again the next day. Over night, the pain became so severe that I couldn't sleep. In the morning, I called the dentist office to request a stronger antibiotic, a pain medication, a medication that prevents nausea and vomiting because pain medication makes me sick but when I'm in severe pain, I have no other choice but to take it. I also requested a different pharmacy. I was told that Natalie Cany would call me to discuss my request. At 2:09 P.M., the day after seeing the dentist, I got a text message from the pharmacy stating that they received my prescription for the amoxicillin and that it is being processed. This is the medication that the dentist office claimed that they sent the day before. I called the dentist office to let them know that the dentist hadn't called me to discuss the stronger antibiotic, pain medication and nausea/vomiting medication. The receptionist said very rudely, "SHE'S NOT GIVING YOU A STRONGER ANTIBIOTIC OR ANY PAIN MEDICATION!!! SHE SAID SHE NEEDS TO PULL YOUR TEETH AND THE PAIN WILL GO AWAY!" I said, "I never should have told her my race!" The receptionist said, "She didn't mean anything by it". I asked her how did she know what she meant. She said that it was my shirt that made her wonder about my race. I told the receptionist that she wasn't even in the room when I was asked about my race, that means you guys were discussing my race after I left the office. I let her know that I was calling my attorney for discrimination. By the way, I was wearing a green print blouse with pink flowers. Now that I think about it, they were probably too busy discussing my race when I was trying to check out and no one was at the front. I had to call out for someone to check me out. Long story shortened. I called my medical doctor for help but he was out of the office so a nurse practitioner called me. She isn't allowed to prescribe pain medication over the phone. I ended up going to the ER for the stronger antibiotic, the pain medication, and the nausea/vomiting medication. That was Friday evening, the day after my dental appointment. By Sunday, I had to go to urgent care because my face swelled up. The doctor had to increase the dosage of antibiotic and extended the length of days to take it. I no longer needed pain medication so I stopped taking it. On Thursday, a week after my emergency dental appointment, I saw my dentist. I was still on antibiotics and the swelling was subsiding but was still present. She's referring me to the Endodontist to see if the root canal can be repaired instead of taking out my tooth as the dentist Natalie Cany, at Rocksprings Dental Group wanted to do, even though I had severe infection. She wanted to pull two teeth but my dentist and her colleague didn't see another tooth that needed dental treatment at all. I can't believe that Natalie Cany was trying to pull my teeth while I had a severe infection and targeting a tooth that didn't need any treatment. read more

I can't say enough great things about this place. The hygienist and dental assistants are so wonderful. I love this office and refer all my friends and family here. The team members have always gone above and beyond to make me feel welcome and comfortable during treatment. The front desk receptionist even gave me my own "squishy" to play with. I've been going here myself for my checkups and cleanings for well over 10 years. The office recently was remodeled and is clean and modern. They also have all the latest technology including digital cone beam scanner (CBCT) and state of the art surgery rooms. They have all the specialists rotate through the office so patients don't need to go anywhere else for specialty referrals. They do it all and usually have appointments same day available. read more

Very disappointed with my, overall, experience here. I am not one to typically leave a low-starred review unless I really feel I experienced a disservice. I had been going to this place for over a year and always felt I was being scammed or upcharged as others who I spoke to at other offices were paying way less (even out of pocket) for similar procedures. Eventually, when I wasn't able to pay for an outrageously priced deep cleaning, they refused to see me for my regular visits until I would comply with what they wanted me to do (pay $1675 for a deep cleaning). Even though other dentist offices stated they would still see me. Eventually, I told them I would not be able to pay and would look elsewhere, in which they said "Okay actually we can do about $900." To me, if you really could have offered me this price the whole time, feels very scammy. After going to another dentist office, we found out from looking at previous records that they were only allowing the actual dentist to do my work instead of other dental hygienists and used 7 different types of numbing cream for my last cleaning which was unnecessary and upcharged to me. It's frustrating because not knowing much about the dental world, I don't know what is supposed to be "normal" or not. I felt very taken advantage of when finding out a lot of this information out and was also being charged 3x the amount that other comparable dental offices were charging. Additionally, they told me twice on a few other occasions they would call my insurance and would call me back when checking on costs and never called me back. When checking with them again, the response was "I don't see any notes here so I'll call again and get back to you." And then just continued to never follow through. I would recommend that this place be more up front with their patients about their options and costs and also further work towards improving internal communication among each other. Yesterday around noon, I broke my tooth. I was in a panic as I haven't been to the dentist as often as I should. I called Rock Springs Dental and they were able to get me in at 2:00pm the same day. I just had a major abdominal surgery a week ago and they were aware of it. Dr. Justina Hernandez was the dentist and she was amazing. She was so kind and kept making sure that I was feeling okay and comfortable throughout the entire time she was prepping my tooth for a crown. I spent just short of $15,000.00 and my mouth is messed up way worst than when I went. I now have food sticking in my front teeth (4 spots) along with my bottom teeth are shifting crocked. They removed one of my porcelain crown from the back lower left side of my mouth and had me wait 3 month to replace with a metal one that is causing the shifting of my lower front teeth. She creates horribly made composite crowns in her office. I went back shortly after and let them know I was experiencing pain and that it did not fit. DR. I called to let them know that years later, this horribly made composite CRACKED, and they stated that in order to have a warranty on the tooth, I would have had to come in EVERY SIX MONTHS. Studies have been done about how OUR PAIN is overlooked in the medical industry and how we aren't believed, ignored, and bullied out of seeking help. MARITA has the most disgusting personality. I recorded our conversation she took ownership of the decision to have my crown replaced. she stated that HER AND DR. TOOP would have the final say on if my crown would be replaced as if she were a partnering franchise owner. She answered the phone with such a disgusting attitude. Terrible! This was my first time at this dentist office. I have Aetna dental insurance through my employer. I took a half day off from work to have a routine cleaning and exam, and made the appointment several weeks out. Upon entering I signed in. About 10 minutes later a nice lady at the front desk showed me how to finish creating a online profile with their Apple tablet. After taking a few X-rays, I moved to another room where I waited for the dentist for my cleaning and exam. The dentist I saw was Jammie Toop. She seemed polite but very rushed, she indicated that I need lots of work, and she will have the billing guy Nick come in and explain everything that is needed and what my insurance will cover, and what I will owe. I only saw Dentist Toop for about 52 seconds. 20 minutes later Nick the billing guy came in and proceeded tell me what is needed and how much my cost will be (nearly $5,000 out of pocket). I told him that I would need to look into that, and for today- that all I was looking to have done was the regular cleaning and X-rays that are covered by my insurance per what had been scheduled weeks ago. He told me that getting a regular cleaning is no longer an option- that I will need the over $1,000 service in order to begin, and that I was denied a regular cleaning- I asked him is my insurance now denying a regular cleaning- he indicated yes, because I have to get all this work done and will need a full deep cleaning now. I told him that I just wanted just the regular basic cleaning for now, and that I would need to save up for all this major work I apparently now needed (note: no tooth pain, no bleeding gums, no visible issues I am having, but apparently I need tens of thousands of dollars in work). As I got my cell phone to call my insurance to find out why the cleaning is not covered, the billing guy thought I was recording him, and proceeded to ask me if I was recording in a upset manner- I said no, and put the phone in my purse. I asked if I could speak to the dentist and find out why I am no longer allowed to have a cleaning if it is not an insurance issue. He said no, that the cleaning was no longer an option. I asked if I could've a copy of my X-rays to take to another dentist, as it was made crystal clear that they were refusing to do a regular cleaning. He printed out a paper that showed tiny thumbnails of some of the X-rays. I asked if I could either get a better copy or can they send my information to another dentist when I get one. He said he would send me the digital copies to my email. I asked if I owed anything for this visit, and he that that my insurance covered it in full and that I owe nothing, and with that I left. I came home and called Aetna insurance corporate office to tell them of my ordeal at the dentist. They took this matter very seriously, and said that I certainly should have been covered for a routine cleaning- regardless of any future work they said I needed. I was also told that there have been several complaints with this dental office of their upsell practices. In closing, I write this review to warn others. Some of the staff seemed polite. I have no actual review for dentist at this office, other than it appears that they might only want to work on high ticket services- so make sure you bring lots of money, or have an empty credit card that you want to max out right away. Look, I hate the dentist too. I'm super picky about where I go. I judge everything. This place is great. The receptionists are professional and pleasant (no bashing or mocking of patients). The tech is top notch (it's part of the Smile Corp, so you can feel safe there knowing they have the latest and greatest, like an in house crown making machine). They process my insurance claims correctly. The dental techs are gentle, and so are the dentists. I get reminders for my appointments. They follow pandemic protocols to the letter. They tolerate my dental anxiety (I listen to my headphones during procedures). I feel comfortable here, which is the biggest compliment I can give. read more

Tl;dr Rude associates who belittle you when you call in and report you're in pain after a procedure they performed. I've been coming here for a few years now and after a phone conversation with 2 separate people I will not be returning. Went in on Friday for a check-up and sensitivity to cold, basically got told the same thing you're reading from other 1-star reviewers- I have gum disease and need to pay $500 out of pocket to do irrigation and laser treatments on top of the crowns needed to fix my sensitivity. Told doc I was leaving town for a couple of weeks so asked if I could postpone any "deep cleaning" or procedures and she insisted I take care of it now. I was there for 5 hours after it was all said and done and ended up paying $1200 out of pocket after they "applied discounts". 1 WEEK LATER AND I'M EXPERIENCING MORE PAIN THAN WHAT I WALKED IN WITH. I called the office to see if there was anything they could do for the inconvenience and NOT ONE APOLOGY OR SYMPATHETIC RESPONSE for what I've been dealing with as a result of their treatment. Instead I was met with condescending comments of "I don't know what you want us to do" & "when issues like this happen it might indicate you need to get a root canal" a.k.a. pay us more to come and fix it. I am a dental chicken. This was my first procedure. Dr Toop put me at ease right away and didn't make me feel silly for my phobia. She made sure I'd be comfy with the medication I needed at the level that works for me. No lecture about how I didn't need it. I had a root canal done by an excellent team and she finished my crown the same visit. It normally takes many visits to feel confident with a dental practice. I went into this office 6 months ago & decided not to post a review, because I just wanted to forget about this horrible experience. But, suddenly I'm getting notices advising me of follow-up appointments I did not make. Since the day I went I walked right out because their ethics & professionalism were lacking. I was looking for a dentist office that could fit me in, in December 2020 to get my cleaning done, since my regular dentist office was booked up until January. Came here because it was down the street. They were unprofessional. The dentist came in after an hour of me on the chair, with the hygienist nowhere to be found to tell me I needed about $5,000 of work, on my teeth. She pushed crowns I did not need & tried to say I had cavities (which until this day I have never had any). & tried to tell me I had gum disease when my pockets were 1's 2's & 3's. Then the dentist declined to do a regular cleaning & stated she would only approve a deep cleaning if I paid for it, that's why the hygienist hadn't started, she only starts after payment has been received. The billing/front desk woman came & told me it would be an additional $500 for the cleaning. After talking to her to try & gain some understanding as to why I couldn't get a normal cleaning. She told me verbatim "I had a bad oral hygiene & because of my lack of responsibility with my teeth I needed to pay more for a simple cleaning ". At that point I tried to leave, she was so insulting & unprofessional. Then she said that if I considered doing a teeth whitening for $499 she could talk the Dentist into approving the simple cleaning this one time. Nothing but shady business. I walked out. Next day, my original dentist office called & I got my regular cleaning & the dentist there advised me I had no cavities, no gum disease & did not need crowns. I cannot believe how unprofessional & deceitful Rocksprings Dental is as a dental office. & now 6 months later they send a text to advise me I have a 6 month appointment with them tomorrow. The audacity. I am not even their patient, I walked out, but yet they somehow still try to book you & make appointments that were never requested. Why? To falsely bill your insurance or charge you a no show fee for an appointment you never booked. Called today to cancel & when I asked why it was booked when I never made a request, they didn't provide an explanation & just stated it was canceled and ended the call. They are just bad business practice. & FYI the manager for Chipotle next door knows a receptionist who works there. All those 5 star reviews that all seem to be posted around the same time. Their employees got incentives to post it themselves or have family post them to drown out the bad, true and accurate reviews. So deceitful. Look at the negative reviews you'll realize they are all consistent. Don't come here! Save yourself the stress. Find a more honest & legitimate dentist office that is not so money hungry to make a quick buck, by scamming you. read more

Warning! I repeat warning! I never right reviews for places unless it is need to know but this place is full of scammers. I've been coming here for years and I came back after they reopened after the pandemic for a check up and regular cleaning. The dentist checks my teeth and tells me I have severe periodontal disease and that I needed deep cleaning which would cost me $1500. But with their "special" discount it'll only be $1000. They told me I needed it ASAP as my gums were receding so I believed them and got it. I then went to 2 other dentist that told me they were scamming me. I'm only 30 years old and clean my teeth and gums on a regular basis, and for severe gum disease to pop out of no where is unheard of. There's nothing worse than your own health care professionals lying to you and stealing your money. read more

I became a patient at Rock Springs dental when Jamie Toop took over the office. I was happy with the care I received, the personal attention, the caring staff, and the financing options that were made available. On December 12, 2020, I went in for a check-up and cleaning and was subjected to the worst treatment in 40 years of visiting professionals in dental, medical, or eye care. When Dr. Toop came into the exam room she told me that I needed to have my teeth extracted and replaced with dentures, because I have abscesses underneath every tooth as well as decay. She said extraction was my only option or I could fix my teeth and end up in the same position as now. (Contradiction) She mentioned that I did not fix a crown that fell out previously which I could not afford to do at the time (not even on a payment plan). I said I would consider both options and get back to them . I asked about my cleaning and was told that Dr. Toop did not want to waste my time with that. I wasn't given antibiotics, no cleaning, and when I stopped at the desk to pay my copay I was told, "that's fine for today". One month later I receive a dental EOB letting me know I owe $812.00 to the dentist for x-rays. I beat myself up every day for trusting this dentist. I just called this clinic because I was there before for an oral surgery, I need retainers post orthodontic treatment, this clinic has the worst customer service ever, I have the credit card with Pacific Dental Services and that's why I am trying to get retainers with them. The lady said that If I don't have Invisalign treatment with them, they can't get me retainers. This is crazy! P read more
