This is one of the best restaurants in Mike and Mindy Cunningham's Indianapolis-based restaurant group. If it's available, take the option of sitting on the outdoor terrace. You're above the 86 Street traffic, but you get the feel of an urban environment without too much noise. The hamburger is a wonderful option as are the scallops. Seabass is very well prepared and goes nicely with the roasted seasonal vegetables or the steamed spinach. It's al a cart but reasonably priced. Save room for dessert. The flourless chocolate tort is excellent. They take reservations and they will seat you without your full party having to arrive at the same time. A welcome addition to the locally-owned Indianapolis restaurant scene. read more

Excellent Food. Definitely one of the best if not top 3 restaurants in Indy at the moment. We had the 16oz aged ribeye and the meat was flavorful. It's sufficient to feed two people. The staff were attentive; ambience was beautiful; and food was delicious. I had the scallops and hubby had the steak Pittsburg style of course and enjoyed it! Definitely a cool atmosphere and food and service experiences have been good as well. This restaurant is located on the second floor of the Ironworks hotel and has a similar industrial aesthetic but is a little more cozy. I recommend making reservations as it can get crowded for weekend dinner service. Start with the bread basket!! You have to pay for it, but it is 100% worth it- it comes with a variety of fresh- baked, deliciously warm breads. They have a good selection of steaks and I have been happy with almost everything I have ordered there (skip the beef wellington - it's an under-cooked and deconstructed aka lazy version of one of my favorites). They have an extensive wine list with beer and cocktails as well. Pricing is definitely on the higher end so save it for a more special occasion (also, in my opinion would not be the most kid friendly place). All in all, a pretty good, higher end dining experience. read more

THIS is on my fave list forever! Went last evening for dinner and it was fabulous! 4 in our party and not 1 single complaint. I'm ordered (not an entree gal) Baby oysters, King Crab Toast, Steakhouse Tartare and Lobster Risotto. Sitting here wishing I could replicate them at this very moment! Delicious! The table also had the Tuna Tartare for shares and it too was phenomenal. Tortellini was ordered and wedge salads which everyone said were the bomb! We ordered 2 desserts for the table... Lemon Coconut Cream Cake and Triple Chocolate Tart...and yeah not a bite was left. We initially had doubts about this place as their prices seemed very high but let me tell you it was worth every single penny. I also had the Elderflower Negroni which was fabulous! We will go back! If the food had not looked so delish i would have pics...couldn't wait to dig in. All thoughts of foodie pics went right out of our heads! PS...our server...she was fantastic. The bar has energy and big windows feels like a larger city lounge.The food was delicious and the service impeccable ! Pretty much in love with this place. This is not going to be a place to frequent on a random Tuesday, at least for my price range people but it is such an ideal restaurant for celebrations or special events. First of all there is plenty of parking space because of the hotel, that is one of my biggest complaints with downtown restaurants. The atmosphere is upscale casual. Going with the theme of the hotel there is a slightly industrial feel with the metal but it is clearly a place that is going to be at a higher price point. That being said, it is sooo worth it! All the food was delicious. Cocktails were pretty pricey, but once again you are on the north side. Everything was presented beautifully, portions were a good size and service was impeccable. There were very attentive. I love they offer an indoor and outdoor area but definitely make a reservation. Even on a week night this place was crowded. read more

We have eaten here several times and love it! Last year, we enjoyed our business Christmas party at Provision. The private room was lovely along with the well staffed room and fabulous food. We thought it was such a great, fun new restaurant that we bought several gift cards for Christmas presents. Everyone seemed to love the restaurant! Food was fantastic and so was the service! Highly recommend the oysters, grilled shrimp.... amazing!! and the scallops, although only 3 in a entree, they were big and surprisingly filling. Short Rib was ok as was the potato- bacon terrine, they were definitely outdone by our other dishes. The wedge salad was probably the best I've tasted and they sure know to make a decent cocktail. We had the most amazing meal at Provision tonight. Excellent cocktails - Rosemary's baby, dirty martinis and a bartender's creation. Bread basket on point, beet salad + caesar with all the anchovies, sea bass, tortellini (which exceeds any pasta dish I can ever remember having) and sugar cream pie for desert. Oh! And the loaded tater tottler side was... no words, just order it and thank me later. Service was beyond and just such a fun atmosphere. Cunningham group does it again! Thought this was very over priced for the quality of the food. We ordered steaks medium rare and they came out well done. We waited for a very long time to get our food order corrected and all they offered to comp was a $10 dessert. The manager was rather arrogant and i wasn't impressed. read more

From the Nada chef, comes a gem in Carmel. The dishes were top notch. I had one of my favorite salmon dishes ever. I could have eaten two of the salads I got. The ambiance was impressive and incredibly tasteful. I was even wowed by the bathrooms. Will be sampling more of the menu on my future business trips. This now edges out Late Harvest due to the atmosphere. I'd say the dishes are comparable in quality and that's a good thing for both. read more

I have been previously and was extremely disappointed, but I'm usually willing to give everything a second chance. My 2nd experience wasn't any better than the 1st. The ambiance is an industrial cave with an overwhelming raucous. Everyone is trying to talk louder than the next to be heard and it makes a dining experience whether date or group outing very unpleasant when you can't enjoy their company. The host staff wasn't courteous. The wait staff lacked attention. Our meals were underwhelming. My only compliment is for the outdoor deck with warmers gave some reprieve from the obnoxious indoor box. I really hoped for more from this restaurant. read more

My boyfriend and I came here on a Sunday night and had a fantastic experience. The service was friendly and prompt. The food was wonderful as were the drinks. We shared the lobster dumplings and tuna along with the soup. Each plate was full of flavors that meshed well together. For my entree I ordered the scallops and my boyfriend got the pork chop. The scallops were cooked beautifully and tasted like candy. They came with spinach, gnocchi, and squash or sweet potatoes. It was seriously amazing. The pork chop came with mashed potatoes and an apricot glaze which were delicious. Highly recommend! read more

Fantastic place to dine. Really cool outdoor eating and sitting area. Food is always amazing. Service is always amazing. We just went there the other day for our anniversary and our waiter made us feel like it was our special day all over again. You get a free dessert, which I found out via email, so that's why we mentioned our anniversary. The dessert came out with "Happy Anniversary" written in chocolate on the plate. They also brought us two complimentary glasses of champagne. Very classy establishment. Love going there! read more

My wife and I decided to have a celebratory dinner at Provision this evening. We were excited to try this new Cunningham property. However, it was a general disappointment. We had the Lobster Dumpling to start. That was the highlight of the savory courses. While they were less filled than I would have hoped, the flavors were nice. They had a soy glaze on them with fried onions, which added a sweetness and crunch to the dish. My wife ordered the beet salad, which we were warned was "petite." The flavors were generally pleasant, but for $11, the portion was atrocious. It's not as though we've never been to a Cunningham restaurant, and I understand there is often a markup, but the prices in general were totally incongruous with the quality and quantity of food. I ordered the Caesar salad, which was billed as having white anchovy and giardiniera. That was exciting. I love anchovy. I love giardiniera. What I got was approximately one tablespoon of crummy half-pickled carrot ("giardiniera") and - I'm seriously not kidding about this - one-half of one white anchovy. Literally 0.5 of a white anchovy. I am happy to pay $10 for a Caesar salad with anchovies. But who in their right mind would pay that for an under-dressed, Mann-packing-plastic-bag-of-romaine, half-anchovy Caesar? From a restaurant group that has put some significant, delicious properties in Indiana (i.e. Vida), this was ridiculous. Perhaps I should have understood "anchovy" to mean one anchovy - all the other dishes are stupidly listed in the singular ("Lobster dumpling" - there are four; "Scallop" - there are three). But I didn't even get one entire anchovy. The entrees were fine, but ridiculously over-priced for the quality. My wife's scallops and gnocchi tasted fine, but they weren't $35 dollars fine. The quality of scallop at Kona Jacks is superior, even if the place is kitschy as all get-out. The gnocchi were over-mixed and dense. It also would be improved if either entrée had any detectable salt on it. My sea bass and cold soba was forgettable. While the fish was cooked expertly, it was utterly unseasoned. The "kabayaki lacquer" (essentially the sauce on unagi) was for reasons that defy comprehension not actually on the fish, but rather painted on the plate with a brush. Since the dish wasn't warm, it stuck to the plate like actual paint and did nothing to season the fish. The kimchi underneath wasn't nearly as good as the jars I can buy at Saraga on Lafayette road for $3.50. The mushrooms were wet and flavorless. To top it off - or not, rather - the cold soba was a side dish that had no discernable connection to the entrée as a whole. That half-cup was the best part of the entrée, which was an astonishing $42. The dessert, a peanut butter bomb, was perhaps the best thing of the night. Light, properly salty, and quite tasty. The banana cream pie ice cream was a pleasant surprise as well. The $16 Botanist Gin martinis were, again, surprisingly expensive for their size and the large chunks of ice with which they were served Honestly, I don't care that the bill, with a 20% tip was over $200. I'd gladly pay that for a meal that is delicious and well-crafted. This was an okay meal at a lesser CRG restaurant (i.e. Boulder Creek or Stone Creek) for more than I'd pay at Vida. I suppose that's my fault for dining with the people that fear traveling south of 86th street. It's a crime what you can get away with up there. We ate at Tinker Street the night before for half the cost. The quality was four times that of Provision, and I didn't need to enjoy it in an obnoxiously faux-industrial interior. Perhaps it is just a rough start to a new property, but I don't see a reason to eat here again. Ever. read more

So ...arrived for a birthday. Mixed Drinks weren't balanced, rather very heavy w alcohol. The muse was nothing to write home about . Placed our orders , not realizing it would be 40 minutes before dinner came out.. salad was so-so. The seafood was average, and the sea bass was overwhelmed with kimchi. Food has good visual presentation, but that's where it ended. Sorry that this restaurant which was billed has much higher quality was only average at best. ...and we definitely not worth what we paid. read more

It is difficult to rate any establishment with 5 stars but Provision earned the rating on all fronts. The greeting by hostesses and management team was welcoming regardless of us not having a reservation. The pre-dinner cocktails were on the mark - highly recommend the Aviation and the El Jardin. The staff was well trained and informed on the menu. The meal from starter to main course were truly impeccable. We recommend the Seabass and the Veal Chop while also recognizing there are more great selections on the menu. We capped the evening off with the Triple Chocolate Tart that was unique with a potato chip crust. Congratulations to the Cunningham Group with their latest establishment to serve our city with a top shelf culinary experience. read more

Went to Provision last night for the 3rd time. Drove down from northern IN just to go to Provision again. The service was fantastic and our waiter knew everything about the menu. He made great recommendations. We shared the charred shrimp appetizer: Awesome! Our entrees: Burger, Hake, and steak with Oscar feature. All fabulous! We were celebrating 2 events and shared 2 desserts: Pecan pie with maple ice cream and chocolate tart with lemon ice cream. We didn't think we could eat anymore. Turns out we could and did. They were both great! I LOVE this place! Shout out to the Sundae's Ice Cream on 79th. Our waiter said they get their ice cream from them and it was some of the best I've ever had. Went to Provision for Devour Indy and I doubt we'll be back. Nothing was bad, it just wasn't that great, particularly at their price point. For example, if you are going to charge $7 for bread it should be fresh and something special, that's not what we got. The blue cheese dressing on the wedge salad was excellent and we both had the filet. Mine was cooked well, extremely rare. But my husband ordered his medium and it was unpleasantly charred on the outside. Highlight was the chocolate tart for dessert but like everything we ordered the portion was quite small. Not a bad meal, just seemed not a good value. Service was erratic and slow. Disappointing overall. read more

First off we are from Chicago which has amazing restaurants but this by far beats Chicago!! We had the most amazing meal! The waygu steak was by far the best and is right up there with anything Gordon Ramsey would cook! Everything from the best Manhattan drink even down to a drink my son-in-law has been looking for 3 years for somebody to make and they made it perfect. The staff, the chefs and the bartenders were spot on!! The soup and beet salad were amazing a 10 on presentation! Chicken and salmon were amazing! Can't say enough good things about this restaurant.
