    Random wires hanging from closet

What can I say other than this hotel shouldn't bear the Marriott name. It's an embarrassment to the brand and front desk managers have given up. At least one manager, Laith, could care less about the experience we had. Not sure how detailed or what kind of notes he left for the other managers were, but when I went back to the front desk to share photos and the experience, I was told "Looks like Laith offered you points..." Everything was going well until the AC went out, the shower drain stopped working and we had move rooms at 11:30 at night with a young child. Isn't this what dream vacations are made of? Thankfully one manager, Christine, was able to switch us and handled the pressure of multiple failures and multiple customers simultaneously very well - so kudos to her. The poor engineering team had to basically MacGyver their way to success - getting the room back in working order wasn't a small task. And they weren't confident it wouldn't happen again in the middle of the night... so we made the move to a new room in slightly less disrepair. It was a busy weekend with multiple functions, so I know the staff was stretched a bit, but certainly not an excuse for how bad things were. Definitely not the experience we expected, nor our typical experience at Marriotts. Bottom line the only redeeming factor of this hotel is the Salon, G Salon & Spa! Please check them out - Gina and Vinny with the good hair will definitely take care of you. Otherwise, I strongly encourage you to pick another hotel to spend your hard earned money at. lol

Mess (makeup, cookie crumbs) found on carpet upon check in

Booked for business. Room 668. Checked into room and it smelled moldy. I looked under cover of AC unit and the carpet was wet and stained black. The wooden enclosure was also wet and rotted. Then I noticed some used makeup and food crumbs on the floor. The last straw was the bug that ran across the bed until I squashed it with a tissue. Just nasty.

The morning after mess. This is what happens when the bottom line is more important than guests.

I'm a Bonvoy Titanium Elite leisure traveler who plans to find alternatives to the Marriott Providence Downtown going forward. I can almost live with the lack of breakfast during the week and the housekeeping only on the fourth of five nights. Then there's the gym and the fact that it took three complaints to get wipes or water was never replenished. What I find totally unacceptable is the lackadaisical or non existent enforcement of masks for non-vaccinated people. This is clear because packs of teens and preteens are running through the hotel without a mask in sight. They are part of a Lacrosse tournament that no doubt requires protective gear - masks should be mandatory too. Since few in that age group are statistically vaccinated yet, I'm sure I've been exposed. @marriott makes a big deal about signage and cleanliness, but I'm forced to deal with a potential super spreading event. I came to Providence after staying at the #GrandHyattDC which provided the exact opposite in terms of customer service and amenities. I was treated like royalty there. The Providence Marriott Downtown seems to care only about their bottom line-- not loyal customers. I will be crossing it off my list and will seek my next 15 scheduled days in Providence somewhere else.

Had s one night stay. Parking was pricey ($30), but it was ok. Bed was clean, room was nice. Would stay again. Loved the hot tub.

The only issue I had was that I requested a late check-out and the person working the counter really gave me a hard time about it. I understand that late check-outs aren't guaranteed, but her attitude about it was really off. She kept insisting that I need to speak with her manager to approve it, but she never offered to get the manager. I just gave up and decided to speak with someone else the next day. When I came by the next day, the person working let us have the 2pm check-out and the manager did happen to walk by and said it was not an issue at all. And it turns out the girl from the night before did mark me as a 1pm check-out. Honestly, though, this was still an issue because housekeeping came at 1pm to clean the room... The room itself was a room. Clean and standard to Hampton Inn. The bathroom was good, with a nice shower stall and good water pressure but a low flow toilet. My room was in a separate part of the building with only like 6 rooms on the floor. This was nice when it came to hotel noise. However, the windows are very thin and the complaints about car drag racing all night are not incorrect. The location of this hotel was fantastic, an easy walk to many of the sights in the area. One day we decided to take the shuttle and that was fabulous. This hotel is worth staying at for the shuttle alone.

Apparently house cleaning is every other day despite charging four season rates, requiring minimum stays with 30 day cancellation policies. The website was easy to use to book the free tickets. The expo was open on Friday 6-9 pm and Saturday & Sunday 12-6 pm. I entered Hilton Providence Downtown Hotel on Saturday around 1:30pm and saw a sign that the Amazing Art Expo was on the 2nd floor. I headed upstairs and followed some more signs to the Amazing Art Expo. There was a table of prints selling for $15 each and free prints for sharing the event on Facebook or Instagram. The Amazing Art Expo had tables of Harry Potter, Studio Ghibli, Disney, Star Wars, Alice in Wonderland, and so much more prints. No photography was allowed in the room. The prints were selling 1 for $35 each, 2 for $30 each, 3 for $25 each, and 4+ for $25 each. David Sobolov, the Voice Actor for Emperor Kaido in "One Piece," Gorilla Grodd on The CW Network drama The Flash, and Sean Carlson, a freelance artist born and raised in New York, were both at the Amazing Art Expo. It was nice to walk around and see the different prints. There were a good amount of people.

I booked rooms with breakfast included…read morein the price on Priceline, they cost more, and the hotel just would not provide what I paid for. So I had a half dozen kids doing a college tour and had to go off site somewhere else for breakfast when we were on a tight schedule AND I PREPAID FOR BREAKFAST!! I had proof of this and the very snotty front desk clerk with endless attitude said he couldn't see it on his end so he couldn't do anything. Well, contact a manager I said, and he refused. They said a manager would be in 10 am the next day, an hour after we would have left the hotel. People with problems in the morning - too bad, it seems, that is their approach. This was bad enough, but then it took many hours of my time explaining it to these people. Very little to no acceptance of their fault in this, nor agreement that my printed receipt specifying breakfast should have been accepted at the time, even though they admitted this has happened before. They said Priceline shouldn't offer this option, but a year later I checked and it was still an option! This is pretty strong proof in my mind they do not deal with their business, they see problems and ignore them instead of fixing them. So they are prepared to let you pay for breakfast on Priceline, and just not provide it. The manager was nice enough, but it was way too much effort to get my money back, taking many phone calls - in my view they should have been running to give it back given their huge failure to perform. It seemed like absent hours of time to try to force them to refund the difference, their plan is to just not provide and keep it. I had 50 rooms of college tour business this summer, and I didn't bother to even quote them, as you would expect, and went to an IHG which has been great with a well reviewed breakfast by my clients. Sorry, but read these reviews regional manager to see you need new leadership here. I am not the only one thinking this hotel is a disaster.
