We absolutely love coming here when we are in Sacramento for either an event or just visiting friends. The chicken wings are bomb. I mean bomb. Very sad this restaurant is closing, but so glad I was able to get in for its final day. The staff was incredibly friendly. Our waiter was Calvin and he was so kind. I'm here at least once a week (more during football season). The staff from hostess to bartenders to the manager are all very welcoming, and hospitable putting an emphasis on great service. Everything we've ever ordered has been tasty. They have delicious pizzas, very generous proportioned salads, good fries, great wings, huge nachos, tasty avocado egg rolls and an amazing brownie sundae dessert. This is a great spot for a chill afternoon and a couple drinks with friends. Bartenders are super friendly and check in regularly without being overwhelming. Food is good! The dude and I went to the Public House on 6/27/23 and 6/28/23. We were in town for his job and me must to tag along and explore . We came just for happy which was the move 100% as I personally think they have the best happy hour in Sac! You can't beat the high quality food and drinks that are so mouthwatering tasting. I've popped in here several times before catching a show at Crest or play at SAFE credit union. There's a lot of parking options nearby, including street parking. I have walked in several times, without much of a wait, but reservations are available on resy.com. They have a rectangle bar in the middle of the restaurant with seating surrounding. There are TVs on the bar for easy game viewing. They also have several booth tables along the walls with a select tables on the far side. They also have a decent size outdoor space that you can utilize during the hot summer nights. We always start with the large soft pretzel, because how can you ever pass that up on the menu? It truly is massive (big or bigger than a head) and can feed 3-4 people as an appetizer. It's nice and soft and comes with two dips. They have a lot of beer on tap and indicate the local beers on their menu so you can try something from nearby. They have preselected beer flight options to take out the guess work. They also have several cocktails (and mocktails), and a variety of wine. The spicy chicken sandwich was delicious! Perfect amount of kick without making the entire sandwich overwhelming. The slaw helped offset the spice, and provided a fun crunch. Every time the waiters are very attentive and great. The bartender/waitress and food runner/busser were really on top of things. I do not consider this place a "sports bar". Public house is my go-to spot to watch sports in midtown! They have a great happy hour until 6pm which is half off pizzas and appetizers and drink specials. The service is generally good and bar tenders are always very friendly, especially Chris. Wednesday they have wing specials. My favorite things here are pizza, wings and their brunch. They have decent bloody Mary's as well. During a big game or football season you have to go ahead and it can get packed, but generally I've always had good service here. I ordered a cocktail which was $3 off. The service is good. Our server was very attentive. We were seated right away for it being a Friday. I was not a fan of their nachos they put ranch on them. The nachos cost $7.50. The nachos had pulled pork and the meat was good. I thought the tater tots had a good flavor too them as well and a good size portion. The tater tots were $5.75. So we stood around the bar for a few minutes white a table opened up in the back of the restaurant. A table opened up maybe 5-10 minutes after we arrived, so we asked the hostess for that table and seated a few minutes later. So waited maybe another 10 minutes before a waitress came to take our order, probably due to the restaurant being pretty busy. They have lots of great deals for happy hour, like $5 well drinks, $7 cocktails, and half off of most of their pizzas and appetizers (except for the shrimp pizza and spicy edamame). We didn't even finish them all, but they were so good. I would absolutely come back to order those nachos again. The pizza was good, but not great. The combination of fontina cheese with chipotle barbecue sauce was nowhere near as flavorful as expected. It wasn't exactly bland, but it lacked pizzaz. I would definitely not order that pizza again. For a Thursday night, it was pretty noisy, although my friend informed me that it gets much noisier on the weekends. 3.5 stars and the only reason why it's getting 3.5 is because of Ryan and their public house burger. It was Sunday, football Sunday, and we were a party of 11 girls celebrating a birthday. The hostess was not friendly and told us it would be a long wait because no one was leaving. My friend described her as "not helpful." Other parties with a small number of people were being seated or told it was open at the bar. The hostess is the first person with which people interact so great communication and friendliness is necessary. I understand the game was on and people weren't leaving. However, the only reason why we waited, and didn't go to Cafeteria 15L, was for the bottomless mimosas and the burger. Well, you can guess our reaction when, after 1.5 hour, we were seated and our server told us they don't serve bottomless mimosas on Sundays. I repeat they don't serve bottomless mimosas on Sundays. Our hostess never mentioned this to us nor is it posted anywhere in their restaurant. We had already waited so we were obviously disappointed. Our server Ryan came to greet us right away. He was so helpful and patient with us all. He answered all of our questions and never rushed us. Since we couldn't order bottomless, we ordered bottles of Prosecco. Ryan brought us ranch before we even asked! :) Food: Burgers, sandwiches, waffles, and eggs Benedict came out first. They said the pizzas take longer. The burgers are delicious! I would highly recommend a burger. I only added cheese to mine & it was perfect. The eggs Benedict with pork tasted like carnitas. The waffle was a waffle. Initially, there were visibly three employees with two behind the bar. Also, not a lot of patrons so once someone directed Alyssa to our table we were able to order immediately because we knew what we wanted. After ordering we were able to get fresh pizzas, boneless wings, avocado egg rolls, and waffle fries. Our waitress, Alyssa hardly paid attention to our table but only came twice. I also had to ask other employees to get her attention to provide us to go containers. Since there was hardly any customers I felt that if Alyssa was more attentive to her customers then services would have been 5 stars. In short, food 5 stars highly recommend.
