This is my go to Italian restaurant. The garlic rolls here have ruined me as they are just amazing. The salad is a nice chopped salad with cheese, tomatoes, garbanzo beans, mushrooms, beets (not for me!), onions, and oregano that are served with a nice bathing of oil & vinegar. You can get refills on the bread and salad if you desire. For the main course, I had the chicken franchese. The lemon butter sauce is amazing. It comes with a side of spaghetti and meat sauce, but you can opt for fettuccine alfredo (I think it goes better with the lemon butter sauce). The atmosphere is comfortable like being at an Italian grandmother's house. They play the classical music from the 50s and 60s as a nice backdrop in the ambiance. The mood is casual but it can also be a good place for a group or even for an intimate romantic dinner. Service here is always amazing. read more

we went to Provino's a few weeks ago for the first time. We thought it was fabulous! Everything about it!... We went to Provino's for a second time and this is the reason I'm writing the review. The rolls they serve IN garlic butter ARE SO Fabulous You really could eat them all day! But the chicken marsala I ordered at lunch, though very delicious, was a very small portion. That disappointed me. Then the spaghetti they served alongside in a bowl was watery and mushy. Way overcooked!!! I ate it but I did not enjoy it. If it hadn't been for the rolls, I would have left hungry. I don't think we'll be going back and that's sad. We were first sat in a booth. After my son and I both began smelling urine, I stood up and realized there was some in the crease of the booth seat (along with crumbs and food that hadn't been cleaned between patrons). Quickly called the waitress and quietly told her - she got the manager. He took us to another table while apologizing. I ordered a sausage dish that mentioned nothing about having hot pepper in it - an allergen to me. It didn't mention being "hot" at all. I immediately got sick and couldn't eat it. Called the waitress over, she then called the manager over. He began making excuses about how the first batch is this or that. He offered to make something else but at this point we had been there 2 hours waiting on food, so I declined. Zero compensation for sitting in urine, nothing. We came from over an hour away just to eat here and it did not disappoint! Very good meal today! I'll start with walking through the parking lot. The building looks to be dated and in need of some upkeep. That being said, the inside is beautiful! The decor is nicely done and it seemed to be very clean. The smell coming from the kitchen was incredibly pleasant like grandma was in there whipping up some Italian delicacies! The lunch service wasn't very crowded and we were seated immediately. Some of the old pictures were quite worn and looked to be sun bleached. I'd probably replace some of that. The faux wood blinds were warped I guess from the time spent in the sun. Our server was very friendly and inviting. We ordered drinks and were brought out quickly. We never had to ask for refills as she stayed on top of keeping us hydrated! The menu looked good and had some great choices! My wife has celiacs disease so she can't have gluten, and to our delight they even have a gluten free menu! Very happy to see that! I was a little disappointed that they didn't offer a lunch menu on Saturday, but we found a lot of things we were excited about. The prices feel high, but when you eat anywhere else they're not far off. Our server brought us some really good rolls that had real minced garlic on them. They were buttered, maybe a little too much. If you like butter, get the ones in the bottom of the bowl! They were really good. We ordered our food and it didn't take long to make its way to our table. Maybe 20 minutes or so. Before our food was brought to us we had the most amazing salad that rivals anything Olive Garden puts out! It had beautiful vegetables and a fantastic Italian dressing! My wife had the Diablo shrimp and pasta from the gluten free menu and she was very happy with her choice! I had to go with the chicken Parmesan. I know, a basic Italian dish, but I wanted to try it. I'm so glad I did! It was very well done! Not too much pasta. The sauce was done just to my taste, not watery. The chicken was cooked perfectly with a crunchy crust and tender chicken. The other 3 in my party had meat lasagna, vegetable lasagna, and the veal. No one had a complaint! Maybe that we needed a nap afterwards! I appreciate the server being very attentive, the food was well prepared and cooked, the restaurant was clean, and the hour drive was worth it. You know what? Going 5 stars for Provino's. It's obviously going to the be same quality as certain higher end restaurants around downtown, but it's not priced to be. It's like a red sauce Italian restaurant on the side of Shorter Ave. The people are awesome - super nice. And the food is always really good. The (free) garlic yeast rolls always come hot out of the oven and are really good. You get a hand tossed salad that's really good with any entrée. House wines are cheap and pretty good. And the decor is kind of nice. I think if you're picking between here and like an olive garden, I would pick this one every time. read more

I went in my Birthday . I was told on that day you will receive a free meal. I told the waitress it was my Birthday. She gave me the menu. Took my order. Brought me the check! I said, my Birthday is today. She said you have to order a certain meal. I asked why didn't you tell me? She said, I took off one item. My first time eating at Provino's. Food was very good. The marinara sauce is fresh and flavorful. I ordered the fried zucchini, meat lasagna and limoncello cake. My food was piping hot just like I like it. The rolls coated in garlic are for garlic lovers. So good! Big portions. The salad dressing is very good. The atmosphere is pleasant. I like the mix of music playing. My server Austin was fantastic! He is new but is the epitome of customer service. I will be asking for him as my server next time on a Sunday. The atmosphere is great - love the private booths - and the food is yummy. Only giving it three stars because last night we ordered the veggie lasagna and the eggplant vegetale. We got the lasagna, but the kitchen brought out an eggplant parmesan instead of the vegetale. No big deal - it looked yummy, and we're both pretty easy-going, so we decided to keep it. Was a bit turned off when the waitress came over and blamed the kitchen for the screw-up and offered to "fix" the problem either by bringing out a side dish of grilled veggies or having the kitchen prepare the correct order for us then. By the time the correct dish came out, the lasagna would have been cold. Was a bit surprised that the incorrect dish was not taken off the bill. Don't know what I haven't gotten a review posted before, since I've visited before. But better late than never, right? We visited about 2 in the afternoon for lunch - perfect time to go when it isn't busy. Waitress was super friendly and attentive, bringing multiple drink refills and a second serving of the yummy garlic rolls. I'm a huge fan. I love the rolls and the veal francese. I get it every time. It is a plate of super tender lemony goodness. I always get it served over a side of plain pasta, and the sauce on the veal coats all the noodles and is perfection. My husband is harder to please and not such a fan. He's tried a number of different dishes and finds them OK, but nothing to rave about it. This time he tried the eggplant parmesan and didn't have any complaints about it. He's not a big fan of the rolls. He'd love french bread with butter, but nowhere serves that. Since we always go for birthdays, I can say the spumoni ice cream is yummy, too. Perfect way to end a celebratory meal :) read more

I realized my actual age when I searched for restaurants outside my local workplace, and I am out of town in a small town. I searched a bit further and found Provino's! I may be a little bit older but I've grown up in restaurants etc.. I ate at the original Provinos back in the early 80s as well as Scalini's and then they went to a chain restaurant. I was not impressed. When I found the restaurant in Rome Ga I was so excited!! Would it even be close to the original? When I lived in Atlanta ? I frequented both restaurants so many times I knew the menu and I'm glad to say it's the same because it's great! I truly hate that I had to get it to go but tasted all my favorites as soon as I got back in my vehicle and they were as I remembered! Because I am "older" I recognized who I thought would be the manager/expediter/owner! I realized they were busy and didn't want to bother him with my diatribe but he was extremely friendly and we talked about the old days actually back in the early to mid-80s. As your attorney "I'm not actually an attorney "I would advise you to go there for Italian fare should you be close!!! This is the current menu as well as prices and I got out of there with entrée appetizer salad and rolls for $22, get the heck out of here!!
