Decided to try this coffee house out since they have our past 2 PM. They have very high-quality coffee and bakery items. I purchased one of their gluten-free blueberry muffins and they were good. The service was good and they were nice. I loved the ambience because it was very calming and they had a great playlist. It's also a very clean coffee shop and we would definitely go back. On our last visit to KC, PTs wasn't a high priority on my "must try coffee" list. But I am so thrilled that we ended up in the neighborhood and decided to pop in anyway... My list was so wrong! PTs had come up on some highly recommended KC coffee blogs/Yelp lists but nothing "wowed" me to come in. But as soon as I walked up to order, I was intrigued by some unique latte flavor combos. Ultimately I went with one that boasted notes of bergamot and orange and vanilla. Truly, up on taking in my first sip, something felt immediately outstanding. I make a lot of my own coffee syrups at home, and I went over and inquired of the barista if this was a house crafted syrup. She confirmed that - with the exception of white chocolate mocha - they make all their syrups in house. IMHO, that takes any coffeeshop to the next level. This flavor combo in particular was SO delightful that it's really won me over as a PT's fan! read more

Saturday morning coffee runs are honestly an epic event, so when I couldn't get into the first place I stopped, I panicked a bit. I googled places for a second time, and a few minutes later, I arrived at PT's. When I walked in there was a bit of a line, which gave me the opportunity to look around and take in the scenery. There were a few local creatives selling merchandise around the room, and some items produced by the store. The main menu posted on the walls had pretty simple selections to choose from. There was also an easel with a few food items. I ordered a specialty coffee and a delicious piece of pumpkin and chocolate chip bread. I love this place and hope to return soon! read more

This was only my 3rd visit to this PT's location, although it should be more but I've given up a couple of times due to parking issues. I've also enjoyed their Topeka and Power and Light locations. For $7; I jump-started my Monday morning with a cold brew flight of three 6 oz offerings. A nitro, a single source Ethiopian and the star of the flight - my first Kyoto style drip process. In what appears to be a large three section glass bong, ice cubes are filled in the top section dripping cold water into the section with ground coffee beans and filtering down into a third glass bowl with a finished product that is then chilled and served. The best cold brew I've ever experienced. Thanks PT's for giving me a new coffee experience! Staff and vibe are solid. read more

Walked into this coffee shop by mistake. Mistaken this coffee for another coffee place I wanted to try. But I am glad we did. Such a cute little coffee shop! I can see myself spending all day at this place with a good book or my work laptop. Coffee - I got ICED honey vanilla coffee with lavender syrup. It was a little light for my taste. I am a strong coffee person. I tasted honey and vanilla, but not lavender. But I won't let this stop me from coming back again. Food: I got the Handyman, highly recommend. $10 and worth it. The sandwich was loaded with meat, sauce, spinach, and a taste of heaven! I can see myself running late to work just for this sandwich. Love love love! The place is still nice to work and or study or meet up. I came here the other day after having to be in the area, and decided to get some breakfast, and pickup a bag of "John Brown" beans to brew at home. And a little side note to mention is that you do receive a free cup of coffee when you purchase a bag of ground coffee or beans, which is really nice. The only thing that was a disappointment was my breakfast sandwich had bacon and it seems that lately whenever I order bacon in a sandwich anywhere, it's always like rubbery beef jerky. It must be a common fact. Except this time the sandwich, as you can see in my image was on the burnt side. However, the coffee was still really good. read more

Have always been a fan. On a recent visit, however, I was only the person in the place (or so I thought). I went to use the (only) restroom and a homeless person was naked bathing himself in the sink. The staff visited with the man after he finished a number of minutes later. I wanted to like this place so badly, because it was quaint, close to my hotel, and the lady taking my order was really nice. However compared to another local coffee shop, the food and coffee just couldn't compare. I ordered a bacon and parmesan quiche, some protein balls, a cold brew, and a latte. The service was a little slow but understandable because only one person was working the whole place and I wasn't in a hurry. Coffee review: latte was ok but the last part of it tasted a little bit like, dirty bean water? The milk tasted a bit odd and I didn't finish the whole thing. I really wanted to enjoy the Kyoto cold brew but upon taking it to work, realized it literally needed a bottle opener to open it, a huge bummer since I didn't have one. Food review: this is what got me the worst. The quiche had plenty of bacon and plenty of...stringy onion. I like onion but the chunks of onion in it was off putting and hard to eat. It was almost like a worm like consistency in your food so I ate around it. I really enjoy PT's for a variety of reasons. Firstly, they are locally owned, with a headquarters in Topeka, KS. Secondly, they make an excellent product! You're going to find very solid coffee at any PT's location, in my opinion. This location is a pretty standard American hipster coffeehouse. It's got the trendy baristas, tasty coffee, and industrial ambiance. It also has a good amount of seating for the size of this cafe and is a welcoming spot to come and work. If you're looking for something a bit unique this might not be the place for you, but if you want a really solid cup of joe and some friendly baristas you'll be really satisfied here. read more

I was there for the event held by PT's at this location: First Friday Coffee Cupping. This is my first time visiting the crossroads location and I used to visit the power&light one. This location has bigger space and the decorations are more artistic. I definitely learned a lot new stuff from this cupping event, like the taste of the coffee can be affected by from the area/weather it's grown and can be manipulated by the way it's roasted, or the psychological effect simply by pouring into different cups. Also there are lots of science behind the coffee, it was amazing. Their staff are all enthusiastic about bring the best product to the customers and demonstrated their hard work to just bring a well presented coffee product on the shelf for sell. The coffee I sampled today was really smooth and balanced in flavor, which makes me want to try more their hand pour coffee just to enjoy the simplicity of the coffee. I will definitely recommend this coffee shop for their coffee, a coffee shop that's serious and enthusiastic about their coffee. read more

My husband and I are staying at the Crossroads hotel which serves coffee just fine lol. However, PT is right across the street so I couldn't not go. And I specifically wanted to try one of their seasonal lattes! I ordered the pumpkin rosemary with oat milk and got another one for my husband. He insisted that he wouldn't like it but after trying he said it was the perfect combination! I always love trying fall drinks but some times they come out too sweet. This pumpkin rosemary drink was awesome though! I also ended up leaving with bag of their "cold front" coffee beans! I cannot wait to try it when we get home! Overall I loved my experience at PTs. No big deal, I asked for ice and some creamer, which he gladly got for me. Still didn't fill my small cup though. Overall, meh. But the music they play is just TRASH. So hard to get stuff done when they have artists who are just spewing cuss words left and right at a fair volume. Go somewhere else if you're trying to be productive. I absolutely love this place. The vibe is so good the coffee is off the freaking hook! They even make a bean specifically for cold brew that you just cannot resist. Best Cortaro I have ever had ever anywhere! The people are great they have some vegan options for pastries the vibe is good it's a nice place to sit and work and hang out, have coffee or tea. Coffee places are everywhere, and artisan coffee roasters aren't exactly uncommon. That said, however, when you find an exemplary cup of coffee, you would do well to shout about it like a town crier. Or on Yelp, depending on your style. PT's in the Crossroads (with the OG location in Topeka and another outlet just off campus at KU) is doing coffee, and doing it beyond well. I love my coffee, and while I drink it every day, I am far from a connoisseur. But that's why I leave things like skill and prep to the experts. PT's dark roast blend left me stunned at first sip and I'm glad I was sitting down for it or else my knees may have buckled. Vibrant roast, not burnt, nutty notes, and near-perfect ratio of water to coffee yielded one of the best cups of coffee that I've had in a while. My sidekick opted for an iced chai, which she deemed 'sooo good' (adjectives weren't available at the time, I guess) and paired that up with a homemade strawberry pop-tart. The pop-tart lasted about as long as a baseball at a major league game. The baked goods selection is pretty stout, as I couldn't live without a cherry danish that I swear winked at me when I ordered a bottomless cup to stay. While this stop was more of a quick repast, I did take note of the menu and plan on a working Tuesday soon around the lunch hour just to see what their quiche game is like, or maybe the Phoenix (apricot mustard?). Parking is sketch, but it's the Crossroads, so deal. Lots of people likely aren't even worried as they walk or bike in this area. The staff was exceptionally nice, and there is plenty of seating for those that want to stay. Prices are on par with the 'Bucks, but the quality of what I tried would leave any chain baristas in the coffee grind dust. PT's is killing it - I wish they had a location closer to me, but I will absolutely be back. read more

I've been using PT's as a place for meetings for years and it's such a solid overall coffee shop. Their beans are tasty, the drip coffee always comes out well, and if it's not 100% packed, you can have an energetic study spot or meeting place. They even have their own little (emphasis on little) parking spot on the east side which is nice for this busy stretch of the Crossroads. This is a little in the weeds, but I'm not a fan of just one bathroom at a coffee shop, but get the space constraints. The overall vibe is on point with natural light and the energy of the city all around. One of the few places in KC that has sugar free Matcha! Let's clear something up, matcha is naturally sugar free but most places add sugar as the first ingredient b/c people in America like "sweet" things, which takes away any health benefit.... Whenever we are in the area we stop in for coffee (Jason) and a Matcha for me. I have even tried their Cascara coffee which is the only coffee I have ever been able to stomach, I have no idea how they do it, but they do. You Rock PT's! I have not tried their food, due mostly to being allergic to gluten and I don't see GF on their menu and I haven't asked. The coffeetenders are always amazingly helpful with any questions that I may have and have wonderful patience for my questions. Definitely a cool spot to grab coffee with friends and even study! Space here is plentiful and the tables are big enough to spread out your computer and papers if you're studying here! However, they do play their music loudly. So, if you need a quiet space to study like me, you won't get too much done. (I happened to be singing along to the all the songs because the playlist is amazing!) There's a side lot for parking which seems small, but I've never had a problem with parking! There's also additional parking on the street as well! As for the drinks, I'm in love with their espresso milkshakes! If you are a fan of coffee ice cream, I would highly recommend this drink! It's pure happiness! I've also tried their iced chai tea latte which was pretty good as well! It wasn't overly strong with the spice and just the right amount of sweet for me! In a bustling area of town, PT's coffee is perfectly located! I was so surprised by how close it was to me when I ventured in after leaving my car to be repaired down the street. The area is completely safe with unique stores and delicious restaurants such as Lulus's and Cafe Gratitude near by. I found a new appreciation for Kansas City after walking to this coffee shop and along the streets of crossroads. As for the coffee shop itself, they were undergoing construction; nonetheless, they had a line to the door when I arrived. There was plenty of seating available, and many were close to an outlet as well. I ordered a latte with vanilla syrup, and it certainly held up to expectations! It was served in a beautiful mug with the name of the coffee shop. Overall, I enjoyed the vibes of the restaurant especially the music that they were playing as it transitioned from newer artists to throwback songs. Unfortunately, in the middle of my work, the wifi stopped working. I asked an employee, and he told me that it was most likely due to the construction. He was very friendly and came to check couple of times if it started working again which it did in an hour. I have been a regular at the Crossroads PT's Coffee for over 2 years. I just can't say enough good things about this cozy coffee shop! First of all, their coffee (especially latte's) are consistently outstanding. It is obvious they use the highest quality beans. I have tried almost every coffee shop in the city and nothing compares. The best part about this coffee shop are the amazing baristas! There doesn't seem to be much staff turnover and everyone there is so welcoming and friendly. They take time to get to know their customers and our names and coffee preferences. You are warmly greeted when you walk through the door and I always leave in a great mood because they make their customers feel special. Coffee was great! And I had a strawberry pop tart that was good. I have a meeting with lots of people and there was plenty of tables and chairs.
