What the?!?! Halacha for 1 quarter?! NBA Blitz?! Pinball? Ms. PAC Man? Etc...?!?! Loved this place! Happy hour was great and cheap and the signature mixed drinks were super tasty!!! Our bartender seems to be running the show by himself and he was great! Nothing beats playing Galaga while 80's hits play. Love this place!!!!!

Amazing always! No matter if we come for an event or just to chill, always fun. Drinks are reasonably priced for Sacramento bar standards, and they're strong AND good. The service is always spectacular, especially the conversations I've gotten to have with the folks who scan ID. Everyone is so nice always, and creeps always get kicked out! Love it here, love you guys!

I've visited Coin-Op Game Room on and off over the past couple of years, and overall, I think it's a solid concept that they execute pretty well. There aren't many bars around that combine drinks with classic arcade games, so it's refreshing to have a place where you can do both in one spot. They have a great variety of games to choose from--everything from classic fighting games and Pac-Man to Guitar Hero and pinball. I also really love the extras like the photo booth and air hockey, which add to the fun and make it easy to spend more time there with friends. It's strictly 21+ (not a bar and grill situation), which is honestly a plus--no kids running around. You do have to head down a set of stairs to get inside, so just be mindful if you're wearing heels. There's also a security check at the entrance where they verify IDs before letting you in. The place is almost always packed, especially on weekends. Because of that, I usually don't stay too long when it's crowded since it can start to feel a bit claustrophobic. Drinks are reasonably priced and taste fine--no real complaints there--but when it's busy, you definitely have to squeeze your way in to catch a bartender's attention. I've never had a bad experience here when going with friends, and it's generally a fun time in a group. That said, I'm not sure how enjoyable it would be if you were solo drinking, as the vibe really leans toward social, high-energy hangouts. Still, a fun spot with a cool concept that's worth checking out.

The Kirby: so much space between the surface of the liquid and the rim of the glass. Not worth $16

A bright, high sensory (almost too loud) experience that is spacious, friendly vibes, that includes pool tables, along with old and new arcade games. I'm absolutely not a fan of being charged tax for my drink. I've not been charged tax in other bar/food places, but it's just something to know for future. The chicken wings are way overpriced: $20 for twelve wings. There are happy hour specials Tuesday to Friday from 5-7pm, including 1/2 off "food sharables" (what?). If money is no object since you'll definitely be also paying for parking, you might enjoy this place as a laid back spot to hang by yourself, with a friend, or maybe a date.

Coin-op is such a fun place to check out in downtown Sac. I love the retro, arcade style video games. The air hockey tables are super fun, and the darts. I also love playing the pinball machine. There's a Photo Booth too! Jenga outside with a couple of claw machines! Bring lots of quarters but there's a machine that exchanges dollar bills to change. The drinks are ok but I'm interested to try out the pizza. The slices seem reasonable price

Seemed to be only one bartender and he didn't seem to want to be there. We waited at the bar for about 10 min before we were asked if we needed anything'. Now other than that it was a good time, the drinks where good and the pizza was amazing!!! They since remodeled it again from the last one I was there and it looked great.

Coin-Op is such a fun bar downtown to go to on a night out. The bar is lined around with retro games including air hockey, skeeball, and all kinds of video games. Some days it's very laid back and you can sit inside or outside with a group of friends and other nights it gets very packed! The drinks are good and their food is too. The pizza and pretzel bites have yet to disappoint. The workers are super cool and friendly. Came here recently to celebrate a birthday with a small group and we got to enjoy the games and take a picture in their photo booth. Definitely recommend as a stop in a bar crawl or for a night out with your friends if you love a more upbeat atmosphere.

Had a wonderful time at the Coin Op playing games. The awesome bartender josheawa was AMAZING and so kind to us. The games all were functioning and super fun. Perfect spot for a night out with friends or a fun date night. 10/10 recommend. Make sure to bring cash. There is an ATM, but if you typically use credit cards instead of debit bring cash

My first thought was that this place seemed like a fun place to have a first date! Lots of games to play and they have a photobooth upon walking in. Drinks are good, and bartenders attended to us so fast. We didn't stay very long but the vibes seem fun with all these activities. I kinda dislike the area it's located at just because the clubs and other bars can get wild.

    Jamie B.

We stopped here after leaving a bar in the same area. It's 21 + and they check purses and IDs before entering. It was a Saturday night so it was fairly busy but it was easy to order a drink and play the games you wanted. We put in $20 for quarters and had enough to play for about an hour for a group of 4. The prices of games seemed to be $1/each. The bartenders were friendly and even offered a free shot to a birthday guy in our group. This is definitely a fun place to be and is great for a date night or a night out with friends.

Ask the Community - Coin-Op Game Room

Can anyone say what their favorite arcade games to play at this place are? I'm trying to get an idea of what is available.

Many classics like Dig Dug, newer games like Mario Kart, 4player PAC Man, and some other carnival games like basketball and skeeball. There's really a bit of everything: fighting games, a variety of pinball games, dancing games/DDR, etc.

Are you open this Monday for labor day?

Hi Rebecca, Thank you for your inquiry. We will be closed this Monday for Labor Day. Thank you, and we hope to see you soon!

Free plays the last Sundays of every month? Does that mean it's completely free to go inside and play every single game?

Hi, yes the last Sunday of the month all of the games are free (besides prize games and the photobooth) and we never cover. All that's needed to enter is a valid 21+ ID, cheers!

    Are you guys open again?

Hi Rebeca. We will reopen in the beginning of July. Thank you for reaching out. We will see you soon.

    Does this place require ID's?

Hi Ngoc, we do require a valid 21+ I.D. for entry

Is there a certain time their kitchen closes?

Hi! Generally, our kitchen closes one hour before we do. Sun/Wed/Thurs that would be 11p, and Fri/Sat that would be 1 am.

Is there an age limit to get in?

IDs are required and must be 21 or older to enter.

Do they accept passports as a valid form of ID to get in?

I don't know why they would refuse it if you lost your ID I guess?

Are you open on labor day?

Hi Eric. We will be open on Labor Day. Our doors open at 4PM. Have a great weekend!

Do they have Dance Dance Revolution?

    Nope

    Do you have coin pusher?

    No they do not

Where is the best place to park nearby?

Parking structure on tenth near k street.

    Whats the dress code?

    Definitely casual!

    Billiards/Pool is there?

Nope there is no pool tables. Its mostly arcade games and they do have a nice selection of pinball machines!

Is there any non alcoholic drinks here? Such as sodas and waters? My fiancé and I don't drink but would love to enjoy a soda or something while enjoying the games and food :)…

Most bars have soda water, soda, and regular water. They can always make non alcoholic cocktails for you.

When does the line outside start to get crazy?

    Around 10:30ish

How much does it cost per game? Do we have to bring our own change?

Games range from $.25 - $.50 maybe a few are more. Games like the huge 4 player Pac-Man you can play over and over again. They have change machines and an ATM, but there's a fee so just bring plenty of cash depending on how long you want to stay.

What kind of company/place/restaurant is this? Is okay take children here or should we avoid?

Hi Karyn, this is a Bar-Cade, must be over the age of 21. Coin Op offers craft brew, pizza and other snacks while you play old arcade games.

Is this a kid friendly place?

This place should be kid friendly cuz it is a restaurant cuz they serve food as well. It is a 21+ venue because it is a bar but that's a restaurant and it is unfair. Look...If it's a bar...Then they only serve alcohol and no food. So this should be…

One tip: make a reservation in advance. We were able to skip the long line, which made getting in quick and easy. My party of four was seated on the patio, but honestly, there's really no bad seat in the house. Tom's has TVs everywhere, so you'll have a great view of the game no matter where you're sitting. For food, we ordered the spinach and artichoke dip, fries, fried pickles, and I grabbed a beer. Everything was tasty, but the standouts were definitely the fries and fried pickles. The fries came out piping hot, crispy, and fresh, making them surprisingly one of my favorite items of the meal. I will say the prices are on the higher side, but for a big sporting event, I think it's well worth it. The atmosphere was amazing, the crowd made the experience even more fun, and the service was exceptional. Even though the restaurant was absolutely packed, our food came out quickly, and our server checked on us frequently throughout the game. Overall, I'd highly recommend Tom's for your next watch party. Between the atmosphere, plenty of TVs, solid food, and attentive service, it's a great place to catch a big game.

We were third in line for the reservation queue, so we expected that arriving early would help us get decent seating. Instead, we were assigned seats on the open patio directly in the blazing sun. The patio umbrellas weren't working, making the seating area unbearably hot on a warm afternoon. We politely asked if we could be moved to another table, but the staff was unwilling to accommodate us. When general admission opened, we even offered to give up our reserved seats and move into the general admission section instead. Despite there being an opportunity to make that happen, our request was again denied. After only 15-20 minutes, we had no choice but to leave because the conditions were simply unbearable. Paying in advance, arriving early, and still receiving the worst seats--with no willingness to help find a reasonable solution--made for a very frustrating experience. Customer service is about solving problems when they arise. Unfortunately, that didn't happen here, and it left us with a very poor impression of Tom's Bar. We missed a good part of the World Cup Finals which was the main purpose of going there. Costed us in fee and parking and lots of unnecessary anxiety!

The location is super convenient since it's within walking distance of the movie theater. We decided to skip the games this visit. Nothing really caught our attention, but maybe next time we'll give them a try. Instead, we grabbed a couple of seats at the bar and started with some shots. I ordered the Mexican Candy shot, and my girl got a Green Tea shot. My Mexican Candy shot was really good, it had a great balance of alcohol and flavor. It had just the right amount of sweetness and sourness without being overpowering. For food, I ordered the Beef Barbacoa Quesadilla, which came with pico de gallo, guacamole, and sour cream. My girl ordered the pork sliders along with a margarita, while I switched to a lemonade after my shot. The barbacoa quesadilla was excellent. The meat and cheese ratio was perfect, and everything tasted fresh. The pico de gallo, guacamole, and sour cream all complemented the quesadilla really well. I honestly had no complaints about my meal. The only hiccup during our visit was with my girl's pork sliders. The pork arrived cold, so we let the bartender know. At first, she thought the meat might have felt cold because of the coleslaw on the sliders, but after a brief conversation, she happily took them back and had a fresh order made. The replacement sliders came out with warm pork, and they were much better. Even the first batch tasted good, the only issue was that the meat wasn't warm enough. We appreciated that they made it right without any problems. One thing I thought was really interesting was their drink system. Every cocktail on the menu is served from a numbered tap. I've never seen that before, but I'm guessing it helps with portion control, reduces waste, and ensures every drink is made consistently. I thought it was a unique concept and a nice touch. One thing I also appreciated was the service. When it was time to pay for our meal, the bartender asked if I wanted a refill on my lemonade. I told her we were about to head to the movie theater, so I didn't need one. Then he offered to put my lemonade in a to-go cup so I could take it with me. I thought that was a really thoughtful gesture and a nice example of great customer service. Overall, we had a good experience. The food and drinks were both enjoyable, and the staff corrected the only issue we had with the sliders. I wouldn't hesitate to come back, and next time we'll probably give the games a chance. If you're looking for a place to grab some good food and drinks before a movie, Tipsy Putt is definitely worth checking out.

My only complaint was that the grilled chicken I added on was a bit dry and maybe I would've liked less dressing (it came tossed already). I also fried my son's kid's grilled cheese with French fries and the fries were awesome. Super crispy and flavorful. The grilled cheese was basic, but good. My husband got the cluck and crown chicken sandwich and said the chicken was also slightly overcooked and portion size of the protein was small, but the other toppings like avocado and bacon still made it worthwhile. Maybe if they were USA or more popular teams it would have been different. There were 4 people in the couch area, it was cozy so we didn't join them, but that was were the action was. No one in the bar area where we sat was into the game Seating- We arrived around 1pm just as the game was starting. The bar was nearly empty. Two parties were there sitting at the bar. One group had around 7 people, all in A's Jersey's. The A's were playing that evening at 7pm so these people were getting the party started early. We sat on one of the couple high tops. There was a tv right above us and was impossible. To see from our angle. There ware 2 TVs above the bar. One kept going in and out due to no signal, but the other one help up. We turned our chairs to face the tv so it was a great seating arrangement. The sound was not on for the TV so you just had to follow the game visually. Food- It's a pub so it's all pub food. My husband didn't want anything fried so that eliminated the fish and chips. That left us with a salad or a burger We got the pub burger for $21. It seemed kind of steep, but you're in a tourist area so that explains it. The burger was extra juicy at medium so that was good. It did lack flavor. It does help that it had pickles on it. That gave it some flavor. The onions were flavorless, but looked grilled. The menu doesn't say it, but it comes with fries. The fries needed more salt, but dipping them in ketchup helped the flavor. Now reading other reviews it looks like we could have gotten a side salad instead of fries. I guess we could have asked, but we didn't know it came with fries so we didn't ask for a subsitute. Bathroom- They had really nice bathrooms. You didn't have to go out side to the public restrooms. That was a plus especially since my burger was extra juicy and I needed to wash them. Parking- It's all street parking out front. Old Sacramento also has two garages that aren't that far. Depending on the day and the events that are gong on you you either pay by the day or by the hour. And don't lose your ticket as then you have to pay the maximum. If you are looking for a sit down place with pub food you've found your destination. This is one of the newer restaurants in Old Sacramento that isn't a white tablecloth type of restaurant. Which was a perk, because we weren't looking for fine dining this time. Actually we are never looking for fine dining when we go to Old Sacramento. The place was very clean and put off the new vibe. It's very nicely decorated. They even have a red telephone booth, a great place for pics.

For my entrée, I had the 20 oz bone-in ribeye, and it was cooked perfectly. The seasoning was flavorful without overpowering the steak, and every bite was delicious. I substituted the mashed potatoes for fries, which was a good choice. My sister tried the mashed potatoes and wasn't a fan because they were a little too Parmesan-forward for her taste. The broccolini, however, was perfectly cooked and a great side. Our server was incredibly kind, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The atmosphere was lively and fun without feeling overwhelming. Overall, it was a great experience, and I'd definitely come back!

Jose, our server, on the other hand, was the epitome of amazing service! he constantly checked on us and assured our needs were met. service was fairly quick (for a busier time). one of my family members ordered filet mignon medium rare & the first dish wasn't cooked to his liking, and Jose promptly addressed it! Thank you so much to Jose for being an awesome server!

We received our bread and appetizer, but then we waited...and waited. As the restaurant filled up, we watched table after table receive their meals, eat, and leave while we still had no entrées. The couple next to us arrived about 20 minutes after we did, received their food, sent it back because it wasn't good, got replacement meals, and still finished before we were ever served. Each time we asked about our food, we were simply told, "It's coming," while the staff avoided eye contact. After more than an hour, our food was finally brought out by the owner's son. His explanation was that our steak took a long time to cook. That's simply not believable. A steak doesn't take over an hour to prepare, especially when every other table around us had already been served. I would have respected an honest explanation far more than an obvious excuse. To make matters worse, the steak was thin, overcooked, chewy, and cold by the time it reached the table. The quality was nowhere near what we've come to expect from this restaurant. I told the owner's son that I was more upset about the dishonest explanation than the delayed food. We've been loyal customers and planned to keep coming back, but honesty and accountability matter. Instead of acknowledging what happened, the owner came out, pointed his finger in my face, and became defensive because I called out the excuse his son gave. Rather than apologizing or trying to make the situation right, he escalated it into an unnecessary confrontation. Everyone makes mistakes. Kitchens get backed up. Orders get lost. Customers are generally understanding when businesses are honest and take responsibility. What I can't overlook is being misled and then treated disrespectfully when I questioned it. Unfortunately, this was the worst dining experience we've ever had here, and unless the owners learn how to handle problems with honesty and professionalism, I can't recommend this restaurant.

I've been to the original many times, but this was my first at the Sacramento taproom and I loved my visit. It's located in a beautiful historic neighborhood right near the Capitol building. It feels like you're in a quiet area, but it's filled with people. They have outdoor seating, plus the main taproom counter, bar, and various tables. In the main taproom you'll find lots of takeout beer and the merchandise. I ordered a few new beers to try, always up to the consistently excellent quality. The staff were welcoming and friendly. It's a casual place, and you can choose your own seating. If you've never been to a Fieldwork, it's a great location.

It's all similar but you find a few hidden gems. Pizza and pretzels are good. Service was great! Staff are super friendly and helpful with the beer tasting suggestions. Place was big enough for fit large groups to spread out comfortably.

I came here for happy hour and ordered a handful of their items. Chicken Lumpia - over all I was pleased with how piping hot, fresh out the fryer it was. A bit thin for my linking but I appreciated there were 6 pieces. The sauce did not pair well. There was something off about it that isn't your typical sweet and sour; maybe the sauce was made in house. Sisig fries - decent portion of fries but fell short on the pork. Lacked an egg and didn't really meet the sisig flavors that I'm used to. You can definitely taste the zestiness of the lemon - nice touch, but other than that it's just fries with pork, red onion and green onion garnish. Hot dog - a $9 happy hour hot dog was the biggest disappointment. Sure the bread texture was good, toasted with a nice chew, but that was it. The dog itself was charged to my linking but it really didn't feel worth the money spent for its portion. Fries - 100% would get again. Cauliflower bites - I liked this too, flavor was good but such a small portion our table has to order two. Similar to the hotdog, not sure if it's worth the spend for the portion size. Despite the food not satisfying my cravings, the service was great. The young lady was helpful and was working hard taking orders, making drinks and delivering the food. The place was pretty busy at least the indoor area. Plenty of seating outside, but in this heat not sure if it's a good idea. Didn't see any misters but would be a nice touch to draw in more folks. Side note: some of the cocktails are premade, and can be overly sweet.
