I like the ax throwing experience that they added to the end and that they have performers entertain entertaining in line while you wait. It really can't get crowded and the lines can become long so I always try to go in the earlier end. The performers are great and it makes for a fun experience during Halloween.

Our first sentiments were that we didn't feel welcomed. We had a group of four (all of us business aged 45-50) and we kept getting asked to move by staff several times. All while not feeling like they were being helpful at all. It just felt childish and I was even second-guessing going in. Three different staff members asked to see our tickets. Rules were repeated to us a total of three times. Now for the haunt - it was stifling hot inside the building through the whole maze / so much that I was getting dizzy and my friends couldn't wait for it to be over just to get back into a breeze.. The sets were detailed but it was a lot of similar themes going on in many of the rooms - it lacked some imagination in favor of just medical gore scenes. There was fog in areas that were too heavy to even enjoy what was coming at us - and that fog landed in many rooms. The end of the maze that leads into the retail exit was abrupt - there was no grand finale moment. Overall, not much stood out as very interesting or outstanding. (Exception: the subway cars) Go if you are a huge fan of haunts and Halloween. But if you only go to one haunt each year, this isn't the one.

Terror Mansion is primarily a commercial haunted house and if you don't find it scary, you may need to verify that you have a pulse. Multiple rooms (their Web site says 23, but I honestly wasn't counting) keep you on edge the whole time. There's no rise and fall in intensity -- it's intense from beginning to end. Winding, confusing and noisy...it messes with your senses in nearly every possible way. But that's not my forte. Even the best commercial haunted houses aren't for me (even though I do subject myself to them every now and then). The best part of Terror Mansion is the "After Hours Ghost Tour." When she bought it, the owner did not know the building was truly haunted. It was only after multiple, strange occurrences that she started to investigate the history of the building and the area. I won't spoil the fun, but there are quite a few stories and photos that just couldn't be coincidences. Full body apparitions and phantom phone calls are just the beginning. Go for the thrills, but stay for the chills. You won't be disappointed.

The only thing scary about this place is how lame it is! Last year, I bought the Living Social deal…read morefor Terror Mansion thinking it would be cool. I was new to San Antonio at the time and did not know any better. After driving around for some time because the place was so hard to find, we get to the mansion and wait in line for about 30 minutes or so. The building itself looked like a regular building with little to no decorations to make it look creepy or haunted. Once inside, I was immediately disappointed. All of the actors looked like teenagers in their street clothes with some rubber masks on. They came up to you and literally just said, "boo." My boyfriend and I were just walking through rather than running and screaming because that is how NOT scary, suspenseful, creepy, it was. At one point, my boyfriend and I are trying to find the exit and I ask him how we get out to which one of the actors walks up and says in a regular, cheerful, non-scary voice, "oh, just walk down the hall and to the left." I have been to countless other haunted houses, House of Torment being my favorite and maybe that is why I found Terror Mansion to be so disappointing but this place was on par with your high school haunted house. The actors did not stay in character, the production was cheap, and the whole experience lasted maybe 5 minutes. It should have cost no more than 5$ for what you get. If you are a parent and you want to take your child to a haunted house that will not leave them terrified then this may be for you. If you like to be scared and want to have a genuinely creepy time and get your money's worth, then DO NOT go to Terror Mansion. For a little more money you can go to House of Torment or the 13th Floor in San Antonio and get a real scare.

I of course read a handful of reviews that gave me the push & I am so glad I did. This will definitely be somewhere I go again next year. I love getting scared & used to frequent halloween horror nights, so I can say with confidence all of the houses were scary! You can tell effort & thought was put into each house, plus a sufficient amount of actors in each one that what made it so fun! I was impressed with the level of professionalism each ticket attendant had, with a smile on their face. Rather than having us enter with multiple parties in line, it was done individually so allows to have a more tailored experience w.o it being ruined in front of you & having people up your butt behind rushing you (that drives me crazy & is so insanely rude). With that said, the line does go much slower, so I ended up adding on the fast pass right there at the kiosk, which was well worth it. I was alone so the first house I was getting bored waiting lol. Parking was easy, & even though it was off the beaten path, didn't feel sketchy driving there at night. Even the porta potties were clean & maintained. One thing I would ask to improve is adding tables to sit. Can't wait to go back!

I love me some high thrill roller coasters! In the northwest part of San Antonio near La Cantera…read morewhere I10 meets Loop 1604 lies the closest Six Flags theme park (with roller coasters) to Houston since Astroworld closed decades ago. I've been to this particular Six Flags location over 25 times over my lifetime, and it has a great mix of rides for everyone. In my opinion, there are better Six Flags theme parks like Six Flags over Texas in Arlington and Six Flags Great America in Chicago, but this one in San Antonio is pretty good. It comes with several high thrill ride options like Iron Rattler (my favorite), Superman Krypton Coaster, and Wonder Woman. It also has lots of tamer rides for all ages. The food options are also pretty good, especially Johnny Rockets (those burgers and fries are amazing). As for crowds, it's hit or miss. Just know that on weekends around Halloween, Fright Night gets pretty packed. Same for Christmas at the Park. I once waited in line for over 2 hours to ride Iron Rattler. Less busy times like early May before the real summer kicks off, wait times are all less than 30 minutes even for the popular rides. There is also a water park directly connected inside the park so that's super convenient. In Dallas the water park is completely separate. As for pricing it's gone up over the years (even parking is $40 now whereas it was $20 not too long ago), but compared to the high end theme parks like Disney and Universal, Six Flags is very affordable. Enjoy!

Unfortunately this was just not a good experience. Paying…read more$40 to Park uncovered somewhere you are going to go in and spend loads of money is insulting, and an absolutely bizarre price to charge your customers. We are here for my son's birthday, mid June, so you would think everything would be on point! We got here and noticed immediately that the Batman was down. The boys opted for wonder woman, waited in line for about 30 minutes before the ride broke down and they did not get a chance to ride. This repeated itself multiple times throughout our visit: we would wait in line, in the heat for an unfathomable amount of time, just to be told the ride was no longer working and to go find something else. A water tube ride, the Pandemonium, and another that I didn't catch the name of. It also seems that there are multiple attractions that are simply not open, and like I said, we are here in June, not the off-season. Another thing to note is that there is absolutely no shade in the water anywhere you can swim. A woman in the wave pool was trying to protect herself from the summer sun with an umbrella, and was told she could not have her umbrella. As someone in Texas who has already had skin cancer myself, this is really not acceptable. We got the boys baskets of french fries, as the only other option at the food place we went in the waterpark was $20 chicken strips (they were out of $20 hamburgers) and the servings were so sad. There was clearly a deceased animal somewhere by the walkway at the waterpark we could smell every time we passed by. And as soon as it hit 5 o'clock, the GNATS!! oh my God, they were just everywhere. We came prepared to spend money today, with 5 of us; I'm not trying to be cheap. But for the amount of money everything costs, the experience just does not match up. If we wanted the main experience to be a wave pool, we could have done that much cheaper elsewhere. This was my son's birthday and I wanted so badly for everyone to have a great time, but this fell so short.
