More bar, I like a bar!
    Denise D.

We were going to a different restaurant to celebrate our new home, but I realized my clothes were still packed so casual it was and we enjoyed Heavy's so much last time it was a no brainer. First of all, they were slammed!! Evidently the Charleston Open was taking place on Daniel Island and the place was packed, but they did have lots of employees to cover. We were able to snag two seats at the bar. Ordered wine, Barburger with pepper jack and onion rings. I didn't mind that it took quite a bit of time, they were busy. The onion rings came out first when we asked for them to be served with the burgers. They were tasty and I still loved the sauce. I kept thinking the burgers were coming out any second and when I realized they weren't , they weren't very hot but now I know to just go ahead and eat them. My burger came out first and once again I waited. I didn't want it to get stone cold so I started. The burger completely fell apart in my hand it was so soggy and greasy. So I ate it with a knife and fork. The smash burgers seriously lacked seasoning which is not what I remembered. You can see the grease pooling in the picture. Halfway through I asked about the other burger. It finally came out. You could pick his up so I'm guessing this is a one off. Loved seeing the doggies there with their owners.

This place was awesome! It was so clean and ran like a well oiled machine! Great atmosphere! Reed was our server and he was amazing and gave us great recs! We got a Luten's Cheeseburger / Onion Rings and a Patty Melt with an extra patty/ crinkle fries. It was all so delicious! The bbq dipping sauce/ Heavy's sauce/ ranch dressing were all delicious! Our food came super quick which was awesome during the lunch rush. We can't wait to go back and take our friends! Def best burger we have found here!

Let me start out with the burgers are amazing! Cooked & seasoned to perfection! We ordered the Barburger & the BLT - both were delicious! Where are experience went south was the service! We went on a Sunday at lunch & sat at the bar . The music was obnoxiously loud! The bartender overheard us talking about it (I did not say anything to her yet) & just told us that she "absolutely cannot turn down the music "! I responded it's just unusually loud. She then told me we could sit outside . Mind you it was quite chilly. There was absolutely no reason for the attitude! She then threw the to-go box at my husband when we asked for one. Good food does not make-up for a bad attitude.

Our fav place during our visit to Charleston. Fast and friendly service. Milkshakes with sprinkles. Great crinkle fries with house made aioli. Loved the different burgers with smash patties

Great burger spot! Smash burgers were flavorful. The onion rings are huge. Nice spot on Daniel Island with inside and patio seating.

Heavy's is one of my favorite burgers in the area- always! Their onion rings are to die for, the burgers are perfect, and the sweet potato fries are quality. Their pie is the freaking bomb too. We tried the Daniel island location and I have one complaint: it was too loud! The music was blaring so loud and it was so busy we couldn't talk at all. Besides that, everything was delicious and service was impeccable. I prefer the downtown location!

If you're looking for a good burger on DI, this is the spot. The service is always friendly and attentive and they don't mind a modification (I always sun pepperjack cheese, only get 1 patty, and avoid the onions) The food comes out quickly and drinks are always well-poured. Big fan of their lemonade, it's not too sweet or tart, perfect blend. So excited that this location has MILKSHAKES!!!! They are so good and for someone who loves just about anything raspberry flavored, I'm so happy they chose to go raspberry over strawberry.

Gluten-free bun cheeseburger in front( FANTASTIC!), side salad, and heavy basket of rings.

This spot was fresh, fun, relaxed, and well priced. Great onion rings, nice salads, the Best gluten free bun in Charleston, and solid burgers. Quick friendly service and online ordering for take out keep things simple.

I hated to see LA's go from DI, but I'm elated that Heavy's has taken their spot to provide delicious eats at a reasonable price point on Daniel Island. The joint is clean and spacious inside and out (they kept and revamped the patio that was existing). The food, I'm happy to report was just as good as their original location downtown. The bacon and eggs (read: deviled eggs with thick cut lightly peppered, bacon candy atop a thinly shredded crispy lettuce bed) screams echos of Easter all year long for a delightful treat for the table or just for you! The fried were served, hot & crispy. The barbieger was perfectly smashed and served up on the best Gluten Free bun in town! The burger is such a solid staple in my order that I normally can't get past ordering anything but that. I was able to convince a split between that and the chicken this go-round. We also tried the grilled chicken sandwich with the avocado mayo and it did not disappoint! And, as always, had to hop on the "Band-Wagon" and ordered this frozen delight served in a collectible plastic keepsake cup roting it's very own same of the same, sporting a boombox. The staff greeted us as soon as we walked through the door and stopped by many times throughout lunch to ensure we had everything we needed! Can't wait to go back to this location so much closer to home. Also, we brought a party of just under 15 on a Saturday afternoon and they were able to accommodate, no problem!

Very busy restaurant with communal tables and few booths. Food and service were really great! My only complaint is the music was super loud! My friend each ordered a Barburger, shared basket of hand dipped onion rings and 6 piece wings which they let me try two different sauces...the Red Ranger and Wright sauce. Both were really good and highly recommend.

Was excited to get to Heavy's for the first time since we live nearby and I've been eager for a good burger experience. We ate on the patio of what used to be Laura Albert's. It's located in the shopping center close to Publix which is being enlarged and remodeled. Service was incredibly friendly and helpful. I had the Cheeseburger and sweet potato fries. Nancie had the company salad. Good experience and wonderful service along with clean friendly atmosphere assures our return. Give them 4 stars out of 5 because the burger although good is not exceptional. Just another smash burger, but one I'd eat once a week if they weren't so unhealthy.

Heavy's recently opened up on Daniel Island, taking over the space previously occupied by Laura Albert's. They're still in their soft-opening phase, which means they aren't doing any takeout right now, which is fair; they're still figuring out how to work things. The seating inside is a little spartan, with a couple of booths and the rest of the seating being long bar top tables. It gets crowded, so I'd recommend coming before the lunch or dinner rush. I enjoyed my Luten's cheeseburger, which came with a cracklingly crispy smashed patty. I wasn't the biggest fan of the generous spread of mayo or the whole raw onion on the burger, but that was my bad for not catching that. Aside from that, it was a perfect smashburger with a soft and pillowy bun. The wings we ordered had a good kick to them, but they weren't the crispiest. All the servers were polite and helpful, and they offered us free refills on our lemonades without asking--I was surprised it was free seeing as it was fresh-squeezed. The owner even stopped by our table to introduce himself and answers our questions about the place. Overall, Heavy's is a great addition to Daniel Island's restaurant lineup that cooks up a worthy smashburger.

The menu has everything from sandwiches and salads to pastries, and they offer dine in, takeout, and delivery. Numerous gluten free options as well! The bread is even shipped in from Port Chester, New York! The South Side sandwich is incredible and as close to Arthur Avenue style as you will find. The crispy chicken cutlet with prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, fire roasted peppers, and balsamic is perfection. The chicken parm sandwich is equally as impressive! As a first time visitor, they even give you a free cookie, which is such a thoughtful touch. The owner, Christian, made the experience unforgettable. As a fellow Fairfield County native, he went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. He was kind, generous, and had us sample the gluten free protein bombs and house made chips, which were amazing, along with their Arnold Palmers. The hospitality here is unparalleled. It is the perfect mix of northern charm and southern warmth. Easily the best service I have experienced from any owner in the Charleston area. All of the staff were wonderful and seemed to enjoy working there. It's also beautiful, bright and clean. The Boss is a must for anyone from Jersey. Taylor pork roll, two local eggs, and American cheese on a poppyseed kaiser roll done right! We cannot wait to come back. Wishing Christian and the entire team continued success!

They do not have bathrooms, however, the nearby bathroom was well maintained and suitable for myself as well as a diaper change for my daughter. My husband and I are vegan and the reason I cannot give 5 stars to this business is there are no readily available vegan options on the menu. It is a good spot for vegetarians, but the menu is lacking dairy free/egg free options without meat. When we spoke to the employees taking orders about what we could eat as vegans, I appreciate how patient and creative they were to come up with a solution. We ended up ordering a pizza with no cheese and all the available vegetable toppings. The pizza did look beautiful. I thought the presentation was lovely. The best part of the pizza was the crust. I am a sucker for a wood fired crust. The toppings did not taste great. The flavors were a little too acidic for my preference. I assume the cheese would have mellowed that out and this pizza was not really meant to be veganized. I thank The DIME for doing all they could to accommodate my vegan family. I do hope next time I visit there is an actual vegan option on the menu I can enjoy.
