WOW- one of the best donut shops I've been to in a while, and I've been to my share of donut shops. I saw the high reviews for Prunedale and stopped by on a drive down to Paso Robles to pick up breakfast. Waze gave us weird directions and steered us to another plaza across the street from here, but we eventually figured it out and got to the right place. We came in around 10am and they had customers enjoying their donuts inside, but no line. It didn't seem like they had sold out of anything yet, so we got to order from their full variety. Not only is this a local small business that I fully support but the owners are super genuine and super friendly. Every time I stop by they always greet me with kindness. The food as well is spectacular, the cheese and ham croissant is to die for; super cheesy and fresh. I will not return the donuts were greasy, they had an old oil flavor. I also stood in a line of 7 people with out the line moving at all for 10 minutes as two elderly people moved very slow in the back. The place is so small and my opinion not very clean. When I left my clothes smelled like grease for most of the rest of the day. They only take cash and no restrooms for customers.....just old old and run down looking to me.....I will pass! read more

By far the best donut place I've ever been to. Service is quick and friendly. The donuts are delicious and fresh. The cake donuts are amazing - nice crisp on the outer layer followed by moist cake on the inside! Double chocolate cake are my favorite but they don't always have those and the regular chocolate iced cake are almost as good. The old fashions are great too. Really, everything is delicious. It is really a great family business to support. Only negatives: They can be quite busy and sometimes run low on on varieties and take cash only. But seriously these don't detract from how amazing this place is. Also, don't go if you are dieting. It'll end up being a regular stop! read more

I stopped in this small town bakery as part of a pitstop, and boy was I impressed with the doughnuts. The doughnuts in the display case had frosting just dripping off. I got an old fashioned maple doughnut for $.75, yum it was so good and so fresh! While I was enjoying my doughnut, some of the locals came in and it was interesting to listen to their interactions. One person came in to pay down their "doughnut" bill from the other day, which made me smile because its that small town feel where everyone knows everyone. read more

This place makes the absolute best bagels I've ever had! They are soo fresh, crunchy, large but soft on the inside. You can tell they were just made. Seriously, they are the best!! My wife and I make it a point to come here every Sunday. The donuts and bars are also very good. You get a sneak peak as to how they glaze them, as that part of the shop is visible to customers. The owners are very nice and always greet us warmly. Its immediately apparent that people love this place and are very fond of the bakers. The only thing I don't like is that they are cash only. As someone who makes it a point to never carry cash, this gets somewhat cumbersome and I need to stop by the atm every time I go. By the way, the donuts and bagels are ridiculously cheap. Get there early, because EVERYTHING runs out. Although they bake through out the day, they have a hard time meeting demand. read more

Best donut place. This is your family run hole in wall donut shop. Their donuts are our favorite donuts. If your timing is good you can get them right out of the oven, which is even better. They also make some other bakery items, crescents, muffins and bagels. Their bagels are really good, but as it is kind of a side item for them they don't have all of the different types of bagels and sandwich fixings that a bagel shop has. I love their bagels. I would like it if they would add one bagel and that would be a cheese jalapeno bagel. Places I've seen carry it, it is one of their top sellers and I think it would do well in Prunedale. read more
