Fun menu, neat place. Not too expensive. Would visit again. I would prob try another place before but wouldn't be mad coming back!

Cute local pub close to our hotel. We were able to walk here. I order the Parmesan crusted salmon salad and sweet potato fries, my colleague ordered the walleyed sandwich. They were both Ok. The salmon was on the dry side, and the salad wasn't very special. Just a greens mix with a few cranberries and almonds thrown in. The sweet potato fries were good with the aioli dipping sauce. We ordered desserts, but they were tiny and not great in flavor/texture. We didn't end up eating the bread pudding or the strawberry cheesecake just a quick taste, it's not worth taking in the calories! They played Beatles radio the whole time, so overall, it was a great experience. We chose Pub 500 for breakfast in Mankato because we thought their menu sounded the most expansive and unique. We all ordered Bloody Marys--Fathers Day, why not?--and they were alright, a little tangy for me and not much for toppings, just olive and pickle. I've become too spoiled with MOLS Bloodies. For breakfast, we couldn't deny our desire for some gooey hearty deliciousness, so two of us ordered the Bangers and Breakfast, and two ordered the Breakfast Poutine. I got cheese sauce instead of gravy with my Bangers. I couldn't finish two Italian sausages (brat sized), so much food! Wish I would've gotten hash browns instead of breakfast potatoes, they were a little basic. My brother and mom loved the poutine! Perfect amount of food with cheese curds (fresh, not fried). Came with over easy eggs and gravy--yum! Not the most amazing food or service I've had for brunch, but pretty unique and well done for Mankato. Would recommend! read more

Absolutely the best walleye. I had it as a sandwich with the wild rice. I wish I could find something wrong with it but it was absolutely perfect. My Son said the wings were easily the best in town. Has a kickass atmosphere, the decor will keep your eyes moving. Enough TVs to see from any direction you are facing. The service was above reproach from Mary Beth. She is worth 5 stars all by herself. We talked to the owner Tom for quite awhile and shared ideas and was a very pleasant visit. All in all definitely 6 outa 5 stars. read more

I am not someone to usually write a review however high quality service and great food is rare. Our waitress Ashley was quick, witty, and knowledgable about the menu. The Irish dishes were a hit. We finished our dinner with the Home-made Irish dessert. read more

The server was very friendly but the kitchen is evidently not staffed properly. It was 20 min before we placed our order and it was an hour before our food came out and only one of our the 4 meals we ordered was hot. Too expensive for this quality of food. Probably won't be back. read more

I thought the menu was a typical one that you would see at many places. I got the salmon entree which was $16.99 so it seemed like typical price. I liked it. Thought it was very moist and my mash potatoes was yummy. Overall if I lived in Mankato I would probably just try the place once and go somewhere else. Would have loved to have eaten here. I picked out the turkey sandwich with cranberry sauce since I missed out on Thanksgiving. But I sat for 10 minutes before I got a water and Sprite. Then he never came back. Walked past me for 20 more minutes cleaning tables and checking on other customers. I put $5 on the table to pay for my drink and left. Went down the street and had a lovely BLT and watched hockey. It was way cheaper than what I tried to get at Pub 500 and someone actually spoke to me. read more

We really had a nice meal at Pub 500. Good music overhead, good staff and the meal was very good. Burgers and Comfort Food that was very tasty. The indoor area was nice and outdoors look like it would be fun in nicer weather. Definitely go to this place. read more

Seriously good food in a chill environment. Plenty of seating and enough space to be social with others or be on a date. We took a trip to Mankato to see the Dakota 38 ceremony on December 26th but took off from Minneapolis after a long day of having family over and did not want to even think of cooking. So we took a road trip checked into the Hilton and they gave us a coupon for free dessert. The menu is pretty relaxed from full meals, some cool salads, and a lot of burgers. I ordered the turkey and mashed potatoes bowl and it was amazing. Like having Thanksgiving day leftovers. It was really good. The price is right and we will visit this place again when we come back! read more

Awesome food, everything is fresh not frozen, you can certainly tell. MaryBeth our server was on top of everything, courteous and just outstanding. Being from out of town the staff was very friendly and you can tell they all care about where they work, even Tom the owner has such a passion for what he does, the food being served and the service his staff provides. Had the fish & chips WOW, delicious and STUFFED me! My Husband had the Walleye sandwich and it was such an awesome food experience for him. Our Son said the wings are the best in town!!!! The Pub! I can actually remember when there used to be a Auto Repair place on this corner, when Pub 500 was being built there was a definite excitement in Kato. I've always liked the relaxing ambiance at Pub 500 compared to the other downtown establishments. You can always count on a more quiet atmosphere, more under control drinkers and enjoyable live music. Like Rod S. noted, defnitely the best bar for grown ups on any given night. The space is a good size and there is even a comfortable seating area with leather couches and a fire place. The bar is huge and centrally located, there is a nice open kitchen and plenty of high top tables to choose from. Pull tabs are a nice plus too if you want to do a little gambling:) I always enjoyed the food here but I remember liking breakfast a lot more. They always seemed to dabble with different late night options so I really don't even know what they are offering for the drunk crowd now. One thing for sure, probably some of the nicer bathrooms downtown for that time when nature calls if ya know what I mean. read more

Pulled turkey with avocado and cranberries was delicious. The pulled turkey was SO good, and the avocado and cranberries made the perfect additions. I would have liked a little different bun, but not sure what that would be. Sitting out on the street, and being able to listen to music from down the street was a plus as well. Stopped in for the first time after hearing positive things. My experience wasn't a great one. Bloody Mary was lacking everything but ice. I had the Hickory Burger and my husband had the Pork and Slaw. They were just okay but definitely not worth $17.00. I would definitely check out other close by options next time. read more

Our server Rachael at the bar was amazing today. Extremely helpful, friendly and fun. Made some excellent food suggestion as well as draft beer choice. The place was clean and we would come back next time in town. The food was very good and hot. The mixed veggies were perfectly cooked and seasoned. My family came here to have some beverages after my wife completed the mankato marathon. This was her return to running after beating breast cancer. We were outside on the patio and my son became hungry so I ran across the street to get him a slice of pizza because it was a hungry now type situation. When he got about 3/4 of his slice eaten, the waitress said to him "You can't eat that here, you have to go outside the fence. No outside food" I understand the concept but there also wasn't a sign. She was so rude and heartless to a 6 year old. It took all I had to not make a scene. We were purchasing drinks while we were there. She could have let it slide being he was almost done anyway. She didnt have to talk down to a 6 year old like he had done something wrong. This was a block party type atmosphere where people were walking all over with "outside food and beverages. I have been coming here since the place opened but I will not step foot in that place again and I encourage others not to as well. read more

Mediocre food and service. Homemade chips were so greasy. Pulled Turkey was ok but the bun it was in was way too big and was dry. The bbq sauce was horrible and ruined the only good part of the meal. Coleslaw was just ok. Husband had the hickory burger and liked it a lot. Service was average to below average. Great pub grub. I got the sloppy Joe. It had a sweet taste, it just filled the bun. Wish it were sloppier cause it was good. Basil got walleye and wild rice cause it was Friday. A generous piece and really tasty. They serve a single sized bread pudding in a glass. I took a bite and it was nice and boozy. Great service and the seating is comfy. We sat next to someone who works in St. Paul and overheard him talking about having lunch at Mama's, that got our attention. I wanted to come for brunch but we ran early on Sunday. It's like a overpriced Applebees. It had friendly staff, If you're over 30, it's a good place to hangout. They mix up their draft beer often, it's selection is different every time. Pub 500 is similar to Applebees with live music. Sometimes they serve frozen burgers microwaved. There is also a fire pit. read more

Solid 4 stars. Atmosphere is comfortable and relaxed. Service fast and friendly. The hickory burger, though $13.99 (expensive in my world) was cooked perfectly and tasted great. It had pulled pork, bacon, pepper jack cheese and their "signature BBQ sauce". I liked it a lot. They also had a reasonable selection of micro beers; not all local. My only suggestion is that my burger arrived sitting in a puddle of something. I really hate that but I caught it quickly so it wasn't so bad. I will definitely return. read more

We ate here Saturday night. We had 9 people so we sat at 2 different tables towards the back. We had great food. But our server was very snotty and rude. I couldn't believe she was even a server with a horrible attitude like that. It was too bad. We were there visiting our college kids for the night and she kind of put a damper on our good time.
